Love this place. This place gives you that 70’s experience of an icecream parlor. They serve some of the best homemade ice cream’s in this area. They have a variety of different flavors and options to choose from including brownie sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, and shakes. This place is located right in front of Penn’s landing. Parking is a little problem in this area unless you find meter parking. Definitely worth a try.

This was at the top of my list! I really wanted to try the traditional root beer float. I’m usually an ice cream only person, but I couldn’t imagine not trying the soda, since it’s basically an homage to the old soda shops! I must say I wasn’t left dissatisfied at all. Usually with root beer floats you end up eating all the ice cream and then drinking some of the pop, but I actually had the opposite experience because the soda was so flavorful and refreshing? (It was strangely very drinkable) Anyways I was super glad I tried it and the ice cream was super good too! My friend got the banana ice cream and it was SO good! We also tried their ice cream cookie sandwich and it was AMAZING. The cookie was soft and chewy and definitely one of those desserts you have to eat right away before it gets too hard. ( I recommend sharing it) The prices were a little pricey, but I think it was definitely worth it!

Ive been here a number of times in the past few years. Its really cute and old timey like the area surrounding. Its is definitely a really great ice cream spot in philly They are really creative with the frozen snacks and have many good flavors. I love that it is home made and usually not extremely busy. Prices are kinda pricey, but it is totally worth it.

When there is a long line, you know the ice cream will be good! The Franklin Fountain is a beautiful ice cream shop located in old Philadelphia. The employees were all super friendly and they have unique and yummy flavors! I appreciated vegan and gluten free options. I got the vegan pumpkin in a cup it was delicious! Super smooth ice cream. Only thing was it was expensive but it was a nice treat!

Family-friendly words can not describe how good the milkshakes are here. I had the Sea Salt Caramel, and my wife had the Hydrox Cookie the Original OREO. I assume that we both got 'regular' thickness for our shakes because the cashier did not ask us what thickness we wanted and there was not an extra charge on the bill. So if my assumption is correct, WOW! We walked two blocks back to our car and drove 45 minutes home. I still had a little bit of milkshake left when we got home. That's how THICK it was. The flavor was perfect. We went on a Tuesday night, and there was still a line ending outside of the store. I can't wait to go again. I recommend purposely parking a few blocks away to help burn off those delicious calories.

Me & my family have gone here a couple times & loved it every single time! Always friendly staff, the inside is nice looking, a vintage vibe! 🤩 Their butter pecan is so good & their pumpkin ice cream tastes really fresh and as if they just blended up a pumpkin, which for me I wasn’t too big on but you might! Must try!

Stopped by for a treat after dinner. The sea salt caramel was incredible! My granddaughter tried the chocolate and loved every bite of it. There's so much more than ice cream, though. You won't regret ruining your diet by stopping here. Can't recommend it enough.

UNREAL! The best ice cream I have eaten. If you want ice cream this is worth the drive and a must do in Old City. I can taste that this is how ice cream is supposed to. The unique profiles are all there as is the texture, sweetness, complexity of all of the flavors combined. They also have drink refreshers too, and additional sundaes.

Very good! Lived up to the hype. Homemade ice cream, a lot of different flavors. Store is tight and I think they changed the cash only rule they were taking credit card when we were there. The peanut butter ice cream was really good as was the vegan chocolate which was coconut cream based and not bad for being vegan. Small cone was $7 which is 1 scoop medium gets you 2 for $10 honestly the small is a pretty big scoop definitely enough to fill most people.

Overrated! The ice cream and milkshake is really simple and the same as any other ice cream shops! I’ve had much more better and more delicious local ice creams in other cities and places. I like the indoor decoration however there is no room to sit inside and you have to wait outside to grab and go. Anyway, really expensive for its quality and tastes!

Amazing atmosphere and some of the best homemade ice cream I've ever had. If not the best no worst then second. The old world charm makes it even better. The whip cream was homemade as well......... OUTRAGEOUS!!!! Highly recommend going there and worth the drive💯

The ice cream was okay. The staff sucked. Not just one person. I was served by three people and each one seems like they didn’t want to be there. Not very outgoing or inviting. They got our order right, but nothing else. No greeting or how was your night, it was “What will you have?” Also a roll of the eyes when asking about a certain ice cream in the shake. Totally willing to pay extra but an attitude just for asking! Their tip jar was empty and I understand why. The place is just enough room to stand in line. They also ask you to stand around and wait for your order and give you things one at a time, not all at once. And everyone is standing there waiting, while people try to pay too. Kind of frustrating. It is okay to go once and see all the old things from an old soda fountain place. But not going back. Service sucked and no room to just look around with a constant line of people.

I recommend the Hot fudge Sundae (real hot fudge) and the Brioche waffle ice cream. For ice cream flavors, I recommend the pistachio-it has real pistachio inside. The price is a little too expensive. I am willing to try more though.

A Philadelphia Staple, the ice cream is simply delicious! It’s not much to say but the customer service is superb and there are various flavors to choose from. They stay open late even on weekdays, and in the summer they are packed. I don’t visit often but when in the area it’s always a must to stop pass. My favorite is the green tea and chocolate fudge brownie. They do let you taste the flavors before purchasing which is always a nice gesture.

The Honey Comb Ice Cream is a must, from the bee hive on the roof! Worth the wait. Most expensive ice cream... soft pretzel was okay. Old fashion ice cream parlor vibe.

Certainly a Ice Cream shop to visit, for the decor and scene, but I've had better ice cream many times. The box for the Franklin Mint is actually about a pint so that's either a lot, or perfect... you decide. It could definitely serve more than one person.

My favoriteeee ice cream! The flavors are exceptional and everyone is always so nice! Nice to see somewhere vintage with quality ice cream! Also, the weekends have crazy lines but it’s worth the wait!

Best ice cream I’ve had and I’ve had a lot. Caramel and Hot Fudge toppings were on point. Only negative was the price. $22 for a two scoop ice cream in a container with hot fudge and carame toppingl. I appreciate that they take Apple Pay and the ambiance is worth a visit alone.

I would recommend this place to anyone for the old timey ambiance and absolutely outstanding customer service! I went with some friends to Philly for the weekend and this place was one of the top items on our list. I personally ordered a cola and a Oreo milkshake and surprisingly neither tasted too sweet or filling. One of my friends tripped and dropped his ice cream before he got to even taste it. I asked if i could simply buy another and without hesitation they offered another one on the house.

Good selection of ice cream and a very cute old-fashioned aesthetic, but overpriced. I got the mint chip flavor and it was delicious.
