Porta Trasimena, also known as the Arch of San Luca (as indicated by a special plaque affixed to the wall), is an imposing and very suggestive arch from which it is possible to reach Via dei Priori and from here, continuing, the historic center of the city. In the upper part, if you look a little, you can notice a small cross (right at the tip of the arch) and a crescent (immediately to the right) in bas-relief while on the left there is a sculpture depicting a lion.

One of the "historic" pastry shops in the city of Perugia, located in the beautiful context of Porta Trasimena - Via dei Priori; the products are really good and fresh, the place is open until late at night on weekend days, evenings in which it is possible to find both savory and sweet dishes hot and freshly baked. Necessary modification: unfortunately for a few days the pastry shop has been "closed indefinitely" I fear due to COVID....

Also called "Arco di San Luca" for the adjacent church, it is one of the seven gates of the Etruscan city walls of Perugia. Only the shoulders remain of the original Etruscan round arch as it was rebuilt in the Middle Ages with the current pointed arch. The grandeur of the original city walls can be better observed and appreciated from the exit.

A low key pasticceria with amazing (bread-based) pastries! Theyโ€™re often open late so I stopped in on my way home for a bun with chocolate chips. I also didnโ€™t taste any artificial flavors that are often in Italian pastries and to me that is the ultimate pastry.
