After reading the reviews I went in with an open mind looking for a nice dinner. They have been around since the 60's...OK. Must be doing something right?????? Ordered 1/2 lb fried clams and fries, 6 large shrimp, a beer to relax to. $29 The shrimp came out looking like chicken strips.Never seen anything like it ever!!! Heavily breaded, No flavor at all. Got some cocktail sauce to help them ....but that was watery tomato sauce with a trace of horseradish. So on to the clam strips..... these were the only thing that had any merit in the meal. The fries ....well they really needed a few more minutes in the fryer...under cooked. All I could think of while eating this meal was they reallly really need to take a vacation to New England and see how it's actually made and what it should taste like. I know now that I should have gone to Jack in the Box across the street. Would of been better and cheaper experience.

It was my first time here and wasn't expecting to have to order and pick up my food. However the young lady behind the register was very patient and helpful. She answered all of our questions and not one time did she seem annoyed at our fifty million questions. Once we ordered the food didn't take very long to be ready. Everything was hot and fresh out the oil. There were no surprises with one item being hot and others room temperature. The only thing I would have changed is seasoning. The food lacked seasoning with the exception of the grilled lobster they were perfect. But the other items could benefit from seasoning of any kind. They did provide salt and pepper packs, but I would like to seen the seasoning from the lobster on the fish. Also just a suggestion offer raw onions if requested. I'm from the Midwest and we grew up eating raw onions and pickles with our fried fish. Overall the experience went well. The staff was welcoming and patient.

Amazing fried fish as close as you get to Ohio River fried fish. Big parking lot and easy access from the 202. The fish were big and thick so you get your money worth. Friendly staff.

Great fresh fish fried to perfection. Not oily like many fish fry places. Great family owned establishment worth supporting for the quality food and great prices. I would recommend the two fish and chips along with fried mushrooms or fried zucchini. Every visit has been just as good as my first.

The fish has a killer batter the frys the best and they have a assortment of different dipping sauces tarter ranch my favorite the regular red cocktail has a little spice to it. If your reading this and you love fish and chips go here 32nd St. and Washington/Jefferson across from the Jack n box.

This place truly has the best fish I had in pheonix in my year of visiting the city. PLEASE Don't pass this place up you won't regret it. Pheonix institution.

I've heard about this place for years so we finally decided to try it. It didn't live up to my expectations. First of all, before we ordered the girl this is they could only accept cash. I don't think this is a regular policy since I didn't see any signs indicating that. The food was ok, but not really outstanding, nor were the portions overly generous. The fried shrimp was a very unusual shape, which was surprising (we thought it couldn't be shrimp till we broke into one). The highlight for me was that the hush puppies were delicious.

This place dosnt live up the the rating. Place was dirty, food had no taste and fries tasted like they were cooked with old oil or they had been left out for a while. It's not a normal restraunt set up. You get your own order, drink and your served on a paper plate and tray. I just didn't like the whole vibe of the place seemed to cluttered and dirty for me. It was cheap though. My meal was 12 USD.

The best fish and chips in the Phoenix area. I come here several times a year even though I live 35 miles away. Well worth the drive. Fried zucchini are also super delicious. I can’t believe I’m saying this about fried foods.

We have been going there for years. Loved the fish and chips. Always perfect. They have changed ownership a few times ,whomever took over kept the same quality until this last change. The new owners have cut the fish so they look like square patties . Small and thin. Not flakey anymore. F/F are an assortment of diff cuts , not appealing to the eye. Prices have gone way up. Don’t mind that to much if the quality was the same as before. Very disappointed . Sorry to say we will be trying to find a new favorite fish place :(

Love this place. If a friend had not taken me here years ago, I would have driven right by it. It's not the nicest building to look at but the food is amazing! Crunchy fried cod is my favorite. The grilled is darn good also. Did I forget to mention the sides? Huge fried mushrooms and thick zucchini. Six of each for under $9. Can't wait beat the prices or the taste. One of my favorite places to go!

About 15-17 years ago, Knock Kneed went from about a 12” plate to about a 10” plate. The fish fillets were huge and delicious. After plate size change the food portion got smaller. Fish fillet got noticeably smaller. Within the past year or so, the plate got smaller still and so did portions. Now the fish fillets are less than half the size they were 15 years ago. Zucchini is still awesome. Even with much smaller plates and fish fillets, Knock Kneed has absolutely terrific food and I would recommend them to everyone. It would have been great if Knock Kneed had expanded and put a store in the northwest part of the valley.

Listen, the people are nice, but I must say this will not be a good review. We got fish, jumbo shrimp, fries, and hushpuppies. This food was flavorless. I don't want to be rude, but that's about as polite as I could put it. Nothing was seasoned - not the batter, not the fish, nothing. Hot sauce and tartar sauce did not help. I spent $50+ and went and got food elsewhere after I threw this away.

They have the best Fish and Chips in the valley. Their cod is moist and delicious. The shrimp is big and crunchy. Oh so good. Also the fried zucchini is is large and crunchy, delicious. I highly recommended this place.

I used to love this place. It smells as soon as you walk in. The bathrooms can be smelled from the dining area as well. Went over a yr ago and still the same issue last week. Fish is now rubbery. Used to be a good go to.

Best seafood since leaving Oregon! This place looks questionable by exterior appearance but inside is decorated as if it’s on the coast and smells of fresh fish being cooked. Fish was fried crispy without being hard or crunchy and tastes fresh! Food came out quick even with our party of 10-15 during lunch rush hour.

The BEST seafood around. We love this place. We even drive from queen creek just to get out fix of fish n chips ! Delicious and there's always room for our family of seven.

Found this place that was recommended by someone that works nearby. This food is unbelievable! Super fast service and the amount of food you get is crazy big! We will definitely be back

Great fish and chips! I had the fish/shrimp combo. Both were cooked perfectly. If I had a complaint it would be that there were too many chips (fries) in a serving, buts maybe that just me. Loved the tartar and cocktail sauce too!

I think I have been eating here for 30 years. The reason? Because I love fish and chips. Good fish and chips. There are a few other places that have good f&c, but Knock Kneed is the best. They have a lot of things on the menu, but I have never ordered them. I can't resist the fish and chips.

A nice find on the way to a concert. A large menu and nice sized servings. Food was delish and the ace was pretty full. Will definitely do again!

They got my order wrong. I ordered 2 2 piece fish, 3 shrimp and chips. I only received one. I have to share the meal. The staff argued with all the customers that questioned their order. It was comfortably hot in the restaurant, too. The food wasn't bad though.
