Lovely bar, good food, good list of beers (6-ish drafts, many more bottled), and excellent, attentive, friendly service definitely will return ☺

A genuine Irish pub in the heart of Philly. Ran across this quaint pub while exploring the city. Nick was great, greeted us as soon as we walked in and was very helpful. His pub had a very local feel and seems like a great place to catch the game and have a few beers with friends after work.

Standard pub food but stellar service. I popped in on St. Patrick’s Day and got prompt, friendly service. The Guinness was cold and the pot pie serviceable.

Friendly staff. Good vibes. Food is reasonably priced, but the Fish and Chips resembles a kid's meal. The fish looks like it's just a store-bought frozen breaded cod, which I wouldn't pay $18 for. For the same money, you can get actually homemade beer-battered cod in other Irish pubs in the city.

Brilliant find in Philadelphia located near the train station. As tourists from the UK, we were made to feel very welcome in the bar by both the 2 lovely waitresses and fellow people in the bar. On top of that the Guinness was very good and the atmosphere was positive. Very much recommend coming here for anyone wanting a trip in the city.

The service is impeccable! So friendly and down to earth, seriously the best people. Beers are delicious and 50 cent hot dogs are the best deal in the city. I love this bar

It’s just a lovely place. Very nice and cheap drinks, especially the towers of beer are a great deal. Cathy is just perfect. She knows how to handle her guests and knows how to make sure that everybody has a great evening. Very very nice place!!

Went here for a quick bite and it was very good! The fries were good and battered and it was one of the best grilled cheese I have had in a long time. Stephanie was also great and super helpful.

Corner pub within walking distance of Rittenhouse area and hotels. Reasonable paid parking on 24th, just couple hundred feet away, if needed. WARMEST, most friendly staff AND customers we've found in Philly. If you leave without knowing a few names you've done something wrong. Menu has bar food, soups, fish&chips, plenty of sandwiches, burgers etc. An excellent French onion soup. I think you'll find something for all tastes. We had great service and food and I tipped appropriately. Nothing crazy, but just a little generous. Bartender made a trip over to come up and thank me. Now, where does that happen? This place! I will be back, and back, and back until they 86 me out of the place, then I'll come back in disguise. Great place. Great people.

This is NOT the best bar in Philadelphia, as others have stated in their reviews. This place is very old and not kept up the best. The food is average. The service was decent, but the guy was new. The Flies in the place were an issue. I would go elsewhere. I am not a fan and would never go back

Very friendly staff here. You are greeted when you walk in the door with immediate service. Prompt service all around. It's not uncommon to be called hun or sweetie by the staff. I took it as an endearing gesture. Not a true sports bar. They have multiple TVs but not advertised to get all Football or baseball games. If you are looking for an out market game, try a sports bar in the area.

The perfect neighborhood bar. The drinks are great, the food rarely disappoints, and staff is top notch. If you’re looking for recommendations, the wings, quesadillas, and shepherds pie are worth trying. If you can’t find parking next door, you can always find easy parking on the Walnut St bridge.

My partner and I had an unexpected delay while waiting on the Megabus from Philly to DC, it was around 1am and the Amtrak station was only open for Amtrak customers to sit inside so we looked for a bar that would be open for another hour so we could sit thereversus standing out in the cold, and Bonner’s popped up in my google search. When we got there they were no longer serving food and we didn’t want to drink anything more than soda or water, but we had the kindest waitress Cathy, who could sense something was wrong, asked us what we needed, encouraged me to charge my phone, and to wait there until we closed. She even gave us some potato chips to snack on since the kitchen was closed. She constantly checked on us, made us laugh, and lifted our spirits during a very frustrating experience. I would recommend this place and plan to go back based on Cathy’s kindness and customer service alone!!

You come here looking for craft cocktails and obsequious service, you can go jump in the Schuylkill, if you can figure out how to pronounce it. This is a neighborhood bar. It says Bonner's above the door because Danny Bonner runs it. You come to sit at the bar with a couple people, to meet your neighbors or to get loaded in the middle of the night with your hockey team. Cathy and co will take care of you either way. If you're not too obnoxious. Come and appreciate a sense of place and the cheapest Yuengling in Philly.

We planned an End of Semester Happy Hour through our university at Bonner's Irish Pub in May 2023. It was a great experience and I highly recommend Dan, Kathy, and the Bonner's team. They had a nice event space set up for us and handled alcohol and food orders quickly. For ~30 people, the space was more than large enough and it was nice for people to sit outside if they wanted as well. Overall, we have no complaints and want to wholeheartedly recommend Bonners for other student events.

I went to this pub with my husband while we were waiting for our pick up food order. It was kind of n accidental find. I am glad we went here. We had 3 beers- Love City, Guinness, sour monkey, and Cajun fries. The bill was only $21. Fries were crispy. I Loved the pub vibe. Having lived in Ireland I was very pleased that random strangers could have a good craic at Bonner's. Can't wait to visit again with my friends

When you are looking for the local Home-town field in a great Tap Room, Bonner's is the place for you. Good beer list and excellent food should make this a definite stop on anyone's list. And after a nice walk on the Schuylkill path, it is the closest place to wet your whistle. The staff are friendly and ready to fulfill your every need. Will definitely be back soon!

Cool spot, Thank you maddog pavement! Parking, parking, parking, that is all I will say about parking, or lack there of. I loved the place and people but liked the cheesesteak. It was very tasty and had great meat/roll/fried onions, mushrooms ratios but it was small. It did come with french fries and was under $10. They had a nice lunch crowd and the specials sounded great!

Never been until last night but let me gush a little about this "pub" hidden down center city with PARKING right out the door! If you want the Olden Days warm safe feel of the corner pubs... go to Bonners! You walk in and hear everyone yell "NORM" like from the TV show "CHEERS"! Well not really but now you got what I'm describing...I like this place. My good buddy Chuck celebrated his birthday there last night and Bonner's hosted it. I gushed enough...it's a really friendly Irish-pub...

Good, reasonably priced local watering hole. Cajun fries could have used a little more seasoning .grilled cheese & French onion soup were good.

It was a moody night; tornadoes had just torn through the Midwest. The storm was bearing down on us here out east so we took refuge in Bonners pub. Cathy’s warmth was the salve we needed from the murky wet, and her fully loaded margarita took my breath away. A genuine haven in a city that is so often epitomised by incentives other than love.

This bar was somewhat off putting when I came by for a quick drink. The few patrons they had were very drunk while bartenders clearly didn't want to be there. The drink I had didn't even make up for the environment. Overall, wouldn't recommend.

  • 1/5 Gennifer B. 1 year ago on Google
They had little to no drinks the soda was flat and the cranberry juice tasted like water. The food was mediocre at best. Maybe the alcoholic drinks are better I don't know because I didn't have one.

We just stopped in to take a load off after a day of visiting medical museums. We had fries and drinks, which were delicious. Not crazy about the Fox news on the TV. Service was great.

Can not recommend Bonners enough for an event - threw a 30th birthday and Dan was amazing to work with. Very responsive while planning and also that night couldn’t have been more helpful to make sure we had everything we needed. The staff was also very friendly / good energy to be around and made sure we were taken care of. We had plenty of space and everyone had such a good time. Highly suggest doing an event here and would do one again!
