I thought my pizza was really close to a Chicago style pizza. The deep dish is not deep like I’m used to in Chi-town but it was pretty good. Crust was flakey and almost buttery.. definitely savory. The sausage was a full patty.. that was different. There was plenty of seating. Cool mirror setup and a great place to seat outside. The atmosphere was friendly. The wait staff was attentive and really on it. It was nice to have my hot pie served onto my plate for me. The beer we tried was very tasty. The papa go orange blossom tasted very citrusy and the flavor hits you quickly. I haven’t seen this as it might not be common but thought it was a great addition to accepting everyone and making everyone comfortable The bathrooms are marked M W and U… see my photos.

I am NOT picky when it comes to pizza, but I was unimpressed. I ordered takeout through Uber Eats. When I got there 20 minutes after placing the order, my order was not made and I waited for 25 minutes. After spending almost $20 on a small personal pan pizza, I opened it up to find whole tomatoes scattered all over the crust. It was way too saucy and the cheese was barely melted. Disappointed to say the least :/

Tried this restaurant recently after it was recommended by friends and was not disappointed. The minestrone soup was delicious and came out quickly. The pizza was a bit of a wait which is understandable since it’s deep dish. The pizza was amazing!! What was even more amazing was the service we received. Our waiter helped us sign up for the rewards program and even gave us extra points. I can’t wait to go back again!

Service was great I’ll give them that… food wise, not so good… wings were really disappointing, sauce tasted funny, don’t get your hopes up for wings. Pizza was mediocre at best, crust and sauce had no flavor, I guess we expected more for the price.. it’s was $80 just for my wife, daughter and I.. first and last time to this place

Worst pizza we've ever had!!! 👎 If I could give them a minus -5 stars I would. Pizza took 40 mins to come out. That pizza didn't look like pizza it looked like throw up. The crust was half done and soggy. Cheese was hard not even melted, such bad quality cheese. The sausage looked like some Grey piece of I don't know what. It was in irregular shaped chunks. Hard to describe. The tomato sauce on top was watery, THAT was no pizza sauce. This pizza was just disgusting. You can tell they didn't even finish fully cooking it. And yeah, this was some kind of frozen I don't know what that they just threw in the oven. Still had the plastic melted on top of it 🤢 we had to throw it away. Never ever will I ever come to this place again. They should be ashamed they sell such a bad quality pizza for such an expensive price. Do yourself a favor and never set foot in this place. You will be disappointed. 😡

First time here and I loved the food and drinks. Our waitress was so awesome, she was on it with everything she made our experience so much more chill and fun. She was constantly on top of things, never had to call her or.waive her down. Sadly I forgot her. Name but I told her she did and awesome job and she took.this pic.i will be back on my next.trip.

What a great, welcoming , friendly staff who is very eager to help seat you on the beautifully calming terrace. Starting with entering the location to paying the check...Great experience! Sam, our server couldn't have been any more attentive, fun, friendly and so helpful with suggestions not only for food ideas but also serving suggestions. Sam was an amazing professional as well since our drinks, including water, were always kept filled and all his suggestions were flavorful and since we advised him we were traveling, just right portion size. He made this first-timers experience much more enjoyable! Make your way there and hopefully find Sam to be your server !

I'm not impressed. It wasn't nasty but it wasn't good. The crust WAS nasty. We got the thin crust. It was very bizarre. There was a decent amount of Pepp on it. The cheese was bland as was the sauce. We wouldn't be back. Our server was knowledgeable tho.

I placed my order online at 12:45pm for curbside pick up at 6:20pm. It's 6:45pm and I am still waiting for my order. The curbside has a long line of cars so I am sitting in the 109 degree weather fir a pizza I should have been able to pick up by now. Not coming back here ever!

Up until 5 months ago, we had lived in the Chicago area our entire lives. Having now retired to the west valley of Phoenix, we miss familiar foods. Lou Malnati's has always been our number 1 choice for deep dish pizza. On this night, we took the LONG drive with friends to the Phoenix location. The restaurant is huge compared to any of the Chicago locations, and it's decorated in an upbeat, family-friendly decor. Our server was not really personable, but he did the job. The pizza...would it taste like the Chicago version we love? On this night, it did itself proud! There are LOTS of Chicago transplants in the greater Phoenix area and if they are smart they will expand westward in the valley so that we can all enjoy our hometown pizza again.

Delicious pizza the deep comes with a bit of a wait get some wings while you're waiting. Either way it's worth the wait.

First time Malnati's customer. Just my opinion, but the deep dish pizza was just average-tasting(it tasted bland). The mushrooms actually tasted like they came out of a can. And considering how much I paid for it($18 tax included for the small size that serves two) I probably won't return anytime soon. Not sure what all the rave reviews are about.

I purchased a deep dish pepperoni pizza but the crust was as thick as the toppings. They must have changed their recipe because the edge of the crust was not cheesy. I had to search for the cheese. There was more sauce and crust than anything else. We were all very disappointed. Sadly it was not a Chicago style deep dish pizza. There was very little pepperoni on it. I would not recommend it to anyone. I'm sorry I told other people to go there.

Lou Malnati's Pizza is a chain out of Chicago. Because so many folks in Phoenix escaped Chicago winters, it makes sense they came to the Valley of the Sun. If you enjoy deep dish pies, this is THE place to go. The pizza takes some time, but you can enjoy the misted patio or some appetizers. They have a gluten free crust that takes a bit more time, but the quality of that crust is spot on. We've eaten here several times and often take a pizza home to freeze. We never tried desert as we were always too full!

I shouldn't have to explain why I love Lou malnati's pizza. Take out the fact that I'm from Chicago, take out the fact that they ship the water for the crust from Chicago to Arizona, and take out the fact that and is only thought to be deep dish. I've had their thin crust before and that's amazing, better than most New York style pizzas that I've even had. Now since I am a man and from Chicago I love their deep dish and you can't go wrong with whatever you order. Just don't put fruit on your pizza because that's weird. 🍍+ 🍕 = 👎🚫🙅‍♂️⛔😒

The food was delicious. The pizza takes a while because it is made to order, but the pizza was delicious and the appetizers were really good. Our order was mixed up but the manager was kind enough to comp the meal and throw in an extra appetizer and dessert.

I had big hopes for this place since it had such great reviews but let me start off by saying how nasty and unsanitary their dishes were. Our server looked completely miserable and my husband had to constantly ask him for refills. The pizza was a big disappointment! It was bland and the crust had a weird crummy texture to it. The only decent dish was our appetizer which was the fried calamari. Overall it was a bad experience. Definitely not coming back!

Saw the company truck while driving on the freeway and came to check out the "legendary" pizza. Deep dish is the way to go! A small pizza is more than enough for 2 people. The way the deep dish is made is unique and comes out so delicious and very filling! We had a choice to dine outside or inside. The server will serve you your first slice, which was also different. Between 3 people who have big appetites, we had 1 medium and 1 small deep dish with leftovers. Wheelchair accessible with a lot of room to get around. Definitely a pleasant place and comfortable atmosphere. We made a great choice to stop by!

I ordered delivery to my hotel and was later notified by a delivery service that my order was canceled. I called the restaurant, and they investigated what happened and remedied the situation immediately. My pizza arrived fresh and delicious. I have seriously never had a pizza like it. The toppings are the stars of this pie.

Absolutely amazing! There bruschetta is the best I've had in years and the butter crust deep dish definitely lives up to its reputation. It takes a bit for the pizza (which is always expected when ordering deep dish) but it is so worth it!

I loved it. The crust wasn't your thick deep dish crust you think of. It was absolutely delicious with all the veggie toppings of the "Lou's" pizza. The atmosphere was well enjoyed outside with the heaters at night. We really enjoyed it. 2, 29 year old girls got the servers 2. 2 slices for each of us. Perfect.

Do not expect to be greeted with a smile. Hostess are young girls who want to make up their own rules without regard to encouraging patronage during a very unstable time for restaurant industry. I arrived at 8pm for a single glass of wine and entered through the front door. I left at 8:35 to run to my car for additional cash for tip (the money in my pocket only covered the drink). I wasn't allowed back in through the front door at 8:37pm that I had entered at 8pm and exited at 8:35pm. It was declared exit only within the two minutes I ran to the car. I explained I was just grabbing cash to tip bar tender - mind you there were less than 8 people at bar or patio combined. She was very rude, aggressive and almost militant. So I left saying please let bartender know you cost her a tip!

I always love Lou’s. The staff is always friendly and my food is always great. I love the classic deep dish and the buffalo wings. The only thing I don’t recommend are the mixed drinks from the bar, my drinks have never turned out very good. A cold beer or something is a much better option.

I came here as a spur of the moment after shopping next to ajs. Wanted to cook my own pizza at home and so I simply asked if it were possible to have my own dough and sauce so I could make it at home. They said it would be no problem and asked how much I wanted. I asked for a half pound and they came outside to charge me (because of covid guidlines) when they came out to give me my order, they had given me 5pounds of dough and charged me 25dollars! I didn't realize this until i got home as i just recieved a bag. I dont know if youve ever worked with 5 pounds of pizza dough but it is an absurd amount, i had to throw most of it away. I figured an honest mistake so I emailed them through their website and let them know I felt that i was overcharged for uncooked pizza dough and given over 10x the amount of dough I asked for. No answer after an entire week so now I feel the need to publicly make my review. First time ever eating from Lou Malnati's and unfortunately it was one of the worst experiences with a pizza place. I get better service if an order goes wrong from a dominos than here. No worries if something is wrong with an order, mistakes happen but at least make it right. Changing my review because i was contacted by a member of LMP and they gave me a gift cert for the price of what I originally paid.

Lou Malnati's Pizzeria has the best deep dish Pizza in the city! If you go there and don't order the deep dish you were mis-informed about what to eat. Good to order and take home, or eat there. The atmosphere is a little off inside the restaurant...the tables aren't set up to match the unique art and paint on the wall, they could have a better set up...BUT the pizza more than makes up for it! Who cares how you sit when the food is that GOOD!

What a wonderful restaurant! The pizza and pasta were delicious. Besides, the crust, sauces, and methods of cooking were impressive and satisfying. Honestly, my husband and I greatly loved this restaurant, so we visit here from time to time. Also, the place was clean, perfect for a date, and stylish. Others must come!

The Malnati Salad is heaven!! Love the great open space and that covid protocols are in place. Great family friendly venue. And of course the pizza is beyond amazing!!

Pizza is amazing! Recommend the Malnati Chicago Classic. You can also get crustless pizza. Only disappointment was the small size of the personal pizza. Usually I get a large and it's perfect for 3 people but the 3 personals I ordered cost more and were not as filling as two slices of a large. Still amazing flavor!

  • 2/5 Marlaina T. 3 years ago on Google
The thin crust pizza is not something I’d order again. It was flavorless and the crust was like cardboard. Maybe their deep dish is better. The staff were very helpful, however.

Great patio, decent service. Though, the pizza was a disaster. Coming from Chicago I know great deep dish and this was far from it. I got a personal size classic. There was literally no sausage on it and when I picked it up, the tomato sauce just slid right off in a sloppy mess. Never again.

A place to remind chicago, one of the best deep dish pizza in the valley, they only had one server and the service was kind of slow, maybe they can install some auto-service tablets at the entrance so you can save time with your 30 min preparation of your pizza

Host sat us below the "Say" in "Say Cheese" sign which gave our evening a fun red glow. We got beers on draft, breaded mushrooms, and a small deep dish pizza. The pizza is exactly as it is in Chicago. The was my bf's first deep dish experience and he loved it (we're from HI).

First time here and it was top tier. The decor and vibe: plays good relaxing music soft in a good variety mix (not cliche Italian either). The temperature in the room was comfortable. The decor us simple and classy. The lighting is a tad low for my taste though. Service: The staff are polite but not over friendly. Not a pro or a con. This establishment is busy and very popular (Of course. Look at the reviews). This is a "service" kinda place. They serve your salads and pizza on your plates and hand it to you when your food comes out. The buss staff is quick and clear and clean tables fast. Pizza: The thin crust is excellent. The crust is homemade and the sauce is great. The sauce isn't too intense and is a real tomato sauce. This is authentic Chicago pizza at its best. They do not skimp on the cheese. Small selection on topping options. Not good or bad. Sometimes less is more. The ranch dressing is homemade and to die for good. Dessert: individual size pizza cookie was NOT worth the money. It was a very small serving. The middle of the cookie was low and thin. They put a tiny amount of ice cream and whipped cream in the middle with two cherries on top. If you want a pizza cookie, go to Oreganos. Drinks: Nice size drink menu with a bar with a few beers on tap. 10/10 recommend.

Best Chicago style pizza and wings around. Our favorite is the cheese deep dish with butter crust and Buffa-Lou wings. If you order the sausage on your pizza and do not want a sausage patty under your sauce and cheese, make sure to ask for sausage crumbles. Their Italian beef sandwich is also delicious. Service is excellent. We have visited often enough in the last 3 years that we know several servers by name.

Started with some boneless chicken wings that were garlic parmesan but there was barely any parmesan to be found, the breading of the wings was so hard it made my teeth hurt. Little did we know this was a prelude of things to come. We ordered the “classic” deep dish pizza and the dough was undercooked and tastes like raw dough. You could see the bottom was all soggy and pale too. Our server was pretty good until he brought the check and slammed that bad boy on the table. Was very excited to try the place but ended up being very disappointed.

First off, NOT child friendly if your kiddo is in diapers. I had to change my 16 month old while she was standing on the floor in the bathroom because there’s no table, bench, or changing table. Second, I ordered the ravioli which arrived just short of cold and the pasta was hard like it had been left on the counter or was just decently undercooked. Good things: Everyone else seemed to enjoy their pizza and they allow dogs on the patio.

Pizza doesn't disappoint! Sauce-delicious, crust-delicious, toppings-delicious! Bruschetta appetizer was good too, but the pizza was the star of the show. Very much recommend.

As a native Chicagoan I was excited reading some of the reviews. I specifically picked this location since it had the best reviews. Ordered the family deal plus mozzarella sticks. The wings were okay. Not bad, not great. Mozzarella sticks are known for their “cheese pull” this cheese was not melted AT ALL. It was a brick of cheese as if not even cooked. The deep dish pizza is in no way shape or form deep dish pizza. It felt disrespectful to Chicago to even call it such. Flavor was lacking and the dough was not great crunchy and i ordered the buttery crust and couldnt tell it was buttered. It definitely wasnt as thick as true deep dish either.

Ask for IN-HOUSE DRIVER when ordering Lou's. Our meal was delivered safely and prompt by Steve who works at Lou's at the uptown location. Steve is the man and takes care of his customers.
