BEWARE. This was by far the most disgusting and dirty hotel experience we have ever had. Where do I start? 1. The bathroom was absolutely atrocious. It was not cleaned prior to our arrival whatsoever. When we arrived to the hotel room, the toilet seat had STAINS all over it (I'll spare the details but please use your imagination). The sink was disgusting as well--clearly not cleaned either. That goes for the entire bathroom. We simply felt dirty being inside the hotel room. 2. We requested towels (as there were no towels in the room when we arrived) about an hour after our arrival for the 2-night stay. We never got towels. 3. The air conditioning unit was covered with mold. We woke up very feeling sick both mornings of our stay. See photo. 4. We arrived for a business trip and needed a working desk lamp. The one in the room was apparently missing a cord. During our first night, a staff member came to check it out and stated that he will bring a cord or another lamp "if we really need it." That never happened. 5. The fridge made ridiculously loud sounds throughout the night, which made it impossible to sleep. We had to unplug it to try to fall asleep. 6. There was a booger stuck on the wall near the bed. I am not sure I need to say much more than that. 7. The bed is absolutely not queen size (as it is advertised). It is full at BEST. That was a nice surprise as well. Unfortunately, we didn't have the option to switch the stay last minute and had to deal with this atrocity of an experience. I hope this helps someone who is considering staying at this place. We will never be returning again. To say this was disappointing is a huge understatement. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Great experience overall. Amazing location! Hotel room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Bed was clean, comfortable (not amazing, but suited us well for our stay). Staff was kind, quick, and courteous. Although the hotel certainly is not brand-new and a few areas showed signs of age, it was overall a lovely stay with great service. Breakfast was fine, but if you want something truly delicious, go across the street to Reading Terminal Market. Parking fees are excessive. If you know how to navigate street parking and parking lots (and are willing to walk a block or 2), you'll save a lot.

Really disappointed. I booked this hotel thinking that since it seems to be really nice and modern it would be all comfortable and clean. I would like to mentioned that I have stayed in all types of Hilton hotels and had recently found Home2 suites the perfect match with all our need, especially now that we have to be traveling more often to PA due to it the closes to the hotel we’re being treated at. Long story short, it seems like a nice place, staff are really helpful and friendly specially the person at the front desk that speak Spanish. Parking was expensive might I mention, $60 bucks for the night?!??? My main issue and disappointment is definitely with the cleanliness, THEY SUCK! Not only does the hallways give a filling full of filth but there are also RODENTS IN THE KITCHEN/LOBBY AREA! Right when breakfast was being served we were able to see a SMALL RAT run and hide in a small crack or hole in the wall, totally UNACCEPTABLE! One of the kid that was with us even saw it and immediately stopped eating! Totally a downgrade for this hotel for which I had higher expectations. To only imagine that rodents had been wandering around the food we were eating that morning, or that their could be a whole family of them and next thing I know there sleeping with you, A BIG NO FOR ME! Especially if you have fear of them!! Definitely will not be coming back! This is the first time I’ve had an issue like this with an Hilton, I just really hope my future stays are nothing like this!! I do not recommend and would stay away from this one in specific!

Located directly across the street from Reading terminal. It is a bit of a tourist trap, in my opinion it’s a lot of mediocre food in a busy enclosed space. I recommend other restaurants in the area. You can literally see inside the terminal venue from your room though! This is a very busy location but perfect for walking and is adjacent to a PAID parking garage. Vanessa is always very helpful when I stay at this hotel. She goes above and beyond for guests. Please recognize her for her hospitality. Rooms are slightly dated, but they reflect the very reasonable price point for this location. Do you keep your wits about you in Philadelphia, despite the name of brotherly love it can be a very dangerous city. Pay attention & stay safe!

Stayed here for about 4 days. The location of this hotel is perfect! Close to many things like the Reading Market Terminal, the convention center, and other historical sites. Our room was in general clean, but it does need to be updated and renovated along with certain parts of the hotel. There was no fan/vent thing in our bathroom. The free breakfast was good. They offer breakfast sandwiches, eggs, bagels, waffles, fruit, cereal, and yogurt. For beverages: juice, milk, tea, and coffee. But, you have to wake up real early to get food!!! Breakfast is only served from 6am to 9am. Wish it ended at 10am though because not many people wake up early. Parking here is expensive. Thought there would be free parking or at least discounted parking for guests. Overall, the staff were professional and friendly. Thank you guys for working!

Disappointed in this hotel. First, staff was friendly upon arrival, rooms are spacious for family of 4, the addition of a kitchen and the layout are nice, and the location is convenient to convention center and many restaurants. However, none of this outweighs the negatives. The hotel is not clean. My son crawls and was black all over his legs from a brief trip around the room while I got a few things set up. The furniture and beds are very worn. The obvious age itself wouldn't bother me if kept clean and in good repair, but several fixtures were broken/damaged, including the bathroom door. The fridge was wiped clean and the bathroom seemed ok, but there were signs of the space needing an overall good cleaning. Ice machine in hall was broken. We waited a ridiculous amount of time for the induction burner stated to be available at the desk, but was apparently not, so do not count on using it. Breakfast served food, but nothing compared to the quality or variety I have had in similar establishments (think convenience store grab and go offerings). The pool is uncomfortably cold. This was my first stay (that I know of) in a Hilton property. I had joined Hilton Honors based on recommendation from a friend with the intention of making regular trips into Philadelphia, but I will be searching for something different and would not stay here again.

I am a 17 year Diamond Member ( 60 nights per year ) and I will never book a stay at this location again - In fact I'm considering switching to MARRIOTT as my co-workers swear by their excellent Customer Service. I recently booked a stay for a business trip only to have my customer cancel on me the morning of my stay. I immediately messaged the Hotel asking if they could cancel my reservation and they just lied and said they can't cancel it within 24 hours ( I know for a FACT they can cancel/refund at any time ). Anyone in a traveling sales type role knows things like this happen a lot, and plans change. What's the point of reaching / maintaining a Hotel chains HIGHEST level if you can't make changes to existing reservations. So I pleaded and begged the Hotel to help but they wouldn't have it. They kept my money knowing I will not check in later this evening. Buyer beware, if you are looking for a Hotel that provides any level of customer service look elsewhere. I've probably stayed there 30+ times since being built, but that along with my Hilton Honors status mean nothing here - These guys are right next to the convention center so I guess they can be that arrogant. *** 8/7/2023 IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER'S COMMENTS - I'VE CALLED TWICE AND LEFT MESSAGES FOR THE MANAGER TO CALL ME BACK SO YOU CAN " INVESTIGATE FURTHER " BUT NO ONE HAS YET TO RETURN MY CALLS. JUST PUBLIC LIP SERVICE??? ALSO, I'VE SUBMITTED THE CONTACT FORM ON HILTON'S WEBSITE, AND GUESS WHAT...NO RESPONSE. H2S PHILADELPHIA - YOU HAVE MY CONTACT INFO IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REACH OUT ( AS YOU REQUESTED I DO ) SO YOU CAN " INVESTIGATE FURTHER ".

This hotel is just okay. I expected more since I was paying $200/night. The front desk staff was not particularly friendly, and usually, at check in being an HH member I have gotten a water bottle or snack, this place does not offer that which would have been nice. At check in I was told that the pool was closed, when I asked why it was not posted on the website, was told it was a recent closure, but looking back further at reviews, I see it was at least a few weeks old. The room definitely had a lot of signs of wear on the walls/couch/floor. The mattress was not comfortable for a hotel. The breakfast area was also very worn and the dishes/cutlery I did not feel were super clean. Breakfast was also cleaned up 30 minutes early and there were some items I wanted to try that were put away already. The best part of this hotel is the convenient location, but for the price I paid, again, I would have chosen another spot.

Very happy with the location! The market across the street was best! Service was top notch. Room could use some help. There was black mold on the shower , chair had duct tape on the arm rests. Walls were smeared with black stuff. Not very Hilton like

Great and convenient location for city tour.👍 Walking outside is safe during the day. Very close to public market with a lot of warm and authentic food and also fresh produce. 👍👍 However, this is not a well-cleaned hotel. You can see a lot of wears and tears here and there, from lobby to the room. For example, broken chair with easy tape fix. (See the attached pictures.) Very surprising everywhere ~ 😯 Also, midnight noise is challenging for whoever needs good rest which comes from both human party and building mechanical background noise. You can call the front desk staff but...😆 just take this opportunity to train the inner peace would be easier. The pool is beyond disgusting. 😔 Not sure what happened to that.😅 All the best to the management!

I almost didn’t book my stay based on some of the negative reviews, I am so glad I didn’t let those reviews sway me. Almost everything about my experience was wonderful! Location is excellent! Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Front desk staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Plenty of food served for breakfast. I will definitely be staying here again!!!

Terrible hotel. The staff are nice but the GM needs to be investigated by corporate and replaced. He is arrogant and does not know a thing about the ADA Act of 1990. He does not know how to speak to people. He is not a problem solver. I’ve been a hotel executive for a good portion of my adult life. I would have never allowed anyone like this to work at a hotel in our portfolio. He’s not suitable for even managing a Motel 6 or Redroof. To the owners: if you want to take your hotel to the next level, it’s time to replace this guy. Speak to your staff at this hotel. They will tell you the truth. They said that they can’t believe he’s allowed to run the hotel. Even your own line-level employees see it. Why don’t you?

I booked this hotel (2 rooms) for myself, my mom, and sister for a girls' weekend. We all flew in from different states so our arrival times differed. My mom and sister arrived earlier than I and wanted to check into the room. They were told by the front desk agent, Noelle (who was extremely polite), that because the rooms were in my name that I needed to call and add their names to the rooms... no problem. While I was doing this, my mom and sister went to grab lunch, when they returned, Noelle had gone on her break and Phil (the General Manager) was at the desk and informed them that they could not check into the room until I got there and provided my ID. There was a little back and forth (Phil was not nice about it), but they were eventually given the room keys. Once I arrived, the first thing I see in the lobby is a run down green couch and a MOUSE/RAT running around the lobby! I was immediately grossed out. When I got off of the elevator to go to my room, I was completely shocked. As I walked down the hall to my room, there were bags of trash outside of a few rooms and there was a badly stained (looked like urine or vomit) blanket outside of one room. My room looked run down, there was rust and mold in the shower, and what looked like blood spots on the ceiling. The bedding was as hard as a rock. It was so bad that my sister and I slept fully dressed because we didn't want out skin touching the bedding. We checked out of this hotel the next morning and moved to another hotel that was around the corner. This hotel should NOT have the Hilton name on it. It's DEFINITELY a 2 star MAX hotel. After checking out, I went back to speak to Phil about the experience that my mom and sister had with him at the desk the day before. He was seemed unconcerned and also told me that what I was saying to him about my sister and mom's feelings was inaccurate. In my opinion, as a general manager, you should be more empathetic to customers. He was very arrogant and unapologetic. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone! If you can find another hotel downtown DO IT!

My experience at Home2 Suites was wonderful. The rooms were clean and breakfast was good. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I really like walking in and it not feeling closed in, but feels inviting. I like the idea of picking your room. Based on my stay I would recommend this hotel.

Rooms were nice, clean and spacious. Desk staff was very pleasant, polite and engaging. Halls were a little chilly, music in the elevator was a little too loud. Overall great experience. Would definitely go back.

Had an excellent experience staying here. Location is amazing; the hotel is located mere steps from Reading Terminal Market and a 5 minute walk to Chinatown/Fashion District and City Hall. The service here was fantastic as there is a direct text line to the front desk and they respond to any requests quickly and efficiently. The rooms are a bit dark with not too much light but are perfect for any light sleepers. I am an extremely light sleeper, but I slept perfectly here because there were blackout shades, and you could not really hear outside traffic or next door neighbors. One other con is that they do not do room service daily, but otherwise I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for a peaceful, clean, and convenient stay! Everything like the elevator and entry into the hotel is also swipe/room key access only, which added a nice layer of security for guests.

Second time back to this hotel for a staycation. The staff here are always so helpful and greet you with a smile (straight mood changer in a good way). The hotel is in a prime location with lots of food options and walking distance to parking, train, bus and convention center. The area around the hotel had dim lighting, but wasn't necessarily dark. I love how the rooms in the hotel are spacious and have a mini kitchen. The kitchen is always good for leftovers or If you want to just relax in the room for the day. My only criticism, this last time around, we were put on the front side of the hotel (closet to reading terminal). In the morning we were woken up by street performing singing. So if you want to sleep past 9am request not to be on the front side of the hotel. 😊

The rooms were nice, however, the service was non existance. We ran out of toilet paper and towels and had to flag down a cleaning lady. A big shout out to Essence in housekeeping, she was very helpful and very nice and took care of us. Great job Essence! I also left some Items in the room and for a week I called to find out them and not one person returned my call. :(

Great stay at this hotel. Very clean and service was excellent. Location couldn’t be better. Felt safe walking around at night. Right across the street from Reading Terminal Market, one of the best places in Philly!!

Rooms are very spacious and had a kitchen with silverware and flatware. Breakfast had a great variety, Crowded though. Can't beat the location right next to Terminal Market and Chinatown for great food. Parking was close but a bit expensive. Would use this hotel again. Recommended.

I almost cancelled my reservation after reading some of the reviews but this hotel was fine. The staff were very friendly. Our room was spacious and clean. The free breakfast was decent. My only complaints were that the pool was cold (according to the kids) and the shower only had shampoo, not conditioner. The hotel is in a great location - right across the street from the market. I would stay here again.

I stayed at this property for 8 nights. All of the staff were friendly, the hotel was clean and quiet. There were no problems at all during my stay. The location is outstanding, as Reading Terminal Market and Jefferson Station are right across the street. I would stay here again.

This is short and sweet because my stay was short, sweet and comfortable. Service was amazing, check-in was a breeze. The room was clean and spacious for the location. You don't find many places in the city with that amount of space. The free breakfast was great and served in a manner that I feel kept germ spreading to a minimum. There was also a pool. I highly recommend staying here.

I probably have met every front desk employee and each one were always very polite and courteous for each of my past stays. But I want to specifically thank Vanessa for her warm welcomes, text messages upon my arrival and through out the duration of my stays. Vanessa really goes the extra mile to make sure all guests feel at home. This property is very affordable and I’m very thankful for the hotel keeping the room rates low as much as they can.

The location is amazing Marcus the security guard and front desk staff were friendly and accommodating Room service was sketchy , we stayed for 9 days and many details were curiously omitted like failure to make both beds, failure to empty the trash etc many of the The treadmills in gym were not working and the dryers The dryer did not work well and efficiently ( it took 2 full cycles to dry one load) What else? overall we love home2 and we love the proximity to Reading Terminal Market

Second visit in a year and I continue to see the lack of investment to maintain the place. My room, while clean, has seen better days. The refrigerator shelves were broken, the furniture and mattress was well worn and needed replacement and the same worn seats in the lobby are still there, just in worse condition. It would be a prime spot if they just fixed some of the issues and freshened up the lobby and rooms.

I had a great experience at the H2. The staff were very nice Kevin Johnson customers service skills are amazing. He did a great job in assisting with my things. I also had an issue with the heat in my room. So I had to change rooms and Security guard Melvin Carson was such a big help. He went from security to engineer and was trying his best to fix the heat. Melvin helped with my things & went above & beyond. The staff in the kitchen are so kind as well. Kiera & her colleague made sure everything was clean & stocked. Thank you for the staff at the H2

Excellent hotel. Rooms and all facilities were great. Breakfast was superb with a huge number of high quality options. Will definitely stay again and recommend it highly. Only thing they can do to improve is to make sure the coffee bar is stocked through the day.

Awful experience. Bathroom didn't latch in "reserved room" that I had to wait 2 hours to get into after a long shift (business trip). Toilet paper was also shoved in the vent for some reason? When I contacted the front desk they allowed me to switch the room to one that had the same exact issue, along with yellow grime on wall. They called maintenance and that itself was another waiting game. Tried to be courteous with the front desk while waiting the two hours but they were rude when I asked if there was anything they needed from me to speed the process along. Only after the wait did they give me the arbitrary reason of "you didn't present a card for incidentals" when I was never asked to give a card. They don't care about their jobs enough to really provide any helpfulness. When I was finally settled into the last room for the night (third attempt) it functioned as what I needed it to: a place to sleep. Avoid this place at all costs. I don't like to inconvenience overworked staff, which judging from the lobby hold up they might have been, but this was nothing but blatant disregard.

This hotel does NOT deserve the bad reviews that it's received in the past. The room was clean, the staff was VERY pleasant and the breakfast was very accommodating considering the pandemic. The WiFi need updating and the view from the rooms are bad, but the location for the price is perfect. This hotel will see us coming back again.

Unbeatable location, best quality-price ratio, friendly staff, nice spacious rooms with all the things you need and more (almost a full kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, dishes, cups, glasses, cutlery. Safe, sofabed, TV, AC), basic breakfast. My next time in Philly definitely will book here, no hesitation!

  • 2/5 John L. 2 years ago on Google
Can not recommend. Location is great for downtown but the staff just didn't have it together. Check in took close to an hour even at around 450p. Also most if the floors and hallways needed a good cleaning

Disgusting hotel. Walls, floors, and furniture was filthy. Carpet was dirty. Beds horrible. We canceled our stay the first night and went to another hotel. Only favor they did us was giving us a full refund with no argument… must be a common occurrence for them. Don’t stay here. We won’t be staying at Hilton after this- and I’m a Gold member!

  • 4/5 Katy B. 2 years ago on Google
Nice efficient studio room. We had to swap our initial room as there was an unpleasant smell. They were quick to get us a new room, but that was not quite ready so we got a third in perfect condition. Breakfast was ok, but with coffee, what else do I need? The liason was great for everything we wanted to do.

  • 3/5 Kira K. 2 years ago on Google
Overall, it was just okay. The room was great. The staff was friendly. The front desk clerks need to learn to answer their phones! The parking garage is not attached to the hotel. The pick up drop off zone for the hotel is NOT clearly marked. The breakfast wasn't much, thank goodness the Reading Market is right next door. The room was really clean with a comfortable bed, and a large flat panel TV. There was a nice kitchen, sink & fridge.

Avail for the family room. Has 2 full size bed and a sofa bed. Room very spacious and clean. Bathroom is adequately sized and clean. Concierge are nice and friendly. Located across the Reading Terminal with tons of food and drinks available. It's also beside the convention center which is very convenient is you are attending a conference. Didn't give a 5 star rating since I witnessed a mice scurrying around the lobby floor near the food/drink section.

  • 4/5 Ethan G. 1 year ago on Google
EDIT: I do not know if they saw this is review, but they are now letting me stay under quarantine. Updated rating accordingly. --------- I stayed here for 3 nights, and tested positive for COVID on the first night after experiencing adverse symptoms all day. Look, I understand that the hotel cares about the safety of its guests, but I am very frustrated with how they improperly set expectations. I explicitly asked upon booking whether I could extend the stay in the case I tested positive to quarantine. They said yes. The day after I tested positive, they called me saying I couldn't extend my stay. For the average traveler, this is a perfectly fine hotel, decent rooms and a great location (and I rated these elements accordingly). But if your needs go beyond the ordinary, don't expect any treatment or favors, even if promised over the phone. Oh well, the Hilton Garden Inn next door will take my money.

Great location! Rooms are very nice and kept clean and well maintained. They were leaning hallway carpet one day during my stay. Very convenient to a lot of activities - right across the street from Reading Terminal Market. Perfect location for a great weekend in Philly - Uber from airport and don't need a car

This was my first stay in a Home2Suites and I wasn’t disappointed. The studio had all the amenities you need for comfortable stay right down to plates and cutlery, plus the all important refrigerator/freezer and microwave. There is a rollout table, if you need, and plenty of space to stretch out and relax. It is conveniently located across the street from the Reading Terminal Market and walking distance to the major attractions of city hall, Love Park, Museum Campus, Independence National Park, the Fashion District, and Chinatown. The area is quiet at night but do expect to be woken by street musicians playing the buckets and singing but that just adds to the flavor of the area. Getting to your hotel is a breeze just take the Airport Train directly to Reading Terminal and the hotel is half block from the exit. Keep in my if you have an early departing flight, trains don’t start running towards the airport until 4am.

Great place to stay. The room was clean and quiet. Cheri checked us in and out and was very friendly and helpful. Several great kitchen employees helped us with breakfast and were so friendly and full of smiles. It's nice to see people take pride and enjoy their jobs.

Look no further! This is thee perfect hotel stay for family or business trips. It’s across the street from the convention center. The staff was nothing short of exceptional. Felicia, who checked me in, was the sweetest making sure I was taken care of at all times. Philip, the manager, was proactive while short staffed to make sure I was helped to hold my bags. The rooms are HUGE with kitchenettes that make it convenient for longer stays. You won’t be disappointed with your stay here!

The location is absolutely amazing in a very alive part of town with Reading Terminal Market right across the street. It was great for late night exploring and people watching. However, we have stayed in many Hilton hotels throughout the country in many different cities and never have I been in such a small room with a dirty bathroom, and we had 6 adults in our room. The beds were okay but the pull out was absolutely terrible. The service was rude and changed what they offered or said depending on which of us they were speaking to, very discriminating. Our host who planned our vacation stay here is a Diamond member and he was entirely displeased by the service, cleanliness, and accommodations of this hotel. They misled us about parking and the pool was foamy, green, and cloudy. We couldn't attempt a swim by how gross it looked. VERY Displeased. This hotel needs an overhaul of reevaluating its employees and what is expected in Hilton hospitality.

First let me say that I am brand loyal to Hilton. However I am amending to 2 stars. Was charged a $75 early departure fee on a reservation that I had the ability to cancel until 11:59 the night before. This was one of the noisiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff seemed completely useless. Asked for a simple request (new batteries for remote) - was told someone would be right up. Two hours went by. I called back to the front desk and the person knew nothing of my request. I initially rated this 3 stars, and would not stay there again. There are plenty of other similarly priced hotels in the immediate area. Try one of them instead.

The staff at the home 2 suites Philadelphia Convention center was beyond amazing. They are kind and helpful whenever approached. The cleanliness however was not acceptable. We had the chance to look in multiple rooms and all were in the same state. The couches were severely stained, the bathroom walls don’t look like they have been wiped down this year, the shower needs to be cleaned thoroughly including taking apart the soap dispenser which haven’t been cleaned in months (mold). The curtain separating the beds had residue on it that was clearly visible from the moment you walked in. I would expect more from a Hilton regardless of minimal staff. Both sides of the fridge need cleaning and the toilet is stained. I would think monthly deep cleaning would be done since families are eating and cooking in there. It looks like all they did was make my bed and wipe the fridge down inside. The microwave had crumbs and the sink was not cleaned with any cleaner. Just wiped out and the food was still able to be smelled from prior guests

This hotel is conveniently across the street from Reading Terminal Market and the convention center. The hotel staff is welcoming and eager to fix any issues you have. Our fridge was broken and they replaced it within an hour. Despite being on a very busy street, the hotel security did a fantastic job making sure there was space for guests to load/unload.

Visit was nothing to write home about. I've stayed and traveled fairly extensively and I really expect a lot from the higher brand names. You pay more to expect more. Breakfast was lackluster at best, with limited choices and broken equipment. Ran out of coffee, ran out of coffee cups... what was a plus (free light breakfast) really meant we went out and bought our own breakfast. The Comfort Inn provided a MUCH better breakfast option with much friendlier staff. We felt like an inconvenience. The mattress was comfy but seemed smaller than the Queen we believed we had. Just seems odd when we have a Queen to feel like it's smaller in the hotel room. I did like the blackout blinds they worked and were a plus. Parking just about gave me a heart attack. $43 a night in what felt like a sketchy downtown neighborhood. I really felt that the hotel should have offered a bit of a discount on parking (no, we didn't expect free). All in all.... would I stay here again? Maybe. The perks was it's really close to the Convention Centre (right across the street) and the Reading Terminal Market (also a plus). It is easy walking distance to the historic district as well. Sadly, the hotel is understaffed. I'm chalking that up to too much free stimulus money, generous unemployment benefits and fear of covid. Seems like it pays more to stay home than to work. (My opinion). It speaks volumes when the marketing manager is working front desk and setting the bar high.

Location is really good, walking distance to Chinatown and the independence hall. Room is very spacious and the fridge is bigger than most hotels. I really like the living area which can be separated from the beds with the curtain. The staffs are really nice, they gave us free water and snacks. There are also free coffee, tea and hot chocolate. However, the swimming pool is very small and doesn’t look clean.
