Best thing about this place was the valet! They were quick, friendly and able to recommend some very nice spots around the area. Inside your greeted with smug faces from front desk. We found the room to be clean. The issues we had was the toilet and AC. Toilet kept running all day and night. The restroom has a sliding glass door which you can hear the toilet running from, it was super hard to sleep! On top of that the room was extremely hot we had the thermostat set on 68 and room temperature was 74. This was a business trip so with all the money we spent we did expect more from this place, especially from the staff, being that over 200 of our employees paid to stay here and use their business center for a whole week. After an evening of conferences we wanted a nice drink at the bar I would say 11pm the bar had two bartenders or one and a friend behind the bar with about 4 people sitting at the bar, bartender made eye contact with me and proceeded to talk to friend we were standing there for about 8 minutes for some kinda reaction specifically some drinks no hi, or be with you in a moment. Did not let that ruin my first night in Arizona! But was noted not to go there for drinks. Great walking distance spots from the hotel! The pool is rooftop but not at all a nice roof. The pool is really small and uncomfortable with groups and children, it does make the pool feel a lot smaller. They need to look into expanding and maybe a kitty pool so the adults are able to relax on their stay! After getting home from my week long stay I noticed I had left my necklace in the room we stayed in. I was not worried at all and prepared to give them my address and card info to get shipped to me. When I called they said nothing was turned in and did not try to get more information from, I felt he did not want to hear anything more that was his answer and nothing else! I let him know exactly where it was left and filed a report. I hear back a few days later with a shoulder shrug reply that I was at fault for leaving my necklace in a unit that my company had paid for! That’s a reply from a restaurant or park that has people coming and going from, not a hotel room that is private to the guest in it and is to be trusted with your valuables in. The lack of consideration this whole establishment carry’s is wretched. The staff can’t be trusted with items or hospitality. I do recommend to never take your jewelry off or unpack at all. They really need to look into new management so staff is better managed and able to hire trusted people. This is one our company will not be going back to!

Gorgeous hotel. We went for my company convention. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfy. Nice dining options. Starbucks downstairs. Very centrally located to tons of restaurants and fry grocery store nearby! We loved this hotel.

Pulled into the teeny tiny valet parking (the only parking they have) and no bellhop came (which apparently they don't have at this "4 star" hotel?). Went inside to grab a luggage rack myself and when I came out some worker was driving off with my car. I had to run over and bang on the window to get him out of my vehicle which he did not have permission to be in. He claimed he was moving my car up, which didn't make sense because there was plenty of room for someone to park in front of me and get checked in without even needing to parallel park. Went to the front desk and both the connecting rooms I had specifically reserved were "under renovations". The only option was another suite with a single king, which wasn't an option for my party, and a downgrade to standard queens. Neither of the options were handicap accessible and I had a disabled person in my party. The rooms have no trash can liners in any room (including the bathroom) so used tea bags and any other number of food and unsanitary items come in direct contact which I'm absolutely sure they don't scrub out between guests. There are almost no outlets available for use except the 2 on the TV console desk, so you'll have to unplug the bed if you need more. There were none close to the door so I had to run to a store and buy an overpriced extension cord to run across the room to plug in the wheelchair for the disabled person in my party (the only place we could fit it in these non-accessible rooms). The "artwork" is laughably placed inside picture frames that were not made for it, so it leaves a giant gap at the bottom and looks extremely tacky. At least center it in the frame to make it look like it was intentional... Breakfast option was a sausage egg and cheese sandwich that was hard as a rock top and bottom and featured a microwaved frozen sausage patty. My car claim check does not scan to retrieve my vehicle, in fact after trying 4 times, it told me it was summoning my Grey Jeep and asked if I wanted to check out and showed me the wrong claim number. I don't own a Jeep. Seems like someone else could do the same thing and just steal my vehicle very easily... Update: At checkout, some genius had replaced the reservation primary guest with a child's name from our party and wiped out the main guests rewards number, causing a bunch of charges for their dog slow WiFi usage to be added to the room. They also had nobody on staff working that could take cash, so we were forced yet again to stand around until they could find someone who could fix their mistakes and take a cash payment. Absolute nightmare staying here, and in response to the response below, no, I will not be giving your brand a second chance. Too many mistakes were made to be forgiven at this point.

Absolutely wonderful experience at this beautiful hotel! They take incredible care of you and make you feel so welcome. Conveniently located next to the Convention Center and lots of great restaurants. Safe, very clean, well appointed and lots of beautiful artwork, we will stay again. Thank you so much to Suzi, Dom, Rhonda, Yuki and Tonya, you all made our stay so memorable!

It's a really great hotel, centrally located, really nice, well decorated rooms and friendly staff. They have great on-site amenities, like the dust cutter bar and a gift shop, which are very convenient. Unfortunately, one area I found my experience to be lacking in was room hygiene. While it was mostly spotless and well-prepared, one of the two complementary water bottles was sitting on the table open with the cap missing. Presumably someone had been drinking out of it, and it was just left there like that. Also, the previous guest's food was left in the refrigerator, which is really unsanitary. Hopefully these issues were one-offs, because I've only ever heard good things about the Renaissance.

I'll start by saying that the valet who checked me in was amazing and the one who took me later to my car to gather and carry my luggage when there was no luggage carry to be found was so very kind! The hotel was kind of odd... Almost like multiple designers decorated without talking to each other. And please stop burning scents! As someone with severe allergies, I had to cover my mouth and nose and quickly walk through the lobby because of whatever you were burning. And having it in there counter at check in and out is disrespectful and unhealthy. The room, although mismatched in decoration, was comfortable... The pillows were great!

I was there for a walk through of their conference and event facilities and the size of the spaces is amazing, and overall the hotel is lovely. The rooms we did check out were spacious and quite comfortable though the swapping of bathtubs for showers is a little disappointing. But despite that it was not enough to hamper my opinion of this gorgeous hotel. If you're there on a Friday or Saturday make sure to check out the speakeasy out back in the alley. The atmosphere is to die for.

The lobby was beautiful but the rooms are a different story. The ceilings are super low, window frame very low, along with a very low toilet. Rooms look outdated and definitely needed some updates. When we checked in our room type (2 queen beds with high floor view) was not available yet so they put us in a basic 2 queen bed room. When we checked out they charged us the rate of the high floor with a view even though that is not what we got. When I asked the front desk about it they said that's the way it is since we didn't wait for our room to be ready. So we paid the high price of a high floor view room even though we stayed in the basic queen room. A little annoyed since that doesn't begin to make sense, but what can you do. I would suggest staying elsewhere...

Location in close proximity to the downtown Phoenix Convention Center is great. It is also very close to the downtown theaters and stadiums (baseball and basketball). It is also close to the Arizona State University campus. The decor in the lobby is nice and it's very spacious. The front desk staff was great and very accommodating even when I was checking out with an American Airline flight crew checking in right before check out time. Beds are comfortable and the gym even has a rowing machine.

Located in the heart of downtown Phoenix with restaurants and bars all around you, this hotel was fantastic. The staff was amazing, the room was clean and spacious, and again the location was perfect. I had a great time here and would absolutely come back. I also got to check out the lounge on the top floor and the woman working it was just a pleasure to talk to while making sure everyone was taken care of. 10/10!

The gym here is awesome! One of the best hotel gyms I've seen in a while, dumbbells to 50lbs, sand bags, machines, and the standard cardio equipment plus spin bikes. Walking distance to many bars and restaurants as well as the baseball stadium, arena, and convention center. Very nice hotel overall.

Wanted to find a nice Thanksgiving brunch buffet and selected this location. Even though it was their first one, it was very good. Most food selections were great, while a few lacked the finesse expected. Overall, very good. Love the manager who is very approachable and the head chef is as well...

This place has the potential to be great. A very nice lobby, restaurant and cafe at the entrance. Room would have been good but , with no water makes it unsanitary. The customer service is below standards. Spoke to 5 people, only 1 had good customer service skills. Checked in and went to room, no water from the bathroom, called the front desk and the person said the water would be out , they knew it would be out and did not advise me at check in.

I booked a stay at this hotel, they advertised 7-day free cancellation policy. When I needed to cancel, I made sure to call 8 days prior to my arrival date. The staff confirmed that my reservation was cancelled and that everything was taken care of. However, to my surprise, I later noticed a charge from the hotel on my credit card. After reaching out again, they assured me they would get back to me within 3-5 days, but unfortunately, I haven't heard back since. This experience has made me cautious. I advise others to be vigilant.

Beautiful hotel with well appointed rooms. The decor was absolutely stunning. Nice big rooms with big bathrooms. Bed was lush and very comfortable. Fantastic bar with gastropub fare. We had the pulled pork sliders and the nachos and both were excellent. We will book here again.

This hotel is in a great location in central Phoenix, and it has a lovely lobby, an excellent bar/restaurant where they are making new cocktails to enjoy. Starbucks is also in the lobby. The main reasons it is not 5-stars are the size of the rooms, which are a bit small (though well-furnished) and the valet which was understaffed for the number of cars using it. Overall, I would recommend this as a great choice if you visit Phoenix.

Absolutely wonderful service by the entire staff. Kendall is an amazing mixologist. Highly suggest asking him to surprise you with something. He’s very talented and i promise you won’t be disappointed. Him and Chris, the manager, were really great and also had wonderful recommendations for local ice cream spots! Aaron was also behind the bar and was super sweet! He recommended the chicken sandwich for dinner and it did not disappoint!! It’s massive and delicious. Will be ordering it again next time I’m in town!

We were there for the Gatsby House in the Ballroom for New Years Eve. We had an “effen” blast with the 1920’s Speakeasy theme. The hotel was on point for the affair. We walked in from the cold and there was a complimentary Hot Cocoa station just a few feet past the main entrance. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Four of our friends stayed the night. One of the couples in our group became newly engaged and the hotel was very accommodating to the Groom to be with wanting to decorate the room with roses, champagne and strawberries… The room was spacious and clean. I have stayed at the ATL location and wondered what the PHX location was like. I must say I was definitely impressed.

Have a really bad experience for a Marriott group hotel. The phone doesn’t work so I have to asked receptionist to call laundry pick up. She said yes and nobody picked up my laundry. When I complained the receptionist in charge during the night doesn’t even say sorry. I come from a country where service is the best so having this kind of experience in a such hotel is really disappointing.

I nearly missed out on this fantastic room, but a quick check on ʜᴏᴛᴇʟᴅᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ made all the difference. Team meting and activities related with the same got me to Marriott Renaissance in Phoenix, Arizona, and the experience was nothing short of spectacular. The check-in process was seamless and efficient, and the staff greeted me with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. They were exceptionally accommodating, providing information about the hotel's amenities and local attractions, making me feel truly welcome. The room I stayed in was a haven of relaxation. It was spacious, elegantly furnished, and exquisitely clean. The comfortable bed, complete with plush linens, ensured a restful night's sleep. The room's windows allowed me to enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Marriott Renaissance Phoenix boasts a wide range of amenities. The outdoor pool and patio area provide a serene oasis for unwinding under the Arizona sun. The fitness center was well-equipped and offered a great way to stay active during my stay (used it every single day of my stay). The on-site restaurant served delicious meals, with a blend of local and international flavors and i did end up ordering a couple of times , a post workout meal and the food was delicious. The hotel's location is perfect for exploring Phoenix and the surrounding attractions. It's conveniently situated near downtown, making it easy to access cultural sites, restaurants, and shops. I was told that its proximity to hiking trails and outdoor adventures make it an ideal choice for nature enthusiasts. The hotel staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure my stay was exceptional. Whether it was accommodating special requests or providing local tips, their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident throughout my visit. They had delivered my food once and i didn't get to pick it up and upon bringing this to their notice they had a fresh order prepared for me and it came to my room in a short turnaround time. Phenomenal!!!

I went to an event here and ate at the restaurant beforehand. The hotel is beautiful and was decorated for Christmas beautifully. The food we ordered was delicious and they also have a nice variety to choose from. They have vegan options, too. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have valet parking, which can be hectic due to the small driveway area. The hotel is in a good are close to lots of stuff downtown.

Stayed at the Renaissance Hotel to visit Phoenix for a basketball game. The hotels location is so convenient. It was only a 5 minute walk to the arena. The staff was very accommodating and the restaurant/ bar downstairs was nice and stayed open late after the game. Great stay

Room was okay and location is great but wouldn't recommend it. Inconsistent room service, some days you get 3 hand towels some days you get zero. Same with bath amenities. Our room's bathroom had a slow draining sink too and we even had no running water briefly due to maintenance or whatever which we weren't notified about(?). Not a great experience overall.

My wife was in town for a health convention on behalf of our daughter and the team at this hotel was horrible to her. She did not know to book under the convention rate and was denied that opportunity at least three times during her stay. We even had convention management trying to help her and Renaissance still wouldn’t budge. Not sure how you can be in the hospitality industry and treat your customers this way. And the actual rate was almost 5x of the advertised rate. We were shocked. She left the Renaissance and went to the Sheraton, much nicer rooms and obviously better service. We won’t be recommending the Renaissance ever.

Service was good rooms were comfy and bathroom very clean. Check-in process was OK. There is a valet for 39 usd per night. Food breakfast not the best. The cast iron for the oatmeal was rusted all over see Pic below. Felt like camping but not a good sign for Marriott brand. Seriously need to get some new pots and pans. Croissants had no taste. I would say breakfast choices give it a 1.

The hotel is nice, but the service quite bad: the WiFi is not complimentary unless you are a member (they actually charged me anyways and I had to spot this in the receipt); also, the WiFi never works. Also, there were problems with their machine for payments and check-in took very long. You would not expect this from this hotel.

The shower water pressure was too low for me to use the regular shower head effectively, so I had to switch to the handheld one. The complimentary bottled water was also smaller than usual, only 296 ml instead of 500 ml, so I had to request more water frequently.

The room was nice and clean. Went to lounge several times. Love how Suzi's always smiling and greet us with warmth. Would love to give her shout out at the front desk but I forgot. There is downsides too with one front desk guy. He's not mean though, but quite unfriendly and not a good listener. He just want to do things quickly before we finished our sentence, and that's pity.

We are Platinum members, so sometimes we get an upgrade to our room. We came here just before Thanksgiving, and the hotel was almost empty. So this time we got an upgraded suite. Very roomy and nicely appointed. The rooms are fine. And the service is outstanding.

Two business colleagues and I stayed two nights at this hotel. Beautiful hotel- clean rooms and very nice lobby. We were on a business trip and the hotel had already been paid prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, the credit cards we left at the front desk for incidentals were immediately charged for the entirety of our stay. Yes, charged a second time for the two night stay (over $500) x 3. The front desk staff assured us that they had made a mistake and that our credit cards would all be credited. I've left two messages at the hotel since arriving home yesterday with no return call(s). The second charge is still pending on my cc account. At least a follow-up call to let me know they are working on the problem would have been appreciated. Be very careful in how you are charged.

Lovely Hotel conveniently located in downtown Phoenix. The hotel is beautifully decorated with exciting and eye grabbing art installations throughout the lobby. The hospitality expressed throughout is that for a family visit or work geared travel. Upon entering the lobby and before the check, you find a casually appealing open work station. The dining room / bar is upscale western themed. All employees are outstanding! I felt completely accommodated during our stay. The large rooftop terrace has a small pool, tables and chairs for a relaxing sit. In the lower level of the hotel, a map highlighting “26 Blocks” which is an art installation featuring essays & photographs. Take a walk to look at these highlighted features that also include brightly painted murals.

Established hotel with a posh lobby, rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The food at Dust Cutter was decent but I wanted more variety. I really enjoyed the Salmon. Everyone was very friendly especially Andrew and Gino at Dust Cutter. Stayed 5 days and not once was my room cleaned, the bathroom wallpaper was damaged a bit and the ceiling in the sleeping area either had a hole or there was mold, no in room microwave but there is one by the elevator for everyone on the floor to use. It wasn't concerning enough for me to ask for a new room but I do expect posh rooms for the price.

We have stayed here before and love it. You now have to call to restock amenities and our coffee was not stocked initially. We didnt love that. Cool art and fun decor. Pool Terrance is nice. Location is excellent. Walk to stadiums and bars. Excellent bar in hotel.

Tom is the greatest. He works at the shop on the first floor and got us exactly what we needed. He’s a great guy and loves to help others. The hotel room is old and perfect! I love this place. We had a lot of fun and will be back anytime we need a downtown Phoenix staycation again. Thanks to all of the nice people that work there for their smiles and genuine desire to help. The cocktails in the amazing lobby bar were so good!! I’d say one of the best I’ve ever had. The chairs were perfect for lounging, service was great and it was the perfect spot to spend after the weekend and reminiscing on the sad Suns loss

The hotel is gorgeous and the lobby and rooms are very inviting and pleasant to stay in. 95% of the staff are very friendly and hospitable. However, right after we checked in, we made a wrong turn towards the staff elevator and one of the managers was extremely rude to us about it. It put a bit of a damper on everything else right from the get go. Otherwise, an excellent stay.

Really nice and well decorated inside, and staff was great, especially at the restaurant. Good for business travel with a nice desk in the room and everything needed for work. Couple downsides: Pool is entirely blocked from sunlight most/all of the day due to location behind the building ; They said housekeeping would only come once every 3 days, and you couldn’t even request them come clean earlier - I’ve seen a lot of COVID cleaning policies but this one is pretty bad

The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We had dinner in the restaurant and was taken care of by Keri. She was helpful with the menu and her suggestions were perfect. Not only that she was one of the friendliest servers I’ve had recently and I travel a few days a week. Great experience.

Staff was great, the hotel itself was fantastic and overall we had zero complaints. We were only there for one night but the front desk was very accommodating. They even allowed us to have a late checkout to make up for the lack of sleep we got due to delayed flights and traveling. Very much appreciated.

Beautiful hotel with friendly service and convenient location one block from the Phoenix Convention Center. Clean rooms, nice and comfortable bedding. I think the wardrobe in the bathroom a bit weird. But, I really liked the shower design. Very thoughtfully they put water switch on the opposite side of the shower had. So one can regulate water temperature without jumping from too hot or too cold stream.

Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff blatantly ignores requests for items brought up to the room,(blankets, towels, broken items that need repair) the pool is mediocre at best, there's no complimentary ANYTHING you have to pay outrageous prices for services that you could have better at a super 8 motel. And the elevators feel like death traps. They constantly rattle and shake and you feel like it's just going to drop. The only thing they have going for them, the lobby is pretty.

Worst customer service. Was told by the front desk that they will not honor my rate even though I had ID to show I have govt status. They said they have their own set of rules and do not go by Marriott policy. What does that even mean?!?! Why stay at a Marriott property if you are not going to be consistent in your messaging and policies. I have been a loyal member to Marriott for over 20 years. I am a Titanium Platinum member for life and was treated extremely rude and basically was dismissed. I am thinking it may be a time to try something new.. obviously Marriott does not care about keeping their customers happy. Extremely disappointing!!!

This hotel has all the ascetics of a upscale hotel. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are pretty spacious, and there is more than 15 floors of hotel rooms. I checked in after 12pm and the front desk staff was so kind and helpful. The hotel is walking distance from some delicious restaurants/ bars and the Phoenix convention center. The hotel provides Aveda hygiene products in shower and my room has a refrigerator. 4 stars because there was no microwave in my room.

Pros: Great location. Walking distance to everything we wanted to do downtown, especially with the Winter Wanderland day going on. The lobby is gorgeous. Our room was a great price and was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff are helpful and kind. Cons: The valet guy on duty Friday night might need a little encouragement to be more prompt and responsive, but the front desk staff remedied the slowness for us and we really appreciated him! :) The amenities aren’t great, especially for the usual price of the hotel. The pool was very tiny and unscenic. There was no jacuzzi tub in the bathrooms or any bonuses besides the good location to justify the normal $200+/night price some people pay. Luckily we got a deal online, so for the price we paid it was worth it, but just warning to others.

This is a beautiful hotel! We attended a wedding reception held there and we stayed overnight. The staff was so helpful and friendly. My sister is handcapped and uses a wheelchair and a walker. Everyone from the valet service to the front desk were so considerate and helpful. They certainly did a wonderful job with the reception and provided great service and food. A first class event! Our room was very comfortable and spacious. The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. It was reasonably priced and delicious. The best thing that happened was when we were ready to leave and called Valet to get our car. We waited outside and the young man came back and told us we had a flat tire. He offered to change it! His name is Trey and within 30 minutes he had us on our way. That was really remarkable and unexpected. Thank you so much Trey!!!

Had a layover stay here at the Renaissance and I was amazingly impressed with the room layout and cleanliness. I would rate the king size bed I had a 10 out of 10 for the comfort and sleep I was able to get lol. Employees at front desk during check in were friendly, professional and welcoming. Would stay here in the future.

The daytime bartender, asking with the waitress are really slow. With only about 10 people around the bar and tables, I finished my meal before the drink came out. Ordered another one and slicing limes seemed more important. Other than that, the hotel and staff are excellent.
