Room was dirty. Sticky floors, not vaccuumed, table ans chair cushions not clean, coffee maker had last guest's pod still in it, not a full compliment of towels, used bath mat thrown over shower curtain rod, phone was filthy. Hallway had cigarette butts on floor, pizza boxes, 12-pack boxes and other trash piled up on bench next to vending area. Programmed our room keys for one night instead of two so we had trouble getting back into the building and then told us not to put the key cards next to credit cards in our wallet because that will deplorable them (I didn't bother to tutor the poor lady on RFID 26 bit prox card technology and ask her how my wife's card failed when it was in her pocket, not her wallet...what a dolt). Sketchy neighborhood with vagrants hanging around parking lot, both entrances, and entire area. Some would tailgate in the secure door behind guests. Seems like this place rents by the week or month. They take a $75 deposit on your credit card for incidentals but BEWARE! My credit card has a pending $75 charge AND a posted $75 charge and I'll probably have to get my credit card company involved to get the charge removed. I left my room in good condition with no damage or missing items and have a checkout receipt showing balance due of $0. Speaking from experience, Red Roof Inn is horrible when it comes to refunding monies to the customer when the customer is right. Believe all the one star reviews and stay somewhere else.

We booked this hotel mainly for the pool so our kids could swim. When we checked in all seemed fine. We took a quick nap and changed into swim suites and lathered with sunscreen. When we got down to the pool a sign saying “pool closed” was on the gate it was locked. I went and talk to the manager who was very nice. She gets the star ⭐️ she was helpful but no one ever told us the pool was closed that’s why we booked the room in the first place! When we got to our room it was “clean” in a sense that the beds were made but it was disgusting 🤮 the floors had not been swept or mopped. My daughter went to use the bathroom and there was a love cockroach 🪳 running around I had to smash. It was disgusting I definitely do not recommend and for the price?! No way!

Room was clean and nice, the lady at the front desk was extremely helpful to me and my 2 kids over our 2 night stay. The area the hotel is in is horrible, so many homeless people everywhere, but I felt safe enough in the hotel. All in all, very nice hotel for the many, had no issues with staff. Would probably stay again.

This place is a DUMP. It's in need of some serious upgrades. They placed a laundry cart in the hallway for people to put their trash in so basically its a dumpster in the hallway. The room was decent enough but we didn't feel comfortable taking our socks off to walk around. It was quiet but we won't stay here again.

To give this hotel a 1 is very generous. The front desk wasn't helpful at all and looked and acted so rudely. I was told that there is no daily service to the rooms. If I needed towels or sheets I would have to carry them myself downstairs and pick up the new ones. Never in my life have I ever had to do that. The restroom was not clean there was blonde hair on the towels, mine is black. The toilet seat was loose, the handle was hanging on for dear life, and the lid was cracked. Outside of the hotel around the parking lot there were stacks and stacks of dirty old mattresses. Finally to top it off, no where does it state that there is a tent city right next door. We had to go into the hotel quickly because the homeless were just roaming around. The pictures on this site were obviously taken when the hotel was barely made.

Unfortunately the hotel is not in a great area. The location is obviously not their fault. But their rooms and sticky floors, are definitely the hotels fault. The bedding was dingy, the shower was dirty. The only clean parts were the toilet and sink, which I do appreciate. Overall the hotel is not clean, and definitely not the safest.

Great price if you don’t mind stained bedding and crusty bathrooms! The smell of BO was horrific and the used TP roll in the window! I am not one to complain but this was unacceptable. Tried calling front desk a number of times no answer, tried going into the office but it was packed with unmasked people. Called and requested refund and they refused! Won’t return!

This is the only hotel chain in existence in America that charges extra for everything. With most chains, a "Superior Suite" would usually mean a bigger TV, a more upscale room. Not with these people. When staying at a Holiday Inn, Comfort/Quality Inn, Marriott chain hotel, an ironing board and iron, hair dryer, microwave and refrigerator are all part of the guest experience. At Red Roof Inn hotels, you pay extra and will get the ironing board, iron and hair dryer but no microwave or refrigerator or vice versa. The staff is quite incompetent, both at the front desk and the call center. On more than one occasion, when doing a multi day extension, our reservation is booked and confirmed and yet on the first day of the extension, I'm treated like trash or a criminal and told my reservation was cancelled. I did not cancel it, yet I am blamed for it and then have a security guard rudely escort me to my room to get my belongings. The call center never had a supervisor or manager on duty and the higher ups never call when they say they will. If it were not for the convenience to my work location, price and the fact I'm having extensive home upgrades being performed, I'd tell these people to kiss it. Once I'm no longer in need of their service, litigation will be forthcoming.

Nice staff, room are nice. Got the upgrade. Had a snack box. Microwave, little fridge. Very cold air conditioner. Very comfortable. I do recommend this hotel it is at a decent location. McDonald's and family dollar, burger King all right there. Ice machine on 1st floor didn't work but elevator 1 floor up worked great.

It didn't seem like the towels were new and clean and there's small stains on the blankets and splashes from the toilet on the wall. Hair on pillow cases and in the shower Doesn't seem like they do any thorough cleaning. If I had to stay again I'd bring a sleeping bag. It was extremely loud all night on our floor and people stomping above and partying all night around us. Paper thin walls. They definitely need improvements.

Isabel is amazing. I’ve been staying here for a week and the manager is always available for her staff and guests. That is a plus for any hotel to have a manager that really cares about her staff and guests. 5 stars for you Isabel.

Hotel has plenty of free entertainment with all the tweakers out the window, not the hotels fault though. Service was phenomenal thanks to Hailey at the front desk. Got a free night after two consecutive stays. Can't complain.

I love the location because it is close to the free way; there's a McD nearby/ walking distance for a quick bite, where I used to grab tea and oatmeal. Otherwise, I traveled out of the area. The room wasn't that great compared to where I usually stay, but I cut costs staying here in order to get a rental and travel to the Grand Canyon and Hover Dam and other activities. Staff want all the way friendly but somewhat cordial.

I've stayed here about 4 times and I've never had a bad experience. It's what you can expect. The rooms are clean. I usually book a room with a fridge and microwave since I usually stay 4 days or more. One time the elevator was down for the day which was unfortunate. The surrounding area is a little suspicious with alot of homeless people milling about in the periphery but not directly infront of the hotel. The walls are a little thin so you can often here what's going on in the next room, and every time I've stayed I've dealt with "hearing" the couple in the next room. They don't come in to clean daily, which I do not mind, but it would be nice if there were some extra bags in the trash cans or if they provided extra towels in the room if they know you are staying multiple days. For the price, it's a perfectly acceptable place to stay.

Stayed here in November, room was decent, location decent. What stood out to us was the lady at the front desk, I believe her name is Isabel. She might be the manager. Very accommodating, greeted with a smile, and made our stay pleasant. It’s easy to remember staff that gives you a bad experience, you want to go complain right away. Rare when you feel compelled enough to write a good review on a staff member but Isabel did that for us!

Do not try and book for someone if your not within the state. My step daughter is homeless with 3 kids in her vehicle. When I called and made the reservation I said no I’m not in state with her how can I pay for a room for her for the week. The lady stated that’s fine I will email you the 3rd party form. Well she never did she sent me the confirmation. Then my daughter gets to the hotel just for the lady stating we do not have third party waivers for individuals cancel the reservation in front of my daughter said sorry nothing she can do. This is beyond ridiculous not to add she’s like they don’t have a fax number yet provided me a print out a copy of the reservation and what’s on top a fax number. This lady wouldn’t even make an attempt to help her. So if you have a child that’s away from home with kids you mean you can’t help them. I had a long history with RedRoof and I’ve paid for homeless people to stay a night or 2 before so this here just absolutely baffles me. I believe this was very racially profiled against my daughter.

My husband and I travel to Arizona frequently, the property is clean, staff is friendly and the location is great for attending games at the cardinal stadium. Staff was amazing and we will stay again when in town! Antoinette was amazing during check in, knowledgeable about the area and good places to eat!

We stayed there last week and it was great. No problems, room was ready and clean before check-in. The room had a few outlets that didn't work, but other than that, it was a great stay.

Came to this red roof just as a little getaway from my regular day to day, was actually very impressed overall. Great service from all the staff, everyone was friendly and didn’t seem bothered like other hotels and staff. Room was comfortable as well, I recommend this Red roof and the prices are very affordable.

I normally fly in from TX once a quarter. This time, I picked this location. The crew was very friendly, and Kalena at the front desk made us feel welcome. My room was very clean. You can tell the cleaning crew paid attention to details. I will have to stay here again on my next trip

Besides seeing a roach on the dresser. I still give it a 4 for the rooms. Otherwise the rooms where clean. However the air conditioner kept going out on us. So we had to tranfer rooms about 4xs. I still give it 4 stars because they tried to make us happy in any way possible.

Literally got robbed of my money. Booked 3rd party.they tried to get a refund since they wouldn't accept any of my cards at first they said yes and then they said no. There goes 75 dollars without even being able to stay there. I think this is robbery and nobody should.have their money just taken from them. I even presented my business credit card and still wasn't accepted. It's not like I looked like any of the transient problem persons that lurk around that neighborhood. I get strict policies are in place but I didn't choose this hotel. I chose the express surprise me deal and it's where I landed. So no you keep my money for no reason. You get a bad review. Will never stay here in my life ever. They suck.

The property and room were clean. The bed was very comfortable. We had a bit of a run-in with a very angry young man, who was most likely reaching for his gun in the parking lot. Thankfully, nothing came of it.

Booked 3 nights through Expedia. Maybe 5m after checking in I had an emergency I needed to attend to and had to check out. Asked Expedia about a refund since I already checked in and couldn't cancel. They had to call the property to ask about it. I would have been fine with paying for that first night but I guess they'd rather keep my money for the whole booking. Thanks for nothing Red Roof Inn. Not sure what the PLUS+ means.

Upon arrival, it looked better than just a couple months ago. It was not hard to figure out there is now someone who cares about the property. Come to find out, Isabel is very caring and is always available to her customers and the whole staff. Big shout out to the GM of this place. Rooms look and smell clean and the customer service 👌 is better. Highly recommend!!!

Very clean rooms, very quiet and no disturbances from other guests. Location is in a nice spot with food city and dollar tree right across the street and also location was very quiet- nobody was screaming or shouting outside. People at reception were very nice, always helping with everything that was asked for such as shampoos, soaps, towels etc. very clean inside and also always had fresh coffee each morning.

  • 5/5 Shaunte K. 4 months ago on Google
The manager Isabele was very helpful and kind. She made sure I always had shampoo conditioner soaps and clean towels. The rooms were very nice and clean. The halls were clean and smelled good. There was fresh coffee every morning downstairs for guests. The staff was always friendly and looked professional. I felt safe the whole time because they were constantly walking the grounds. They had beautiful Christmas decorations all over, very festive. We didn't have any problems what's so ever at our stay here. The manager Isabele ensured that. Me and my family will definitely be return guests. Thank you, Isabele and staff for a wonderful stay. They also allow pets, so feel free to bring your fur babies as they are welcome and will also enjoy their stay. :)

Stayed here with my family December 15 to the 17. We had the honor to meet the manager. She was working the front desk, which was a plus already. She was super friendly and made sure that our needs were met. Isabel, your rock. Thank you for your kindness. We will be back in February for spring training.

I want to say my stay here was fantastic after a whole day of driving it was great to have a clean place to stay. The staff was over the top and very helpful. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed definitely worth the stay at the rate I got it for. I would definitely stay here again. The location wasn’t the greatest but I felt safe staying here with my family.

Beyond run down. Everything in our room was disgusting, dirt everywhere, our fridge did not get cold, they used electrical tape on own remote which still did not work. Asked for a new one they said they didn’t have any. The halls reak of an awful smell. The elevator inspection is expired. One of the workers told us we shouldn’t take the stairs, they had a leak and the stairs are all wet and we could fall. We asked for a different room since ours was so disgusting, they couldn’t accommodate. Our outlets were uncovered, floor and furniture were just dirty and stains. Also tried to say if we check in 5 mins early we would be charged $30.30! They also tried to say since the other person that was staying wasn’t with me to get his ID he wouldn’t be allowed to stay… I asked for a refund at the front desk and they stated they couldn’t do anything about it. The area is next to a new homeless shelter is what we were told, but no one bothered us outside. There is a HUGE crater in the road as you leave as well that you have to drive around.

A good economy level hotel that has changed for the better since last year. The staff are very well versed on the area, and made great strides in cleaning up the area, without any help from the City. Rooms are clean and the housekeepers seem to love working there, which is a novelty for places nowadays. On the whole, it is a hidden gem in a misunderstood neighborhood

I have a couple big issues with this place. 1. Security guard (the older woman) is nasty. She yelled at a homeless man who just asked me for a cigarette and chased him off the property when he was just avoiding walking on the grass. There are tons of people living in temporary shelters around the hotel, which is not my issue. My issue is how they treat these people. 2. We checked in late at night after a 3 day drive and the night guy talked at us for 30 minutes and didn’t give me a key or look at my ID. When I got locked out later that week, the day manager gave me a condescending speech about proper check ins when it was not my fault. However, cleaning staff was great and polite. No issues with other guests, though it should be noted that the no smoking rule isn’t enforced at all so it smells like weed. Carpet smelled like dog urine as well.

Cons: The hotel workers can't control this, but this area is shady af. Rooms are gross. There are stains and just dirt in general on floors and walls. Pros: AC in room and mini fridge were nice and cold. Mattresses are in some kind of wrap, so hopefully no bed bugs.

This location isn’t in the best area. Didn’t have any issues, but definitely don’t want to be out at night. As for the hotel, it’s not very clean, cleaner than most at this price, however it is in need of an upgrade. The floor was not clean, on my arrival date, neither was the microwave, on top inside. No breakfast, ice machine on first and second floor not working, not laundry room, and refreshments at five star prices, plenty of eating places near by, if you like fast food. Was here on business, otherwise I wouldn’t have spent five nights here, due to the lack of amenities. Staff was friendly, except one morning clerk. I sent in a comment on him, I felt he treated me as if I was no different from the people in the area. I understand how difficult it could get when working in those areas, but you have to remember that a customer is a customer and should always be treated as such.

We've stayed here before with an excellent experience so we decided to stay here once again. We had a superior king room. Room was clean and spacious, although floors were a bit sticky. Bed was firm but comfortable. There was blackout curtains for a better sleep. Wi-Fi was super fast. Room had all the amenities needed for a much better price than others. We were worried about the recent reviews about the area and the homeless surrounding it but we had no issues whatsoever and we felt safe. Area was safe and quiet with a variety of food options nearby. Overall a great stay for the price and will continue to stay here when needed.

I have stayed at many Red Roof inns and have never had a worse experience. Granted, the location has a large homeless problem but my issue was the extremely rude morning desk person. GABRIELLE began my day at 730 am when I went to the lobby for coffee. They didn't make any yet, She told me she was busy but would get to it. At the time, she was watching videos on her cell phone I came back at 840 and no coffee. I asked if I could get a few packets off of the maids cart . She told me I'm not allowed. I asked if SHE could give me some. She had me stand there for 5 minutes while she moved papers to 4 clipboards for the maids, and only then she reached under her counter for coffee. At 10am, we found that we needed to extend our stay another night and she told us we must vacate our room and check back in at 3pm. Clearly this is one of the worst type of customer facing people that you or anyone should have to deal with. Don't expect to find a smiling face, consistent service or a relaxing stay. The area and the customer service fail to the standards of most people who simply want a good night's rest. The homeless camp back by the pool, and the hookers and zombies in the area make this location a pass.

I had a great comfortable stay..front desk was very pleasant and the room seriously exceeded my expectations..the room was so clean, the bed was very comfortable, and overall had the best night sleep. I will definately book there from now on...Thank you Red Roof Plus for a great stay.

I was worried because of the reviews that mentioned a lot of homeless but the area is clear of them now. Fridge door wouldn't stay closed, Eddie (maintenance 👍) replaced with out of box new. Being an older hotel I knew they wouldn't have USB ports for charging and I forgot wall charger but when I used the microwave I was totally surprised to see 2 ports on the front! Charges great. Bed is ok but they need new pillows, they're all flat rocks.

The front desk clerk Alexis was AMAZING!!! It feels like alot of places have forgotten what customer service is but Alexis still remembers. We were stranded due to the southwest fiasco and needed a room. Alexis was very accommodating and very understanding. She helped a stressed and overwhelmed family and was willing to do whatever she could to help us out. If you're ever in Phoenix I recommend this place and all for Alexis.

Excellent staff all the way around first second and third shift everybody seems to know what they're doing and they do it efficiently and friendly and well. The housekeeping girls during the day I'm telling you they kick tail they keep those rooms looking nice fresh shout out to Lacey and Lil Mama you don't seem like you are always working around the clock. We appreciate your polished professionalism keep up the good work A++++++

Staff was respectful and egar to help. Their policy change and they no longer accept any prepaid cards for deposits so make sure to have a major bank card. This is my third day and I feel like my money was well spent. The hotel is clean and the coffee in the lobby is surprisingly good. (For hotel coffee.) Housekeeping did a great job cleaning my room.

This place is at best adequate. Our room didn't even have a remote for the TV. They had to scrounge one up. No coffee in the mornings for guests. This is a place where you sleep, shower and get on your way. If you're looking for amenities, this is not the place.

  • 1/5 Denise C. 2 years ago on Google
It was 1 scary night. There was a tent city right next to the hotel. They keep the external doors locked all the time. But there were many that got in. The room, elevator and command areas were very run down and our room smelled like body oder. If I could give them a zero I would have.
