A wholly unprofessional quack operation. I saw two of their eye doctors. Each spent, with no exaggeration, just 5 minutes measuring my prescription. Each came out with totally different numbers and had no bedside manner whatsoever. The reception staff is lackluster and unprofessional. One woman, Betty, should be fired for her aggressive behavior toward customers. The other staff lost my original prescription and didn't take the inconvenience seriously (read: laughed it off). I watched them all handle merchandise very casually and without care frequently (read: throwing things around). The glasses frames are all cheap and unclean (smudgy and greasy). If you don't care about service, products, or getting a trustworthy prescription, this is the place for you.

I've been going to americas best for 7 years and they always mess up my prescription and rip me off big time so I decided to take the advice of may friends and check out eyeglass encounters. With minimal insurance at eyeglass encounters, my eye exam was paid for. That was THE MOST comprehensive eye exam I've had in my entire life and I'm about to be 31. I can't remember the doctors name but she was sweet and told me more about my eyes than any doctor ever before. I didn't feel rushed and felt she really wanted to help me find the perfect lens unlike others in the past that rushed me. They have great frames and i paid 80 bucks for 2 pairs. They came back in less than a week. I will be back THANK YOU SO MUCH! note: this place is TINY! but that's ok!

If I could I would give it negative five stars. On January 5th of 2021 I bought a pair of glasses. 6 weeks later I received said glasses they were the wrong size they had to be sent back. I get my new glasses there's a problem with the hinge so I explained that to them because at this point I'm no longer in Philadelphia I got them in Philly because my child was in the hospital at the time. After a lot of aggravation getting my second pair to me realizing that they were broken I decided to keep them for as long as I could. Even though the one hinge that holds the piece of plastic against my nose kept coming undone cuz it was either the wrong size screw or it was stripped I never figured out which was the case. So after about the fifth time of replacing that and trying to fix it myself I decided to send it back again. This was 6 months ago it is now September of 2022 and I still don't have my glasses or have received any correspondence as to when I may get my glasses. Do not I repeat do not get your glasses here their customer service is non-existent

Phenominal!! I love the staff at BOTH locations. They are very precise with answering questions. And the hospitality Is through the roof! I promise you will NOT leave that store WITHOUT frames that fit your appearance. They'll either give you a selection of eyewear of your liking OR they'll choose for you until you decide to approve or decline. Either way you will not leave that store without frames of your liking UNLESS you opt out of eyewear at the moment. They're UNMATCHED in my eyes.

The staff at Eye Encounters is the best! My husband and I have been going to them for about 10 years now and always have a great experience. Kathy and Betty always give us the best deals possible, honest opinions on how the glasses look on your face and do not hesitate to suggest that we look at another store if we don't find something we like. Love these ladies- I will never go to another eyeglass store.

Overall I am very satisfied with my visit. My eye exam was thorough and the doc explained everything to me. Good selection of eyeglasses. Prices are pretty good considering you are in Center City! I’ll definitely return next year. 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

The staff is nice and they have a descent selection. However, they constantly seem overwhelmed which leads to mistakes. For me, they mistakenly gave me a contact lens fitting and then charged me for it, even though I didn't want it. When I asked for a refund, saying that it was probably an innocent mistake, their response was that "We don't make mistakes." Everyone makes mistakes - just admit it and have a happy customer.

Poor Service very rude to my wife it’s sad how that little shop also need cops to sit inside I guess cause of the employees attitude they don’t wanna see that lil old white lady hurt. They could do better and keep up with there inventory.

The doctor is rude and nasty. He doesn’t know how to talk to people. Then gave me a hard time about why I was coming in. First and last time here. Highly do not recommend. Go elsewhere.

Tells u anything to get your business even if it's a lie, tells you a time frame for receiving your order only to find the time frame is completely wrong. Bad Management!!

I have been going to this eye encounters for years and I receive excellent service. And the Dr's are great. I love the selection of frames and the staff tell you about all your options. I even took my daughter and a few coworkers who had a wonderful experience there. Plus they help me with my difficult insurance the staff handled all the communication with them.

They were fast and efficient!! An employee named Richie helped me pick out amazing new pairs of lenses for my sunglasses and glasses and the prescription came out amazing. Highly recommend.

.Hi I'm Mr.Anderson I'm a 67 year-old senior citizen I went to purchase classes from Eye Encounters I've been here many times over the years however my last and final visit ....this is a place you should not purchase glasses from, either they don't like senior citizens or they don't care for senior citizen plans I say this because I went to purchase a pair of glasses in December they assured me a two week turn around it,s now January 17th I still have no classes . I keep hearing they're on their way we lost them or we can't find them bottom line don't use this place, either they don't like senior citizens or they don't like senior citizens insurance plans my plan pays $150 they sell two pair of glasses for $79 is there a problem I look like a good bet ,trust me stay away . Looks like a nice place but it's not a place to get your glasses in a reasonable time. I think this was one of those situations where the business owner doesn't care for my business or people like me.... And will do what they can do to deter me ...you from ever considering coming back. Bottom line they win I'll take my PPO insurance plan elsewhere . Happy New Year
