Old property, totally not recommended, please don't go there. We were shocked to see the services and property when we stayed there for 5 days. We didn't feel welcome, the rooms cleaning issues were there. Old occupants stuff were in drawers. Their buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner was awful. Definitely not a IHG property. Bills not cleared in time. Front end managers were slow in check-outs. Packed breakfast was not ready even after communicating the time. Definitely not a 5 star property. It is a 2 star property. Many other 5 star property are way better than this.

Service and the check-in processes are pathetic. Check-in took 30 mins at the counter, filling up nonsense forms. Also I booked room with breakfast at a higher price, and they said booking doesnt show breakfast. They were 100% sure that I was lying. They asked me to wait till 9:30am next day to clarify, i guess they expect us to stay hungry till then. Room is decent, but you get similar rooms at a better price in other hotels having much better service. Will never return to this hotel.

I had an lung operation, can not stand carpet odour. knowing this, they promptly changed my room to a suitable one. I highly appreciate behavior of all staffs and Managers. Complimentary Breakfast buffet is quite attractive and with good food qualities.. this hotel is really worth to stay comfortably.

Location of the hotel is prime and easily accessible to various tourist spots. The Hospitality is very good. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathroom could be a bit better. TV which they have kept is very old model it could be replaced with a latest version and bigger one. And their breakfast buffet is excellent totally worth the money. Overall an very good hotel for stay in city centre.

Amazing Staff. Very courteous and hospitable. The rooms are good and clean but the bathrooms could be better. The breakfast options are good with a lot of variety. The location of this hotel is also very good. Would certainly recommend to anyone who is looking for a safe and hassle free stay in Chennai during these covid times...

I’d rate this hotel 4 star. My stay here was a business meet, didn’t expect much more than a night stay. It was quite comfortable and luxurious. Breakfast served is actually just average for a 5 star hotel. It’s just at the centre of city, so you have very good connectivity to the city. Looks an old property, sometime you feel lost in a no man’s island. Check-In / Out was a professional experience, no hassle. @crowne plaza: you may improve assist the guests for a better reach.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel for a weekend getaway and overall had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and plenty of amenities. The hotel's location was also a big plus, as it was within walking distance of many popular restaurants and attractions. We especially enjoyed the rooftop bar, which offered stunning views of the city and a great selection of cocktails. We booked this hotel with high hopes and all false promises made by the Sales manager . When we arrived the rooms were not ready , we were handed over the room with stink and items used by previous occupant . Food was laid out as if it is a some kind of 2 star hotel . I think some Oyo room would have provide a better conduct of food layout . Staff was unprofessional and ill trained . Next day after complaint things were made bit better , however layout and variety improved a bit … We stayed there for 5 nights and each night menu remained almost same with only one choice in vegetable . Bills were not prepared timely and we had to wait whole night for same . Before checkout we had provided advance info that we would require early packed breakfast . Which was also not provided in time . There were many more minute unprofessional issues in the hotel — laundry clothes , hygiene n sanitation of washroom , cobwebs in rooms etc . Hotel will show u pics of new building and allot you rooms in old building . We tried to reach Mr Nair the GM but he seems to be the busiest man . After consistent effort finally we could get his time ie 0930 hours , for which he never turned up and didn’t think of giving courtesy call to express his inability to meet . There are better hotels around which might give you a bit less facilities but are much better in customer service . Will never recommend anyone to stay at this hotels not even my enemies .

Very good stay experience. Rooms were excellent. Spacious and comfortable. Big bath area with tub. View was very ordinary. I booked for pool view and they told they gave given an upgrade but not sure what way it was an upgrade i has to see a shed if i open window. Steam sauna and pool facilities were good. Breakfast was excellent. Over all good experience.

One of the best Five star hotel in Chennai. Our kids and my parents enjoyed the stay a lot . Hospitality is superb and the way they treat their guests is priceless. I stayed in many 5 star hotels ,compare to those waiting period for our asks is very low here. What ever you ask from House Keeping or room service they are providing those in less than 5 mts time. Can say it would be preferred hotel @ Chennai Note: If you are planning with Family ,go for their package with Breakfast,Lunch, lounge access and Dinner. Also if planning for Suite rooms go for the Club suite rooms those are with Dining table and bit spacious compared to normal suite rooms. All rooms were renovated and with high class material. Only negative is no Kids pool here. That's disappointed my kids. Rest all are more than my expectations.

This is review is w.r.to the Residency Restaurant @ Crown Plaza. We'd been there for dinner buffet. The ambience is great, the staff were very courteous. We booked through the nearby app, so we got a good deal on the buffet. The food is good, regular buffet spread. The waiter have a welcome drink when we asked about it even though it was not in the Menu card. Overall a good place, near and clean. We had a nice time.

A terrible experience overall! During check in, we had to wait for 45 minutes, post that they had assigned the wrong room from my booking. After speaking several time and being dissatisfied, we had asked to be refunded so we can leave. The receptionist than provided the room we had booked for, saying “we have upgraded you”. Though it was the room we had paid for. The next morning, we had to wait to be seated for breakfast. The quality of food and service is average, not worth the premium that’s being charged. In addition, few of the management employees here can be very blunt, not friendly or welcoming. They do not respect us as “paying customers”. Really do hope this feedback will be taken in and looked further into.

Very nice hotel with strong traditions. Rooms are nice but should get a overhaul. Restaurants are the best with a good verity of Indian food. There are 3 restaurants from an international to traditional Indian. The service is superb and they're very willing to help in any matter. Coffee shop in the lobby is out of this world. You must try the chocolates. Love it.

Best place to stay in chennai, super friendly staff, and the restaurant is great with a wide variety to choose from. It's very well managed. It is located in the heart of the city and not too far from my house. Definitely one of the best hotels in city, would love to recommend checking in here. It has a great ambience. Stayed here for 2 days during the weekend as a weekend getaway from work. It’s a great place to stay. Comfy room, great room service. I know that it’s the hotels duty to ask the room number when a guest enters the restaurant for breakfast, but I don’t know if it’s custom to ask when a guest leaves (after breakfast). Not one day, but both the days when I was leaving the restaurant after I had breakfast and by the same person. Made me feel like I didn’t belong here, that she doesn’t see me as a person who could stay here and afford a room here for the weekend. Another issue was the room key. I would go up to the room only for the card to not work. I’d have to go down to the reception to get it fixed- this happened thrice. Very inconvenient. Besides these 2 issues, I had a great time relaxing and unwinding.

Went to Dakshin, the quintessential south Indian restaurant. Had Veg/Non veg thali and one of us went LA Carta. The service was very attentive. The starter and soup were superb. The rest of the stuff was okay. The finale was the piping hot filter coffee

One of the oldest hotels. Food is too good. Rooms are clean and spacious. Building outer cleanliness shall be improved.

We have been here a few times. The room is really nice. We did try one of the restaurants and it was indeed great. However it would be great to maybe stop playing the music as there is some technical glitch or issues with the music where we did mention the same to the staff in the restaurant. Moreover the chaat section was just not too good. However the rest of the food and ambience is just great. The location could be better. However this could be because of the recent major road work happening at the area.

It is a rustic but elegant majestic hotel in a quiet location in the city. Staff are the greatest asset of this hotel.. All of the staff I dealt with were simply fabulous 👌 👏. Right from hotel airport pickup by Mr Mahendran who was very engaging. Then there is Ms Sriyoshi who very a geniune in getting a room quickly for me. Then Ms Adithi who was very caring and pleasant. She helped me change my room to a higher floor. All of the staff were all very genuine and very caring 😀. Overall had a very pleasant stay there.

I have been an IHG member for long and have been staying in various crowne plaza! I have stayed on these properties in the past as well however the trip felt very odd. Rooms were okay. In room dining experience was horrible. The staff wanted me to pay for my food when it was delivered in the room! Not sure in my 15 years of travelling any hotel asked me that. At checkout the card machine was not working so strangely I was asked to pay in cash! Not sure when everyone is going cashless in India why they love this payment. Hotel is nice but it didn't felt like earlier days. One thing is sure crowne plaza chennai is not my first choice hotel now!

Great hotel with good food and service. Love On the rocks for their food and Westminster bar to just grab a drink with friends or family. Their newly renovated rooms are very comfortable.

After a Rundtrip in south India with 10 other hotels we did not feel being welcomes here: instead an usual welcome drink we had to fill out a form with questions for passport data they had anyway. Took is an hour waiting. keycard refused working. Waiter asked for payment during meal. Besides, pricers for beverage were twice as high as normal. Would not book a 2nd time.

Located at ttk and chamiers road junction this place is grandeur, clean, follows covid protocol and serve excellent food at dakshin restaurant. Visit it for the experience, pricey though.

Iconic hotel. Formerly the Park Sheraton and now the Crowne Plaza. This hotel still holds the position of being one of the best known landmarks in the city and hosts most of the important events and meetings. What it needs urgently though is an interior upgrade which is quite dated and in some places falling apart.

It was indeed a great experience and beautiful ambiance. We had our team team dinner at Residency restaurant. The service was very good and the food was also very delicious. Overall a very good night there.

11 of us had lunch in Residency. Mainly due to the ambiance, it was a good experience. The spread and the taste of food was just average; no flavor and nothing lip smacking. You should keep the veg & non veg dishes a bit separated, respecting the sensitivities.

Very neat. However, in the buffet hall may provided with "Traditional" hand wash facility at the prominent place in the buffet hall. Hand wash is a "COVID" standard protocol. It is necessary to provide hand wash facility in all buffet halls. The management must consider to implement this.

I had awesome experience in this hotel. The food was phenomenal and service was also very great. I loved the overall experience. The room we stayed in was clean and tidy. The staff working there is friendly and helpful. I usually don't comment on social media but this was best thing I experienced so I couldn't stop myself from commenting.

Ambience of the place was just so pleasing. We dined in The Residency inside Crowne Plaza. Food had a lot of varieties including some Interesting veg options. Most of rhe desserts were really tasty. Ice creams did not keep the standard Overall, a goto place for team outings. Parking space is sufficient.

We stayed in the hotel for 3 weeks and had a wonderful time in the hotel. Staff was so helpful that we felt home away from home. Restaurant manager, chef everybody made it extra special. We being North Indian had problems eating different taste of food. But their chef being North Indian almost gave us specially made food for us and we enjoyed every meal. Overall very warm staff.

Comfortable stay. Good location. Excellent service, and very friendly staff. We had to catch an early flight. So the restaurant staff were very helpful in packing breakfast for us to take to the airport. I would give them more stars if I could.

Stayed at this hotel for the first time in Chennai and the experience was not good. Quality of food and service during dinner as well as breakfast was very poor. It seemed that trainees were managing everything and no senior experienced person was involved or interested. Even the check-in and check-out experience was not very pleasant. Staff doesn't even have the basic courtesy to greet the guests and look disinterested. Overall, it was a very poor experience.

Crown plaza is not just a luxury hotel but an experience in itself. Located in central chennai very near to Marina beach and all other important tourist destinations, this hotel is an epitome of hospitality. Rooms are clean, well maintained and ably designed. Lots of fresh sunlight and adequate space to work on your own things with a desk and charging space. washrooms were clean and hygienic and accessories were top notch. Food is delicious and buffet breakfast sumptuous. Overall a great experience.

The rooms are clean and ambience is very good. We stayed there for 5 days and it was most comfortable stay ever. It is very nice place. The breakfast menu has lot of variety and staff working particularly Ms. Gayatri was so humble and nice. Loved their hospitality and would love to come again
