**Use caution if you are COVID conscious!** This trail (Echo Canyon) essentially felt like a super-spreader event today. Super busy. Maybe 15% of people were masked, passing inches apart throughout the entire hike, huffing & puffing on crowded trails. I suggest wearing a breathable mask because it makes this challenging hike even more challenging and limited space without crowds. But all-in-all, spectacular views and a rewarding climb!

I know this hike is very touristy and busy, but I have loved it every single time I've climbed it. There are a lot of scrambling areas, which makes it really fun. Hiking boots are so much easier than tennis shoes because she's tend to slip, although people wear all different shoes and make it up just fine. No dogs allowed.

Incredibly fun trail with a super rewarding breathtaking view of the Phoenix area at the finish line. Kid and pet friendly trail but for the love of God, where some damn shoes that protect your feet, not sandals πŸ€¦πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ The trail is very rocky and slippery in certain areas. I highly recommend hiking sticks. This mountain will certainly test your knee's fortitude coming down πŸ˜‚ Very popular hiking spot, certain spots on the trail become congested but it's not bad.

This is not an easy hike. Be prepared for a lot of bouldering! In the end, it's a really rewarding experience. I'd recommend getting there early. It's a popular place and parking is limited. Also, the trail gets busy, so the earlier you are up and down, the better the experience is without having to try and navigate rocks and people. The view is spectacular. Bring lots of water and some snacks!

Oops, my daughter got recommendations from her friends and was directed here. It's lovely, but we accidentally took the turn to Echo Canyon trail and it's a double black diamond. Pretty difficult for a 63 year old woman who hasn't been terribly active the past few years. My daughters scaled the last half to the summit, I chose to hang at the 19 post until they rejoined me. The 2.5 to 3 hours to summit is accurate. If we'd return, I'd probably attempt the summit.

Camelback Mountain is one of my favorite hikes in Arizona and a must do every time I make it to Phoenix. I always hike it at sunrise and well before the sun comes up due to the heat! I cannot express how hot it gets up there once the sun comes up so starting early with tons of water is a must! The terrain is rugged and can be slippery at times so good shoes to hike in help a lot. Cactus line the trail along with shrubbery but the rocks really make it look like it's something out of this world! The views of Phoenix are phenomenal up here as well and the colors at sunrise are tough to beat! One of the gems of Phoenix for sure!

Very challenging hike but worth the effort. Make sure to take enough water Would not recommend to someone who is prone to tripping n looses balance. The reward at the top is 100% worth it πŸ‘πŸ™‚

We started our day by trying to hike at the Echo Canyon Trailhead but the parking lot was closed because it was too full. We ended up doing Cholla Trailhead and since it was such a busy Saturday we had to park on the side of the street about a half mile away or so. The hike was more on the moderate side, some spots were pretty rocky and could be challenging but nothing too crazy. You can get to Camelback Mountain from either the Echo Canyon Trailhead or the Cholla Trailhead. Overall a very beautiful hike. Round trip from the car was 3.8 miles and 1,335 feet elevation gain.

If youre an outdoor enthusiast you have to climb Camelback. Its not terribly hard, just make sure youre hydrated and bring extra water up with you. The altitude can make it a little hard to breathe also. Its not easy but it is a challenge!! Also wear shoes with grip on the bottom.

What a great hike. Listed as hard, I would say it is difficult. Take your time and you will be fine. Multiple paths to reach the top. You should definitely check this out.

Camelback Mountain manages to cram all the qualities you hate about a traffic jam and social media into one experience. If you want an amazing hike showing the beauty of Arizona, there are 40 better more enjoyable, more relaxing hikes within an hour of Camelback and 10 to 15 within 30 minutes. It is better to enjoy Camelback Mountains beauty from a distance.Including some photos of better places because you deserve better.

A really great hike. There are a few places that can be more challenging if you aren't in great shape, but it's really fun and enjoyable. The views at the top are amazing. Honestly if you are just visiting for a little while you have got to come and hike Camelback. I have been a couple of times now and it is just amazing. Don't go when it's too hot tho cause it sucks when it's over 75Β°.

The hike provides exceptional views of the valley! It isΒ considered one of the nation's top hiking destinations and attracts visitors from all over. There're two main trails that are considered to be pretty difficult, so one should proceed with caution.

This is a steep climb. It is physically demanding. Bring more water than you think you need. If it's hot, bring electrolytes. I recommend this climb if the temperature is below 90 degrees.

Wonderful hike. Cholla trail is pretty easy until the last 3-400 feet where it becomes challenging and steep in areas. Well worth the hike though! Lots of water and take breaks, slow and steady.

I've hiked it twice now. It's sooo much fun. Iconic mountain. For an experienced hiker/ athletic person it's not too difficult but please be careful if you aren't super experienced because you won't have great time. Great views. Steep grade. Awesomeness.

I do this hike once every week in the mornings. The view is absolutely stunning and makes for a beautiful reward in the end. I would recommend to bring lots of water if your doing this midday and wear nice shoes with good grip!

Insane views and such a fun hike. It’s a great workout too that won’t disappoint. Not as difficult as it says, a lot of walking over boulders.

Great hike, incredible view…. If your from out of town bring alot of H2O. Between my wife and I we consumed almost 5 Litres of water. We got on the trail at 6:45 am reached the summit just under 1.5hr (my wife could have done it in 45 min if I was not holding her back). Most of ascent is done in the shade.

Awesome experience after a rainy day! The parking spots are limited and you need to be patient to find one especially in the busy days.
