This is a neighborhood bar that has great food and it feels like you're surrounded by family. Most would consider this a "dive bar" and if that's the case it's top 3 in the city! If you're in the area definitely pop in, it's cash only, hopefully that doesn't deter anyone.

Food is always great. Typical dive feel but without the smoke and a better crowd. Always good conversation to be had. Service could be slow but all the workers are incredibly nice and they're just busy, so I don't hold it against them. Anything with the name "Turf" in it on their menu is a must-try and their pig wings are excellent. Beer selection is on-point, plus they have one nitro tap. Mixed drinks are always strong. TVs are viewable from most seats. Sometimes game audio is on, but not always. Menu photo I attached is from May 2022.

Atmosphere was a nice, quiet and comfortable setting. The service was really good. And the food was amazing.

Two words, "PIG WINGS!" Your quintessential neighborhood bar and grill does a nice job with all your favorites, but the pig wings are enough reason to leave your neighborhood and check this place out. A slow roasted pork shank cooked tender and then deep fried and slathered in your choice of sauce. The "Hot-B-Que" was the hit at our table. Of course the game is on too.

Busy lil corner bar. Friendly staff. Excellent deal on Tuesday for half price burgers great fries

We hadn't been here in 20 years or so. Stopped in on a dreary Wednesday and it was warm and welcoming. The place was still the same. The decor shows all the history, the music was a good mix, customers of all ages and the bartender (Steff) knew everyone. The perfect neighborhood bar! But even better was the Wednesday 50 cent wing special (also available on Sundays too). You can order whatever amount you want and have them tossed in their homemade hot sauce, bbq or the weekly special sauce. We ordered 10 with medium heat and they certainly packed a punch. They wings were meaty, crispy and some of THE BEST we've had. Mondays is 1/2 price chicken Sammie and Tuesday is 1/2 price burgers. Looking forward to returning for the burger special (all specials are available all day). Just note that currently there is a Guinness shortage but they have an Irish stout on tap (Forged Irish stout backed by fighter, Connor McGregor and is quite similar in style and taste).

Discovered this gem when looking for a place to live in East Falls. Love their trivia night on Tuesdays with their half-off burger deals. Super friendly bartenders with great service. It feels like a home away from home.

The food is great, as is the service. Terrific, low key, classic- feeling local bar. Great place to have a beer and watch a game, or talk to the usually friendly locals. Highly recommend.

Exactly what you would expect from a dive bar located in East Falls. Comfortable bar with a great staff. The high tops are a little crammed in there. Beer selection is great, spirits selection is meh. The Pig Wings were fantastic. The chicken wings were just ok, I ordered HOT but they were really just a little tangy. The wings were done but not crispy. Def would stop in here again.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for late lunch with best friend. We hadn’t been to Bill Murphy’s in probably 12 years since college but always loved their wings and chill atmosphere. Bill’s hasn’t changed in the best way possible. The bartender was so nice and their chef can cook! Everything, wings, pig wings all good. I took a cheese steak to go and wish I had taken 3. Love Bill’s ❤️ Cash Only (ATM inside)

This place is filthy. Honestly, I can’t come back. Every nook and wood trim is caked in dirt and grime. I used to come here a lot but after the pandemic, they completely stopped cleaning. If you don’t believe me just look around they need to close this place for a week and scrub it.

Good place but they need to fix their bathroom. Fix your urinal and put a lock on your door that won't lock people in like I was

A+ very few places are doing classic pub well these days. No frills, upcharges, or hipster BS. Just good vibes, good drinks, and pub food. You don't need to go to other bars. Also there's a cigarette machine (don't smoke it's bad for you)

Great pub for beers and food! And to watch the EAGLES! Great atmosphere, bartender. Has been a fixture in neighborhood for over 40 years. Will definitely be back.

Went with some friends. I know people are obsessed with Mill Murphy's but I didn't really see it. I'm also not a beer drinker. They didn't have any cider options and their mixed drinks are limited. I'm also not a fan of cash only places, even though I understand why businesses might choose to go that route.

Amazing burgers and fries. We order for pick up often. Never tried anything else. The burgers are fresh ground beef.

East Falls really deserves better. Owner here has an ego bigger than all of Philly yet his crusty old bar is like drinking warm beer in some filthy hoarder's basement. Yuck!

  • 5/5 Christian H. 6 months ago on Google
The owner is the salt of the earth, the food is slamming, the drinks are alcoholic, and the environment is ever welcoming. One of, if not thee, finest bars in Philadelphia.

A dive bar that plays great 90's music, serves surprisingly good food (burgers and wings), and actually has an impressive beer selection is a national treasure. And make no mistake about it -- this is a dive bar complete with the usual array of locals, stained paper menus, gritty neighborhood, and, shall we say "understated" décor. But this is a happy bar with a happy bartender and I spent 4 joyous hours at Billy Murphy's on a Monday evening. In the words of Gen. MacArthur, "I shall return."

The neighborhood standby is as friendly as ever. It's bar food, but they make it fresh. Still a broad selection of craft beers.

Haven't had a better Italian Pork Sandwich in Philly (pardon the Doritos)!

  • 5/5 Shem F. 2 years ago on Google
This is hands down best local bar in Philly for me.

Great little neighborhood bar. All the food is very well prepared. Bartenders are responsive and professional. There are a few televisions so you can keep an eye on the game, but this is not somewhere to go to watch the game. Televisions are not oppressive. Music is interesting and an eclectic mix.

Best spot in Philly. The Fried Chicken sandwich is the best sandwich in Philadelphia. Honestly, everything on the menu is amazing. Love this place....I struggle not to go every day.

Has added gas patio fire places to keep patrons warm while dining outside. "Billy" burger is as good as ever, along with the beer.

I used to drink here, seemed kinda nice, had decent ambiance and selection on draft, but they have a Thin Blue Line flag on their ceiling, I don't spend money there anymore.

Actually the best bar in Philly. Great staff. Great food. Great beer. Great times.

A simple dive bar filled with great people and great beers on draft or in the fridge. The turf burger is the best on the menu. Tuesday nights are typically trivia night so it gets pretty packed on those nights.

  • 5/5 David T. 6 years ago on Google
Excellent hidden local neighborhood bar. Service is impeccable and the food is the best bar food I've ever had. They have many specials during the week and even serve delicious brunch. Cash only. Great drafts too.

  • 5/5 Jessica R. 1 year ago on Google
A fantastic neighborhood bar with a quality kitchen and professional and attentive staff. So much fun on quizzo nights or low key nights when you just want to hang. The bar has a mixed crowd of regulars and a friendly atmosphere.

  • 5/5 Sunjay S. 1 year ago on Google
This is the best dive bar. Still has the vibes of a 90s town bar alive in it, been going every Tuesday (half off incredible burger) for 1.5 years. See no reason to slow down this place is an east falls treasure

  • 5/5 Kelvin C. 1 year ago on Google
Had an absolute blast of an evening there. Drinks were good, service was great, and the food was excellent. Be sure to try the Pig Wings!

Billy Murphs is the staple bar of East Falls. $5 burgers on tuesdays, cheap highlifes, and always a selection on tap. Every visit I meet someone new and strike up a conversation. Come here one time and on your next visit you are bound to run into some you know. If you lived in the East Falls area, you know Billy Murphs.

  • 5/5 Ryan M. 2 years ago on Google
Tuesdays are the best days! Half price burgers and it's a steal since their burgers are delicious. The burgers don't come with fries, which is a little weird to me, so you have to order them as a side. Regardless, the sweet potato fries are a must (make sure you order in so they're fresh) and the pork "wings" are something special - the meat falls right off the bone.

I can’t imagine what I would do to improve this bar. It is a dive bar with great drinks, food, staff, and people. Always a pleasure to go there (for the past 35 years). Biggest issue is parking is getting scarce and sometimes too many people have figured out how good this place is.
