A decent old restaurant in Adyar which is serving authentic Kerala dishes. They are not only famous for their Kerala cusine but they are good at chettinad and Arabian cuisine too. This place will be crowded always as they are well known for their lunch, tea and dinner. Even during evening tea time people will be visiting this place to try their tea and kerala style snacks. Coming to their ambience its a typical family restaurant type. Which is neat. They are well known for their Kearala parotta and their garvys. Tried that and the taste of their parotta and gravy have not changed since ages. Last but not the least they are good at their custards and puddings as well. If you are a dessert lover try that too. P.S You will be served no normal water but jeera reddish water ๐Ÿ™‚

This restaurant is located in the basement so the management needs to light up the place. the place is very dimly lit and seating is very congested. it seems like a mess setup. Ambiance is not in their agenda ( 0 star rating) The place has ample space for parking so it's an added advantage. ( 1 star rating) The staff is attentive and quick to take orders and serve the same. ( 1 star rating) The food is just average , bland and nothing much to talk about. there is nothing striking related to food. There are better restaurants in the area which provide better food at the same price. The food quantity is nice but the quality takes away the charm. ( No star rating) Overall I will love to try some other restaurants rather than giving it another try.

This is one of few good places in Chennai where authentic Kerala cuisine is available. This place is more of a family restaurant. The food doesnโ€™t justify the price though.

Good Food and Friendly Staff. Lots of variety in food. Loved the Starters and Biryani. Quality of food is awesome. Would definitely come again. Abdul Rahim was keen on answering all our kerala cuisine related questions, with a smile and great enthusiasm.

Crescent, my all-time favorite restaurant, has never failed to impress me. Their dishes have consistently exceeded my expectations, and I have visited countless times. One standout dish is the Appam and Chicken Sukka Semi-Gravy, with its outstanding taste and flavors. The Kizhi paratto , Crescent Special Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are also highly recommended and never disappoint. The service is top-notch, with attentive staff always ready to assist. The ambience strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. If you're seeking a remarkable dining experience, I urge you to visit Crescent and indulge in their culinary delights.

Restaurant offering authentic Kerala, Chettinad, and Arabian dishes, attracting crowds for lunch, tea, and dinner. The family restaurant has a neat ambiance. Their specialty lies in delicious Kerala parotta and garvys, maintaining the same classic taste over the years. Visitors flock here even during evening tea time to try their tea and Kerala-style snacks.

We went in as a party of four. We tried the Chicken 65, Butter Chicken Masala, Dragon Chicken, Chappathy, Kerala Parotta, Caramel Pudding, fruit custard and Ada payasam. The Mutton biriyani was good with the meat very nicely cooked. Butter Chicken lacked that buttery sweet sour taste. Chicken 65 was just average and tasted like a regular fry. They put grated cheese on top of Dragon chicken which in my opinion ruined it's taste. DONT order kerala parotta from here as they charge 42Rs for one. It was same as the regular parotta. The fruit custard was good. Caramel pudding was okay. The ada payasam was average. Overall an okay place with good biriyani.

We went on a Sunday night, with a party of 9 the place was packed and we had to wait for a few mins to get seated. The food was good. Good keralan style food. Valet parking available. Didn't see any high chairs available for kids. Not wheelchair accessible (you'd have to climb down a flight of stairs to reach the seating area)

I visited the restaurant on a Sunday. It was a relatively busy afternoon. I ordered Malabar chicken biriyani. As a person who comes from Malabar and have tried several other biriyanis from chennai, I wasnโ€™t really hopeful of getting an authentic biriyani here either. Here what disappointed me was that the biriyani tasted different with some intense smell of a spice and we couldnโ€™t finish eating it. Maybe it was a one time mistake while preparing biriyani. Anyway will try once more and update it. The biriyani is high priced and par below the expected standard.

The place has a good ambience with a parking area. Tried the shawarma and prawn briyani . The shawarma tasted pretty well but the prawn briyani was a let down, was too oily and the pieces were less compared to the price . Ended with coconut souffle which was heaven in taste.

I had the Thai Chicken Soup, Grilled Chicken and Caramel Flan. The Thai Chicken Soup wasn't creamy like it was supposed to be. I could taste a lot of garlic and not much of the coconut. The grilled chicken was delicious. Probably one of the best I've had in a while. The Flan was insanely good. The caramel sauce was perfect and although the flan itself was a little thicker than expected it tasted really good. The ambience and seating left me wanting more though. The Air Conditioner wasn't really doing much and the floors were slippery.

Everything is good but there is only car parking..there is no parking slot for 2 wheelers.. we have to park it under the bridge..most of the time it will be full only so we have to park our bike somewhere else to eat here ...thats the only drawback...we tried everything but egg noodles is horrible please donโ€™t choose that..it doesnโ€™t have any taste otherwise everything is good ..price is also reasonable....service is good ..they patiently waited till we told our order...must try paneer tawa fry its too good..we loved it ..

Website shows open 10:00-100:00. Went there at 11:15am to try out the appam and chicken curry. Disappointed. Was told doesnโ€™t open before 12 noon. Website needs to show proper hours. Made it here today. Tried the popular โ€œ2 appam + chicken stewโ€ combo. Very tasty and appams well made. Plenty of curry for the two appams. Maybe can have 1 more. Overall happy experience. Recommend people try out this restaurant.

I tried this restaurant for this first time. We ordered mutton pepper soup and cream of roasted chicken soup, full tandoori, karimeen pollichadhu, chicken kothu parotta, appam with chicken gravy, caramel pudding, elaneer payasam and royal falooda. The taste of all food was good. Especially caramel pudding and elaneer payasam was delicious. The service was also good.

Nice tasty dishes and good ambience... But one small draw back, the delay in the food delivering....I prefer to go in weekdays to enjoy, could avoid in weekend due to rush....

Had lunch here. Crescent Hotel is located in a prime location in Adyar and is known for its variety of menu options. It's a Kerala-style hotel with budget-friendly prices. During peak hours, the hotel can get crowded and busy. However, the staff is considerate and provides quick service. The hotel is an ideal place for people who love to savor real and fresh flavors. You may need to search for a place to accommodate yourself

I have ordered parotta, gravy & grill chicken combo. Worth the money but somehow that day the grill chicken was not had the usual flavour and taste or it was not the same as how they serve at Nungambakkam branch

I always love dining here but one thing that hasnโ€™t changed here is that they dont clean the chicken for grill properly You will be biting the chicken and suddenly u see the inner bones have this small intestines I had reported this to them before aswell but this time I couldnโ€™t take it

Very tasty food but could be a bit more consistent. I had lunch twice in a weeks time and ordered the same stuff and found to be different in taste. If you are a lover of Kerala Cuisine, this is one of the best places to eat out. The Special BBQ Chicken and Kerala Chicken 65 is something!! Must try..Atmosphere is so so, and during the weekends it is too crowded even beyond 4 pm for lunch..If you are waiting, I suggest you order before hand at the cash counter and once you get the table, the food will start coming in
