What a beautiful use of space, a heritage building that was left empty and falling apart for a decade, to be then gutted to create an artistic piece of beauty. An indoor outdoor bar, beer garden, saloon and patio. Good drinks and kind service.

Great venue. Needs some food options though. There is only so many high % beers I can chug without needing to fill my belly with food! Edit- My old review above. Yay they have food!! And it's good! Best venue in Northbridge now? Pretty close, love this place, has the vibe.

Came to kill some time here with a couple of drinks before heading to another venue. This place has a great atmosphere with really well priced drinks! The staff were super friendly and the bar has very comfortable seating inside and out. I’d definitely come back again

Went with a friend for a quick bite and a glass of wine, so happy to find a vegan and gluten free pizza on the menu. I wasn’t expecting too much as usually gluten free pizzas are not the best here in Perth, but these guys truly surprised me! Pizza dough was absolutely perfect and didn’t seem a frozen pre-made one to me. Very VERY yummy! I will definitely come back, thank you team!

Food from pretty good pizza next door is always amazing. Best paired with a nice beer from the selection. Ruin is one of my local bars and a great place to take friends and out of town visitors to chill over some brews. πŸ‘Œ

Insane!! Nick behind the bar has made it his mission to find a beer that you’ll like! Great recommendations superb atmosphere! if you’re not into beer the staff will whip up a cocktail or pair a whiskey that will have you grinning from ear to ear! If I were to relocate to Perth this would be my local!

Had a great experience here. I was not sure what to order because they didn’t have mocktails. The staff there saw me and kindly made me a customised mocktail! It was fantastic πŸ‘ When I had the first sip I thought they should put it on the menu. A customised pineapple mocktail in a pineapple glass ✨🍍They put the straw upside down but who cares πŸ˜‚ I enjoyed it and the atmosphere a lot!

The Ruin has a great casual atmosphere. The music mix is all the songs you love (except for Barry Manilow. The DJ just doesn't do Barry😒). The beer garden is awesome (from the inside) you'll see what I mean when you get there; the perfect place for an icy cold and a pizza from Pretty Good Pizza next door (they're being modest btw see my review for Pretty Good Pizza) πŸ•πŸ˜πŸ»πŸ₯› The crowd is mostly young people from the nearby apartments or local workers so The Ruin could well become a community pub. It certainly has that feel. So if you want that "local pub" feeling in the city, give The Ruin a go.

I love this place ..not only do they offer a choice of decent ales , sours , stouts etc for the more discerning beer drinker .. the music is fantastic . today ..Joy Division , the Stranglers , The Pretenders, Happy Mondays .. brilliant ..and the bar staff actually welcome you , and seem passionate about their product ..very unusual ... My congratulations to the owner / operator ..great work ..oh and that 14.5% stout this evening ? ..wow !! .time for a nap .. cheers!! 😊

With all those taps you'd think they could put a half decent local beer on. Not a craft venue anymore. Tap line up included swan, sierra nevada, weihenstephaner, single fin, balter, fox Friday (core range hazy), bulk standard ginger beers, sours and hazies made up the rest. Lacked atmosphere, terrible elevator music and just an empty feeling about the layout. Staff did not appear to want to be there, not engaging and feeling like it was a burden to ask for a drink. The pizzas are the only saving grace, but you could always buy a takeaway beer and eat it in the park across the road.

Visited on a Wednesday night for half priced pizza from Pretty Good Pizza which is next door, but they bring the pizza to the pub. Pizza was excellent, good beers on tap, service very good. Apparently it can get pretty packed on Wednesday night but we were lucky and it was not busy during our visit.

Great bar with a really nice outdoor area, perfect for summer evenings. Lots to choose from on the menu, but the pizza is particularly good!

Great choice of beers, a few more cocktail choices wouldn't hurt. Pizza excellent from Pretty Good Pizza. Finally, staff super friendly and welcoming...will return!

Lovely venue! Restored building on Beaufort St retrofitted with cool interior digs including weathered walls, comfy booths, table-top games, exposed timber, velvet curtains and an expansive bar (although somebody forgot the fireball!). The bar staff were super friendly too :) They also team up with the neighbouring pizza joint, which serves up some fresh eats! Their music playlist is off the charts with amazing tunes - with the volume at an ideal level meaning you can groove whilst having groovy conversations at the same time. Can't wait to come back here again! Thanks Ruinbar :))

Ruin Bar is a great inner city bar, BIG selection of beers, and great pizzas πŸ• (Wednesday nights they're are half price) also... It's warm inside in winter πŸ”₯

Came here earlier this morning to enjoy a hot cup of coffee, it tasted amazing and the scenery was quite lovely. I had my dog with me, which the place had water bowls and is pet friendly. Will definitely come here again.

Zero pretention craft beer bar with a focus on independent Western Australian brews. Pizza available from next door to enjoy at the bar.

Really love what they've done with the space. Nicely renovated and a great use of the heritage building! Lots of options for indoor or outdoor seating. Excellent range of beers on tap. Worth a visit.

Great set-up. Hard to find. Stealth bar is a good description. Very nice beers on tap.

I rate this pub. Good food. Good drinks. Nice staff. Solid smoking area. However, whoever designed the womens bathroom... I have questions. Should a bathroom be painted black to the point it's dark even with the lights on..? And (for the love of God) why would you put hand dryers THERE? I vote ruin bar ladies toilet for the worst bathroom hand dryer placement in the greater perth region. Luckily, the rest of the venue makes up for it. I still recommend. Update: the bathroom is no longer a black void. Great work team!

Relaxed venue, nice aesthetic with good drinks options and a food van out the back. Has mechanics vibes. The Newcastle street area has really developed too from the dead zone it was for years, so the bad is near to some great restaurants too.
