Only had a chance to stay in Philly for a single night, but the Kestrel was perfect for our needs. The room was stylish, clean, and the bed was comfortable. We appreciated the private garage and central location. And Chris and Dan were amazingly responsive and accommodating. Their recommendation for Cafe Lift just a few blocks away really hit the spot before driving back out of town. This was a great experience and would definitely stay again if it's available the next time we're in Philly.

Loved staying here! Beautiful & serene. The bed was so comfortable & we used the pullout sofa bed for the kids. Such a vibrant and fun part of the city. Persimmon Coffee was so delicious right around the corner in the morning & our dinners at Laser Wolf & Pizzeria Beddia were well worth the short walk. We saw a few live shows right nearby as well. Will definitely be back for another get always.

The room is not easy to find - its more like an apartment, I think mgmt should make that a bit clearer. It is not a standard, typical hotel with a lobby - at least the fish town location. That being said, the room is AMAZING. Design and layout are near perfection. The only suggestion is to add a small coat closet or area to hang coats, bags, etc.

We were at Kestrel during the Philadelphia Marathon weekend and it was one of the best stays we ever had in Philly. The location was perfect to walk around everywhere and the room had amazing facilities and neat touches to make you feel at home. We had access to the best food in town in walking distance. We had very good sleep in the loft and I can attribute that to a very good run in the Philadelphia marathon. One thing to consider (not a con), the place doesn’t have a TV. If you or your family needs entertainment. We had no issues with the same as we mostly spent time outside exploring. Overall you can’t go wrong with the Kestrel, highly recommended.

I stayed in the Rail Park Studio at Kestrel Hotel, located at 1231 Wood St. Excellent location. So quiet!! Coffee shop and pizza place so close. I felt very safe and really liked the key pad entry ways.

Place was very clean and in good proximity to places within Fishtown. The space was large and opened with a nice sitting and eating area. Would recommend staying here and stay at this location again.

Enjoyed my short stay at the Kestrel Hotel! The room was spacious and clean. Communication at time of booking, at time of check-in and check-out was great! Location was perfect and close to the convention center. Highly recommend!!

The Kestrel's Poor Richard room was a very nice studio and a pleasant stay. It suited my needs quite well. I was in town from Boston for a few days of flight training, and the Kestrel served as a convenient home base for me where I could study, sleep, relax, run, get great coffee, and easily downtown Philly's historical sites. The Kestrel even provided a Chemex brewer and kettle in the room. I will stay at the Kestrel again.

Picked this hotel because the location was perfect and the price was fair. Was staying for two nights to see concerts at the union transfer, and this hotel was within perfect walking distance. Cozy room, all of the amenities provided were beyond expectations, full kitchen. Great place to stay! We will definitely be back in the future!

We have stayed here four years in a row while attending a convention. It’s a short walk to reading market and the convention center. They are wonderful about getting back to us when we have any questions. And the best part is that it is so clean. My friend who suffers from allergies always has issues in hotels but not here, she remarked that she didn’t even have to bring her air purifier.

Awesome hotel with great views, all the necessary amenities, and super easy self check in. Other than some delay in getting the check in info, the hosts were extremely responsive via email and phone for our short stay. Next time in Philly I would definitely try to to stay with Kestrel again!

We stayed from Friday Dec 8th to Sunday Dec 10th. Check in and check out were a breeze. The room was great. The location was perfect for us (near our daughter's apt) and in the heart of Philly. Close to many restaurants, bars, and the Christmas market. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.
