The views are fantastic!! The atmosphere is also top notch and I really felt immersed in the atmosphere and culture. I enjoyed my steak and potatoes. Our waitress was attentive and made sure we picked the best meal for each of us depending on our individual preferences (nice touch in a server ). I did drop it down to 4 stars due to the livestock outside of the restaurant, it seemed a bit disturbing seeing a cow in such a small confined area.

Fun atmosphere and delicious food! We had about an hour long wait on a Tuesday night so I can imagine weekends would be way worse. The patio offers a beautiful panoramic view of the city. We tried the Rattlesnake appetizer. I will say, it was not bad at all. My group couldn’t decide on just one thing so we ordered the Cowboy Platter. It was sooo much food but we got to try a bit of everything and had plenty left over for the next day. The ribs were my favorite by far. The flavor was amazing and they were fall-off-the-bone good! The brisket was fantastic, as well.

The entrance is a little strange and not disabled friendly. When you walk in they tell you that the hostess is upstairs. I asked for an elevator but they don't have one. They do have a REALLY steep ramp if you can make it up it. The food was meh! We found plastic in our beans (see picture below). Manager came over and just explained how that happens with a busy restaurant. He didn't seem concerned at all. We weren't looking for anything free, more worried about cross contamination. The servers and food runners all seem very unhappy, which I could understand if that is how management treated us, I can only imagine how they are treated. Our server was very on top of things and even took the steaks back since they were overcooked, even though we hadn't even seen the steaks so it wasn't us saying anything. They had a fun band playing and a slide indoors that the kids seem to really enjoy. The views on this place are spectacular! It is a great history of AZ so I'm hoping it was just an off night. Worth trying again.

Overall we had a great time here celebrating my son's birthday. The atmosphere is great and our server was excellent. In general, the food decent but not as good as other places. I had the brisket and sausage which was very good. The prime rib and sirloin steaks were decent. I would not recommend the salmon. If you have never tried rattlesnake, I would recommend giving it a try. Bring your appetite because they serve a ton of food!

The view and atmosphere was amazing. The cowboy platter was delicious and lots of food for three people. I would recommend this for hungry people. The staff was friendly and fast. This venue would be a great place to take out-of-town friends and family for an entertaining evening.

First time here, and was definitely a great experience. The atmosphere of the place is great right from the front door when you're greeted by the steer outside. Inside is just as good. The live music definitely suits the rustic country vibe. The service and food was great as well, ribs are unreal the the rattlesnake is a must try. Also can't beat the views of the valley while you have dinner. Will definitely be returning.

The ambiance is great! It's definitely one-of-a-kind! Rustic, western, great food and a fantastic view! I had the salmon and it was great! It's definitely a great place to take out of town guests and it's a fun night for locals as well! It's family-friendly and still a great date night option! A must- visit!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when my boyfriend decided we should go to Rustler’s Rooste. He had been once a time a long time ago and I had never been. The atmosphere is something I’ve never seen before. It’s.. old western looking I think? Luckily, it was pretty quiet so I enjoyed being able to have dinner without live music and many people chattering. My boyfriend was super interested in trying the rattlesnake (I was very hesitant!) the presentation of the dish freaked me out a bit too. I’m glad I decided to try it, we both thought it tasted like chicken. 😹 For our meal we had some kind of sampler platter with various meats and grilled vegetables. It was very large and we definitely had leftovers! I loved being able to try the variety of things this restaurant had to offer. The presentation was very pretty too! I wish I had taken a picture but sadly I didn’t. Our sever was great as well. I would definitely go back again.

Great BBQ! Great everything. Got there at 430pm on a Saturday and got right in. Fills up fast but this place is huge! Too much food to eat, plus it comes with salad and biscuits. Complementary cotton candy at the end is way cool! I wish I would have found this place years ago! I'm not a big BBQ lover, but this place was a hit with me and the family. Lines get long but seem to move fast.

The view is EPIC. The service was amazing. The food was alright. I'd go back for sure but not for the food. Next time I HAVE to sit outside. Tip is included just as a heads up. It gets busy, so make reservations or show up early. Live music was solid. Full bar. They even have a slide for kids. Multi story. If you don't like stairs then you might want to avoid this place. Check it out. They do have veggie burger for those who don't eat meat.

Beautiful views. Large portions of food. Family style sides. Prime rib was cooked the way I wanted. Flavorful. Onion rings were the best. The birthday package add on was great.

It's a cool place to get the feel of old school cowboy 🤠 arizona wild west. It's been there forever. Huge portions. I should've split my meal, it was so much. Good view of camelback, Phoenix, sunset and Tempe

Great place for the family. Everybody had a fun time, food was good, environment and layout added to the experience plus amazing view of the city below the hill. Sometimes it's hard to find a restaurant that strikes the balance with our kids and allows them to enjoy themselves and eat all their food.... Rustler's Rooste checked all the boxes. Definitely a special night for us though, because it's not a "tightly budget-minded experience".

I love going to this restaurant, and especially to take friends from out of town. It is very western, they have live band playing and you can totally feel that cowboy style as you enter. Feel free to wear cowboy boots and hats as this is the perfect place for that. Usually it’s very crowded and the wait time is very long , so make sure you make a reservation. I was able to make one using Google. If you like to food adventure, I highly recommend trying their rattle snake , it comes with fried nopales and some smoked spicy ranch. I saw a big price increase since last time , however , I feel the portion is bigger , two people can eat and get almost full. This used to be $17, it’s $28 now although the price was not on the menu. If you order entree , you’ll also get some house salad , you get biscuits with cream cheese and at the end you’ll be surprised by cotton candy in a bucket. It’s a great place to also have a beautiful view , the only thing that I have noticed though which made me give it 4 stars, is the service your get. I noticed a decrease in their customer service …well…just enjoy the food and the atmosphere and all will be good ;).

Fun place to take the family. It felt like we were entering a Disney theme ride when coming in. Loved the live music and views. The slide is a fun treat for the kids. We got the Cowboy platter for two and the meat and beans on the platter were very good. The Salad was not great and the biscuits didn’t taste fresh but it won’t keep me from coming back. Very fun vibe and the service was good. They also provide Cotten candy at the end to sweeten the deal.

Start with the pros ; This place is so unique, we loved the atmosphere. It's beautiful inside, very Western. Live band, and a slide in the middle for the kids. And of course the beautiful views. I see a lot of complaints about the service, For it being a fairly busy Tuesday night. We still got our food and drinks in a timely manner. They bring you complimentary salad and biscuits/fry bread with butter, so you have something to snack on while you wait anyways. The salad was pretty good. I didn't care for the breads, they were very dry. For an appetizer, we ordered onion rings and wings. Both were delicious, the wings were crispy and juicy, and the Onion rings were perfectly breaded. I would not recommend ordering a steak. We ordered two, and they were awful. Yes, they were cooked to our liking, but the lack of seasoning /tenderness was off-putting. I tried my little ones, chicken fingers, and they were honestly better than the steak. The drinks were delicious.. And we loved the complimentary cotton candy, tasted like lemons, so perfect. Side note: We originally came for the rattlesnake, but that wasn't available. So if that's a reason you're checking out the place , I would call ahead beforehand.

This place has some cool history, sits up on a hill with beautiful views. There is a slide you can go down as you head to your seat. It’s for all ages. You can have chance to try rattlesnake. It was very blah not much taste to it. But you can try it to say you have. The prickly pear margarita so smooth and perfect refreshing drink. The food was great and fulfilling.

I’ve been to Rustler’s Rooste several times. Every time I go we go with a group of people and we have such a good time! The environment immediately puts you in a good mood and the service there is incredible! Everyone is so friendly and fun! This time I went on a company event and it was amazing! The food was delicious and cooked just right! The decorations were so festive and it put us in the mood to dance all night long! The view of the city from here is breathtaking. This is definitely a good place to have a big Family dinner or company get together.

If you are looking for a fun and casual dining experience, then I recommend going to Rustler's Rooste. There is a live steer at the entrance and plenty of excellent BBQ meat options. You can even try rattlesnake if you dare! Rustler's Rooste offers some excellent views of Tempe/Phoenix. Great steaks and service with a great view of the city. The only restaurant I know of with a slide for the kids to enter.

We brought out of town guest expecting to get good food and 'fun service. That is what the restaurant advertises. Our waiter was a young guy who had zero personality and horrible serving abilities. The ribeye steaks were so tough we could not eat them. I was so embarrassed. Never again.

Very disappointing meal, The Service was horrible felt discriminated we arrived and the staff just stared at us, we got a table and our waiter was not wanting to serve us he only got our order taken and never came back, he sent another employee to give us the check, we had also ordered an appetizer and a side that we never got taken to our table, but guess what they did charged it to our bill. Came all the way from El Paso Texas, to only get nothing but a horrible experience, Never will we ever come back.

First time here & definitely won’t be my last! Food was delicious! The only con for me was the temperature of the food which was lukewarm, but I’ll just ask them to make sure it’s HOT next time. Our waitress was probably one of the best waitresses I’ve ever had! She was friendly, observant, and awesome! The view and the atmosphere only added to my already great experience. I will definitely be back!

What an awesome place! It's only open for dinner, highly reccomend making reservations because it gets super busy! Very western theme with a live band, a slide, and delicious food! Every table comes with a salad and cotton candy for dessert. The beef ribs are absolutely amazing, full of flavor and all you can eat. We also ordered the wings and great portion and flavor. The meal also comes with carrots, beans, corn, and fried bread. Lots of left overs, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a balloon maker comes by which makes it really feel family friendly. The view is really pretty and perfect at sunset. Check it out!!

Rustlers Rooste... Nostalgic atmosphere... interesting and inviting. Window views perched on a hill... everything around you in this restaurant is 'Southwest Pioneer'. I ordered the Rotisserie Chicken... arrived with vegetables and BBQ sauce. Fresh bread with butter as your starter. And a salad. The Bread was warm and delicious. Vegetables excellent and Chicken tender and flavorful. Great restaurant atmosphere rustic and loud... A unique dining experience. Note: If you want to order Rattlesnake it is currently unavailable. As of 7/22... Keep updated as to it's availability.

This place has the best view of the entire Valley! Come here early and take great pictures as the Sun sets and order from there great drink menu to cool down during these Summer days. As for the food your best bet is the beef ribs. They also give you a giant piece of cotton candy at the end of your meal.

The atmosphere was fun, with a live band, sliding board and balloon making guy. Portion sizes were over the top. We had the rattlesnake and cactus fries appetizer, there were 3 of us and we each had brisket nachos, rotisserie chicken, all you can eat beef ribs and we were all happy with our choices. Salad cowboy beans and bread are put on the table for everyone. The staff is friendly. The view was spectacular. We had to ask for the complimentary cotton candy but it was good as well.

First time here, so I made a reservation for 7pm requesting a table with a view as this was recommended to me for our anniversary. Overall, the view & experience were great for my first time. Just know that this place is incredibly crowded with a long wait, so that was the only downfall. We checked in about 15 minutes early & still had to wait 45 minutes to be seated (and this was the waiting time cut in half since we had a reservation). So by 7:30 we were super hungry when we got seated. In the future, we'll take any open table now that I've seen the view. Our only critique for my hubby's ribs is less sauce. Not everyone likes them super saucy, so I'd say less is more and let the customer ask for more sauce. It was cool to be up on the hill & I loved the live band. Nostalgic & reminded me of my Dad. Highly recommend!

Rustler's Rooste in Phoenix is the perfect unique venue for banquets, weddings, or business meetings. It's a blend of cowboy rustic and modern, with a fabulous view of the city right from your table. The menu follows suit with the barnyard theme and the family-style feel that makes you feel connected. The food was cooked perfectly, nothing too fancy, but a well-balanced and flavorful meal.

Beautiful, rustic place. I visited for dinner while vacationing in AZ. My steak was very good. The rest of the dinner, meh. Maybe offer other options or prepare what you are offering better. Also, I would think you have ALOT of food waste due to that and too much on your side portions. And that cotton candy was gross! Sorry, but that's the truth! We didn't even want it to begin with, but it was brought to our table. Maybe save that for the kiddos. Still worth stopping by. The atmosphere and views are gorgeous!

This place is fun for kids. We always take families here when they come from out of town. It's western themed and there are roaming performers -- magicians, balloon artists, etc. The food it not very good. Get the burgers and such and you'll be fun. It's a fun time all the same.

Let me preface this by saying that we were told that a table wouldn't be available for an hour when we got there. WORTH THE WAIT. Their aged ribeye was honestly one of the best steaks I have ever had. Definitely would recommend to anyone! You will not be disappointed!

Fell real short. Limited menu understandable with our current situation... Chicken was dry and our steak was gristle... Management did take care of us and didn't charge us. We will try again but will stick to burgers and fries Fun place to go great view.

I been here several times over the years...its not what it was previously...birthday party for my 14 year old dinner event..9 people... The service Josh did a great job....the salad was not crisp, the food overall had little flavor....my brisket was overcooked as was the sausage with the meal...my carrots were so overcooked....hardly anybody actually finished their meals as it wasn't that good in my opinion...it is a great venue...needs food to match...going back will not likely occur...

  • 4/5 Kimberly F. 3 years ago on Google
The rattlesnake is good but I did kinda feel like most of it was just breading with a little bit of meat in the middle. The fried shrimp were really good though, cooked really well and really big! Loved the bread too.

Went with steak recommended by server. She was horrible got my order wrong and got an attitude when I appointed it out to her. The ribeye was very fatty and chewy and was certainly not 21 ounces like advertised. She told me I got salad and bread before meal but she never brought it to me. When she brought it to table next to me I later asked her why I didn’t and she said well it’s free so you didn’t get charged for it. I laughed and said well you sure know how to make me feel special. Manager told me sorry he would talk to her about her service. I paid full price tipped her and left. Bad experience for me....at least the view was good!

  • 2/5 Jim W. 3 years ago on Google
The two of us had dinner there on Saturday night. The Covid menu is limited but our meals were fine. The primary complaint we have is the sheer number of kids running between the tables going to and from the Roost's famous slide. Besides all these kids yelling and laughing (a known droplet generator) around our table, should the slide really be open during the pandemic? The line up of kids waiting to go down the slide had zero 6 foot distancing...

  • 4/5 Rebekah D. 3 years ago on Google
The Place isn’t fabulous. It’s okay. Service was lacking. The menu is EXPENSIVE with limited side options. Carrots with my steak were bland. The unique thing was the rattlesnake and cactus dish! The view is beautiful and it’s an interesting atmosphere—but don’t expect exceptional food. Mediocre at best.

People who came in after us got their dinner before us and I ordered some small 14 dollar drink that was suppose include a glass upon leaving and well we didn't get that either i even tipped well. Very very disappointed and unacceptable service to say the least. We won't be back! I also see nobody who's left any kind of review has even be responded too smh.

This restaurant is all about the view and atmosphere. Both are fun and enjoyable. Their Covid menu is extremely limited and I was disappointed I could not order a salad or a simple baked potato. That night I wanted light fare, but the lightest on the menu was an impossible burger... At least a large, simple salad for our table to share was included, but I could have eaten half of that and been satisfied if I didn't have to share with five other people.

Rattlesnake tasted great, the fries bread and butter was delicious along with the cinnamon and plain butter. But other than that the food was sort of tasteless. I got the Ribeye medium rare but recieved it as medium. Not too picky about that, but it was tasteless. It comes to say I could make a better tasting steak in my backyard, it was nearly seasonless. I haven't had to put steak sauce on any steaks in years and that changed today. Other than that, the carrots were eh and the double baked potato was a tad bit underwhelming. But the free cotton candy at the end was a surprising bonus. I fully understand the perspective of the restaurant during these times , but it is my honest review.

Very disappointing meal. Service was good though and we tipped well. We had the wings, brisket, and salmon. All of these dishes were very dry and over cooked. The corn on the cob was chewy like it had been cooked hours earlier or reheated from the day before. Twice baked potato also tasted like it had been sitting around. Not like I remembered at all.

This place is huge! We came for the rattlesnake but we also ordered the jalapeno macaroni and cheese, brisket nachos that comes with some beans, a HUGE peace of chocolate cake. 9 layers to be exact! I've had so many great memories at Rustler's Rooste. This restaurant has amazing food, best views of the valley, and special service. Every time I've been, I've been treated extremely well, and they've always taken great care of us. I went to school at ASU, and when I think of my favorite restaurant in college, I don't even flinch when I say Rustler's Rooste. Not enough of my friends go here, but this is the best. I recommend their beef ribs, but everything is fantastic - chicken, appetizers, etc. my only suggestion for this restaurant is to expand their beer selection. However, the sunset views, live music, and lively atmosphere make this place truly unique.

Our main entrees were great but we were unable to choose our own side dish. For the cost of the meal, I’d like to choose my own sides. Having a live performer was a nice touch, what made it awesome was his wonderful voice.

I went for Christmas so the menu was a little restricted. But you get what you payed for. I ordered a 16oz prime rib. Most places you order a 16 and you really get a 10oz with about 4 oz of fat. Not here that freaking slab was 16 oz of meat with any an extra 3 oz of fat and it was under 30 dollars. Wasnt a fan of the trimming selection but for the price I think it was a solid choice. The views of the city are great too. Always get a reservation do not walk in. We had a 5pm reservation and there was a line out to the parking lot and we all had a 5pm res. Like standing in line for a Disneyland ride. They don't do line cuts so we still had a 45 minute wait with a reservation so if you walk in without one guarantee your wait will be insane.

The service was excellent. The upper level has the best sunset view of Phoenix. The food and drinks were good but a bit pricey.

The view was spectacular. Id love to come back when its not as busy, it would be the perfect place for a romantic first date, anniversary, girls night out, this place was great. Tony our server was excellent!! My fav thing here was the Watermelon Margarita....ohhhhmyyyyy SO YUMMY!!

Not much variety on the menu but I liked how they had complementary bread (w/ cinnamon butter), cesar salad & beans. I ordered the twice baked potato & wings. The hot wings were perfectly cooked had a bit of crunch to it and rightly seasoned. I honestly will be coming next time to try the Big Burger when I have more of an appetite. I had good customer service. Very nice rustic vibe even had live background the view is immaculate suggest night time for a beautiful view. This would be a pretty good place for a date.

Food was very good . Server Bryan was great . Only issue is we were freezing the whole time. It was too cold... All the party felt this way.

American food and service at this spot is great. Entered near eleven, it wasn't packed. The prices are good for what you get. Atmosphere is similar to a place in Columbus I loved.

Rustlers Roost is always a great scenic and rustic spot. It's got an old west theme a d history to back it. It's a great place to eat and the view is amazing. I always recommend this spot when the sun is setting because it's amazing.

Fun place and good food. Tried the rattle snake and it was good, not fond of the cactus fries that came with it but well worth trying. Kids love slide. Crowded and not that big on social distancing, but people masked when not at table.

This has been a favorite in the southeast valley for well over 30 years, mainly for veiw but also for the western uniqueness and the outdoor seatimg. It has been a long time since I was there and I was a little disappointed with the place. The prices seed high, the food seemed dry and my favorite part-the slide that you can take instead of the stairs was only open for children and there were tons of unsupervised kids running up the steps and piling on the slide. It was an ok visit but nothing spectacular as my family thought about Rustlers Roost before - we used to take visitors there all the time.

The reviews here are absolutely spot on. Upsides - its a very unique location with amazing views and lots of cool ambience (waterfall, slide, bull, live music, etc). The view is near impossible to beat in the PHX metro area. The free cotton candy dessert was also a nice touch Downside - the food. The cook on everything was excellent, but they used absolutely no seasoning on most everything. I'm not usually a big salt / seasoning proponent, but it tasted like most items we got had literally zero. We tried the cowboy sampler for 2 and the 10 oz steak. Only the carrots and potato wedges had any added flavor on top of the base flavor of the food. I still give it 4 stars as the food isn't bad. The quality and cook was great. Its just very strange as I've never been to a place that didn't use seasoning. Being used to how 'most' restaurants season stuff, its a bit off-putting.

Amazing place. It's not often that you find a great meal and a great experience at the same place. The history, the slide, the food, or the view: which is the best reason to eat here?

  • 5/5 David T. 2 years ago on Google
Super fun layout and entrance, with overall features of restaurant living up to its name. Great view, better as the sun sets... perfect time to be there. Steaks were cut and cooked great. Super fun place for large groups, and even our small party of just 11.

The views alone are worth the visit we went as the sun was setting and it was beautiful. The live music was good, it is a two story restaurant so if you want to be closer to the music as for a seat downstairs. They have a real longhorn outside before you enter. It is best to call ahead as it does get very busy. The wait was not too long, maybe 20 min. The food was good, and the portions are large, so order wisely 😋. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The appetizer was a meal by itself. We will definitely be going back.

This is a great place. Just so well done and exceptionally well run. Our server Brenden was one of the best I have ever had world wide. The guy is a pro. Easily handled our part of 16 and a few other tables at the same time. Really can’t say enough about him and the whole staff. The live music was great and not overwhelming. Only wish would be for more menu options.

This place is really cool if you’re looking for a fun, family oriented, old fashioned southwest bbq experience. Although the food was average I’d say, the atmosphere makes up for it with stunning views overlooking downtown Phoenix and even live music and a slide for kids to play on.

Over the years, I think the quality of food has gone down. But it's a great place to take out of towers to get an Arizona experience (high enough to see beautiful Arizona sunsets and city lights, cowboy themed, fun slide for the kids (and adults), and can order rattlesnake).

  • 3/5 Mitchell R. 7 months ago on Google
This might be the most interesting restaurant t I visited this year. Before you enter the restaurant your greeted by a large bull. Inside there is a live band, kids slide and someone who comes around for balloon animals. Some food was great and some was just ok. The family style salad was boring. Howrver the prime rib was pretty good. The family style beans served to the table was the most impressive part of the meal If you can believe that

Went for my birthday. Atmosphere was Amazing. Personality of waiter was Great, but it was so busy we didn't see him much. I had the unlimited beef ribs, I personally didn't care for them. Hardly any meat and over seasoned with the rub and BBQ sauce

Such a fun place. Views and ambience are amazing. Live music was lovely. Food delicious. We ordered the cowboy platter and chocolate cake for dessert, both were awesome!! Our server didn’t bring us the cotton candy even though we asked about it in the beginning so that was disappointing. The bread basket seemed like it had been sitting for a bit before being served to us. My water wasn’t refilled luckily it was a huge glass to begin with otherwise everything was excellent. Definitely a place people should visit at least once.

Our waitress was awesome. The food was great and she gave us a free beef rib sample to try as we had ordered the pork. Very friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. We loved the cocktail with the keepsake glass as a souvenir and the free cotton candy.

Dinner with a view!? This was a beautiful place to be at night overlooking the city. The band playing with the kids going down the slide, made for an entertaining dinner! The server recommended the salmon with their Cajun butter sauce and it was amazing. This is definitely a good place for birthdays and celebrations.

Fun experience! Live music with an authentic county bar feel. Can’t beat the cow before walking in and the slide next to the band. Prime rib was a hit and delicious. Definitely will be sharing this place with friends and family.

Do you like a meal with a cowboy flair? Look no further than iconic Rustler's Rooste. Perched on top of a hill with views of the east valley. The steaks are tasty and so are the sides. We enjoyed the cactus fries and rattlesnake. Yum.

From the moment we arrived this place was great. From the hostesses to the server our server was Isabella she was super attentive and gave us excellent service. We had the rattlesnake bites a must try, cause why not. Then we had sereral steaks cooked to a perfect rare the way God intended. With some sides they were legit. Anyways good spot
