Excellent fine halal Afghan cuisine. Plenty of space to dine in. Must try their mantoo (beef dumplings with lentils and a yogurt sauce on top). Their lamb shank was very tender and Afghan carrot/raisin rice was also very delicious. Top it off with their baklava and chai or afghan tea!

We tried this place, because it was close, and I've had Pakistani and Iranian food, but not specifically Afghani before. I am going to be making my husband pick this up, when he goes to Philly! We had the Potato Bohlani, which I think came with the spicy sauce? And a mild green sauce. Delicious. Also got the mixed platter and combination Villekebab. I remembered to take a pic after it was almost done! No worries, there will be no left overs. If you haven't tried this place yet, please- do yourself a favor and pick this place! They had dine in, but we were nearby so, did pick-up. Great service! Lamb shanks next time!!

I found this location by seeing it across from our hotel. I am happy that I saw it because it was a new type of food that I can add to my list of trying. Upon walking in they have an electronic device that has the menu. The gentleman working was nice and accepted a request that I chose to change with no issue. I had the chicken platter I opted for fries instead of rice because i wanted to make it like a street food I’ve previously had. The food was AMAZING, flavorful and everything was equally proportioned. I love to mix my food and this was PERFECT! My daughter had the lamb and chicken combo and she really enjoyed it as well. We also tried the Potato Borani it’s was good and like nothing I’ve had before. They serve it with a sauce and that gives it a different type of twist, in a good way! I will definitely patronize this location whenever I come back into town!

The food was so fresh, authentic & full of flavor. We were a party of 6 and all got different entrees & apps. They were all great. The lamb was mouth-watering. Prices reasonable.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem after finishing my weight loss journey. Guys the food the atmosphere is amazing. I had the lamb shank , mix kebab platter and hummus with pita. It’s located on a busy street which is a plus. I will forever keep coming back for more.

I was looking for a halal place so found this one on the map. Not a visible one from far but I still got there. I've had munto-dumplings (beef) and baklava with ice cream. Munto was delicious with a creamy sauce on it. Service was good and the restroom was clean as well. Prices are reasonable.

5 stars across the board! This was our 1st time trying this place, and we are so glad we did. We ordered a lamb gyro and a combo platter. Some of the best food around! The gyro was so tender and even the pita was just oh so soft and yummy, and the lamb so tender. If you are in Philly and want a gyro or a great meat platter, you must try this place. Super friendly service, super nice place, and amazing and tasty food. Prices are super awesome too, especially given how expensive things have gotten. Thank you Villekebabs! EDIT (12.1): I am updating my review to say that i literally just ate one of the best Gyros I have EVER eaten in all of years. If you like gyros, you simply must try one from this restaurant. I also ask them to add some sliced onions, and just wow. If this Gyro had been my last meal, i would have died happily ( :

A great unassuming place to eat. We got combo kebabs and combo platter. Both were great. The kebabs are not only delicious, but also very succulent and melts in your mouth. The platter with the sauces were also delicious.

Been in Philly for a week and have been wanting to find good Afghani Kebabs for days. On my last night, I decided to search for it n found this restaurant right next to my hotel. Saw the 5 star reviews so I gave it a try. No regrets. The owner was really nice and explained the menu. Ended up with a combo platter (chicken, beef and lamb kebabs). Now, I eat a lot of kebabs but these were next level. Tender, juicy and the perfect texture to melt in your mouth with flavor. The traditional rice was amazing with carrot strips and raisins mixed in. Please do not hesitate to give this new Philly mom n pop shop a try when in the area.

Currently eating the chicken platter. $11 for a ton of food, the best chicken on rice I’ve ever had. Great value - had Dizengoff yesterday about 2 blocks away, this beats it by a mile (albeit not same type of food)

Our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the savory lamp platter and succulent lamb shanks to the refreshing salad and heavenly baklava, every dish surpassed perfection. A culinary delight that left us wanting more. Highly recommended!

Over rated restaurant: 1. Food was burnt and didn’t taste anything spectacular 2. There was no service but the bill includes a minimum tip already. No one comes to give you water nor ask hows the food after it’s served 3. Dirty floors and toilet 4. Food took a long time. Just make sure you ask them how long it takes for the food to be ready rather than waiting for too long.

There is literally nothing I can add to the other five star reviews of this place. You need to eat here! The atmosphere is very nice as is the service. I enjoyed the potatoes Borani and lamb giro. The lamb on the giro literally melted in my mouth. Fantastic and I will be back!

My husband and I have started Alphabet dating where we go through the alphabet and go on a date and a meal starting with that letter. This week, was A. We went here because it’s an Afghan restaurant. We chose this specific restaurant because of the great reviews and it really does live up to the hype! The combo platter was AMAZING. Amazing tasting rice and the meat was so tender. Perfect amount of salad too. Plus our waiter was so sweet too and the price was so affordable. Definitely a hidden gem!

The food was absolutely delicious. I got the combo platter that came with the falafel, chicken, and lamb. All was well seasoned. The reviews weren't kidding when they said the meat melts in your mouth. Good for takeout and dining in. The restaurant and staff are warm, attentive, and welcoming. It was so good I brought someone with me the next day. I'm already planning my way back.

We did takeout while visiting from out of town. The restaurant was so nice and clean from the inside and customer service was exceptional. We ordered a mixed platter, a chicken kabob platter and an eggplant dish. The food was some of the best food I’ve had in a long while. So flavorful and so delicious. There is construction in the area so you have to walk to the location from your parking on the street.

Excellent food and services. Prices were reasonable also. Beautiful restaurant, great ambiance. Highly recommend (chai sucked. Don't get that)

Very very good. Got the combo platter, amazing texture and seasoning and I liked the smaller piece size of the meat, it got more crispiness.

First time here and just got appetizers but really good. I will definitely back. The dumpling stuff with chicken on top with lentils was incredible.

Stopped by for an early dinner. Food is good and prepared fresh. Really enjoyed the appetizers including the dumplings. Kebabs were competent. Lamb especially.

I'm a transplant from a small town. I had no idea what to expect when it came to Afghan food, the closest I'd ever had was the chicken-over-rice halal platters from a food truck. Wow. It is delicious. The spices and seasoning on these dishes are incredible, the dahl in particular is worth checking out. They have the standard chicken or lamb wraps - those are delicious - but I definitely recommend ordering something you've maybe never had or even heard of before. Because it's guaranteed to be delicious. And the indoor seating and atmosphere are great, a mix between casual and formal, with lots of two-top tables.

Wife and I were in town this weekend and we’re looking for something different to try. This was a really great spot. The food was delicious and the staff were really awesome as well. I would recommend this place to anyone in town. The taste of everything was really good.
