Just saw this gorgeous show at the Tempe Center for the Arts. It is absolutely STUNNING in every way! Everything, from the tickets to the decor, to the brochures and pamphlets to the posters are all exquisite in old world magic aesthetic. The show itself is thrilling! Filled with fun moments of audience engagement, this show delights in mystery, fanfare, beauty, and of course, a wonderful sense of magic and wonder! There is nothing quite like experiencing the Carnival Of Illusion here in our beautiful state. Nothing comes close to capturing the beauty of magic and the soul of the world, quite like these two. An absolute delight, all around! And, if you're celebrating a birthday or anniversary with magic in the air, the stars will align with a lovely surprise! After the show, this magic duo comes out to greet everyone personally and spend a bit of time with you after the magic. If you're celebrating with them, they'll even pose for photos with you too! <3 Oooh la la!

The show is fabulous! I highly recommend it! We are trying to get to the next show in Mesa to take my grandmother, as she would love it! The presentation is a welcome change to the norm of entertainment in this age! It even thrilled -and challenged- our 15 year old son who is interested in little except sports and movies that involve blowing things up! Each of us had a favorite illusion that we pondered and tried to decipher over dinner after the show. I loved how engaging and interactive the show is with the audience. Laughing and smiling gives a welcome boost to any day! It’s variety of talents and topics flowed and it had my continual interest of β€œwhat next?, what could possibly top that?” Among the many times I said, β€œunbelievable”, the greatest disbelief was how fast 80 minutes passed. Roland and Susan are amazing and rare entertainers. I have seen David Copperfield and several other magicians/illusionists on stage and their big techno stunts are impressive, but to me they appear to be more technology than the true art of magic and illusion. Super unique entertainment! Go!

My best friend from childhood was visiting from Milwaukee and i wanted to do something fun and different while she was here. So my husband, my friend and I got tickets to Carnival of Illusion. The Mesa Center for the Performing arts is a fabulous venue and the small theater was just the right size for an intimate performance with every seat in the house perfect. The three of us absolutely loved the show. Roland and Susan were fantastic. They're super magicians and charming to boot. I highly recommend this show.

Roland and Susan were awesome! What an awe-inspiring show. I kept thinking how utterly amazing it was the illusions/tricks they performed. They are SO good at their craft. The venue was very nice. And the attention to detail wonderful. The atmosphere was small, personal and intimate with audience participation. These two really are brilliant performers. Worth the money and time. Go see them!!

If you are looking for a fun Family oriented show that keeps moving this is it. The Staff is welcoming, professional, and courteous. Their follow up and follow thru is exemplary. The entertainers know their stuff and the show is pleasant. For an evening out I would recommend it. You may want to have dinner at the hotel as the food their is also excellent

A truly charming evening of entertainment. A very engaging show, intimate, intelligent, and often funny. This is real close up magic. Done very skillfully. A great addition to any visit to the Biltmore.

Cannot believe how much fun I had and how captivated I was by this! I want to go back a million times! My mind has been completely and forever changed!! After dreading β€œanother night of magic with my husband”, the years of training and studying put into your craft shine through in your show! On my way out, you commented on how you enjoyed watching my reactions on my face, thank you for putting on and putting so much time into such an amazing performance!!! Loved! Loved! Loved!!!

Night of magic and laugh. I truly enjoyed from the first to the last minute of the show. My husband and me had a very delightful night. Show is very interactive, and that brings very intimate parlour experience. Thank you Sarlot & Eyed for such amazing night. I will be back with my friends.

My wife and I attended their 5:30 show last night as an early evening Valentine's Day gift to ourselves. We were greeted promptly when we arrived and when the theater opened we were shown to our seats up front row seats 11 & 12. The set's presentation was lavish and beautiful. A myriad of details hung before us, each making us wonder how and when they would be incorporated into the show. The show started on time and the magic show began. But calling it simply a magic show doesn't do it enough justice. Yes there were displays of close up magic, some tried chestnuts, many new to me; but there were two other components at play last night. There was the pure showmanship of the pair, a few times they compared themselves to PT Barnum, but I think that does them a disservice. There's was an act of both magic and theater, a work of art well honed through their 800+ shows, but never appearing tired. Thirdly there was the charismatic way that the two of them worked with each other, supported each other's individual displays, and the ease with which they worked the crowd to involve them in the very acts of the show. The whole thing came together to become something far greater than the sum of each of their parts. I can not urge you hard enough to go see them. It is truly a worthy experience, especially for any who are fans of magic, vaudeville, carnivals, and a genuinely solid entertaining show.

I Love illusion. We have seen some of the great masters in the past year. I didn't know what to expect. This show mixed some fantastic illusion, cabaret, and intimate interaction between Roland, Susan, and the audience. Everyone was included in the fun and intimate detail. It takes place in Tucson in the parlor room of the 200 year old Scottish Rites building. The atmosphere lends to the "ooh-la-la" fun that one is about to take part in. I highly recommend this show to anyone who wants to enjoy themselves. I was onstage for one of the "old time standard" magic show, holding straps attached to Susan. So as not to ruin your fun, I will not go any further other than to say I was wowed! Also, the wonderful people who are the silent partners, behind the scene are beyond fabulous. My hop-a-long Sharon had broke her ankle the night we were originally were going to see them. The accommodation, customer service, and love shown by everyone was beyond spectacular. One more time, I can not say it enough. You have to go!

Such a wonderful evening out! From the very get-go everyone was very warm and welcoming. I loved the decor (vintage chic) personally. The show is fun, with cute banter between the performers and even crowd participation. If you're wanting to try something different for birthday or anniversary, I highly recommend seeing Carnival of Illusion! Ooh la la!

We had such a great time at the show! The magicians are entertaining and performed some classic magic tricks! They involve the audience which breaks up the show and allows for interactive fun. Definitely would recommend for a date night or outing with the family!

Great experience for all ages (website states ages 8+). The performance was very engaging and exciting and they are both seasoned entertainers. The show feels personal and intimate with the audience. My wife and I were running a few minutes late and they waited for us and all other guests to arrive before starting the show. Audience participation is high, so keep that in mind if you fear the stage. Great fun!

Went on valentines night with my wife. We have been looking around to do new things (new bees in AZ) and came across this show on the internet. Was a good show, inexpensive the only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the chairs little to close thought they could have made them a little more spread out.

I have always enjoyed going to live performances of any kind, but Carnival of Illusion is now one of my favorites. They are incredibly talented, lively, and get many of the audience members involved. Every time I would think I knew where the magic trick was going, there would be a curveball. The tricks varied from incredibly technical to just plain impossible, basically making only one explanation possible: magic must be real. I went for my birthday and it was a great way to celebrate. As we left the theater at the end of the show, they were there to personally greet and thank everyone leaving the theater. As a birthday gift and thank you, they gave me a free signed poster and talked with me for a bit. I highly recommend and I hope to see another one of their shows in the future too!

First of all please ignore any negative comments. This show is very reasonably priced compared to other events and very entertaining. Well thought out and executed from beginning to end. Small intimate venue with old world charm. Roland and Susan were very personable, gracious, and extremely talented. I would highly recommend this event and we plan to go again.

I have been wanting to see Carnival of Illusion since I moved to Tucson in 2017 and it continuously popped up under multiple lists of unique things to do in the city. I finally bought tickets for myself and my boyfriend this past December and we were so excited to see them this past Saturday. Not only do they perform in a gorgeous building in a beautiful part of downtown, they are mesmerizing with their ability to hold a crowd's attention with their humor and their skill. It's amazing to me how "tricks" that have intrigued audiences for decades continues to do so. I found myself holding my breath during several of them and talking about them after the show. This is a duo (trio if you count their sweet pup) that transports you away from reality for an hour and a half. It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday evening!

I have been working with Roland and Susan for a few months now and they have been big supporters of Arizonans for Children. They've donated tickets to our Mentor Program so that our volunteers can take foster children in the community to enjoy this wonderful show! They have helped our mentors bond with their mentees and enjoy a very special evening together. This is truly a unique opportunity that not a lot of children in care get to experience. I was finally able to attend myself and had a fabulous time. The show was funny, amazing, inspiring... just incredible! These two are very special people and they will ensure you have a fantastic evening!

Cute show but not what I expected. This is no Vegas or big venue show, this is a mom an pop show with no frills or thrills. The audio quality was poor and it was difficult to hear the performers several time during the show. We had to fill in the blanks to understand what is going on. I would compare this show to a kids magic show. Besides that the performers are attentive and even greet you at the end of the show. This was my first time seeing them and again they did announce this was their first show in a long time. I hope they make improvement in their production and showmanship in the future. I did not take any pictures inside or video do to their rules.

Coming from someone who doesn't really care for magic shows, this is a really cool magic show. The audience sits directly on the stage, and interact quite a bit with the performers. The performers schtick is well done and fits well with the motif they are going for. Check it out!

I am not sure what fantastic illusions people are referring to in these reviews. While enjoying the intimate atmosphere and the entertainment factor because our hosts were great people, I feel this show is antiquated and a lot of the illusions were both predictable and obvious. For the price of the ticket, I expected more.

I enjoyed the show and found it entertaining. Overall the show was fun. Some of the tricks were obvious while I have no idea how they did the others. I deducted 1 star for the audio issues mentioned in other reviews. It feels a bit like amateur hour when the audio isn't working correctly. Susan's mic worked maybe half the time or wasn't turned up enough. This was distracting to the point that it made it somewhat less enjoyable. I would still recommend the show. I would not go again because I felt like I saw all the tricks they had.

Edit: Staff spoke with me about my feedback and are aware of the concerns mentioned and it sounds as though improvements will be made to the performance to restore it to the glory of it's previous reviews Not worth the money, these tricks were very small scale and all very simple, the show itself lacked magic, it was sadly boring and lack luster, while seating is not much raised so high chance your view may be obstructed and the seats themselves are bar stools, our night consisted of waiting for the show to get better and wow but it never happened πŸ˜• seating was very disorganized, one lady was reseated 3 times and the show started late

This is by far the worst magic performance my wife and I have ever encountered. Because of the price we believed it was going to be something to behold but we’re more than disappointed. First they brag about selling out. Of course they sell out when there are only 70-100 seats max. It is truly a mid to high school performance. Very amateurish! I don’t understand the high reviews on here. There were people that left during the performance. I think the best thing this show does is take people’s money.

When I went last month, the show featured a guest performer, John Shryock. Instead of a big stage show with big illusions, this was a more formal closeup experience for a small group. Generally I’m a pretty tough critic when it comes to magic, but John does a great job engaging his audience, who in turn brought a lot of great energy to the evening. I’m delighted to see a formal closeup show like this; you almost never get to see them anywhere. This was very much a breath of fresh air - and there was just as much invested here as any large-scale production.

It was alright. They haven’t changed up their routine in 10 years - it’s the same lame tricks as the last time we went, yet somehow it still seemed unrehearsed. Not worth the $45 dollars. The man kept shouting out β€œno videos please” during the performance when no one was taking a video. The best part was when they brought their dog out on stage to be honest. They need to revamp their routine.
