Inviting exterior bubbling with conversation stopped me on the street. Located across from The Beasley Building, sporting a blue cabana is Caribou Café, a country French chic. The vibe is enjoy life to its fullest and eat well along the way. I read the market offering for Lamb Burger on the marquee outside the restaurant and decided that would be lunch. Roasted onions, sautéed spinach, fresh goat cheese, paired with Haricots Verts. The Lamb Burger was served slightly under Medium and was delicious. Try not to overlook the Prix Fixe Luncheon Menu until 3pm at an extremely fair price. Dessert was too difficult for me to choose just one. My waitress recommended the biscotti as it is freshly made and soft. Completely different than the grocer or coffee shop variety, Caribou Café Large Biscotti is easy to eat, loaded with fruit and good flavor. Large parties should all agree for each to order one dessert so everyone gets to try them all. #LetsGuide Philadelphia #foodies

If you follow me, you made notice I don’t find myself at too many French cuisine spots, not because I don’t like French food, I just don’t come across too many. Going to the Caribou Cafe for restaurant week was an experience. Starting the dinner with drinks that clean your pallet was interesting. Having Absinthe with its strong licorice taste got me reading for the courses. The water is used to drip over the clump of sugar to distill the drink, if the drink is too strong for your liking. First course was a salmon rillettes and escargot. Each bite was refreshing and full of flavor. The next course was scallops and a pork loin drenched in a delicious brown gravy stuffed with spinach. Again full of flavor. We finished the dinner off with creme brûlée (not part of the prefix meal) and the banana bread putting. Both sweet and delicious, the pudding had this sweet tangy glaze that made every bite unforgettable and who does like an amazing creme brûlée. What is amazing about French cuisine is the presentation and combination of flavors. The entire experience was amazing and would recommend the Caribou Cafe for anyone who is looking to take a special someone out for an amazing dinner experience.

Food was very good, portion sizes were about perfect. Waitress and bar staff were awesome. Drop a star for a arbitrary fee and adding 4% for using a credit card. They claim it's a transfer of the charge they incur. I take credit cards and am a very small business and it only costs me 2.8% to run a card. GTFO with this stuff.

We stopped in for lunch while in the city. What a delightful place! This restaurant would be characterized as a French Cafe. They have both outside and inside seating. The inside has a warm ambience with lots of wood. We were seated by the window which was nice. My wife ordered the quiche and I had the lamb burger with goat cheese. Both were great. The quiche was moist and delicious. The lamb burger honestly may be the best burger have ever had in a restaurant, and I have had a lot of burgers. The chocolate olive oil cake was also delicious. They have vegetarian options also for those who prefer that. The staff was courteous and attentive as well. We really enjoyed our time and have put this on our list of places to return to.

I had a short break before heading to the airport and walk in front of this cozy French restaurant to enjoy escargot, one of those strange delicacies that I can not find in Miami. The dish was a refined reinterpretation of the classic with a delicate puff pastry brioche. 👌🏼.

My party and I enjoyed profiteroles & vanilla ice cream with dark chocolate sauce. We also enjoyed an espresso. The atmosphere was lovely, including our server. The prices are reasonable, and we are returning to indulge ourselves in another delightful dessert.

Food was good but disappointing end - there were a lot of hidden/surprise charges. When you order, servers don’t inform you if additional charge will be applied. Also they charge 4% for credit card payment. Overall, billing was frustrating. But food was good.

Went there for happy hour with a few friends and was greeted at the door by a masked waiter who asked if we had a reservation. I said no but we would be fine to stand at the bar. He was rude short and said they had no room. Basically telling our party of 3 to leave. It was awkward cold and uncomfortable. I will be telling everyone I know and my guests that visit center city to stay away. In fact, I will never set foot in that place again. I’m still in shock.

Beautiful space and wonderful service. I usually go for happy hour, but this time treated myself to 2 courses. The spinach pasta was amazing! I adore this cafe!

Good food but very small portions. Our server was very helpful I am pescatarian so it was a little difficult. We went there specifically for the souffle but it wasn't what we expected

Unique options of food. Nice little outdoor setting. Friendly staff. Good portion served. Food was delicious, meats were tender but lightly seasoned. Metered parking available in front of the restaurant and in the surrounding areas. Child seating available for parents with toddlers. Follow us on @gettingabite for more pictures and reviews.

Do not go here unless you want to ingest FUNGUS. We thought it was good at first as the atmosphere was nice but my friend took her bread pudding to go and when we got home it had fungus on it. Absolutely unbelievable and extremely overpriced. I can’t understand how they can serve this to people. This is a safety warning and honestly can lead to someone to get pretty sick. They pose as a higher end place but we can see the quality at least of today was not it. I tried calling multiple times and nobody answered. I would just keep getting disconnected off the phone. I didn’t want to put this out there but they left me no choice.

Today was my first day dining out in well over a year, and I chose Caribou Cafe. I've always loved the ambience of this local bistro. And they did not disappoint. The service was excellent, and the Warm Frisee Salad delicious. As a solo diner, sometimes you never know how you're going to be treated. But no one was rude, which was very much appreciated. Looking forward to going back soon.

Great burger and poutine and escargot. Excellent service and music. Good beer and wine pours too! Recommend.

This was a great place to come for lunch during Resturant week. We did the prefix meal which came with an app and a main. I ordered the beef stew and my girlfriend ordered the chicken dish. We also had a Caesar salad and a pumpkin soup. While everything was very tasty, I found the portions to be quite small( this is my reason for 4 stars) The staff was friendly and very accommodating

Very chic and cool place for our nye dinner! Everything we ordered (seafood crepe, lamb burger, mussels) was very tasty! The house bread was perfect French loaf bread - crusty on the outside and soft within. Great beer selections to complete the experience!

My party of 5 went there for Restaurant Week, and we had to be seated upstairs. May I add? I am so glad because it was spacious, unlike downstairs. Our waiter and his assistants were absolutely wonderful because they had to go up and down the stairs to bring us our 3 courses. My crepes were wonderful. My mousse was delightful. Everything was delicious. I would definitely go back, and it doesn't have to be Restaurant Week.

I can never remember in my entire 60 year lifespan ever having been to any restaurant and not having been asked if I wanted to dessert after the meal. Yet here I was celebrating my 60th birthday with my brother and I was not asked if I wanted dessert. I ended up eating about half my brother's Is chocolate moose which was good yet I would have preferred to have my own or or the opportunity to select my own. I have been to over 40 French restaurants and never have I ordered steak and been served sliced steak - a steak that was not very good at all. My brother was served soup with no spoon to accompany it so I had to go fetch one for him. To be fair the Caesar salad I had was very good. But the bottom line is I will not be returning anytime soon to the Caribou cafe.

We were there 4 people for dinner. Food is good. Only thing is not acceptable and not professional that they add extra adjustment %4 to the bill and no explanation; 0 Food is tasty; 4 Service; 4 Atmosphere; 3.75. I would prefer to not going back; there are a lot of same or high quality restaurants to go. Not recommend

Wait staff were very friendly and attentive. We did pay cash to avoid the 4% fee. Mushroom crepe, chicken caesar salad and goat cheese stuffed pork were all good. Was hoping the onion soup would be richer. Apple w ice cream and chocolate mousse were also good.

Lovely place with nice refreshing food. Probably the closest to real French bistro food you can find in Philly. Escargots were perfectly cooked. The prosciutto is a wonder. Service was excellent, we never felt rushed. We will go back for sure.

Went have an early lunch restaurant week special today. Been there few times before Covid. The place reminds me of a local bars I visited years ago in Paris. Nice food and friendly staffs.

A very good relaxing French restaurant in an excellent location. The service was great, as well as the food, drink & atmosphere. They do charge a bit high credit card acceptance rate, I rarely see restaurants go above two or three percent, and the portions were authentic. Still it deserves to be busier than it was when I ate there. They got a lot right and I am looking forward to visiting again!

Food is not good. Cheese and pâté were not fresh. Both were hard. Portions are smallish and difficult to get one waiters attention.

Came for restaurant week. Will definitely be returning for more! Pros: - The service was fantastic. They were very attentive and responded quickly to any issue. I didn't particularly like the potato leek soup and left it. I didn't complain or say anything. The waiter, Brian, asked why I left it. I simply said it wasn't to my liking so he asked if I wanted him to change it for a salad. That's excellent service that differentiates a good restaurant from an excellent restaurant. - the seafood crepe was ridiculously good. The profiteroles and the salad were both very good as well. - the petit creme pot was tasty! - they gave free bread to start which seems to be a practice that's dying out. Cons: - the turkey osso buco was somewhat dry and the rice that came with it was too soft. Needed texture. - the leek soup was definitely not something I enjoyed

Great service with very gentle waiter and waitress taking care of us. Food was delicious, typically a French Brasserie in Paris with a delicious croque monsieur and very tasty and big burger. Lots of beer choice, very happy to have had a table at the last minute !

Had the seafood crepe Brittany, Delicious! You can taste each type of seafood...crab, lobster and shrimp. Filling, but light at the same time. The salad greens are fresh and not over dressed. Great service! Wine selection is good also.
