Without a doubt, the best hotel I have stayed in Brazil. Everything from the facilities, food, service and rooms was amazing. We can't wait to stay there again. We only regretted not staying longer. The only negative is the location which is a little far from all the famous parts of Rio (20-30 minute drive), however the quality of the hotel makes up for this. Thank you to all involved with the hotel!!

The place is good, with a wonderful breakfast and a nice beach across the road. Location is controversial- on one side Barra is a quiet and seemingly relatively safe neighborhood, but at the same time any trip to main travel spots took us 1-1,5 hours because of traffic. And the soundproof is too bad for Hyatt. We had a sea view room and the balcony door hardly blocked any street noise at all. And the street is very busy

Be careful while booking this hotel. There are some pitfalls and hick-ups possible. The location is remote from Ipanema and Copacabana, but you have already figured that out. The welcome at the reception is nice. When you come to your room, it is full of ants, because the team wanted to be nice to have chocolate on the table. A bottle of their sparkling wine was also ready to consume, if you like warm drinks, as the ice was fully melted. The two telephones are not working in room 725. The Nespresso machine was not working. They all tried to repair things, but it looks a bit lay for a 5 star hotel. The 100 USD amenity package was nice shared on the restaurant bills, even if it could only be used for spa (during Corona I didn’t want to try the spa). The problem are the taxes and especially the “Resort fees” which will be added. What for? Nice hotel, but not 5 stars for that price.

Great hotel! We were 4 staying in two connecting rooms. Very convenient for a family. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable, as the beds. The breakfast buffet is of very high quality with plenty of choice. Only 2 negative points listed below, but overall, it was a wonderful experience! -the Wi-Fi deconnecting frequently or slow. -location is great, but you will have to deal with the helicopters and planes nearby.

Excellent hotel, away from the hustle & bustle of Copacabana but directly on a beautiful sandy beach. We were a group of family & friends & the hotel was suitable fro everyone from 7 to 70 year old. The pool is warmed & very nice. Breakfast is amazing & comes with a very nice view from the restaurant. The sea view room have a very spectacular see view .

A most disappointing experience, considering it's one of the priciest hotels in Rio and Hyatt has always met very high standards. Not so here, unfortunately. The position, though stunning in terms of views, is right on the Jacarepaguá airport landing line, so starting 7am you will hear extremely loud noises of helicopters and planes. Construction material must have been of low quality because we could hear chairs being dragged on the upper floor for hours on end and waking us up in the end The check in process took forever and in the end they forgot to mention our room to the baggage staff. The bar offered "free" welcome drink vouchers that turned out to be usable only for one kind of drink (but they do not tell you upfront) I was due to come back in January but will most certainly book somewhere else as this is not a pleasant place to stay, unfortunately. Only good note: the breakfast. Really good

This Grand Hyatt is an amazing contemporary property that I would definitely stay at again. I’ll start with the pros: the rooms are modern, well laid out, filled with light, and have spacious balconies. The toiletries are also a notch above the small average soaps you’ll get in most hotels. If you’re a beachgoer who just wants to relax, this is the property for you. Located right across the street from beautiful white sand beaches you can simply wake up and enjoy the sun lounging all day then retire for room service or sushi at the in hotel restaurant which received a Michelin Star. The complaints I have were very not picky: the buttons to call a waiter around the pool do not work, expect to flag a staff member down. Pool food is also ok, not great like the prices imply. The club lounge is crowded and the children can be noisy/ running around. All in all minor annoyances that did not detract from my 2+ week stay.

Hotel and location was beautiful. Try a room with an ocean view. The spa was great, try a facial or deep tissue massage. Next door to the spa you will find wonderful Brazilian fragrance shop with fragrances made in Brazil. The Brazilian and Japanese restaurants had a great menu and a wonderful dining experience. Great customer service from the front desk to the spa and restaurant.

This shouldn't be a 5 Star hotel. It has more of a 3-4 star feel. The rooms are not luxurious, and the pool is cloudy. This hotel caters to kids, games are every around the pool with designated staff to play with them. If you dont want to be around kids running in and out of the pool, and yelling then I don't recommend this place. The beach access was nice because it was directly across the street. The water is too rough to get in, but it was nice to sit by. The best thing I can say about this place is the service at the bar/restaurant and the concierge is very helpful.

This is our absolute favorite Grand Hyatt in Central/South America! The staffs and managers are all so friendly and helpful. So extremely welcoming the minute you step foot at this hotel from the bellman, front desk, waiters, club lounge, to housekeeping. Spacious and comfortable rooms and suites with beautiful views of the ocean or the lagoon. Extremely safe location with Uber easily accessible to excellent high end restaurants and luxury mall in Barra. (Mocellin steak and Village Mall) the beach and bicycle path is directly across the hotel. Very nice exclusive beach chairs for hotel guests. The breakfast here is phenomenal with some of the best pastries I have ever had. The club lounge is beautiful during sunset with the nicest people working there. There are different daily activities listed next to the elevators. I would recommend booking them ahead of time (boat tour) There is also a Michelin star Japanese restaurant at the hotel (for dinner only) We enjoyed the fresh chilled coconut by the pool. After you drink the coconut water, they will cut for you to eat the sweet coconut meat. :) there are complimentary bicycles at the hotel I would suggest taking it for a ride on the bike path along the ocean and get a refreshing açaí nearby called maria açaí. This is an excellent Grand Hyatt with amazing staffs in a beautiful location with lots of things to do. We truly enjoyed our stay here and were so thankful to meet so many wonderful people at this hotel.

We had a great time during our stay, which was for Christmas and New Year’s 2023. This hotel is located in Barra Do Tijuca which is about 30 minutes from Ipanema and Copacabana. We love the fact that it was from the Hustle and bustle of the city ; there was less people on the beach than center Rio and it’s very tranquil. The hotel is very nice with clean lines, modern amenities. During our stay, there was a lot of people because it was a holiday season and at any given day the hotel was at capacity, but the staff did a wonderful job. The pool service was incredible. There were people entertaining small children so the parents can catch a break. The food was delicious. We ate every day lunch at the poolside. We also had breakfast at the club lounge every morning where there was a lot of choices from fresh local fruits to delicious pastries. There was also an omelette station. Our rooms were cleaned every day. We were lucky and we had a room that overlooked the beach. I will definitely come back if I return to visit Rio de Janeiro . Highly recommended.

My stay at Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro so far is nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Especially I would like to complement  INGRID SOUZA coordinator of Guest Relations. She went above and beyond of 5 stars solving my customer issues mix ups during my online reservations. Every single aspect of customer services has been minutely and perfectly planned by the Ingrid and her colleagues. She is truly what hospitality should be about. The attentive and courteous staff catered to my every need (let me mention Trecila at the front desk and Viktor concierge), ensuring that my stay was as comfortable as possible. The luxurious accommodations, coupled with exceptional service, made my stay truly memorable. The hotel’s prime location made exploring the Barra de Tijuca a breeze, and I can’t wait to return to this beautiful place on my next visit. The hotel’s elegant design, combined with its top-notch amenities, made for a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. The attentive and courteous staff catered to my every need, ensuring that my stay was as comfortable as possible. With its convenient location and outstanding service, Grand Hyatt of Rio De Janeiro has quickly become my go-to choice for accommodations whenever I travel to the area. 5 star! Highly recommended!

We were greeted by a beautiful hostess named caroline barboza, after checking us in then we were sent to the bar for a complementary drinks. One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The atmosphere is great. Live music :)) five star on hospitality, everything was perfect.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights together with my wife . Unfortunately we can’t recommend it. During our stay an item disappeared from our room and the Hotel didn’t show any type of responsibility .They told me that they are not able to prove that. How should a guest be able to prove that there has been stolen a personal belonging from the room? Obviously I did not mount a camera inside the room during my stay! Don’t stay there, you’re personal belongings aren’t safe there, which shouldn’t be a criteria in a 5 star Hotel.

Couldn't be better - love every single moment. Staff is unbelievably friendly, helpful, and just great overall! Hotel rooms are clean and well-maintained. Hotel is a truly resort for a perfect vacation. Barra da Tijuca is a wonderful place to be.

Beautiful and welcoming in a very nice area of Rio. One side there 's a natural reserve and the other beautiful beaches. Staff is attentive and the vibe is extraordinary.

Amazing hotel. Staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. Nothing to much trouble for anyone. Amazing breakfast selection not to be missed. Only down side is just a bit away from the nightlife but is a short taxi ride or long walk for the fitter Ones. All in all an amazing hotel. Rooms made everyday and Nespresso machine in room.

Incredible infrastructure, spacious rooms, great views (especially the rooms facing Marapendi lagoon), big pool with more than enough space for everyone even if occupation is high (eg new years eve). 3 stars mainly because 1) this is apparently a smoking-friendly hotel, and they allow smoking cigars in the pool area (I complained and was informed by hotel staff that smoking IS ALLOWED in the pool area) and 2) service overall could be better and more compatible with hotel class and price. A few of the issues: 1) very lousy service in the pool area (most of the orders are forgotten and have to be re-ordered multiple times until you get it). Also had to deal with towel shortages - there were simply no towels available for guests at the pool and it took them over an hour to bring more towels. 2) inability to deal with dietary restrictions (they were unable to serve a meal with no salt added for my 9-month-old son). In fact, this hotel is not baby-friendly at all, with very little support provided. Wait until your little ones are at least 2 years old before bringing them. 3) mediocre breakfast with lots of low-quality practices: waffles and even tapiocas would be cooked ahead of time and left laying there for a long time before consumption. Most of the "hot" dishes were actually cold. Worst coffee I ever tasted (smelled of burnt rubber). Only the fruits were great and saved an otherwise bad breakfast experience. 4) room service was hit or miss (was served a completely burnt steak on new years eve), and sometimes took very long for the order to arrive. 5) mini-bar was not replenished daily (had to be requested) 6) checkin took almost 40 minutes and not because of lines - the process actually took that long. 7) Staff at Shiso japanese restaurant very unhelpful overall. They claimed there was no availability when they were completely empty with lots of free tables. Waiters were unprepared to explain the menu, and also forgot some items we ordered (which we ended up not having for lack of patience at this point). 8) very slow wi-fi - feels like being back in the 2000's. Be ready to simply use mobile data throughout your stay In summary, you can get better service at other hotels in Rio. But probably not better infrastructure.

Excellent hotel right in front of the ocean on one side and the other side is a lagoon so it is unique you are surrounded by water. Super nice modern architecture that we loved. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The spa is very relaxing with sauna and steam room. The breakfast buffet was nice even during the pandemic. They also upgraded us to an ocean front suite for being a Hyatt Globalist member and welcomed us with a bottle of champagne and chocolate and drinks at the bar. Overall, one of the nicest hotel/resort experience at many girls we stayed around the world. It was unfortunate that when we started the weather was not very warm so we didn't use the beach service or the pool.

The Grand Hyatt Rio is located some 20 km outside of the city right next to the beach. I stayed there for five consecutive nights. The check in was was very friendly and professional performed by the receptionist. They gave me a nicely designed room with an excellent view to the sea. The bed was very comfortable in my opinion. I was able to access their Grand Club lounge as I could redeem an appropriate voucher for that. In the evening they offered some snacks and drinks including delicious Caipirinhas! In the mornings breakfast was served in one of their restaurants. The had a huge selection of food to choose from. Undoubtedly I would book this Grand Hyatt hotel again in the future!
