Not even one star. We got a refund on our food and puked up our meal. Today we placed an order for the vegan chicken sandwiches and desert they are a GHOST KITCHEN for the franchise Vegan Cluck Sandwich Bistro. The took our order and deaths food delivered was not vegan, they knew that fact of truth but we didn’t. We put our trust in Charlie Mae’s and now we are sick with several days of work lost due to carelessness. We called to voice our concern and we’re threatened by the owner and manager. We are now ill and totally shocked. We then went to the physical “restaurant” where we stood at the counter for 5 minutes and yelled for help 3 times and could hear the two cooks in the kitchen talking to each other. Then the abuse really began. The lady was negative towards us right away telling us she had heard the interaction on the phone and grilling me for opening the door to the kitchen to get their attention. After we tried to talk to her she began slamming her hands on the counter and threatened to call the cops on us though we never raised our voices even once and simply wanted answers and help. I then took the red velvet cake and smashed it across the counter top and left, while my husband stayed behind and tried to continue the conversation. I am still ill writing this and still don’t understand what has happened today. This whole encounter brought the worst out of me in multiple ways. So I can’t recommend Charlie Mae’s unless you want to puke be covered in cake and be treated like garbage.

This is the WORST FOOD we have ever eaten in Arizona!!! The meat we received was OLD AND RANCID, the vegetables were AWFUL and the desert was brown and clumped. It was as if the food was left out for a few days before it was packaged and delivered. We tried to taste everything in hopes of finding some food that was edible and ended up regurgitating shortly after. This is NOT JUST A REVIEW but a WARNING for anyone else who wanted to try this restaurant and read the 4.5 star reviews and wanted to take a chance and try it as well. .... IN REPLY TO THE OWNER... This is a real review I ordered food from your restaurant through Uber eats and I even spoke to a woman at your establishment seeking to speak to a manager and she stated that there's no manager on duty nor the owner which I believe the name or your name is Marcus if my memory serves correct. We were disconnected I don't know what happened and I plan to call tomorrow. The woman I spoke to said verbatim, ",If you have a problem you can leave a review." That is what I did. Looking forward to talking to you and I have a receipt of the order and photos of the food. Thank you for providing a response for an actual experience.

Was craving soul food and found this spot! Food was ready when I got there. Service was great and very respectful! Food was delicious! Ordered fried chicken, fish and brisket sandwich! Brisket was nice and tender, no sauce needed! Will definitely be back! #lovetosupportourown

I ordered take-out. The lady at the register was nice and very caring. The food was really good and set a benchmark for soul food. I got the brisket sandwich and I loved it. I will come back here again to try out the rest of the menu.

Food was delectable. Some of the best fried okra, red beans and rice, and texas toast I have ever had. The cajun pasta was delicious and the steak was deliciously seasoned. Would recommend and would return. Dee was great also!

Ok....... The hostess was really nice to me, but was a bit mean otherwise. To be fair, it was fairly busy. The food though!..... was $80 worth of nastiness!... The rice was clumped together and hard. The fish was fishy and tough, and so was the greens (tough).. The ONLY thing that was REALLY worth getting was the rib tips.... #SAD

SOOOOO GOOOOOD! The catfish was so good and so generous, I took half of it home and ate it cold right out of the fridge! Fried cabbage and corn bread were also amazing. And the peach cobbler was the perfect ending to the meal. The service was good, as well❤️

What a cool little spot. The food smell when you open the door really starts the experience and it doesn't disappoint. We'll be back.

So happy we found this spot through google food near me. I ordered the smothered chicken with mashed potatoes w/ gravy and Mac and cheese. Everything was amazing including the kool-aid. It’s been a while since I’ve had food that was full of flavor. The waitress was so friendly and attentive, which made the dine in more pleasant. Thank you to all staff and the cook. We look forward to our next visit.

Outstanding. The service, the food, all of it. Fried okra, delicious. The rib tips, tender and plentiful, I couldn't finish and had to take the rest home! I recommend the Premium Mac-n-cheese...it's nothing too decadent or wild, it's JUST RIGHT. Outstanding, Charlie Mae.

Found this place on a whim and it was absolutely AMAZING. The service was great! It is such a cozy restaurant, it sent me right back home down south. I definitely will be telling everyone about this and making this my new spot with my girlfriend.

Literally nothing wrong top of top and very welcome love it , oh forget to talk about the taste omg it's really delicious they take there time with cooking to make sure you eat something cook well and taste best in valley thanks guys

Food came out at a good time and everything was hot and great. Ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture. My wife had the 3 piece with corn gravy and mashed potatoes the gravy and potatoes was homemade. I had the fried cabbage cornbread and rip tips. The tips were smoked to perfection I ate the gristle and all.We topped it off with a strawberry crunch cake. Definitely will be back to try something else.

I’m visiting Arizona from Houston, Texas and was looking for some great food to satisfy my cravings and this place DID NOT disappoint. Lori was our waitress, and she was so nice and welcoming. 10/10 recommend.

Love the food here! Beautiful area, very kind service. My partner and I ate lunch and it was DELICIOUS. I took my leftovers home for dinner 😋 Their takeout boxes are such high quality!

As you can see I absolutely demolished my plate and left none to spare. This was some of the best soul food meals i ever had in life and I highly recommend anyone in the area to make some time to swing by, great service and quick turnaround on food. Everything was very hot and fresh and tasted like it was made to order. 10/10. I had the honey hot chicken with mac n cheese/collards/yams

We were up here in Phoenix from Tucson and decided to stop in for dinner. Everything was SO good! We just finished dinner and I’m pretty sure I won’t be hungry again for 3 days! Everyone was so friendly and helped guide us through the menu and ensured we had a wonderful night! I couldn’t recommend Charlie Mae’s Southern Bistro enough! We will definitely make the drive back here!

Went here on a Friday night with the family. The dining room was not busy but there were many togo orders being picked up. We were immediately greeted and seated. The waitress who I assume was the chef/owner was welcoming, kind, and funny. The food was amazing. Everything was so good. We got the pulled pork sandwich, the shrimp and fish fry, my son got chicken and waffles, and daughter got a burger. Everyone loved their meal. The fried cabbage was great, the beans were nice n smoky, the waffle was sweet and yummy. The Kool aid and lemonades tasted great. Also, the prices were great. I feel much better supporting a small local business than overpaying at a chain restaurant. We can't wait to go back!

Yesterday, I ordered the 3 shrimp and fish fillet with french fries and collard greens. I thought the collard greens were a bit salty. I don't think ham was needed in it. The fish and shrimp were also a bit salty. Overall, the food wss good. My son orderd the rib eye with mashed potatoes and green beans. My son said the mashed potatoes were so good that it didn't need gravy.

Absolutely love the energy! Greeted automatically when walking in the door. (Felt like home) the food is out of this world. Got the three meat plate with cornbread and greens. So delicious! Definitely home cooked food. Will be back soon.

First time eating at this restaurant which was recommended by a friend.40min ride from my area. Some-what disappointed but I do believe in second chances.... It took awhile to place our order and receive it. Fried chicken very good, collard greens to crunchy, yams too watery, corn bread muffins not made from corn meal and does not come with meal (a la carte only) Some of us did not get collard greens due to greens still frozen(not thawed out) Iced tea very good! At the end of our meal dessert was never offered. Management need to improvement.

I got the wings basket, candied yams, fried okra, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and catfish. Not all for myself, but I tasted everything. everything was on point except one... the cornbread had great flavor, but it was dried out. Perhaps left uncovered? This Arizona air will get you. If it weren't for that you would get 5 stars all day long. And the service was great.
