At first I was questioning the quality of the tour from first looks at the guide. But wow was he knowledgeable. And from looking at other tours with the tour guides that were dressed up in outfits but had really big groups, I was so glad and happy we went with Grim Philly. Oh and you must ask for the guide to be Joseph. He was the best and made the tours fun and we learned a lot more then I thought. Great job Joseph.

Grim Philly night tour was easily the best tour we have ever encountered anywhere. If you’ve taken walking tours before you know by now that the tour experience is based solely on the factual knowledge and personality of the individual leading the group. These instructors are lifelong area historians with college degrees in related fields. Along with this if you listen to the podcast, the grim Philly team perform countless hours of research to back up their knowledge and information they provide to you. Our guide Ted was no exception! His high school history teacher was chocked, full of personality and knowledge! We did the night tour, so keep in mind. This is an adults only tour and expect there to be some adult themes, twists in language spoken, which we loved! Come prepared, as these are walking tours and take place rain or shine. Once again thank you TED AND GRIM PHILLY for an amazing experience. I only wish you had Boston and NYC yours!

Joe was an amazing tour guide! We loved hearing about the scandalous side of some our founding fathers. The ghost stories were great too. This tour is definitely worth taking! Thanks, Joe!

Great tour! Toni was tons of fun and made the whole thing. Tons of info and the interesting bits you don't hear at the day tours. Ran about 2 hours which was better than we expected. Gentle walking and even moments to sit. Appropriate for any of age. Cursing allowed and encouraged! We had a blast.

Amazing tour. I have done many night / ghost tours in historic cities, and this one was the most well done, intriguing, and downright hilarious. Madame Toni is articulate, brilliant, and an incredible story teller.

Toni was an amazing tour guide! Clearly knowledgeable but also absolutely hilarious, and definitely kept morale and interest up on the super cold night we did the tour. If you're staying at the Thomas Bond house (also highly recommended), the tour ends right outside! Overall, would highly highly recommend - definitely a highlight of our trip to Philly

We had a phenomenal time at our tour with Joe from Grim Philly. Educational, shocking, and attention-grabbing. As the content warnings on the website and everything say, this is for sure an adult and mature tour for those not easily offended. We thought it was well planned will definitely be returning for one of their many other tour offerings.

Our guide Sarah on 7/29 was amazing. She remembered every group member's name and where they were from, she was informative, hilarious, and engaging. She made sure everyone was included and remained respectful of the sites and the history of the city.

The tour was very interesting and engaging. Kyle did a great job covering the first four presidents, Ben Franklin and Alexander Hamilton. By selecting participants from different families to represent the historical figures, even the younger ones listened.

Sara is an absolutely killer tour guide. She has a bold sense of humor that will keep you laughing throughout, has vast knowledge of the seedier side of Philadelphia history, and is loud enough that you can hear her through the constant loud motor traffic of Philadelphia. She is clearly a proud Philadelphian (and doesn't hold back the trash talk of other cities) and her passion makes the tour click so well. Go experience it!

I recently had the pleasure of taking the history of Philadelphia tour with Kyle, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Kyle's knowledge and passion for the city's history were truly remarkable. From the moment the tour began, it was clear that Kyle was not just a tour guide but a true historian. He effortlessly weaved together the rich tapestry of Philadelphia's past, making each historical site come alive with captivating stories and anecdotes. I was impressed by his deep understanding of the city's history, from the American Revolution to the founding fathers and beyond. What made this tour even more enjoyable was Kyle's engaging and friendly personality. He encouraged questions and interactions, which made the tour feel more like a conversation with a knowledgeable friend than a scripted presentation. His enthusiasm was infectious, and it was evident that he genuinely cared about sharing the city's history with us. Throughout the tour, Kyle took us to iconic landmarks like Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and many hidden gems that I wouldn't have discovered on my own. His ability to connect the past with the present, drawing parallels to Philadelphia's modern-day culture and significance, added a unique depth to the experience. I left the tour not only with a newfound appreciation for Philadelphia's history but also with a sense of connection to this incredible city. Thanks to Kyle's expertise and passion, this history tour was a memorable and enriching journey through time. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Philadelphia or even locals looking to rediscover their city's heritage. Kyle truly made history come alive, and I can't thank him enough for such an enjoyable and educational experience.

Incredible tour! Our guide, Toni, was the most fun and entertaining guide we could’ve asked for. My favorite part was the scary tales told about Washington Square as we stood there.

Lots of details, out your guide Josephgot teens hooked and that is always great. It was nice to have a history tour. We have done a fun tour. So this was pleasantly welcoming. Joseph kept eye contact with everyone and this shows great confidence in tour guide.

Great historical tour, our guide Joseph was great! Even gave great restaurant ideas afterwards, super informative and reminded us of our Founding Fathers and the beginning of our democracy ; incredible to be “in the room where it happened “

We took a 2 PM walking tour with Joseph. He knows his stuff and is a wonderful tour guide of Philly. We learned so much that text books don’t teach in school. Would definitely recommend this company and guide.

I pinky swore with Mistress Toni that I would leave this review, and I'm keeping my word! This tour was one of the few things I actually enjoyed on my visit to Philadelphia for my birthday. The traffic and rude people I encountered in this city were enough for me to say I never want to visit again. But, there were a few bright spots during the trip, and this was definitely one of them. Just a tip, there is a parking garage near the meeting point for this tour on Market Street that is very affordable when you use the Spot Hero app. The parking was close, and the meeting spot was easy to find. Mistress Toni showed up early and made sure she got us all checked in. We headed over across the street to start the tour, where the first story we heard about told the story of one of George Washington's slaves who ran away but was hunted to the end of her life. It made me so sad but is an ugly piece of history that needs to be told to keep anything so horrific from ever happening again. Toni led us through parks and past historic buildings and told us many stories with an unrivalled sense of humour. She had one of those senses of humour that make you want to bar-hop with her until the sun comes up. I would seriously drive back to Philly just to hang out with her all night. We heard about the ghosts in the park...and I cannot remember the name of said park, which is embarrassing. There was this great moment when she passed around a page with images of pubic wigs (if you want to hear that story, you must take the tour) and included was Trump with his nightmare combover. There were a couple of Magas who weren't too impressed, which made me laugh all the harder. Toni was so very knowledgeable about the history, buildings and landmarks and did a great job of pointing out every point of interest. I have been on many walking tours in several cities, including NOLA, and her storytelling is second to none. Like I said, she is someone I'd love to just hang with. Mistress Toni cracked so many jokes throughout the evening and made us laugh over and over. She even brought little treats to hand out to us at the end of the evening. I promised her I would leave a review after I got home. She had asked us to at the end of the tour, but I explained I'm a writer and like to take my time with my reviews. If you do visit Philadelphia and have an opportunity to take this tour, I definitely recommend that you check with them and see if you can experience Mistress Toni as your tour guide. She is phenomenal!

Excellent tour! Christa did an amazing job telling us the critical facts while also sharing some new grim stories about Philly. We learned a lot and had a great time!

If you are in Philly, this tour is worth doing! We went this past weekend with Madame Toni as our guide! She is a sassy, raunchy, little lady. I learned so much and had several good laughs! Her story about City Tavern had me covered in chills! I would absolutely do this tour again if I’m in the area. It’s worth the money and time.

Such a fun tour! I had never done a night tour before and this was such a neat experience- especially since none of the areas were crowded at all. We loved Ted and all his knowledge and expertise + the unique facts (R rated!) that you wouldn’t get in a day tour. Definitely recommend!

I learned so much from this tour. As a Philly Native, I was pleasantly surprised and somewhat embarrassed that I did not know about many of these stories and pieces of Philadelphia (and American) history. Our tour guide, Joseph, was informative and funny. I would recommend this tour to locals and visitors alike.

The tour was so informative and our guide, Britnee, was so funny and knowledgeable! We had a great time learning about the darker history of Philadelphia while laughing the whole way. She encouraged questions anytime and even recommended food/drink spots after the tour! Joe was also super helpful from the start, sending all info and tips we’d need to get there ready to go! Would highly recommend!

Had a great time on this Adult twilight Grim Tour. Toni was great with her knowledge of the places we stopped at and made it fun and interesting with the adult humor. Went with a group of 10 people and would definitely recommend this tour for a small or large group.

Madame Toni is an amazing tour guide. Combining theatrics and humor, the madame casts you back in time, to experience the fine details of the founding of our first capital and the base instincts that drive all men to success. A wonderful experience you don't want to miss. Absolutely brilliant.

With Toni as our guide, Grim Philly Twilight Tours was an exceptional tour group that led us on a nighttime excursion in Philadelphia. The walk led us through tiers of our president, Washington,'s decisions and his treatment of himself, which causes a great number of individuals to doubt the value of keeping a commitment. The tour touched my heart, and Toni explained that it was that evening that the genuine mature conversations commenced, involving women of diverse abilities who were inspired to realize the ambitions of all, from head to toe, with the assistance of nearby beavers. An enjoyable method to end a night in Philadelphia is by taking in the city's historical significance while enjoying the crisp night air. This tour is highly recommended for individuals seeking to not only gain knowledge about the historical significance of Philadelphia but also to enjoy themselves, as Toni is exceptionally amusing and interactive. It was an exemplary decision to be present. WWP, I appreciate the invitation.

Very cool tour! I did the night adult tour and the things I learned gave me a whole new view on the city and those who founded our nation. I highly recommend this tour even if you have been to the touristy spots. You will learn so much more! Sara was my tour guide and she had us laughing and enjoying every minute! She was quite amazing 👏 kudos to Sara for putting her heart into it and making it enjoyable for us!

Our tour guide Toni was amazing! She had a great personality and was very knowledgeable, she did a great job keeping me fully entertained, I’ve taken other tours that felt like they dragged on at times but not hers! She even had examples of items from the time period to make us really go back in history (that she made herself) probably my favorite Philly tour I’ve ever taken, keep up the great work Toni!

Toni was great at being a tour guide and made it a lot of fun. The tour was on foot, some silly jokes, but she included a lot of history and made it educational as well. 👍🏻👍🏻

Toni was a great informative and funny tour guide ! A must whenever you visit Philadelphia. As a Texan this gave me great insight into the dark history of Philadelphia that you never learn in the history books. Highly recommend for all tourists! Be warned, not for kids.

Joe was an excellent tour guide. His stories were fascinating and unique. Not so much a ghost tour or creepy, but more interesting because every story really happened and was accurate ( we fact checked) and eerie. Joe has a very casual style and easy to listen to and not get bored.

Madame Antoinette (Toni) was a blast. We took a pic with her, she’s the one holding the candy. Other pics have some orbs for those who are interested. It was a great mix of history, comedy, and ghostly.

I was already impressed with our guide Toni before the tour even officially started so I knew my friends and I were going to have a pleasant experience, which we did. It was eerie, fun, humorous and knowledgeable. Madam Toni was interactive with each person that attended. Glad I was a part of it.

Madame Tony was HILARIOUS! I truly learned so much and enjoyed getting to see the city in a different way. Let’s just say my heart rate did jump to 120 at one point. She’s very knowledgeable and full of good Jokes. A great way to spend an evening in Philly!

What an excellent tour! Our guide Toni was absolutely fantastic. At one point I laughed so hard I snorted. My husband, who rarely laughs in public, was cracking up. She kept us entertained and moving with nonstop stories and banter. Our tour was right in the middle of Hurricane Ian, but zero complaints, the rain and wind added to the ghost story ambience. The other guests were super nice too. Wonderful experience. Will most definitely do another Grim Philly tour next time in town. 100% would recommend! Do not miss!!!

Great experience for our brief time in Philly. We enjoyed hearing the dark history and seeing sites at night. Sarah was an excellent tour guide for the Dark Adult tour. Very funny and answered all questions. Even gave suggestions for after the tour foods.

I personally don't like tours, I was very skeptical at first but Sara made me change my mind! She was soo funny and friendly and it felt like she was a friend telling me all about her new city, she is very knowledgeable and gracious. Definitely bringing more people next time 👻
