The Liberty Bell is a symbol of freedom, but do you know why? This exhibit will walk you through its history. Go at your own pace. If you want to read and watch everything, it will take about 45 min. I recommend the video right before the Liberty Bell, super informative. Also talk to the staff they are friendly and knowledgeable! One fact: this bell is the second, the first had to be melted down and recast many years ago.

Very nicely history is being preserved here. Bell has a visible broad cut from one side. Everything about this place and the bell 🔔 is nicely written (with pictures) in the wall. They also have recorded videos getting played at multiple spaces here. They have airport like security checks before you reach the Liberty bell. Bell is kept very neat and clean, tied and is displayed from 3-4 feet distance. Guards are present at regular intervals to maintain law & order. Bell is visible from multiple glasses from outside as well. Paid Parking 🅿️ is available around market place. See pics and videos for more details. Thanks 😊👍

We got there fairly early as soon as they opened and so the wait was very brief. The entrance is free and there are no timed tickets etc necessary. There is security and scanners- so plan for the wait. No food and drink allowed - so plan for the coffee to be done as well. :) The exhibit is wonderful- the Bell quite spectacular. The Park Rangers are all very pleasant and engaging. The backdrop of the Bell against the tower in the Independence Hall is quite stunning and humbling. Highly recommend this stop. Also the exhibit on the display in the center was very good as well.

A great quick little historical stop in a City full of history. Extremely helpful and patient staff. The venue isn’t the largest of spaces, and with Covid protocol, there could be a bit of line to get in as they’re only allowing small groups at a time. But on the bright side, it’s Free!

It's been a very long time since I've been to the Liberty Bell, certainly prior to 2003 when they built the new building. The new exhibit was stunning - the layout was easy to follow, there was so much to read and learn, and they had a good mix of audio/visual to plain reading. Such an important part of our nation's history!

It’s cool to see but underwhelming. Thankfully it’s free, so points there!! It’s cool the view of independence hall right in the back but you really don’t spend more than like 5 minutes here. I attached the picture of the bell, that’s basically it y’all. Also they had high security here but the people working there were knowledgeable on Philadelphia history.

So much history is tucked away in this historic town. Visitors can feel the fabric of American society being woven as they navigate through the relics of time. Paid tickets into the independence hall and the liberty bell not required after 5pm.

We arrived to view the Liberty Bell around 3 PM. There was a parking garage just 3 blocks away which was convenient. The line was relatively short, about 20 people deep. The location had some great facts, and it was awesome to see the Liberty Bell!!

What a piece of history. There is a ton of information as you walk in. Plenty of people working to answer any questions and explain some of the history. He bell is very well taken care of. There are also some remains of Washington's home to view. I'm glad we are still able to view such an important piece of American history.

Pros: Historical significance Educational exhibits Interactive displays Clean and well-maintained facilities Convenient location Cons: Can be crowded, especially on weekends Lines can be long, especially during peak times Overall, I would highly recommend the Liberty Bell to anyone interested in American history. The bell itself is a powerful symbol of freedom and democracy, and the exhibits and displays do a great job of explaining its history and significance. The interactive displays are also a lot of fun, and they help to make learning about history more engaging.

An awesome spot to visit! Very historic. I especially loved that you can visit the bell during night and day. At night there is an area with button, and you can choose a history narrative in your own language! Very convenient, your own tour guide for free provided :) I also loved the historic buildings in the area too. A great place to visit, lots of paid parking available in undercover garages and on the street. However do be weary about parking and walking around on your own too late in the evening. I did see a number of police cars patrolling the area, so still felt safe.

I loved seeing the Liberty Bell! It’s located in the Liberty Bell Center, a part of the National Park Service. This museum is free to enter. Be prepared to wait in line and go through a security check. Inside the museum you can enjoy the displays and artifacts, participate in interactive exhibits and learn about the Liberty Bell. The Bell itself is awesome, and you can get great photos and selfies. The park rangers are also there to educate the visitors. This stop is a must on any trip to Philadelphia.

Very cool place to go check out if you're in the area. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Very educational and cool at the same time!! There is an upstairs where you can have a bite to eat and it has a great view. The bathrooms were very clean and family friendly.

Great little Museum that happens to be a national park. I found the exhibits to be fairly enlightening I had no idea there was so much history around the actual Liberty bell. The museum was free to get into and there were people there to ask questions if you need it. Not much to the museum so don't expect a lot.

This requires tickets. You can purchase the day you are there or even while standing in front of building. We were there in off season though so availability may differ in summer months. It’s about 45 minutes and you see 2 rooms. Standing only and 4 steps. If you love History, you will enjoy.

One of the most famous bells in the world, and certainly the most famous in the United States, the Liberty Bell is located on Independence Mall, just north of Independence Hall. To enter the Liberty Bell Center may take, on average, 20 minutes. The Bell can be seen from outside. One of the most significant symbols of freedom, a must see.

You can just drop in for free and see this iconic object, with a rich history. Plenty of information and some clear acknowledgement that those "founding fathers" didn't get it all right ... it was great to see the actual bell. You can right up close and personal ... it's not stuck behind glass or anything. But no touching. And definitely no attempting to ring it!!

What an interesting piece of American and Philadelphia history. Who would have known so much about the history if we hadn't ventured inside. Free admission is not something you get every day and the lines moved quiet quickly

This historical location for the US. The line today wasn’t bad about 15 mins. I’ve seen the line as long as 1 hour. You will need to go through metal detector to get in. The agents had no patience for any questions so be prepared. Once inside, they give you so much info about this liberty bell. It will take about 20-30 mins to read through. And on the way out just stop by and take a photo with an actual bell. Fun time.

A great little stop while we were in Philly. The displays and information on the history were great and we were in and out in under an hour including a stop at the gift shop! The bell is smaller than expect, but I recommend stopping there if you’re in the area. The visitors center was wonderful and they provided great information about where to eat and visit!

Great place. Acknowledges the complications of history and provides a fair perspective. Must see in Philly. Would be great if they can put shade by the waiting area.

When you get to the actual bell and give yourself time to reflect on it and think about its importance it is a great moment. I wish that somehow the exhibit could be different the glass walls and snaking lines feel like a cheap airport. Worth the wait at the end.

First time in Philadelphia and came to see the bell. It was uneventful but a nice piece of American history to see. I came during a weekday. I did not have to wait just a couple of minutes to get in. I had to go through an x-ray and a metal detector to enter the building. It seems to be easily accessible for anybody with disabilities. There’s a long hallway with some history and photos leading up to the actual bell itself. There was a person there who could offer some explanations about the bell and crack. It doesn’t take that long to go through the entire exhibit.

The line was long but moving quickly. The guards were efficient. I hadn't been in decades, so it was nice to visit as an adult and really soak in the exhibits and the bell. Great photo opp as well.

Wow the best thing ever! You enter through security which you have to take of your (sweater,bag/purse,mobile phones and any belongings in your pockets) and once you walk in there is a sort of exhibit that you can walk through . Then the liberty bell is great!!!

We always love national parks and visiting the Liberty Bell is no exception. The visitor center is great, well built and maintained, and the only restroom in the vicinity of the Liberty bell. The museum is airy and well lit. There are great interpretive signs all over the museum. The collection is great and covers a lot of the revolutionary period focusing on the lives of the founding fathers. There is a sub exhibit for the history of women's rights that is worth some time. There is another one for the history of civil rights and the life of slaves and freed men and women in the colonial era. The Park Service is doing a great job spacing out the visitors to keep the indoor crowds small. It is heartening to know that they care enough to keep us all safe and to take reasonable precautions. We always love visiting this museum. It is worth your time.

This is free to get in to. The Liberty bell is inside the building so you have to wait in line to go in. A few things to read inside, but really not much. Nothing interactive, probably not great for kids.

Excellent FREE piece of American History to explore. They have lots of plaques inside the visitors center describing how the bell was made, when it rang, where its traveled to, how the crack was formed, and more. Across the street from Independence Hall, close to George Washington’s old home, and right next to the Visitors Center, there’s lots to do in this little area!

It's been probably 20 years or more since I have seen the Liberty Bell, and it was not in this location when I saw it last. Regardless, it's great to be reminded of our nation's history, the importance it was given, the sacrifices that were made, and the care that went into building it even if it is going down the toilet today.

Visit the iconic symbol of freedom at no cost. Independence Mall is home to the renowned Liberty Bell. You can view the bell's back without waiting in line. Note: Expect airport-style security for tours around Independence Mall.

This was a really great part of our visit to Philadelphia. It’s filled with so much history, and the Liberty Bell was quite impressive. Would recommend if you are visiting Philadelphia. Definitely check out the Liberty Bell if you have some time. The wait time was not too long when we visited. We only waited in line about 15 minutes.

Our visit to Philadelphia was in January and winter. The weather was expected to be cold and the museum offered a nice place to warm up for our adventure to visit the historical artifact. Staff was friendly, you do go through security so be prepared to accommodate the security team. It was a nice display of history and easy access for all. Free Admission.

Beautiful symbol of Freedom recognized worldwide. Inside there is a museum area and right behind the bell sits a beautiful garden as a backdrop. Worth visiting if you are into places of historical significance.

Independence Hall was well-preserved. I was intrigued to learn that the original White House was here. I like the history in Philadelphia

  • 4/5 Oofrish V C. 5 months ago on Google
The entire Historic District should be explored on foot only. The building in which the Liberty Bell is showcased is nice with a lawn and the experience starts with a history and significance of this great bell and how it was a symbol for liberty and freedom not just for Americans, but for many global situations. The entire trip at Liberty Bell would take about 40 minutes to an hour, culminating with a few moments at the Bell itself. Your trip to Philadelphia is not complete without this.

  • 4/5 Bill D. 5 months ago on Google
Awesome and historic part of town. The line was crazy to get in to the Liberty Bell, so we were content to see it through the window. The grounds are free of charge so that was easy to do.

Historical place that should be high on your list to visit. The building the Liberty Bell is located in is very well done and has a lot of information about it inside. The line to get through security was a bit long when we got there but it moved very fast. It is free to see the bell and overall a pretty quick visit that is worth it in my opinion.

  • 5/5 Theresa R. 2 years ago on Google
Very interesting and powerful to see the Liberty Bell and learn all about the history of it as you walk up to the bell. The building has high ceilings, air conditioned and there's plenty of room for distancing. Security did a great job monitoring the amount of people coming and going.

The Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a truly remarkable and historically significant site. Steeped in the rich tapestry of American history, it stands as a powerful symbol of freedom and independence. The experience of witnessing this iconic bell, with its famous crack, is both awe-inspiring and educational. The surrounding exhibits provide a comprehensive understanding of the bell's role in shaping the nation. A visit to the Liberty Bell is a must for anyone seeking a deeper connection to America's past.

Although I've been to Philadelphia several times for doctor appointments and surgery, I had never walked around the city. It was neat to read about and see all of the historical sites, including the liberty bell.

It was amazing! I visited Philadelphia recently for the Army Navy Game and decided to visit the bell since I was in town. I was pleased to find that visiting the bell was COMPLETELY FREE. Amazing! And I also learned that tours of liberty hall were only 1 dollar! The rangers were knowledgeable and polite. I can’t wait to visit again!

It’s an icon, not only for the US, but also for the world. It’s the ultimate symbol of democracy, freedom of speech, equality, human rights, you name it. It’s the icon of protest of all mass revolution. It’s a must visit place if you are in the Philly area. And the best thing is that it’s free. You don’t have to pay anything. However, most of the times it’s crowded. So expect a wait time. The humongous bell is something to witness. It’s cracked and now de commissioned. It’s basically kept for the show. Most of the political leaders and icons have visited this place. Don’t miss it.

This is one of those things that you just have to stop and see. There was no cost to get in, but you do have to go through a security checkpoint. Only took a few minutes to get in. Before you get to the bell itself there is lots of educational material to absorb. Not gonna lie... I expected the bell itself to be much bigger than it is. Still a great piece of history and worth stopping to see.

06/20/23 - short line, not particularly busy, weather was perfect. I love the preservation of history! It was equally viewable all the way around. Plenty to read and look at while standing in line to see the bell itself! Make the time, I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. There was not much of a line at all. Total time in and out was less than an hour.

"The Liberty Bell is an iconic symbol of American independence, located in Philadelphia. It gained iconic importance when abolitionists in their efforts to put an end to slavery throughout America adopted it as a symbol." Great place to visit with family. You may need 1 - 1.5 hours; lots of informative displays about the bell and its history. Take a good / high resolution camera to take clear photos of the displays and the supporting fine / small text, which would be otherwise difficult to capture clearly using a mobile.

  • 4/5 Jeremiah W. 1 year ago on Google
It was a nice place to visit and get the history behind it. Parking- no real parking at the site, but there is a parking garage across the street. The parking garage has a low clearance, so be sure you have a small vehicle or small SUV. Museum- you will have to stand in line to get into the building and also go through a metal detector. Just as you were to walk through the airport security. Closed bottles are ok, but no food or open drinks. Pics are allowed and standing next to the Liberty Bell.

This is nice place lots of history, the Liberty Bell star of show. The wait was about 15 minutes and they made sure to move the line very quickly this was an amazing experience to see not just “Is Liberty Bell”. But the history of the Bell and what it means just as Americans, But to others from the other parts of the world. It is something for everyone to see and take how lucky you are to live in the United States.

A very well run historic Park in a downtown setting. Very well set up with very informative park rangers. I so enjoyed seeing parts of our nation's beginning. And learning more than I ever did in school. It brings our history to life.

The amount of history enveloped in this, Liberty Bell is unfathomable. This place is busy at all times of the day, so you can expect at least a 15 minute wait. To see the bell itself, there are no tickets required. Simply join the line and go through security before you are able to see it. The exhibit is pretty nice, and it is incredible to see the bell itself. I highly recommend going across the street to the visitor center for even more exhibits and videos.

This place is nice a lot of history in this place a lot of solicitors as well then like on every corner you had someone trying to sell you something and make you buy something the park rangers were really nice and well informed I liked how they kept it looking somewhat the way it did back when the forefathers were around back when the supreme Court was in Philadelphia but there was a lot of educational material in the building with the Liberty Bell and all of the offices was very knowledgeable and helpful would definitely recommend making a trip out here to see

If you're in Philadelphia, make sure to visit this place. Depends on the time and day you visit, it could be crowded, but the line moves quickly. Before reaching the Bell, it's a good idea to read some intriguing historical information. The surrounding area is also quite nice.

Must do if you go to Philadelphia. We went early on a weekday morning soon after it opened and experienced really no wait other than getting our pictures with the bell. Some decent historical information to see before you get to the bell. Without a large crowd, it really doesn’t take much time to check this out at all. No tickets or admission fee required. Just walk up and go in.

So yeah this is an important part of American history but honestly I felt a bit underwhelmed by it. It was cool but It was ok. The wait was very long for what it is. It did have a cool kind of museum attached on the idea of freedom which I did enjoy.

It is something for everyone to see and take how lucky you are to live in the United States. And to remember those who gave everything not just back then. But for those even still severing in are arm forces and are first responders.

A great experience to see the legendary bell directly in person. It’s a short visit, with pictures explaining the history of the bell, the reason for the crack and much more. There usually a waiting line of nearly 30 minutes, if not more. A mini park for relaxing too. Staff are nearly friendly but could be better.
