I found this place by accident in my neighborhood. I always like to support local businesses. This quaint little place is a gem. I put it on my map. Everything is fresh and delicious. Great margaritas. I had the garlic 🍤 and it was delicious! Outdoor seating and good service. A bit pricey. $40. Per person w/ margarita. You must try this place.

I came here this morning with my friend and it was an amazing experience. Our server Luis made sure we had what we wanted and went out of his way to help. Everything was very freshly cooked, yet came out quickly. I ordered the Vanilla Latte, Orange Juice, and the Presidio Breakfast. The orange juice I highly recommend because it’s all natural, great flavor. The breakfast dish was full of flavor and was very unique

Stopped here for the first time the other night. Our server Luis was amazing. Very friendly, explained the menu to us, and made sure we had what we needed. The restaurant was clean, somewhat minimalist. Some of the food was better compared to other things we ordered. The prices were also a little high compared to other similar Mexican restaurants. The two of us each ordered one drink and some food. While we did order more than 2 items, the total bill was over 100.

Wanted to support cause my parents are from Michoacan & the enchiladas looked amazing online. Unfortunately. I had to leave cause some of my party thought it was too pricey. It actually is--if you compare to TX Roadhouse or Cheesecake Favtory or many other places with better ambience. It was almost full, so that hopefully that means its delicious.

This was the best Mexican food I have ever had! They make everything from scratch, so they were able to accommodate my vegan diet! I ordered off the menu, and the chef whipped up one of the most memorable meals I think I'll ever have! Not to mention, the margarita was on point!!!! Their homemade salsa is to die for! The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable! You HAVE to put this place in your restaurant rotation!!!! ???

I underestimated this establishment as this petite cocina is utterly the perfect vibe. The atmosphere is a sighly upscale, mini-posh, establishment with limited seating. The eats are fresh and savory, full of impacting flavor. Their beer selection needs attention, but I was overall very impressed. Our service was cheerful and friendly, prompt and efficient. Our dishes were HOT, right off the pan. The chefs are quite talented and artistic. Great colors and spice. Thank you for a wonderful experience. The patio was a lovely surprise and surprisingly not too noisy being off the street.

Presidio Covina Mexican might just be my new favorite restaurant in Phoenix! My friend and I have been wanting to check it out for some time now and it did not disappoint! We started off with a round of chips & salsa, some Mexican street corn and a round of margaritas. All of which were delicious! For lunch I went with their taco trio (I tried the shrimp, fish and carne asada), their steak was perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful as was the shrimp! I highly recommend Presidio Cocina Mexicana!!!

Good “champagne” mimosas, good and fast service, food quality is adequate. Buy two get 1 marg deal is pretty good. And a dollar off tacos makes it pretty cost effective.

The tacos were all delicious. There was individuality and flavor in every single taco. The beans were a nice consistency. The reason for four stars was the guacamole. I didn’t care for the texture and it was quite over priced for the amount that is provided. Overall, really good food!

Unbelievable food! Tucked away in central phoenix across the street from the hospital. The service was friendly and quick but the food was absolutely the reason I’d be back again.

I’m so torn on this spot… so the prices are literally ridiculous..I mean all of their antrees are $15 and up even for a plate of tacos..their drinks are $12-$15 and they even charge you for chips and salsa. The taste of everything was good but honestly you leave feeling a bit cheated. I spent around $85 for two people…we got one app, two drinks, and two entrees. I will say the food was good but this is more of a hole in the wall type feel with a gourmet price tag…just go expecting to pay a lot. The server was not very knowledgeable and I believe I was overcharged for a dinner plate during lunch.

This is such a hidden gem! Their fish tacos are delicious and they have a great variety on the menu. The star on the menu though is the FLAN. It is easily the best flan I’ve ever eaten in my life and is worth every single penny. I would skip the salsa, it’s more of a hot sauce than a salsa. Highly recommend!

We stopped in here this week as it's right across the street from Dignity Health., very convenient. Hubs ordered the Chile verde and I had two tacos- one pollo and one Cochinita pibil. The food was fantastic. The waitress never got around to us; so I think it was the manager who took our order and such. It's a small place from what I can tell and just one server handling the room. We had iced teas to drink- so about $35 for lunch.

(Translated by Google) I found the food with nothing to commend, nothing worthwhile. It's a Mexican food restaurant but not Mexican food prepared as it deserves. I went on a recommendation and I took a disappointment in the case of enchiladas: are made with packaged tortillas, they know flour raw, very thick and without being fried, plus it seems that the ingredients are canned, both the sauce and the Beans. Prices are also high for the food they serve, as can easily be overcome elsewhere for a lower price. For those who accompanied me to eat ordered a burrito for any exaggerated price. I would not return to this place for pleasure.

Food was really good. The two men there who served had horrible customer service. Sooo horrible, what a shame. Food is pretty pricey, can you at least have a friendly face server and who pays attention.

I actually went here to see if one of the staff members had an iPhone charger since my phone had died. Luckily someone did and I purchased the street corn and some shrimp tacos. The food was very yummy and the gentlemen who helped me get the charger was so nice and kind ❤️ He even said I didn’t have to purchase anything. I felt it was right to have done so and I wanted to order anyway lol. I will definitely come back to eat here ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I highly recommend it here!!! The food is so delicious and authentic!!! I love the chilaquiles red or green can’t go wrong. I always try to take friends or family who haven’t tried presidios plus it’s a bonus cause I get to eat here more often haha. Atmosphere is also very nice and service is excellent…

First thing we ate after flying into Phoenix and I probably would’ve been happy eating anything I was so hungry, but I’m SO glad it was this!! Rec from a coworker - Presidio absolutely delivered. Service was FAST, our server was welcoming and funny, the tacos were a great deal and so so tasty, especially the sauce that came with them with some good heat. The margaritas with a tajin rim were refreshing and the tres leche cake was the absolute cherry on top. Fantastic!!

This restaurant is super cute and so original with their menu, great cocktails, all the food we tried was amazing, we ordered the Chile relleno and the filete relleno which is seafood. The chicharrón tacos were amazing, and I also recommend the dirty horchata. Definitely will be back!

I love this place! It's a new find for me, I am a huge fan of El pastor tacos, and since visiting NYC last yr it's been tough finding tacos that can compare or compete with Los Tacos No. 1 despite living 82 miles away from the border of MX. This restaurant did not disappoint! I ordered the taco trio: Carne Asada, Cochinita Pibil, and El pastor. All were muy bueno! El pastor was made correctly with traditional pineapple, carne asada was seasoned nicely with black pepper, and the Cochinita (pork) blew me away with how juicy and tender yet flavorful it was! The guac has just the right amount of onions to it, and the salsas are spot on. They are also killin' it on the elote which was oh so creamy. I love me some fresh cotija cheese YUM YUM. The staff was also very kind and friendly. Bomb service, bomb atmosphere, and bomb food! Thanks Presidio, I will definitely be back!

The food was great! I ordered the Cochinita Tacos, Flan and Horchata drink. The cochinita was cooked and seasoned very well. It's a different take than what I have experienced in the past and this gives Presidio a certain signature and their own touch and flavor of cochinita👌. I think the tortillas are homemade and they were amazing along with the salsas! The flan was my favorite part because it's really creamy almost pudding like and that's my favorite way to have flan. Finally the horchata was perfectly balanced between thick and water. It was done just right and a great blend of the ingredients. Nothing is overpowering. Great job and well earned 5 stars 🌟 👍

Stopped here for lunch with the wife. Margaritas were on point. Tacos and Chili Renello were also great. Chips came straight out from being made fresh. Salsa was well flavored but the dishes for the salsa were so small hard to get a good dip on the chip. Staff were great, would definitely go back.

Chilaquiles is the best Ive ever had, with options to elevate it further with a choice of protein... While I went specifically for that there are many other tempting items on the menu, as well as some really great beverage options. 💯 recommend.

The servers are overwhelmed as it is very busy, it must be family run. Food is fantastic as is the drink selection. If you are patient as they have limited front house you will become a regular customer. Delicious

  • 5/5 Dan B. 3 years ago on Google
There's a lot of good options here, but the winning ones, in my mind, are enchiladas and chilaquiles. The latter won't change your life, but the mole and enchilada sauce are why you're coming there, right? Choosing dishes with that sauce on the makes the place worth coming to for sure. Shout-out to al pastor tacos with pineapple on them if you're in the mood for something a bit more dressed up and authentic.

Really great authentic Mexican dishes. Drinks were light and refreshing. We got the chicken mole and it was one of the best moles I've had, smoky and sweet. Portions are good size and tortillas taste very fresh. Husband got the barbacoa and it was so good. Highly recommend and super attentive service.

Love this place, affordable prices and the food is always great. The tacos, specifically the chicharron, are great. They are basically just pork belly and it's so good. Also their rice is to die for.

Probably the best breakfast I've had in quite a while! My wife said it was too spicy for her however, so make sure to order mild if you can't handle the heat like a little baby :)

The BEST place for Mexican food. My lady loves the tacos and i always get the enchiladas. The server “Jose” aka Luis is the best. He’s the reason we eat here. We always call the restaurant to make sure he is working.

Went in for brunch and had a combination red/green chilaquiles with Carne asada. Everything about it was delicious. I also really enjoyed their horchata. I will definitely be back, next time I visit for work.

  • 5/5 Edwin A D. 6 years ago on Google
The tacos we ordered were fantastic. We'll crafted, flavorful with a touch of heat. Definitely will order again!!! The refried beans and Mexican rice were decent, but didn't correspond with the tacos. Not a complaint, but just didn't represent the same level of craftsmanship. However, the Mexican Street Corn was spectacular, but done differently than if you're experienced with street corn in Mexico. Great service. My son, who lives in Phoenix, his first time, asked me the name of the place the day after we went, as he's ready to return.

Presidio is an absolute gem in the quaint central neighborhood. The food is scratch made and the owners are wonderful people (family-owned). The margaritas are delicious and I love the breakfast tacos and Mexican Street Corn. Also their churros are out of this world.

I went in for something warm and cheesy, however I ended up ordering a trio of tacos. I chose Al Pastor, Fish, and Carne Asada. I have never had Al Pastor before so I can't compare it. It was very flavorful, pineapple chunks, tender spiced pork, and a large scoop of guacamole. The Carne Asada was okay, not the best or the worst. The fish taco was very bland, hardly any flavor at all. I ordered chips and salsa, the green was a little too spicy but the red sauce was wonderful. Full of flavor with a depth of spices, I also used on my side of beans. I had their Mexican hot chocolate and was disappointed, the milk had been steamed beyond hot, even 4 icecubes didn't make it drinkable and it was nothing more than regular hot chocolate, not flavorful and spicy as the menu claimed. Staff was courteous and my bill was $20 including tip. The affordability made it a 4 star instead of 3. I did notice I was there during happy hour and did receive$1.00 off each item. I believe their dinner prices would be significantly more. Overall I enjoyed my early dinner, I left full with chips to being home. I probably won't go again as I would rather try something/someplace I've never been before.

Well to start .1st the price on Google is not accurate especially once. You order it's higher than when you check out it's another 4$ higher to put in grasp. The. Carna asada main entree was 28.95 + tax still !!! I've never got a carne asada with chorizo and a chilli relleno ???? Had a ton of fat and grisly the entire end 20% was entire fat ! The flan is so amazing good and churros fantastic ! The diner was over priced and underwhelming ! If your staying @saint Joseph hospital it's across the street but I think will get 100% better for any distance beyond a across the street and can't be much worse !

Fourth of July weekend. We'll try have a back door and ask you to go to the front ? Okay .I guess then we sat at the bar. Crowded I got bumped into 3 times . As I was on the corner. Also the bar area is crowded with items that probably should be in a area away from that seating area . Then . Had a coffee ☕ and asked for creamer got milk ..in a cup . It's fine I guess but nothing to stir it with .. okay ordered omelet and tamale. The food was good . But the service was great. If you have and type of anxiety. It would definitely be hard . Crowded space.. the workers definitely work there behind off . Also make some sign for rear door .. and I'm all for local places so I definitely want to try it again on a different occasion.
