This was a nice, quaint little shop. The tea options were very good. I didn't care much for the sandwiches but that is just personal preference. The waitress there was more than willing to work something out to accommodate my tastes. My companion enjoyed the sandwiches, so I believe they were good. I didn't realize that the desserts change. The day we went was death by chocolate. There was fruit, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake, and chocolate cheesecake. It was all fine. I'm not a huge fan of chocolate stuff so my experience could have been better overall. I don't blame the shop for my personal tastes. I recommend that anyone going asks ahead of time what desserts, soups, and sandwiches are being offered so that you can make sure you'll like what they're serving. I'd never been there, so I didn't know that the menu changed from day to day. Now, I know. I'll definitely try it again, keeping these things in mind.

Very disappointed. I ordered the Luncheon Tea, which is supposed to be: tea, four sandwiches, fruit, and scones with jam & cream. I was served a pot of tea, four sandwiches, and a fruit skewer. I wasn't offended cream for the tea, but sugar was on the table. My bill was $19. It seemed expensive for a tiny amount of food. When I got home I looked at the menu and realized they never served me the scones and jam. I don't know if the waitress forgot half of the order or they were in a rush to get me out. I was the only person in the restaurant, so it's not like they were busy.

Been here about 5 times now. Every single time was something special. It is more than a place to eat. It is a feeling of elegance and days gone by. It is truly the perfect place for the gals to have a girly day. Can't wait to go again.

I love this place. They have an awesome selection of tea and I LOVE The little sandwiches. They usually have really good soups and desserts here too.

Very quaint place to have a delicious lunch and enjoy some unique and tasty tea. The service was top notch and they had a variety of food selections and tea. Had a wonderful time with my daughter whom suggested we come here. ❤ I give the entire experience 5 stars. There is also an antique gift shop and a section to buy some tea, jam and other items. Put this one on your bucket list and you won't be disappointed.

My sister and I decided to come here for a little sister date this afternoon and we LOVED it! The atmosphere is super cute; a mix of antiques and vintage charm. I did call ahead and make reservations; though they aren't required. Everything was nicely spread out and the server wore her mask the whole time. The tea selection was great and the server had great recommendations on what to order for 2 people to split. We had the full afternoon tea and it was amazing! The strawberry chocolate tea was delicious and the assorted sandwiches, pastries and fruit paired very nicely. They also have other options if you're feeling wine and cheese or lighter food. We will definitely back!

Wonderful experience at this pearl in old town Petersburg. Went out with my best friend for our weekly 'lunch and talk'. We like to explore places that are pleasant to the soul as well as the palate. The tea sandwich sampler was a delight but it was the dutch chocolate mousse cake that truly made me believe I was in heaven (yes it was that good!!!). This old townhouse functions both as a tea house and as an antiques store with several rooms to browse through on the bottom and the top floors with all kinds of treasures. Will definitely be back!!!!

This was the most intricately charming and delicately pleasing event of my 7th anniversary celebration! It was like stepping into the books of one's princess and galant knight or castle and kingdom fantasies, full of beauty and charm and whimsical dreaminess and delightful comraderie! The theme fitting tea was delicate and unique in it's aromas and also carefully achieved rich flavored with an enticing texture experience of smooth silk. We couldn't order enough! My top two favorites were strawberry chocolate and Carmel vanilla. The scones were incredible and the lay out and display of the food was something of a dream in it's delightful precision. The dainties and tasty food made me feel the part of a victorian novel of regal posture and elegant character of kind company. This restaurant has a ambiance that is unmatched with a theme that is expertly delivered in a laid back elegance that made me feel like the queen was delighted to have tea with me! The food, the service, the elegance and carefully placed elaborate decor, the incredible people... All genuine and kind and observant with amazing service.. and oh! The antique shop connected to the restaurant just kept me on my toes and simply enraptured me! They have details on the tags so you know what your looking at.. even dates and the prices are incredibly low for such rare and unique treasures! I left feeling I had gained an education and greater appreciation in antiques, and the genuine and kind nature of the owners and staff left me feeling like I had made friends at my lunch in a castle. ;) I cannot wait to come have "tea" again!

I’ve been here on multiple occasions and each time I’ve had different experiences. The food and tea are fabulous but what stops me from giving 5 stars is the customer service. We had gone here a few times until we experienced horrible customer service and stopped going for a handful of months. Decided to go back and were met with more passive aggressive attitude. With having social anxiety, it was a nightmare. More detail: The previous times we’ve gone in, it was a seat yourself situation. Found out today after a bit of a passive aggressive exchange, that was not the case always (they have no signs to indicate that you must go to the register in the back). From this point all of the interactions with the waitress just felt off. A few smaller things I could dive into but they’re petty nonsense. The last thing that soured the mood was when we were paying. She handed my husband the bill, I gave him my card, he put the bill and card closer to me. She comes back, types in my info from the card, hands the signing portion and card back to him even when I reached out. I just laughed and let him handle that part. Now this last bit wouldn’t be too much of an issue if it weren’t for comments that were made to us months ago at the same place. I had come here solo before bringing my husband. The whole time the waitress was making remarks like, “this place is probably too girly for you,” or “oh you brought your husband to pay this time.” I understand some people still have a point of view on masculinity and especially for a place like this but it just becomes rude at some point. - Even after saying this, I think anyone should give this place a try. Our interactions may differ from yours and there aren’t many tea rooms left. Just make sure you don’t seat yourself!

Blue Willow Tea Room is a gem in Petersburg! I hope that others will stop by and enjoy the delicious food and many teas they have to offer. They made our daughter's bridesmaids tea so very special with their attention to detail. The people who work there are just so very kind!

I absolutely love this quaint tea shop in Downtown Petersburg. I've had two events here and both were amazing! I love that there's so many options for the different Teas you can try and the finger foods are all tasty and well made! The staff are easy going, and lots of fun to chat with while they serve you. Dress up or go casual, either way you will fit in just fine. Parking spaces on the street can be tough to find, but enjoying Afternoon Tea amongst an eclectic sworray of tea sets, lace and antique decor is worth the hassle. I plan on returning again and again. Anyone that decides to visit Blue Willow Tea Room is in for a marvelous treat!

It’s a small venue with a very quiet, intimate setting which I liked. Everything from the neighborhood to the decor used, to the tea sets have an antique-ish feel as you would expect since it’s located in historic Olde Town Petersburg. Even though there are other customers around it’s so intimate that it feels like the place is reserved just for you and your party. It doesn’t give off the pretentious vibe that I would imagine that you get at the Jefferson Hotel but still gives you an authentic afternoon tea experience. The food and teas were absolutely delicious and had me wanting to go back again (which I am). Overall my experience was great. I can’t wait to return later this month when my in-laws come to visit. It’s quite the gem.

The Blue Willow Tea Room is a beautiful space (and it was great fun to browse the antique shop next door after), and the wait staff was very nice and accommodating. I got the Victorian tea. Having been to a lot of tea rooms, I have to say I was disappointed in two very important aspects. They use tea bags, not loose leaf tea. And the food was okay but not great. The scones were cold and dry, the sandwiches were not terribly interesting (very little filling on thick bread/rolls/croissants that were cold and tasted store bought), and the pound cake tasted more like Sara Lee than homemade. This place has the makings of a terrific tea room, but it's not quite there yet.

Very calm and cozy atmosphere with more than ample portions (we ordered 3 of the "tea for 2" for 5 people and it was more than enough). The tea was absolutely lovely and the staff was more than willing to provide extra cream and sugar as necessary. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a sit down tea service experience.

We had my daughter's 16th Birthday party there this afternoon and it was amazing!! The staff was lovely and personable, they surprised all of us with singing Happy Birthday, and the food was fantastic. They happily accommodated a food sensitivity for a member of our party and encouraged the teens to let loose and have fun. Will definitely go back!! Thank you for making my daughter's birthday so memorable 😊

Very cute place to hang out. The staff was very friendly and would.just chat with you in between guests. Ordered the stages of afternoon tea. It was enough food for my wife and me, and came.with 2 pots of tea. Highly recommend.

Lot's of fun and plenty of choices of tea. We had a good size party in our group and the ladies that worked there were kind, sweet, helpful, and fun to be around. Definitely going to go back.

I am a local with Petersburg I moved away from recently returned. My mother wanted to go antiquing and looking at some of the shops in Old Town when we stumbled upon Blue Willow Tea Room. We went in the door for all the beautiful antiques and jewelry were. We bought a couple of things and kept walking through the shop and discovered the tea room. We were greeted warmly and asked if we would like the sit. It was such an unexpected delight! We had a lovely time! I discovered I like cinnamon tea and the desserts were fantastic!
