Yankee's omelet, biscuits and strawberry pancakes. Everything was delicious. We were looking for a brunch restaurant that wasn't a chain, and found this gem. Service was excellent and the food was fantastic.

This has been an AWESOME place to eat for many years. My 3 kids loved to eat here when they were growing up. The original owner, MR. K, would always make sure they got candy as we were leaving. He was a WONDERFUL man and I really miss him working the register. I don't remember him ever using a calculator, he added up our bill in his head. And I don't ever recall him making a mistake. The atmosphere hasn't really changed too much now that Mr.K isn't there. The food is still DELICIOUS, and the folks that work there are really nice and friendly. I feel certain that Mr. K would be pleased with the way his restaurant is carrying on.

This place is dear to my heart. I have enjoyed their breakfast menu for over 25 years. The food to me is worth everything I am about to say. The restaurant interior is aging. It would be nice to see some upgrades. I came on a Sunday morning around 10 and they had 2 actual waitresses and they were great at their jobs but you can tell they need some help. They are so good that they stay extremely busy. These waitresses deserve a great tip. Back to the food. They absolutely have the best milk gravy and biscuits. Awesome omelets. Our daughter loves the club sandwich with fries.

We found this little hole in the wall this past weekend. Quaint little place where everyone was hustling and bustling. The price was great and so was the service! Ms. Vicky was super nice, and our food was delicious. Looked at the potatoes and didn't think much of them until I bit into them! Mmmm mmmm mmmmmmm! Food was simple and good. Nothing fancy but a place we will visit again! So glad we found a good place close by.

Food was great and homemade. Hot food and quick service. Waitress was very sweet. Very welcoming atmosphere.

In this little cozy diner, you will find warm and comfort. And the waitress who knows the regulars and make you feel you’re at home. I had mushrooms, green peppers, and cheese omelette with the tomatoes along side link sausages. Delicious and fulfilling. He had omelette with cheese with home fried potatoes with a side of French toast. The potatoes was a little soft and mushy. But the French toast was on point. And it’s a bit pricy for a small diner.

This place is the best diner I've been too since moving from NY. The unsweetened tea was the best as well. Food was amazing with huge portions and tasted like momma made it. Biscuits were piping hot and fresh and the pancake was huge. I will definitely return.

Excellent! Stopped by before noon, service was great. Portions are small but very good, waitresses are very nice. Definitely will go again.

Great little coffee shop with amazing food and a super friendly staff, the egg came out perfectly nice and runny without being undercooked just like i like it, on top of that they have the best grits Ive ever had and the pancake was soooo big and fluffy not to mention my coffee cup was always kept full and hot and it was soooo tasty I wish I'd taken a cup to go After my meal I was even able to play my guitar out front to earn back what I'd spent there All in all a most excellent dining experience THANKS FOR HAVING ME!!! You want a place where all the locals go to see each other and have some good conversation and eat good down home cooking. This is your spot. I had a 3 egg omelet and Grits and toast with coffee. It was good eats. The service was great, the food good and the coffee hot. If your looking for fancy go somewhere else, but this restaurant gives you the home town feel of being with friends and family. This is really a good place to enjoy a good breakfast and they also serve lunch. They do close around 1:30pm.

Crab cake sandwich was phenomenal! Great service, quick and delicious home cook style.

One of the best dine in breakfast restaurants in the area. Food is well prepared and portions are more than ample. Staff is very welcoming and you are served in a timely manner. Very reasonably priced menu.

My advice: Read your menu carefully! I ordered in haste and the Yankee Omelette is one of the worst dishes I've ever experienced. Poorly conceived and poorly executed, overcooked and unseasoned. This was a culinary disaster! I used to frequent this establishment with my mother many years ago, and it was truly one of our favorites. I happened to be in Petersburg for the morning and I was looking forward to this "Taste of Home." So disappointing! Maybe next time I'll take a moment to study the menu more carefully. Wait Staff was attentive and polite, though!

I went there alone my first time. A friend posted a picture and I just has to try and oh my god the pancakes are the best. I'll be going again tomorrow with a friend

The staff was very friendly.Our order came out quickly. The food was very good country cooking, the I remember how it used to really be! Definitely going back there, now that I found it!

if you’re into smaller restaurants that make you feel like home, this is the place for you.I have worked around the country and eaten at dozens of family owed restaraunts.This is in the top three. Right to the point. Food is good and it comes out fast And the place is clean.This may be the perfect diner.
