We hosted one of our pre-wedding events at Aunt Chilada’s and Michele and her team helped us put on a beautiful, lively event with great food and drinks. The outdoor patio has a great vibe, and is very clean and spacious with beautiful landscaping and nice flowers if you’re trying to take some pictures before your event. Many of our guests were coming from the East Coast, and they enjoyed the unique introduction to Arizona. The team at Aunt Chilada’s also has a lot of options available to build a really fun event. For example, we had a margarita cactus (!), a pinata, and a mariachi band. They also have ping pong tables and they let us bring in some additional lawn games. They also let us bring in our own DJ. Michele was great to work with throughout the planning process and she worked hard to help us keep the event within our budget. All of the rest of the team was friendly, polite, and helpful. Most importantly, the food and drinks were fresh, delicious, and plentiful! Thank you Aunt Chilada’s for giving us a great start to our wedding weekend, we are really happy and grateful for how the event turned out.

This place is perfect for when the weather is not super hot outside. The outdoor atmosphere is great for any occasion. Ordered Chicken and Steak Fajitas and was very pleased. Would recommend and visit again.

So Disappointed!!!! We have been eating here for the past few years and have spent a lot of money there. We went there the other day as my family came from out of town and after we got done eating, I went to the restroom, and I went to flush the toilet, and happened to notice a bug crawl across the toilet tank. It went so fast that I didn’t catch what kind it was. I went to wash my hands and there I see another bug on top of the sink counter And realized it’s a baby cockroach. Needless to say, I don’t ever want to eat there again as if it’s in the bathroom it’s most likely in the kitchen & food. I informed Tiffany the manager of this and she went immediately to see it for herself after showing her the pictures. She never came back up to the front to talk to me as I stood there for 10 minutes waiting as the hostess went to look for her and couldn’t find her. The hostess gave me her phone number And I called her later that afternoon to talk to her about it. She kept claiming there was only one when I clearly told her I saw two babies, and if their babies there’s probably multiples. I explained to her when I went outside to meet my family then I told them what I was doing because I had to stand there and wait so long. My daughter informed me that one of her friends parents is the one who exterminates there and told me that they have an infestation problem with cockroaches. Tiffany took offense to that statement, insisting that I only saw one cockroach. To me one cockroaches is one too many in a restaurant. This was handled very poorly by management. I don’t recommend!!

One of the most beautiful outside eateries in Phoenix. Incredibly comfortable and the food was amazing. Chips were different from what I’m used to: a mixtures of flour and corn chips…nice twist. The salsa was perfect Although, I wasn’t impressed with the churros, the 3 leches cakes was incredibly delicious. I understand staff is on a low, so be advised, service was very slow.

Parking was OK but right. We were seated immediately and service was fast and friendly. Chairs for the twaddle were wobbly and could be uncomfortable for some. Drinks arrived and orders taken. The doors were open and there were no fly deterrents as we were bothered many times. I ordered a beef burrito with enchilada sauce. It arrived hot and tasty. The rice should have been put on the plate after baking because it was hard. The Bakken of the meal was good and the server was attentive. Prices were market and fair. Salsa was very good.

Ask them about the building and how they came about. One of the owners is an amazing chef and the food is beyond excellent. The staff is family so they treat u like family.

August 9 2023 review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars NOT GOOD!!! ❤️Start off; took my sister here for her birthday, and my mom. We ordered the stuff pineapple with shrimp, which was fantastic!!! A big recommend, even though it's on the appetizer menu. ☹️BUT: all three of us ordered the special of the day which was spinach chicken enchiladas. A Complete train wreck ..., It had no flavor whatsoever, very bland tasted like cafeteria food. All three of us felt the same way.. I asked for some green chili sauce to put on it, and they brought out some green chili that was puréed with sour cream, which diluted the green chili flavor.. It was really really bad. I really like this place, but I will never order that dish ever again there. Sometimes it's a hit and sometimes it's a very bad Miss.... Sorry but you guys drop the ball on that enchilada mess. Old Review: ❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars Love this place!!!! The great food and the amazing courtyard reminds me of the Mexican restaurants in Old Town San Diego. The food is fantastic will definitely be coming back as my #1 Mexican restaurant in Phx.

I apologize, I expected authentic Hispanic/Mexican food. Food was ok, lightly flavored. Being that this food is my culture, it's not 100% . I'm not shaming the owners but definitely not authentic. If one is going to make our dishes it should be made with love, heart and not a thought of what one considers Mexican food. Tamales were dry, more masa than meat. It was my first time here, def won't be returning. If I wanted a knock off of Mexican I'd go to Taco Bell

This review is based on my daughters experience here, but she is too kind to write this herself. She has been a long time customer here, as have my wife and I, and has gone out of her way to try to support them during the pandemic. A few days ago, she had a fish taco, the only thing she had eaten that day and later got pretty sick. So, she thought she should let them know what happened so she called. She really wasn't trying to get anything from them, that isn't her nature. She just wanted them to know. When Tiffany got on the phone, and the incident explained, instead of showing empathy or taking any sort of responsibility, she said "oh I had those last night too." Not the sort of response you would expect from a business owner or manager. And, even if she had, so what? So, my daughter as well as my wife and I will never be back and we will encourage everyone we know to avoid the place as well. We support local business, but only caring and responsible ones.

Tried this place today for dinner. Saw the many good reviews and thought we’d pick up dinner here to go. The food was very low quality. The beans tasted like canned refried bean dip, almost like the Rosarita canned refried beans. Like you can taste the preserative in the beans. The rice was a bit dry and nothing special. We ordered tamale enchilada combo and it just was flat out not good. The tamales literally taste like the frozen green corn tamales you can get at the grocery store. If you want to save some money, try the Amy’s Frozen Tamale. They literally taste the exact same. Another thing that supports my theory that these are frozen tamales was when I tasted the tamale right out the container it was extremely cold. I heated the tamales for 2 mins in the microwave and they were still cold! I had to reheat it for another 2 mins just so they would be warm. The enchiladas were not good either, super greasy. Overall, the food was not good and I would not recommend. The patio and seating looked nice, so maybe when the pandemic is over I’d come for a drink, but the food left a lot to be desired.

Hidden gem! Be sure when you go in, you follow the red path straight passed the outside bar to check in. We sat outside and the home made chips were delicious. Food was excellent! Will be back!

My wife held her 50th high school reunion at Aunt Chiladas. The staff was incredibly helpful and gracious. The rooms and outside patio were set up and very comfortable and ready to receive us as we arrived. The food (we had selected the menu in advance) was served hot and fresh, and was very tasty. And we had plenty to eat! There was a bar available and they provided a PA system for announcements. Everything we could ask for was there for us, and we had a wonderful evening (followed by brunch the next morning). We highly recommend this location for any sort of function. You will be well fed and comfortably taken care of! Thanks!

If you're a fan of Mexican cuisine, you won't be disappointed by this restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you're transported to a colorful and lively atmosphere that perfectly complements the delicious food. The menu featured a range of classic Mexican dishes, as well as some unique creations that offered a fresh take on traditional favorites. Whether you're in the mood for tacos, enchiladas, or something a little more adventurous, there's something on the menu for everyone to enjoy. The service was a little slow but I assume it was because of the big group. They did respect our dessert request though.

I absolutely love this place and have been going there for years. The patio is beautifully landscaped with flowering Vines and pots of all shapes and sizes. The food is always good and portion sizes are large. Last time my wife and I split the steak and shrimp fajitas and when paired with their incredible chips and salsa it was just the right size for a healthy lunch. Our server was attentive and this is a great spot to just hang out and enjoy the beautiful weather. I would love to give this place 5 stars as I really do love going here. A few things keep me from it though. Several times the wait between ordering drinks and receiving them has been rather slow. I know it isn't their servers faults because they have always been great, and stay on top of things. I feel there is a delay though when ordering drinks on the patio? The couple we were with commented on it as well. I also disagree with only getting 3 small tortillas when ordering. The amount of meat and sides is great, then there are 3 small tortillas.... And when you ask for more they kindly charge you for them and say nothing of it. It is this way with a few items in their menu. So that is a little upsetting. Other than that this really is a great spot for a family meal and you can even have your pups on the patio. I hope this review was helpful and Make it a great day!!

What a great Mexican restaurant. It is located in a cool historic building that was a general store in the 1800’s. They’ve done a great job with the additions to the building matching the original architecture. The food is amazing. Our group sampled many dishes, including the cheese crisps, burritos, chimichangas and tostadas.

Very Americanized Mexican food in my opinion. Was lacking flavor and spices. The chips were yummy and crunchy, but the salsa was lacking spice and flavor. The dishes we got were also without much flavor. Overpriced for the quality. The building and patio were beautiful. I like the decor and vibe. Had high hopes of this place, especially with so many high reviews, but it was really disappointing. Also, one of the workers left thru a door near our table, leaving the door open with the door stopper down. Made us extremely hot and uncomfortable. They didn't refill the salsa or water.

I dropped by this place on my way out of Phoenix for some authentic Mexican food. Their tamales should not be skipped! They are downright amazing! Hands down the best tamales I've had. The ambiance was great. The service was spot on. I helped myself to a double barrel hand tossed. Margarita, that is their house made tequila. Very good. Very smooth. All around a wonderful experience. I'll definitely take my family next time I come through town.

Took a golf cart ride from the Hilton to this little place. When we walked in they asked if we were interested in their happy hour in the bar. Duh….. yes we are!! Party of 5 seated quickly and greeted by a very friendly waitress/bartender. Ordered a round of margaritas on the rocks. They were excellent and inexpensive. Chips and salsa were ok until we asked for spicy salsa. The regular salsa has black olives in it and was more like chunky tomato sauce. Then it was fabulous! The super spicy was the best. I got 1 shredded beef and 1 chicken taco on happy hour. They were enormous. After filling up on spicy queso and guacamole i barely had room for them but I managed to finish them. The spicy queso is delicious and the guacamole was fresh! Cute patio area and a huge outdoor covered area. If you are staying at the Hilton, this is a must! Enjoy!

This place was absolutely delicious! I had a seafood quesadilla with scallops and shrimp in it that Gordon Ramsay said was the best thing on the menu! Affordable and under $15 too!! This is a great place for large groups also as the place is enormous. Beautiful outdoor seating and a ton more indoors. Our server did an excellent job attending to our group of 20 people and was very attentive. PS the tequila and my Mexican old fashioned was excellent!

Food wasn’t bad, but the service was not great. It wasn’t that the servers were rude, they were actually very polite. It was the fact that the server came by only one time after he took our order. It also took us three tries to get some water.

Aunt Chiladas is hands down one of the best Mexican food restaurants in the Valley. From a relaxing almost other country atmosphere to some of the best margaritas and food that you can find, this place is a regular stop for us when we are in town. And don't be afraid to check out their outside dining. Top it all off, Aunt Chiladas has an incredible venue for large parties/gatherings (although right now this isn't much help with the 'Rona). My wife and I got married here a couple years back and their staff and ownership was second to none with accommodating our party and making it an EPIC event! Highly recommended. Stop by for a good drink, good meal, and good time!

I recently moved to the neighborhood and did not realize I am within walking distance of the original Aunt Chiladas. So Sunday evening, my older son was invited to a sleepover leaving my younger son devastated. He was so sad all day and I tried so hard to cheer him up and give us something we could do, just the two of us. I decided I would let this little 4 year old do the all the stuff he normally can't do including staying up late, and drinking soda. At around 9:15 PM we got in the car and drove down the street to Aunt Chiladas. We were warmly greeted by Tiffany, who I later found out is the general manager. She was so sweet and saw to it that we could order a snack and a few drinks although the kitchen had already closed up. We walked around their beautifully decorated indoor and outdoor spaces having our little mommy/ son date and I could tell he felt really special. Upon our arrival, I was a little insecure that people would look at me like I was a crazy mom who should have her kid in bed and not in a "bar" setting drinking soda but Tiffany made such a genuine and warm connection with us and made me feel super comfortable and welcomed. The icing on the cake was when we were walking out of the property and Tiffany caught up to us asking my little son if he got to see the treasure chest. He had not so she ran in and pulled him out a little bag full of goodies. When I put him into the car, he said " I love my new aunt" and smiled sweetly. I drove home smiling as well, knowing that I could make my little guy feel special instead of sad and create a very memorable evening for us. I couldn't have done it without Tiffany, and for that I thank you! This industry is as much about the people as it is about the food. Although I did not try the food (only fries, they were good) I can say these are good people who run a good business. Check them out

PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES TAKE NOTE. Up until last year, we came once or twice every week since 1988. Tiffany (manager) mocked my shellfish allergy saying, 'enough already' when I called ahead of time to see if she would overseer my meal. I take my allergy very seriously...my husband and I never went back nor any of our hospital crowd. We are large tippers. For shame Tiffany. You do no justice to an otherwise good place. The servers are sweet, the atmosphere pretty. Others agree of your righteous, pompous and entitled affect. This is difficult for me to say but you literally 'curse' the experience of an otherwise great place.

What a great spot! They have a nice patio and excellent service. I liked their chunky salsa.. I would like it a bit more spicy (I've since learned I can ask to add some spice). We ordered a few apps and my favorite was the pineapple shrimp!! You should really order this app... I don't usually love shrimp.. but I LOVED this dish. We got chicken fajitas and they were amazing! We would come here much more often if we lived here. But when we visit we will be back!

Exceptional service, restaurant adhered to safety guidelines, and great food! My daughter held her wedding reception here on January 2, 2021. I cannot say enough about Michele Woods who was our point of contact for the event. Michele communicated with my wife and exceeded our expectations from the beginning of the process. Planning a wedding can be difficult already but making one happen during a pandemic was extremely challenging. Michele worked with us throughout December to address our questions/concerns if AZ would change indoor dining protocols. She provided alternative solutions and worked with us to provide a final headcount less than a week before the wedding due to last minute cancellations. The venue was open air and all the employees (servers/bartenders/etc) were courteous, helpful, and welcoming. We had a variety of dishes and each one was authentic and tasted great. If you are looking for a venue to hold a special event, consider Aunt Chilada’s.

Even have a brand new double troff sink right when you walk in where you can wash your hands. Wait staff was very accommodating, even moved the heaters closer to us when we asked. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing food! We were able to be very spaced out away from other diners on the patio, staff was great about finding us a table we felt comfortable at and being masked. Wonderful experience during a time when we almost never eat out. Will definitely be back!

Come on Aunt Chiladas, quit messing with people, especially when the economy is so bad!!! This is not the way to win customers - I called in to place an order. The food has always been excellent. But they told me that they were very busy and probably could not take my order for quite a while, but it might be better to order online. OK, cool, I can do that. Until at checkout I see it is a $3 fee JUST TO ORDER online. Come on, you have top level pricing, that should be enough. Don't try to nickel and dime people after that!

Food was great and their patio is really a great venue.

The food is not authentic although it's good. People who have never eaten authentic Mexican food don't know the difference. For them the food is great and for me it's ok.

Terrific food and service! Everything from their great chip & salsa dip to their wonderful entree selections.

Our group was treated amazing as soon as we walked in. The manger gave us private seating around their fire place and also surprised the table with a free shot. I wish we would’ve gone here sooner I would’ve ate here every day! Amazing amazing food, especially their chips! And amazing amazing service :)

Clover was our waitress and she did a fantastic job taking care of us. The food was quality & came out fast besides decent beer options.

Really terrific traditional style Mexican food. The flour tortilla chips were outstanding. Cadillac margarita came with extra in the shaker. Shredded beef tacos, refried beans and rice were delicious. The sopapillas came with this fantastic cream cheese and honey on the side. I'd go back just for that! I hadn't dined here is decades, but will definately be back. Service was good too. There are a couple of very large outside patios so social distancing inside or outside is not a problem here. Enjoy!

It took us a LONG time to get our food, and we were there at about 2 in the afternoon, so not during a busy time. The waitress was friendly and efficient, so it wasn't her fault. When we did get our food it tasted fine, but was nothing outstanding. Overall I was not impressed,.

We were only in town for three days and we discovered this place right before we left. We wished we would have found it sooner. Just a short walk from the Hilton resort where because of COVID restrictions there were not many dining options. The food was fantastic and the service was very friendly. I would definitely come back if I am ever here again!

Always a great time! They have done some nice changes since I was there last, creating a really comfortable and inviting outdoor space. You can sit under rows of ambient lighting and refreshing misters while enjoying drinks, meals and/or friendly encounters. They also have indoor seating for those who don't want to be exposed to the outdoor elements. Employees are always friendly and fast. I make it a habit to eat here when I'm on that side of town. It's versatile enough to be great for family dinners and salsy enough for evening date nights. Make sure to give it a try!

Wonderful food! Portions were generous. My cocktail was a hibiscus drink, it was refreshing and tasted really good! Would definitely dine again.

The atmosphere is beautiful! Gorgeous patio area and fun interior too. From the delicious chips and dip through our main dish, the food was great. Our server and all other staff we interacted with throughout the building were smiling, pleasant and helpful. I only too a quick snap shot of an interesting plant hanger they had many of on the patio. Highly recommended.

A great Phoenix staple! The margarita was on point. The salsa all was good but a little different than most. Food was pretty good… my husband cleaned his plate. Being August in the early evening, no one was sitting outside due to high temperatures, but the outdoor space looks amazing. Indoors was great and so special in this historic building. Staff was friendly and helpful. When I lived in Phoenix, I enjoyed going here. It was great to visit again on vacation!

The food is good, the outdoor patio area is amazing, the salsa is absolute trash. No spice to it, contains olives, and VERY chunky. Chunky like whole quarter slices of tomatoes.

Everything experienced during our Celebration of Life was top-notch! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was so delightful. Eric, who organized this Celebration for his mother, was incredibly thoughtful for his mother's favorite thing and wishes. It really was a service of great fulness for the life our friend lived! Such a beautiful tribute and honorable send off for her! A big thank you to everyone who made this a day of joyful reflection!

Stopped in for a quick bite at lunch. Nice restaurant and staff seems very fun! I had the chopped Mexican salad and a Tito’s Rita which was perfect!

Great atmosphere, service was good.... The food is beautiful but sadly I found it to be pretty bland. Outdoor patio was very nice ambiance and the location makes you forget what part of Phoenix you're near lol

Love the ambiance here! I had been to the one in Tempe but this one is definitely much nicer!! They had a bans playing the night we went and it's very romantic in the outdoor dining area with the lights. Food was good, drinks were pricey for the amt in the glass so I only got one but thought it tasted good. The chips and salsa were great 👍- I've definitely had better tortilla soup but it wasn't bad. My husband loved his shrimp pasta fettuccine-style dish. We'd definitely go back!

I have wanted to come here for a long time. I finally did go with a group for lunch. Granted, it was a large group, so my complaints about the poor service may be a little unfair. But the service was very bad. The food was adequate. There is nothing special about it. The patio is amazing. Very cool vibe. I may try this place again purely for the patio, and maybe the service will be better when it is just me and my wife
