Only elite class people are allowed. In the name of security concerns, the general public are stopped from experiencing one of chennai's best places. Would be nice at least if awareness is spread about this new rule because i was deeply saddened when i went there and stopped by the guards.

The lane is perfect for running (considering Chennai heat) with trees all around. A stretch of 2.3kms around the garden. Very much walkable from beasant nagar Depot and Bessy beach. Good to even run at around 8AM.

The great banyan tree is iconic thing in adyar but why visitors are not allowed? Even nature walk can be done only by VIPs is it? Not fair

Went here yesterday hoping to see the sprawling gardens. But had to return disappointed. Apparently, the CM has started taking his walks in the garden so they have permanently closed off the park to visitors due to security concerns. Only pass holders in the surrounding communities are allowed inside the gardens. Sad to see this treasure trove of nature cannot be cherished by one and all alike.

One of the best places in Chennai. It's a mildly controlled forest on sandy soil. The sheer number of trees, birds and insects is a sight for the sore eyes in the concrete jungle. There will be security at access points as people tend to misuse the privacy. But am excellent place to sit and sketch or write or take photos.

Beautiful place. Beautifully carved and painted Thatched huts where you can spend quality time with your friends and family is yet another great attraction. It's a good place for a getaway from the busy weekdays. You've to book the tickets online, but the money has to be given only at the time of your visit.
