Very cool bar, it's got a heavy metal bar vibe. Friendly bar staff, outdoor patio, big stage that's perfect for tribute bands and small touring outfits doing 150 capacity rooms. Love the local brews they have on tap. Moderately priced. Just an all around cool bar.

Came here totally by chance as the parking lot at the bar I planned on going to was completely full, and I’m glad I did! The vibe here is fantastic. Everyone seemed to know each other but I was immediately made to feel welcome and wanted. The happy hour is awesome and there’s a surprisingly great selection of craft beer for a neighborhood/dive. I came on karaoke night, which was a bonus! The space is cozy and just feels like a place to relax and have fun, and there’s a good sized patio as well. Nettie is a wonderful bartender! I will definitely be back!

It's a small bar but it offers great shows, drinks are a bit pricey, it has one pool table, pinball machine and a few arcades. Parking lot is big and convenient, you won't have a problem finding one. Restrooms are very uncomfortable since the men's bathroom stall has no door and the urinal doesn't have a wall to separate the sink so you'll be doing your business while someone next to you washes his hands. Other than that this is a cool place to hang out with friends, and yes it does have a patio where you can smoke.

Great dive bar! Great service, good drinks and options of different board games, darts and a pool table as well. Nice spacious inside and outside/back area was a smokers paradise with at least a little bit of protection from the sun, which is brutal right now in AZ. With themed nights such as 80s nights and karaoke, I do believe if you appreciate a true “dive bar” experience, this is the place for you. Definitely coming back and hoping to catch some good live music I’ve heard is pretty good hear as well.

Pretty cool spot to get started or end up. Sometimes you just wanna hang out and see what's going on. Great drinks, staff. Outside has window so that's cool too. Great place to stumble into for live event or some theme night. Maybe check ahead just in case for possible cover. Great thing is the drinks always make up any difference.

Fun place for Karaoke! Good mix of people and no drama! Drinks were tasty! It wasn't crowded but busy enough to feel like a party!

I don't drink, so I don't know what prices or tastes are like. The bartenders are all very sweet, though, even when I'm ordering just sparkling water from the tap over and over. I've played and seen music here a few times; it's fun. There's usually a good crowd. This is a dimly lit, punk rock dive bar, but it's not gross or sketchy. Cute patio, too. Outside of building is awesome - can't miss the retro marquee from the street.

Food is amazingly good here. Very light and easy for that hot Arizona weather. From the burgers to the fish sandwiches you can't go wrong. The outside is equipped with misting and fans to accommodate the heat. We would easily return for another bite!

Exactly the type of warm and friendly dive I've been looking for. Went on a Sunday early evening and had a great time on the patio. It's very convenient that there's a little window on patio to order drinks. Prices were average for a dive - just wish they had a cider on draft. Will be back!

Love this Bar!! Very chill. Has a stage for live performances. Bartender is very nice and down to earth I definitely recommend if you are in town to check out this amazing dive bar.

If you are over 30 or want to listen to music you can listen to, without screaming through, don't go there. All the songs had the same beat. even when they tried to play different songs. Pool table is nice, but many make their own rules because they can't shoot.

The Bartender with colored hair is rude.. I asked a simple question about the promoter for the show to book a future show and she said not to bother her. Also the bar promoted karakoe night that night and had a different event.. would not recommend for disorganization and rudeness

I love this place. My wife introduced me to this joint and its a home from home. Back in the UK theres bars like this so it feels comfortable going here. We will be back very soon.

I’ve only been here once - I stopped in late and found a busy pool table and karaoke. The vibe is a little punk rock and artsy. Most of the patrons are friendly, young . There is art on the walls with punk/goth/alternative bartenders. Reasonable priced drinks and a cavernous feel despite the fact that it is on the main floor. There is a great patio and inside a great stage and dance floor.

Every time i’ve been here for karaoke they never play my song. They’ll boost people they know in front of you even though you’ve been waiting for hours. I have yet to sing a song at this place because the djs have blantant favoritism of people they know. Even though they have a full roster they WILL make time for themselves to sing five songs themselves, like no one wants to hear that.

Hands down the most inclusive, welcoming bar in Phoenix. The bartender's tilt a generous hand. The live music ranges from Alt Country to Punk Rock with a much improved sound!

Every time I have visited this establishment I felt safe! I live in the neighborhood and always have the best time of my life when I happened upon this bar… I couldn’t quite pin point why. But now as a regular, I know it’s the bartenders, the djs and the patrons and the music!

This is not the Rip's I remember from 10 years ago. It's June and it's 110°, you're expecting to go to the bar and cool off and have a nice cold beer. Well, I got neither. After one drink we left. I doubt we'll ever go back unless someone turns on the AC and works on getting their beer at a decent temperature. So sad to see it's not like it was before.

Dive bar. Dirty in the best way. Attentive staff. Karaoke on Friday, Sunday and Monday. Hard to beat!

You don't have much to say about Rip's because it's exactly how you thought it would be: walls that are smothered in local art and advertisements; music that's so loud it's probably against regulation (and will cause permanent hearing loss); cheap, cheap drinks that may or may not taste good depending on your bartender. If that's your thing, Rip's is also a good time.

I don't know how to speak highly enough of this place. I happened to be in Phenix on a business trip, I looked up dive bars and I'm sure glad out of everything on the list I chose this bar. They had Kareoke on a monday! The bartender was friendly and a talented singer. The security was helpful and went out of his way to take care of pepole. The patrons were fun and interesting to talk to. The Kareoke dj was amazing and well organized. The art on the walls was brilliant. 10 out of 10 if I am ever lucky enough to come back to Phenix I will definitely pay this place another visit.

Came on a Thursday night. Wonderful music. The place was nice and cool inside and the patio was perfect place to chill. Little older bar, full of alot of regulars as I saw them take pictures all together on the stage. Hey have a little area with cups and water and the drinks were decent. Although I didn't dance there's plenty of room. Handicap stall bathroom was a little small but easy to maneuver and had a hand rail. Will come back again.

We've been to Rip's a few times. They have live bands most of the time. This time, we went for the Ratrod and Rockabilly show. There were some cool cars and great live rockabilly music. Rip's is great!

Cheap prices, clean bathrooms (almost elegant). Entertainment nightly. Can't expect more from a bar. I see a lot of reviewers refer to this as a dive bar but what dive bar has a dozen craft beers on tap (five of which are IPAs) and nice bathrooms?

I'm only giving 5 stars to Renee! She was absolutely great. The many times over the last few years I've entered the bar were not great. But this woman showed what a bartender was she was excellent! Love her. Can't wait to come back for a visit to see her! She's a keeper!

I work for a music company. We frequently need venues to photograph new products at, and in my research for a spot I stumbled across Rips. I worked with Nicky prior to the photoshoot day, and she was amazing! On the day of our shoot, her and Adrianne were super accommodating and nice to my team. They helped us with the lighting and provided snacks. Sadly, we couldn't enjoy a beverage since we were on the clock :( but I will for sure be back here on my own time, Rips is great!

Great local dive bar in a unique setting. The building is a blast from the past with cathedral like roof pitches and popcorn ceilings. When you step in it's like being transported back in time. The entertainment variety and bar games offer choices for people of all walks of life. The karaoke is a unique singing experience. The big screen over the stage allows the whole bar to join in on following the lyrics and signing along. Two mic's with one a old school 50's style one that makes you feel like a rock star. I got to see mojo sing a Nirvana song that blew me away. This is the type of bar that really passes the time away, before you know it it's closing time. This is the perfect combination of look and feel that every bar wants to grow up to be.

I was told Mike Dana would be there performing karaoke and I was fortunate to see him perform live. A million dollars worth of entertainment and it was available for less than $10 at Rips. The drinks are cold, cheap and the karaoke offers a stage. What more do you want in your dive bar.
