The host was kind and friendly, the waitress was phenomenal! She was really nice and attentive. The structure and decor is really nice, the place has a sort of wet almost musty smell to it though. The food was not good at all. I got a red chicken enchilada with beans and rice. The rice seemed to be too seasoned with pepper? The beans were good. The enchilada was not good at all. The chips and salsa are ok, nothing special. My child got the Mac n cheese and fries from the kids menu. Kid only ate the fries, stated mac n cheese was “funky”. I’m glad we tried it at least.

This is a very nice restaurant with great food. The portion sizes are very large and flavors are on point. I haven't been here in over 20 years but it's nice to see not much has changed since then. The staff is very welcoming, courteous and knowledgeable. Our food was served in a very timely way and I couldn't have been happier with the overall service. Excellent job well done Garcia's!

When you be there can't be disappointed, atmosphere is very Mexican. The food is amazing and service very nice. Dish very well presentation,and the taste is amazing. When I'm in Phoenix, I will never skip the opportunity to have my meals there. Thank you.

Great food. I tried the pollo ranchero, very tasty, big serving. This is my friends favorite place to eat when we're in the Phoenix area.

Ordered pick-up tonight and the only reason I gave this 2 stars was because the greeter was friendly. Brought the food home, everything was cold. There was hardly any sauce on my order and the cheese was cold. Not one order was warm. It was like it wasnt even freshly cooked. Online, it said my order would take 30-40 min, I was there to pick up in 35min. I have been to Garcia's several times, inside, and the pick-up ordering is nothing close to actually being there. Definitely disappointed.

I have been coming here since the 1990s and it has remained the same with their indoor decorations. I know that this is a family owned restaurant because the family pictures are displayed throughout the restaurant. Friendly service and friendly faces. They have a bar area and they play up to-date music which makes you want to go dancing. They used to have a live mariachi band that would walk table to table if you had a request they played for you. Due to covid19 I am not sure if they still do this. They have plenty of options on the menu and the prices have gone up so expect to pay a little more. They have the best Chips and salsa 😋 and the fajitas is very flavorful and filling. I wish they made tortillas in house but they don't. Not a fan. I prefer the corn tortillas when I am given an option. We also have a favorite server and we always ask for him when dining in. He makes us feel welcome and he will mention that it's been awhile since he has seen us. It's nice to be missed. Ask for Julio Monday thru Saturday. It was nice to dine in again after a long wait for the restaurant to reopen for business. Happy dining.

My FAVORITE Mexican restaurant the original Garcias. ONLY location I will go to. Food is fantastic. I've never had a bad experience here. Salas is homemade as well as the chips. You can taste the difference from this location to others.

The service is awesome. The drinks have a kick and the food never disappoints. I enjoy this restaurant and go as often as possible.

I ordered the Tampiquena steak. I was disappointed with it. It was basically a steak cut into three pieces. It wasn't topped with any onions or chilies, a big let down. The sauce on the Enchilada could have been a bit more spicy in my opinion. Would not recommend this plate. The Carnitas were better. Go with that.

Everything was on point, the place was clean, the staff friendly and quick. I thoroughly enjoyed the fajitas we had, and the chips and salsa were fresh. There's something about freshly fried Tortilla chips and their house salsa that's just chef's kiss. The staff came out and sang happy birthday for my brother in law, they were all so wonderful. The food is well portioned and priced. We'll be back soon.

Ok we went for drinks in bar area , service was ok , no chips or salsa given or asked if we would like any , also bathroom is horrendous ,so tiny and the only one of two toilets work ...it's time Garcia's update and make larger !!!! So many customers i really don't see how they get away with that bathroom ...drinks were good though so i give em that

Good food. Good environment. Three stars because it seems there's a food server and a drink server. I ordered a beer and got charged for it (this has been fixed) even though the drink person never brought it to me. The regular server was great. Neither of them were mean or rude in any way. It's just a very weird way to run your restaurant.

Came here for lunch with friend from work. Food was excellent. Got way more bang for my buck. The server was busy eating instead of taking care of us. It wasn't until we saw a manager, that we were able to get a refill on our drinks. We were almost done eating at this time. But the food was great.

Sunday relaxing lunch is what we had planned. Was seated promptly. Given menus and drink was Order taken. Then after a few minutes without any drinks our food order was taken. It took 45 to get our food. Every time I asked I asked I was told it was coming. Then when I went up front to ask what was going on? Then another server came and retook our order. I asked if my order could be comped or part of it for this horrible service. And I was told no.

This was today as always, & still is, after 25+ yrs, some of the best d**n food I have ever eaten! From the seating hostess who greets you with a smile, to the server who anticipated my every need before I did, to the busser, it is an incredible dining experience! Did I mention there's a mariachi band? Pop in! You will see why they have been in business since back in the 1950s! Make sure you save room for fried ice cream! I love this place!

Was in the mood for fried ice cream and found the nearest location which was here. The flavor was good but if you want a freshly made one, this is not the place. They have them pre made so the flakes end up soggy, which is the main part of the desert

I had a delicious meal of a chimichanga with machaca beef. Everything from the chips and salsa to the rice and beans were tasty. A friend of mine recommended this place because she used to eat there all the time. It was worth the drive.

Italian food is one that takes time to make, so since food here is good and ambiance is decent it gets good marks. A bit noisier than more expensive, smaller, home style restaurants.

Food was good and decently priced. Service was friendly food was on time and hot. However they need to invest a little bit more money into maintenance of the place. My chair was very unstable and seemed like it could fall at any moment. It was a little Dusty and there were light fixtures that were out. Otherwise it was a pretty decent dining experience.

Excellent food and as usual service was happy and helpful. We arrived late, just 15 mins before close but were treated well and served good wholesome food. The server recommended the shrimp burrito I ordered be done enchilada style and boy was she spot on. The enchilada sauce was rich and spicy but just right. The beans here are one of the few I enjoy. Everything was great.

This place is great. Don't be afraid to stop if the parking is full. Have been there with full parking lot expecting to wait 30 to 40 minutes and surprisingly was seated immediately. The food is great! Staff is always top-notch!

We drove across town to meet our group here. As many times as we've eaten here, not one of Garcia's plate specials has disappointed us. Not too chili, not too salty, not greasy, serving sizes more than enough. So, well worth the drive and we'll keep coming back!

I used to love this place now... it's wonk wonk. Ever since the kitchen "BURNT DOWN" their food became commercialized. You don't get that homemade taste like before. The service I like. The waitresses/ waiters and servers at very professional and treat you like family even though most of them are in their late teens early 20s. The atmosphere is great very fun and family oriented.

I love the food here. I looked up drive thru hours and it said til 8 pm On Sunday. I was there at 4pm. No customers. Not hating but I was just left waiting at the drive thru to order for about 10 minutes. NIENTE😢. I got the hint so I went to Pete's Fish n Chips instead. I took that as a sign. PETE'S HIT THE SPOT YO!😋 Awesome they are close by.😁

Amazing authentic food! Traveling for work and was recommended to try here. We ordered 15 meals for the team and the staff took great care of us. Ashley at the counter is amazing and delivered nothing less than exceptional customer service. Will stop again!

Spent some time in the bar area, it's hard to get a drink, I was standing at the bar for a while before I was even acknowledged, ordered drinks from the waitress, she never brought them, we had to reorder. Stools are super high at the the tables not very comfortable. Bar closed at 9 p.m. not my favorite happy hour.

Not the best Mexican food on town but at least it's consistent. Their general flavor is not exceptional but it's extremely difficult to differentiate its flavor from chain places like Filiberto's or any of the other bertos in town. Flautas were overcooked and not much flavor to them. Tortilla chips had almost the same flavor as bag chips. Cheese crisps was very insipid. Overall, not bad but really not much reason to go out of my way to visit again.

I can only comment on the food and the way it was packaged. We got it catered and it was still warm but it was really good. I was surprised.

I went to the restaurant with some co-workers and friends. The layout of the restaurant was confusing as there are two buildings on one lot. One building is for dining in while the other one seems to be the drive-thru. However, once we figured out which was which things became easier. I ordered a small order of nachos with ground beef and a lemonade. My meal was delicious. The free salsa and tortilla chips were also delicious. The service was nice but there were at least (5) different people that attended to us while there so that was a bit confusing. Either way all the staff we encountered were polite and helpful. I may visit again one day whenever I am in the area.

We enjoyed dining here and everything was perfect up until we had to leave. Our waiter was very rude when we tip him. He called us “pinches codos” used other foul language and claimed we had to tip him the 18 percent, hence the fact that we were 4 adults and 3 kids. This behavior was very unacceptable and there are other ways to ask for something. We ended tipping more than the 18 percent when we talked to the manager about it. If he really wanted the money then, he can have it, we were not going to fight about that. If you say our party was big, please include that in the bill, otherwise, I will tip accordingly. A tip is a courtesy!

My family and I went for the first time to Garcias that my grandmother recommended for her bday dinner. We all really enjoyed the atmosphere the food and also the service was great. Our Waitress was very friendly and did a great job. Also a waiter Mike went beyond for us! Great first experience we will definitely be returning. ✨️

Rude service, wrong orders and cold food. All of the above is all true and nothing new. Hoping to eliminate that and be proactive I placed an order for takeout. Once there I called in to have my food brought out and despite no customers And having requested curbside I received push back. Reluctantly after a long wait my food was brought out. You guessed it rudely the order was wrong and the food was cold

This is for the take out building. The workers are wonderful. The inside could use bigger tables, but overall the restaurant is always clean, food is always delicious at a lower price because no waiter is bringing you refills or chips. Yes you have to pay for chips, but getting food at a lower price for take out is always welcome!..... I've also been in the restaurant and yes it's the same food, chips and drinks, but at a higher price. The times that I've sat down in the restaurant, half of the time the waiters had an attitude.... That's why I love the take out building...

I find it sad. I've been eating at Garcia's regularly for over twenty years. I think the food is great. The customer drive thru service is starting to suffer. Since dine-in service is no longer available, I have been using the drive thru. I have noticed on my many visits that the speaker at the drive thru hasn't worked correctly for years. They keep asking me to repeat my order and I keep asking them to repeat it back. I believe if we could hear and understand each other, we would both have a good experience.

The manager Ashley at this location is Extremely extremely rude, unprofessional & by far not customer service oriented. I visited the drive thru waiting over 15 minutes for Quesadilla that was burned after paying $7.25 plus tax. I informed her of what occurred she then advised me to bring the receipt & food back within 2 weeks. In which this is a big Inconvenience being I live on the other side of town; after expressing that she told me to have a good day & HUNG UP. I called back she answer the phone asked if I could hold before I could respond you had already put me on hold for 5 minutes then I informed her she was very rude & asked for her supervisor above her then stated that she is the manager & advised me to write a dispute on a website; then after repeating herself several times before stated to call back & speak with the night shift supervisor. I’m in disbelief on the customer service I received from this restaurant. THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE I RECEIVED TODAY IS UNACCEPTABLE & UNPROFESSIONAL FROM ASHLEY TO HAVE A TITLE AS A MANAGER FOR A VERY KNOWN RESTAURANT

The most recent visit was on Thursday evening December 28th at 35th Avenue North of McDowell Road. My sister and I had a server named " Michael ". He was one of the 2 most excellent servers we had ever been served by. Great communication skills, very attentive, friendly and very professional. The service was excellent overall. When my sister and I go back, we will request to have Michael to wait on us. If service is good, I will leave 20% tip, but are waiter earned more than 20% tip. As always Garcia's Mexican Restaurant has Great food.

Not enough meat. They gave me one scoop of meat. Years ago it was two scoops. I will never order it again. 12 dollars for that.not worth it at all. Had more Tortilla then meat
