*Do not stay here*. My recent stay at the Phoenix hostel was anything but good. To start off, the rooms are tiny and have no room to securely store large luggage. In addition to this, the room was extremely hot making it unpleasant to be in let alone sleep in, and when bought up to the front desk, this information was poorly received (found out we were talked about among other staff). The facilities were not clean, the water in the showers were either freezing cold or boiling hot. Overall this place is dirty and outdated and I definitely would not stay here if I had my time over again.

This hostel I must say is absolutely FANTASTIC! Here is why. The management and staff are as nice as possibly can be. The young ladies that work here cook breakfast every morning for the guests. A good breakfast too. The hostel is emasculate 100% of the time. Very very clean. My favorite part about this place is the fact they have a strict alcohol policy. They do not allow people to get drunk and party at this hostel. They are not about the BS. They are about the guest having a peaceful, relaxing, and clean environment to stay at. So if you are looking for a party hostel, than go elsewhere, but if you want to stay at a place that is friendly, clean and a lot of fun, then you have to come see Keith and Katie. Those two are the absolute best. This is the best hostel I have ever stayed a

Awesome place! Can't be the price, they were very accommodating of my late arrival, offered complementary continental breakfast, and the owner is a neat guy with great stories and helpful info. I was impressed all around and hope to make it back sometime.

Phoenix Hostel is by far the best hostel I’ve ever been to (and I do have some experience when it comes to hostels). This place is unique. Super clean, safe and organized. Great and respectful staff. Excellent and healthy breakfast. Not to mention the weekly activities that take place. The outdoor area is also incredible and super accommodating. It’s easy to note how beautiful the decoration is around the hostel by every single detail. There are musical instruments as well. And besides of all that, the location is also amazing, you will find everything you need close to the hostel.

Stayed at many a hostel before, but this one will forever have a special place in my heart. It was very clean, complimentary breakfast was a nice plus, and everyone I met there was cool. One of the most enjoyable weeks of my life. Location is great too; so many things are within walking distance. Pretty sure I'll be back someday.

I will always enjoy going back to the Phoenix hostel. Centrally located in the Art district, all important amenities are a 15 walk away. The staff is friendly and creative, the owner has stories galore, and the people you meet from around the world make this a top notch story in anyone’s book. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed my stay at Phoenix Hostel. I originally booked the Navajo room and stayed there for 4 nights- this room was great spacious (sleeps 4) with its own mini fridge, but I would caution people that the shower is the smallest shower in the entire world; I am petite and I felt claustrophobic. The shared kitchen was very nice clean. The whole hostel was VERY clean, which I appreciated. My flight home was cancelled and the manager, Francisco, was so kind, helpful, and accommodating on booking me for another night in the separate unit upstairs. That room is awesome with its own kitchen and cute balcony, it is very spacious, there is a space with a desk that you could work remotely. It was really nice and quiet up there too with a full sized shower. Loved this place & would book here again! The location was also very nice in a super cute historic neighborhood, close to 3 vegan restaurants and within walking distance of transit, both bus and metro. It was very easy to get to the desert botanical garden on the bus from here (highlight of my trip!). A note: google maps tells you to walk up 7th but there is a really nice pedestrian only bridge across the freeway on 10th, take that instead. Also, it is very easy to get to & from the airport from the hostel on public transit, no matter what someone may tell you. I felt completely safe my entire trip from people but cars not so much... I had several close calls with drivers either running lights or just not paying attention. Phoenix is not very accommodating to pedestrians or bike riders unfortunately.

This was my first experience with Hostel and I loved it. This place will break all the wrong notion one may have for hostel. It is clean and beautiful place to live. Staff is really friendly and they have great common place with games, patio, hammock, and garden. Will definitely go again.

This hostel is nestled in a neighborhood close to Roosevelt Row, downtown, and public transportation. Walkable. Quiet. Room wasn’t the one I booked but comparable; it was clean and more than adequate for hostel-like accommodations. The most peculiar thing about this hostel is that I stayed there for four days/three nights and never once saw another human on the property. I’ve stayed at hostels across the globe and there have always been other people around. Hence, it doesn’t have the hostel feel which is quite okay for me but for anyone seeking that - you may want to check before booking to learn if others will be around. The WIFI was good overall. The email communication from the property management was excellent; provided access code and instructions…

I have never stayed at a hostel before. My room at this place was quiet, clean, and a great location in Phoenix downtown. Minutes from the airport and close to the convention center. I loved the property for its charm and character. The staff were outstanding.

Phoenix hostel was fantastic! Granola but still very clean and comfortable. The staff who checked me in and out were the perfect mix of friendly and efficient. I like that they have door codes rather than keys. They didn't keep the ac turned on very high, which I appreciated because it meant that I didn't experience so much of a shock going outside from inside or vice versa. The rooms were nice and quiet. I liked the common areas, too, and it makes it much more practical for a long stay that you have access to a full kitchen to cook your own meals. I was only there one night, so I just cooked breakfast for myself with the ingredients provided, which was pretty great. All in all, a fantastic hostel experience in a great location in Phoenix.

This is cozy place. The garden and night time light are fantastic. If you have a plan for a couple travel, this would be good for you. And near the hostel, there are good restaurants in the night time. The weather is perfect for winter time. If you live in Northern states or Canada, you will satisfy this place 100%. Also, they(staff and guests) are friendly (like my best friends). This is very different from the other hostels which I have visited in US and Canada. You will have the chance to communicate with good people! Lastly, don't forget that Phoenix AZ has a lot of attractions which you may have unique experience. The person (man, maybe owner?) in the hostel is the greatest trip advisor in Phoenix area. You just ask him when you are not sure about the attractions. Overall, wonderful experience.

I would give 5 stars if not for no AC. The staff was really great as is the atmosphere. The place while dated, was clean. Showers nice and hot. Bedding nice and clean with personal lights, charge blocks. It is clear this place wants to be very inclusive and why not? I consider this to be a cultural experience and would like other seniors to give it a shot. I came up from Sonora Mexico where I live.

Loved ! Loved this space. Courteous staff and the atmosphere was well maintained. There is a garden area with bamboo and a hammock, lots of shade. A great place to be to get some flavor in the mix. Lots of great eats around as well as arts and entertainment in walking distance! Yummy pancakes , coffee in the morning ... eggs and fruit too! It a fantastic chill vibe. I highly reccomend.

Last time I stayed there I would have gotten the same amount of sleep if I had slept outside on a park bench the only difference was I was paying 30 bucks a night for the privilege of not sleeping I do not recommend. When I told the manger he didn't really seem to care and told me I can't help if your not getting any sleep.spwjd the extra go to a motel instead.

Loved my stays here in the salado room! Close proximity to restaurants and shops. Tucked away in a quiet area. Great communication from the host. The shared shower is just a regular house shower, make sure you have your own soap/shampoo. Can't wait to return for another stay!

Very nice basic clean and comfortable accommodations in a very friendly environment at a reasonable price. The location is very close to midtown and downtown in an up and coming neighborhood. We especially appreciated that eggs, toast, coffee and tea were all available for guest preparation in the common kitchen. The staff was always available to help and answer questions. 5 Stars for the value.

It was a good first experience staying at a hostel. But for the convenience and privacy that I usually like to have when traveling, maybe not my cup of tea. It was pretty clean and nice but I didn't enjoy having to share a shower since it was a little inconvenient. The location is great though and if you're into hostels then this would be a good place to stay.

Wow. What an awesome experience. The Phoenix Hostel feels like a tucked away gem despite being a few minutes walk from the lively Roosevelt strip. Everything was clean, inviting, and inclusive. Deb is incredibly responsive and kind. The hostel is gated and feels very safe and the outdoor area is absolutely stunning. If is not too hot, it’s a great place for morning coffee. The rooms were the perfect temperature and mine had a ceiling fan. There were several options for lighting, including a low-light lamp, perfect for the evenings before bed. There was also an opportunity for privacy, which can be nice at the end of a long day. If you are into more social atmospheres, they host events with local artists; this Friday night there was great live music just steps outside your room (wasn’t too loud in the rooms at all). They also use sustainable practices which I very much appreciated. Ten out of ten, would highly recommend for your stay in Phoenix. PS. There is an incredible (vegan) taco shop only a 4 min walk away! They have a 4.9 rating on Google, and I’m about to head to their page to nudge them even closer to a 5 star. The churo donuts are a must to round out your meal. So good.

Very nice place to stay: clean, the Pima room was comfortable, the living room is well suited for meeting other people, the kitchen is very well equipped and they provide the supplies for cooking like bread, coffee, eggs, even pancakes powder. Location is optimal for visiting Phoenix, all at a very affordable cost.

This was my first stay at a hostel. It had been highly recommended from a friend of mine and I thought I would give it a try. Rooms at hotels were very expensive because of the super bowl. This was quite a bargain. It was also great meeting other travelers in the common areas. The hosts were very friendly and the kitchen was well stocked for self made breakfast.

I felt very safe and welcomed at Phoenix Hostel (I was travelling alone). I had the Skyloft room and this room is most likely bigger than the average hotel room around Phoenix. The view from the balcony was beautiful. The property is clean. Everybody I interacted with at the hostel were very nice. Location was very convenient, just a 2 minute walk off the Roosevelt strip. I have already recommended this hostel to friends and will book again if I ever stay in Phoenix again!

Absolutely loved it. Stayed in the Skyloft apartment upstairs. Cute little balcony... Will definitely be back! Super clean!

Great hostel! The house is super cute, the common area and the rooms are really nice and clean. The location is great, we can easily park on the street, it's quiet and the neighboorhood is reaaally nice and safe (lot of place to eat, have a drink, grocery store and lightrail walkable). What else? The staff is really nice and helpful. Definetly one of (even the) best place to stay in Phoenix !

I really enjoy this place every time I visit. They have cultural events where all the staff is friendly and makes sure you feel comfortable while you’re there. Their garden is so cozy to hang out in and enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings. It’s one of my favorite spots.

A really unique great stay! Bedrooms are quiet clean & comfy in the back. Up front there is a piano, large community table & clean kitchen. Beautiful garden with seating, games and the hostel hosts community events so you get to meet locals too, not just travelers. Deb was knowledgeable and helpful. Enjoyed the artistic vibe and being downtown. Parking is limited limited so Uber or public transport!

I felt welcomed from the beginning on. Deb and Mary are very helpful and tried everything to make my stay in Phoenix just wonderful. They gave me very helpful tipps and we had really nice and personal conversations; just all is about sharing, which creates a great atmosphere. There is even free breakfast, which I didn't expect at all, and some very nice places to have breakfast. Kitchen and bathroom are well equipped and designed with love. You can feel everywhere that this place has grown for a long time and has been made with a lot of love. When I came back three weeks later, it was just as wonderful as on my first stay, it felt like coming home. I really hope to come back one day

Phoenix hostel has been and IS such an amazing gem in the heart of Phoenix. The accommodations, the staff, and communication is always stellar. I’ve provided cultural programming at the hostel and it always works due to its proximity to downtown, airport and major highways. Excited to have a place like this that promotes cultural diversity and invites the world to our lovely city center.

A very nice cozy place to stay, it is a lot quieter than a typical hostel, but nonetheless is a great tidy place.
