We had a horrible experience through Expedia with this hotel. We had booked a room in early January, got confirmation, and got charged so we thought that we were good to go. When we showed up to check in the woman at the desk told us that they were no longer booking through Expedia and we would need to contact them for a refund. When we did this we had to sit on the phone for a few hours until somebody finally agreed to give us a refund. 2 days later we get an email from Expedia saying that they can't get ahold of the Hotel so they cannot give a refund. We try calling the hotel and the line is down. I recommend saving yourself a headache and loss of money and going elsewhere.

Had to pay $95.00 in cash for my room. They would not take credit or debit cards. They would not register me early(1300), not till 1500 when it was checkin time. Lost of strange people wandering around. I was cringing at the state of the garage. Upon entering my room, only the overhead hall light worked. There were three lamps in the room. Only 1 of the three had a bulb in it(which needed to be screwed in to work). 2 of the 3 had shades 1 was missing. The shower while being very clean would only give 40 degree water. A bit to cool. The tv while being very crisp, did not have a guide. Spent an hour channel surfing before I found something to watch. The courtesy coffee was all decafinated.

I stayed here for one night in December 2019. I was excited to stay here, the location is incredible, the exterior of the building looks clean and nice, and the lobby was nice & lobby staff were great. I get to my floor, and immediately I see a hole in the ground with this potted plant trying to cover it. It looked like the old ice machine maybe use to be there, regardless, was very uninviting. I get into my room and immediately notice a dark old stain on the very old carpet, gunk on the walls, furniture that was very worn and even broken. The restroom shower head also was full of calcium deposit and the shower curtains were mostly ripped barely hanging up. The light fixtures didn’t have plug ins near the beds, the list goes on.. I have stayed at a motel 6 that was comparable if not nicer.. overall was very disappointed here, and wouldn’t think of staying at this hotel again. 3 stars for polite staff and great location.

When I read the reviews of this hotel, I was hoping that it would be at least a decent place to spend two nights while training as it was the only hotel with availability the dates I needed. That should’ve been my first clue. The hotel is dirty and rundown. They do not offer any breakfast (even though it says free breakfast)with the exception of some granola bars and some yogurt sitting out at room temperature. They do not offer coffee. They have a small pot in the room but no condiments of any kind. When we got locked out of our room because the key stopped working they seemed very put out they had to make us a new card. The plug-ins weren’t working. The thermostat wasn’t working. I definitely will not stay at this hotel again. Only good The only good thing I can say is that it was quiet.

Okay We stayed here recently. We were traveling for the weekend to Phoenix and we decided to go ahead and book the hotel room. The hotel staff is friendly and it’s a good location more Central Midtown they also say it includes breakfast, and whatever but to our surprise all the sudden we were surprised that they were renovating! ALL accommodations are closed! Basically you get what you’re paying for!

They completely ripped us off! Phone is disconnected, their website is down, and they kept our money even though the front desk lady said that they've changed owners & aren't honoring any reservations. Paid for or not. Now Expedia won't refund us because they can't reach the hotel

Check-in was awful. The elevator is sketchy. Immediately we noticed stains in the rugs in the hallways. The hotel has a weird smell. The tv doesn't have a guide, you have to just flip through all the channels. Also there is hardly ANY outlets in the rooms. When my sitter took my son downstairs to eat breakfast, they told them the kitchen was closed. If you can stay some where else, I highly recommend you do. I'm not happy with this place.

The reason why I write this review is due to the fact, I approached the management of my concerns and there was no sense of concern. The gentleman behind the front desk acted like he didn’t know what he was doing. This hotel is under renovation - no amenities at all. You have to dig quite far on their website to find this information. None of the other booking websites have this information either. Renovations I could live with - the room was clean, lobby was stark but clean and the staff friendly. Didn’t see much renovating happening while I was there so noise was not an issue. However, besides not having any amenities the tv had no service for my whole stay of 4 days. Management was aware and unable to provide any satisfactory response. Luckily WiFi was in service and I could use that, but that’s beside the point. When on vacation sometimes just doing some channel surfing is needed right?! Things happen I get that but no attempt to make it right for a paying customer is not acceptable. I will not be recommending this hotel even with seeing the great potential of its location to midtown and staff after they are done with their renovations.

They have a overnight security guard in the hotel lobby and the staff are very helpful. BUT...telephone in room didn't work, no breakfast available, no handicapped parking or safe parking within site of the front door (all safe parking near front of hotel have reserved signs and are used by hotel staff), homeless approaching me at the front door, no functional iron in room, sink tap leaked and water scalding hot which is a danger for small children, toilet overflowed on first flush, no business center on-site to print (told to go to Staples across the street), no carpeted rooms and window sunshade had multiple large holes, parking lot has trash everywhere during my stay and is not safe (has no cameras), the name of the hotel says garden but hotel is under construction so the garden was unsightly and trashed in appearance, was overcharged and recommend checking your CC, during my 4 night stay housekeeping did not clean or check my room at any time.

This hotel is under renovation but the super friendly staff made up for any issues. They all seem to really enjoy their jobs. We had a great stay. There was never any noise. There is a great little Italian restaurant a short walk away. We'd love to stay again sometime.

Horrible place. I'm not expecting my own perfect mattress at a hotel, but the ones in our room were literally lumpy and laughably bad. Theres no blankets either. Just sheets. There was spilled red paint on the walls and carpet in the hallway outside our room. How long has that been there? The lobby music was hip hop, which gave a pretty unprofessional vibe. When we came back late in the evening, the lobby door was locked and the lights were off. We had to bang on the door until someone let us in. No side door for key access. In the morning we were reminded about check out time by someone coming to the door and knocking. Why not just use the courtesy phone? Very strange place.

The place is under renovation. But nothing works. Everything is dirty looking. They didn’t have enough room keys so they had to let us in our room. The bed was very hard, but at least it was clean , and pillows didn’t stink. Overall it was a place to sleep and shower. But that was it. And the staff seemed nice. It was all we could get at the time. Probably not again. 😬

Booked this place for two days through Expedia. Be careful. They will rip you off if you choose to pay at property. They overcharge me twice as much 675$ for 2 night !!!! The room was dirty and they don’t clean or bring in new towels. The management is shady and the whole place seems unsafe. Loud Motorcycles parking on the front and the loud noises late at night when they arrive. Under construction so you can’t enjoy anything other than go and sleep in your room and they wouldn’t tell you until few days before your booking starts. Stay away.

Nightmare! The hotel was CLOSED because they're doing refurbishing works (so they knew it before hand), and they just told us on the same day, couple hours before the check in, while were still on flight, by email, and as we got no internet connection cuz our phones are from another country, we just knew about it when we "arrived". And the worst part: WE had to look for another hotel room, the reception employees did NOTHING for us. Lucky we managed to find another hotel room just 1/2 mile away, but after almost 12 hrs of flight, carrying big luggages, this was not precissely a pleasent welcome

The room per se was nice. No complaints. The gentleman at the front desk had the work competency of a meerkat. Seemed beyond lost. Also gave me a room that was already occupied. The lady who worked at night was very nice and helpful. There was construction everywhere, and it also started at 8am…or earlier. Which completely ruined any chance of relaxing in the morning. Overall will probably not book there again

This place was awful. We arrived only to find out we were basically the only guests in the whole hotel. Some system was down, that meant no TV, no key cards (an employee had to unlock our rooms for us), and none of the outlets worked at all. Upon walking into the room, it has an unpleasant, moist smell. The lights in the bathroom were crooked and one was hanging off of the ceiling by basically one wire. The toilet took a few presses and holds to flush and the faucet was leaky. The actual bedroom area was no better. Scuffed up walls, a missing smoke alarm with its wires exposed, painted over fixtures (like sprinklers and outlets), and unclean floors and furniture. As mentioned, no outlets worked, the provided fridge was broken, and the AC would only work for a few minutes at a time. Not to mention the disturbing stains near the bed area including a small faded black handprint on the wall. The phone did not work and the surrounding rooms were in disarray as well, the door across from us didn’t even have a handle or lock. Our own door took a decent amount of force to close and keep shut. Many parts of our room were broken and improperly installed, including cabinets, the desk, and the large glass closet door/mirror. The area is decent enough, there are a lot of sirens at night though and I did hear some yelling.

Joe was a excellent employee by answering my call quick and promptly. He was ready to answer all my questions and even offered to help me find bars close by . Definitely recommend this hotel and joe needs a raise for his customers skills and service!

Don’t stay here. It is dirty, no bar, restaurant, pool, no blanket on the bed just a sheet. Dirty floors, no security and it’s in a bad area.

Pretty terrible spot. It’s fine. If you want to rent a room, and sleep, then wake up and leave immediately, you’ll be fine. But it appears to be in the middle of a remodel to make it worse.

Upon arrival the security guard tried calling staff to the front desk with no avail. Once the two staff arrived the one didn’t know how to work the system and the other gave us an already booked room. Went back to the front desk and there was now a male staff who knew right away that the room we had been given already had people in it and said that they had to use the printed paper on the desk and not the computer system. Unorganized and unprofessional. Bad start to the night and even more disappointed upon entry to the room where the curtains were grimy, towels stained and just overall gross. Won’t stay here again.

I've had the luxury of staying at the Wyndham Garden Midtown Phoenix for 5 days now while my vehicle is in the transmission shop and I'm stuck in town until the work is complete. Every staff member has been super kind to me, as well as professional, helpful, and very welcoming since I arrived with my service animal and bags earlier this week. There is an employee (possibly a manager) by the name of Chris... he has been exceptionally helpful and very efficient in all he does and he does it all with poise and wearing a smile. I've seen his interaction and attitude towards other guests and it's not just me getting special treatment, he's genuine and treats everyone with respect and goes above and beyond to make all guests feel appreciated and welcomed at his hotel. Above standard service by far. The rooms are clean and the price is unbeatable. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels between Portland Oregon, Los Angeles California, San Diego California, Tucson AZ and Phoenix AZ AND everywhere in between... and this place definitely holds it down as one of the top 5 best places to stay that I'll always recommend and come back to. Thank you Wyndham Garden for making a terrible experience a little less terrible and for giving me a safe and cozy place to stay while I'm away from home with a broken down vehicle.

We also booked through Expedia and learned on arrival that midtown garden won't honor booking. The place looked sleazy and had a "cash only" sign. Expedia did end up giving us another nearby hotel.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! If you booked via a 3rd party website, you will want to call this joke of a hotel, because you won't have a reservation. I booked through Hotels.com, had a wedding to go to, showed up and was told that they didn't have my reservation or any rooms. Trying to find another hotel room a 4pm on Saturday proved pointless. We were unable to find a room in time, had to miss the first part of the wedding (which I was supposed to be in), then had to drive all the way for Phoenix back to Tucson with two kids afterwards because we had no place to stay. BTW, the manager here really could have cared less.
