Scam
Alert:
I
was
there
for
a
business
trip.
The
room
and
stay
itself
was
great.
However,
my
credit
card
alerted
me
one
night
during
my
stay
about
a
$20.05
charge.
I
called
front
desk
the
next
morning,
they
said
it's
just
an
authorization,
not
a
charge.
I
trusted
them.
The
next
couple
of
nights,
I
saw
a
couple
more
charges
around
60
dollars.
It
felt
strange
but
I
didn't
have
time
to
call
them
again
(I
thought
it
was
some
sort
of
security
deposit
or
that
authorization
hold
type
of
thing
again).
When
I
checked
out
at
the
front
desk,
I
spoke
to
their
staff
whose
name
is
Lester.
He
said
I
have
a
parking
charge.
I
immediately
told
him
no,
I
don't
have
a
car,
I
am
here
for
work,
and
our
office
is
right
around
the
corner,
2
minutes
walk
and
I
don't
need
a
car.
I
don't
know
why
I
even
have
to
explain
something
I
didn't
do
(It's
ridiculous).
Lester
said
that
he
disputed
it
and
I
am
all
set
and
I
won't
receive
a
bill.
I
asked
Lester
for
a
printed
copy
of
the
receipt.
He
rejected
me,
saying
that
they
don't
give
receipts
because
it
was
booked
by
third
party
(I
assume
he
was
referring
to
the
travel
agent
our
company
uses).
It
felt
a
little
strange,
but
I
trusted
him.
Just
when
I
got
home
tonight,
I
received
an
email
from
them,
with
a
parking
bill
of
$60.03.
I
am
literally
speechless.
I
had
to
reply
to
them
in
the
email
again
the
same
thing
I
told
Lester.
I
guess
I
have
no
choice
but
to
share
this
experience
here
and
be
prepared
to
report
scam
to
my
credit
card
company.
UPDATE
(Sept
3,
2023):
Lester
called
me
and
explained
that
the
charge
was
accidentally
added
back
to
my
bill
after
he
disputed
it.
He
has
corrected
it,
and
sent
me
an
updated
bill
-
where
it
indicates
I
should
be
receiveing
a
refund.
I
SO
MUCH
appreciate
Lester's
professionalism
and
putting
customer
first,
and
for
his
help
not
only
the
first
time
when
I
checked
out,
but
also
following
up
on
the
phone
with
me
today
to
resolve
the
issue.
Applause
to
him.
