My wife and I both made appointments to see a dermatologist. Without notifying us they scheduled and billed us to see a General Practitioner which wasted our time. It was explained when the appointments were made that our insurance doesn’t require a GP visit first. They ignored this fact and have since sent us to collections. Beware of these shady practices if you dare to visit this facility.

Great doctors, very helpful, my only issue I feel like they have way to many clients but not enough staff. Every time I call them no matter the day or time there will be a wait. Also sometimes hard to see me doctor because she books up so quickly. Wish they would have a hiring event and beef up staff

Every employee I have spoken to has given me different, conflicting information - confusing themselves and wasting my time. I don't know which healthcare providers are good, but I don't recommend coming here.

I made an appointment for this location to see Dr. Germaine, however they canceled my appointment without even advising me that my appointment was canceled. After driving to the location to see the doctor for my appointment that is when I was advised that my appointment was canceled, after asking why my appointment was canceled without my knowledge no one could explain to me what happened, and was advised that they couldn't get me in to see the doctor before March 24th. How are patients supposed to build a doctor patient relationship when we can't even trust you to keep an appointment that was booked in advanced? This is people's health that you are playing with, this is so very disappointing, unethical and unprofessional..

Switched my GP from Banner/Mesa to Banner/Desert Ridge due to 40 mile one way travel distance. Excellent decision. Front office staff knowledgedable and efficient, quick check in. Cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Ekunwe or her assistant Rachel. Fail to understand any negative reviews at this writing.

I had an appointment today at 7am, i live pretty far from this facility but just found a new doctor and liked her and her nurse. I have been at this one 3x's. The first time the front desk was extremely rude about me not seeing the desk up front and proceeded to have an nasty tone about not checking in with her to check in regards to covid.(there was alot of people standing around and just didn't see it) 2nd time i was scheduled for Lab work. I was told the lady was stuck in traffic and would be here soon. Ended up showing up about 15 min late. No apologies from staff. The ladies that was late was complaining about schedule changes and wasn't happy about having to come in. Today I gave myself 15 extra min to make it there on time. Due to heavy traffic with the school, the road was blocked. When i got there the lady checking me in stated that my time was almost over, i tried explaining that i was stuck in traffic, she was very rude and short. She said she would have to check with the doctor to see if she could see me. She had come back stating that i could wait for a cancellation but that wont happen. Asked if i would like to reschedule. They are customer service, they unfortunately have to see people sick, weak, and at their most venerable. So they need to be more considerate. To give attitude and be so demining, no thanks. I understand they book back to back. But sometimes traffic does happen and its not the fault of the patient. It is sad that this is the standard of customer care. I will find another place closer.

Dr. Wicklow is the best GP I have ever had. She is knowledgeable, caring, understanding and a great listener. I never feel rushed or as if I’m not important. Her medical care is A+++. I raved about her so much, my husband switched to her practice and feels the same. Thank you Dr. Wicklow for your excellent service under very trying times. I am finding these negative reviews baffling. First if you are over an hour late for your appointment, that’s on you. How do you know what the doctor has scheduled despite an empty parking lot? Second I know it took longer to respond on the patient portal. The office staff apologized and I was told there were 140 messages for the doctor to respond to besides seeing patients. Let’s be a little understanding that our health care providers have been stretched to the max during the pandemic. They are short staffed and constantly exposed to sick patients with a very contagious virus.

Not entirely sure if these people even care about you at the desert ridge location. I’ve been on a a specific medication for years, that results in withdrawal symptoms involving delirium & psychosis amongst other things, and asking for a refill is like talking to a wall. The last few months have been the worst. I’ll ask over and over, run out, and I’m still ignored. Leaving me sleepless nights and other symptoms due to being “left on read” and just tossed to the side. This isn’t the first time, I’m disgusted. Will never step foot into this facility again. I don’t care how busy you are or how many other patients you have. You don’t tell a patient to ask for their refills 7 days in advance & then ignore them

Extremely painful to try and call anyone at this facility, which you cannot. The phone tree is broken and doesn't work correctly. Also it goes to some central facility that has limited knowledge about the simple question you want to ask. Secondly you are placed into a queue for a very long wait, just to ask the simple question. I have encountered these problems repeatedly. Definitely wish I went somewhere else.

Absolutely the worst medical office I have ever used in 40 years. The nurse Gloria has no ability to remember minor details such as your name let alone relay information for a prescription refill. After over two weeks waiting for my prescription refill for meds I have used for the last 3 years. I called and spoke with her 3 times. She could never remember me, not even 15 minutes later. Numerous repeated trips to pharmacy required calls to office to correct the prescription. I was told I needed to make an appointment but could get my insulin and related meds. 7 days later, several requests to speak with a supervisor went unanswered, 4 requests and a voicemail to Office Mgr went unanswered. Finally a 5th request and refusal to speak with supervisor and I was able to get a call from Office Mgr, Ashley who claims she never received any requests. Credibility issues here. She promises to get it all corrected. Again, no such luck! Again Call to supervisor Kari, who promises to call me RIGHT BACK. knowing this is a probably a lie I gave her the chance to do so. 25 minutes later I had to call back and never speak to her or anyone in any position of responsibility. I did get to leave a voicemail for Ashley but if history repeats I will not hear from her. I overheard the office telling the pharmacy incorrect information about my prescription and also claiming they cant read my records. This office has NO concern for accuracy in your medical records, prescribing your medicines accurately or patient concerns as evidence by the repeated false claims a supervisor or office manager will return your call or that an assistant will correct prescription errors. This is the type of medical office which will kill you with their inability to properly record your medical information, prescribe medicines or promptly address your medical concerns. At this point so many inept people have been in my records i believe a HIPPA violation has occurred, a concern Ashley refused to even address in our one conversation. I certainly have concerns over the accuracy of my records at this point. I have asked for a patient advocate and that has also been ignored. The absolute worst medical office on all levels and I am only brushing the surface. And this was for meds I have been taking for 3 years. What would happen if it was new? EGADS!! Still trying to get a correct refill. It has been almost 3o days since the initial request and 10 days of almost daily requests.

Dr. Michael Germain is an outstanding physician. As a patient with complex medical issues, he takes the time to thoroughly explain everything. He is able to relate to me as a patient so that I feel very comfortable talking with him. I trust him and his assistant and know that I am in very good hands.

The doctors are great, however, every single visit they tell me my insurance isn't valid, even though the card is current. Every. Single. Time. Then I have to spend additional time on the phone getting it fixed. Great care but be prepared to do more work than you need to.

The front desk staff was good but not friendly. The two nurses assistants that I saw first were amazing. Apologized for wait and did all the pre- appt. necessities with care and kindness. Dr. Steele was great! He explained everything and answered questions thoroughly. He injected my cortisone shot with care and agility. Thank you all!!

I love the idea of this facility and staff is nice but good luck trying to get hold of anyone and actually getting the dr. staff to respond back to you when you need them. You get results and you will wait 3-4 weeks for them to be reviewed or maybe not at all. Whether you call or email, no one bothers responding and your requests get into this black hole of not giving a .02 about you or your issue. If the staff is over worked and they have too many patients, maybe they should stop taking in more people. The ones that are being seen can't get the care they need.

This care facility is awesome. The staff, the doctors, the labs, and the x-rays are all outstanding. Everyone takes the time to make you feel welcome and cared for. They listen to your questions attentively, and help you get the care that you need by setting up appointments with additional providers if needed. I like that the labs and x-rays are part of this facility and not open to outside patients but specifically for patients at this facility. It sure does make a difference not having to travel to another facility to get blood draws or x-rays.. I think Banner Health Center goes above and beyond with this facility and while I can’t measure it up against their other facilities because I don’t have that experience, I think on a whole, Banner health treats you like a human being, and not just a patient.

Dr Andrea Goldberg is the best! She is extremely thorough every time I see her. She keeps me up to date with vaccines and always has good ideas to help with whatever issue I am having.

After commuting almost 40 minutes to my appointment and arriving within the 15 minute grace period, the doctor said she “was running behind and didn’t want to see me anymore that I needed to reschedule” no phone call, no heads up that they wouldn’t honor the 15 minute grace period. I work 6 days a week, worked until almost 4 AM the previous evening, waited 3 weeks for this appointment for them to cancel it because they didn’t want to provide service or do their job on a Saturday. Absolutely ridiculous. No communication from the office whatsoever either! Waste of my time and shows the lack of dedication to patient care from the facility.

Dr Michael Germain is a superb internist and primary care physician affiliated with Banner Health at the Desert ridge campus. He’s up-to-date on men’s health medical advances. He listens well, does a thorough exam, carefully reviews lab results, and lets me know he received letters from specialists involved in my care. He sums up the visits by reassuring me of my good health status, encourages me to keep up healthy lifestyle, and coaches me on early detection of health issues common for people my age. I leave the office feeling like a VP patient-confident that I am well taken care of and we’ll informed.

Every PCP that I have had at this location have been amazing. Everyone needs to retire at some point in life, yes including Doctor's but when they touch your heart and soul with their hands it's an amazing experience!!

A beautiful facility with excellent staff focused on being very pleasant and highly competent at getting all my preop clearance needs met for an upcoming surgery. I had a wellness exam, lab work, chest X-ray and ekg all done at the same facility with minimal wait times. All the appointments only took one hour. I received text confirmations and reminders and messaging from the staff about medication refills and results and message within the patient portal. Very professional!

I can't speak for the other reviewer here, but I have had overwhelmingly positive experiences here with doctors, PACs, NPs, and all other staff. The only issues I've had are an appointment being canceled, but that wasn't really their fault and an odd situation where I was sent for an MRI and even though it was a Banner facility, I was charged excessively for it.

My PCP (Dr. Andrea Goldberg) is very thorough, professional & caring in providing medical care. Also, Medical Assistant (Alejandra) was very courteous in dealing with me. I'm gratefully blessed to have my medical needs provided by very proficient, professional & patient-caring staff.

While the doctors and front staff are nice. The call center provides you with wrong information and does not communicate with the actual health care facility. They neglected to tell us the cost of just meeting with a doctor which was an outrageous charge of $700. Just for speaking with the doctor. The call center refused to allow me to book a new patient physical, but when I got to the facility they told me after our appointment I should have been able to so. I didn't appreciate the lack of knowledge and communication and neglecting to warn us of the price just for a meeting.

First visit: I saw Laura Hellenthal, NP. I told her I needed a person who could manage all my health issues and keep an eye on the normal things that get missed as I already have 20+ specialists, plus manage any referrals I needed. She took in my very complicated medical problems - and my very long list of meds, allergies, medical conditions, surgeries - without missing a beat. She handled all my concerns, referrals, etc, plus several more things I hadn't thought of. She was considerate, thorough, knowledgeable and personable in quick fashion without losing compassion. I loved her! If I could give her more stars, I would.

Dr.Mercer and her staff are helpful and caring. They recommend specialists if needed and follow up as needed. Dr. Mercer reads her messages from the portal on a timely basis for non emergency issues. She is knowledgeable from pediatrics through geriatrics. I absolutely recommend her for your family. My entire family are patients of hers.

Have known Dr Mengesha for many, many years. he gives solid advice and recommendations. As an example, even during the pandemic, when he was extremely busy, and my wife was in the hospital he took time to see me on a Saturday morning, found a hernia, and referred to care. Normal for him! I thank God for him, he serves Him and all well! Richard Dungan

They just plain care for you, like family. I truly appreciate the quality of care I receive, from the receptionist, to the nurse Stephen and my Dr. D. Wicklow M.D. Thank you. It's a new building,so everything is still so fresh & super clean. They're able to offer more services, like lab & x-ray and even a medi-spa.

This facility is very new, having opened only this year. It is clean, well designed, and very well equipped. I've seen two doctors here, one I rate 5 stars and one 4.5 stars. My only problem with Banner is that their billing practices are excessively complicated, opaque, and indistinguishable from fraud. Sadly, this seems to be the norm for medical billing in large institutions. I don't blame the doctors and medical staff for this.

  • 5/5 Kaz A. 6 years ago on Google
Spacious and modern, poised to provide comprehensive care. 15 miles farther for me than their last office, but I will follow Danielle Wicklow, M.D. and staff to the ends of the earth! Seriously!

Do not use the Desert Ridge location. Other offices and labs in the city will tell you the same. The front staff is rude, incompetent and dishonest. I can't count the number of dangerous errors and lies they have made when making appointments, relating doctor's advice or with follow up care. The doctors may or may not be great...you will never know because the staff destroys the process. We have tried to work with this office for 7 months and it was a waste of time.

  • 5/5 Janet r W. 4 years ago on Google
Yes! Banner Health at Desert Ridge is fantastic! Dr Goldberg, my primary care physician, and all her associates, including the office staff are friendly, warm, caring, and efficient. There has never been a time I could not get in to see a doctor, or other medical personnel, even when Dr. Goldberg is not there, and within the same day, or next day. This place is brand new and sparkling clean. Waiting times are very reasonable, and often short. There have been times the doctors have conferred with each other to determine the best course of action for my particular issues. I'm very grateful. They are equipped with their own lab. which is for their patients only, and makes testing so much easier. The online service works well, and all my concerns, questions, and referrals, have been addressed and provided within a few hours by my doctor. Since I am 80 years old, and in a wheelchair, this facility has given me a real sense of security regarding my medical needs. Thank you! Keep up the good work!

Beautiful campus located in a scenic pocket of northern Phoenix, I was impressed with the staff and their manner. I came in after experiencing persistent heartburn for the first time in my life, and a resulting panic attack from the symptoms. While my visit was a simple "take Prilosec for a month", it was still conducted with care and empathy.

Recently saw NP Jessica Curtis for Televisit and received excellent care. Visit was scheduled quickly and was able to do Televisit due to condition. All follow up with lab/results, prescription, and follow up was excellent. Excellent Recommendations for healing and was well following all suggested treatments. Thank you so much to Jessica Curtis, NP assistant Oscar, and Allyson Duda, NP. Also had a prior visit recently at this location and treatment was excellent.

The lady upfront kept telling me I had to have an appointment does not say that on their website drove from Paradise Valley all the way to this location because it was the only one open at this time and I was unable to get seen because they need an appointment which their website fails to provide. They also only have one provider on Saturdays which I really did not understand. Thanks to Next Care for being so convenient and got me in immediately with no hesitation. Makes sense why your rating is low because the lack of information provided on your website and the quality of service your banner workers provide.

  • 1/5 Bennet D. 1 year ago on Google
This is not a comment on the providers who based on reviews look excellent. This is a comment on management. I am a healthcare provider trying to communicate with one of my patient's primary care provider at this facility and the management team at the facility has made it unacceptably difficult. I started by being put on hold for 15 minutes just to get the operator even though I hit option six in the phone tree, which is for medical providers who want to communicate. Coordination of care is everything in getting good health outcomes and controlling cost in our health system and there is quite a bit of room for improvement at this facility.

The staff here is great. Very respectful of my time, helpful, and so quick to get me seen. They actually called me back before I had completed my paperwork. When does that ever happen! Most importantly, Sarah Sarandos FNP is a wonderful primary care physician. She is so professional, knowledgeable, respectful, and kind. I will not be seeing any other primary physicians as long as Sarah stays in the area. Highly recommend!

My Doctor, Dr. Germain, is a Great Internist...He Listens and Works with You, which is a Priority for understanding you and your Issues, which not many Dr.s do anymore. He has a Depth of Knowledge that is again at Your disposal, Never does He make you feel rushed and that combo puts you at ease when dealing with...let's face it...uncomfortable issues and that is absolutely Priceless in a Doctor. Communication is Tops when it comes to figuring out your Problems and Listening is Vital and that's what Dr. Germain, among So many other things, does extremely Well ; )
