So
today,
I
took
my
9
year
old
daughter
to
the
emergency
room.
When
I
went
to
check
her
in,
the
lady
up
front
asked
if
my
daughter
had
been
there
before?
I
said
yes
a
long
time
ago.
I
told
her
my
daughter's
information.
She
couldn't
find
her
in
the
system."
it's
really
important
we
find
her
because
we
need
to
know
previous
health."
I
looked
at
my
sister,
who
was
with
me,
and
said,
"Take
her
(my
daughter)
to
go
sit
down."
When
my
daughter
left,
I
told
the
lady
she
was
adopted
at
a
young
age,
and
i
changed
her
name
when
I
gained
full
custody.
She
asked
what
is
her
old
name
was,
and
I
gave
it.
That
is
how
she
found
her.
I
told
her
she
was
adopted
and
doesn't
know.
I
don't
want
anyone
to
call
her
by
that
name.
She
doesn't
know
that
name
or
last
name.
She
said
this
happened
before.
Let's
see
what
we
can
do.
She
gets
on
the
phone
and
calls
the
registry
and
ask
if
she
can
change
the
name,
and
they
said
no,
that
I
would
have
to
fill
out
a
form.
I
tried
to
make
it
clear
to
the
lady
"I
don't
want
anyone
calling
my
daughter
by
her
old
name".
She
starts
to
talk
to
the
other
ladies
asking
them
if
we
can
call
her
by
my
daughter's
name.
They
start
talking,
and
then
I
walk
up
and
say,
is
there
a
problem?"
One
lady
says
"no.
She
can
come
over."
so
they
could
put
a
medical
wristband
on.
I
said,
"What
does
it
say?"
she
shows
me,
and
it's
Ariza
Sandoval,
Her
old
name.
I
said
no.
Then
they
said
"we
could
tape
it
on
her
back."
At
this
point,
I
was
very
upset
because
they
seemed
very
insensitive
and
the
lady
that
was
checking
her
in
kept
talking
loud.
I
told
the
I
am
her
Father.
I
am
all
she
knows.
I
don't
want
her
to
find
out
like
this.
I'll
tell
her
my
time
my
way.
My
voice
was
so
shaky,
and
my
chest
hurt.
One
lady
with
blonde
curly
hair
finally
had
a
sense
of
compassion
and
looked
at
me
and
said
"Ill
see
what
I
could
do."
I
went
to
go
sit
down.
As
I
sat
there,
I
thought
I
could
just
go
somewhere
else.
Then
the
lady
that
said
she
would
see
what
she
could
do.
Had
came
back,
My
sister
took
my
daughter
outside.
She
said
they
fixed
it
and
showed
me.
I
still
couldn't
trust
this
place
so
i
told
the
lady
"I
took
my
daughter's
temperature
and
her
fever
was
going
down."
So
I
left.
I
didnt
get
why
this
was
a
problem.
That
name
doesn't
exist,
nor
is
it
on
her
birth
certificate
or
medical
insurance.
I'm
writing
this
because
I
wasn't
the
first,
and
I
know
I
wont
be
the
last,
But
please
fix
your
policy.
And
be
a
little
bit
more
sensitive.
There
isn't
much
parents
like
me
out
there,
but
we
do
exist.
