Good little hike. Went up the wrong way! Going counterclockwise forced you to traipse up a broken down old roadway, covered in cracked road surface and broken rocks. That's a long hike, too! At the top, lots of radio towers and a dangerous ledge, but, plus, a little seating on rocks. Not bad at all.

There are some steep hills and rough terrain along with a couple of territorial roadrunners! 😂 Had to "off-road a bit coming from a parking lot that CLAIMED there was a trail, but the trailblazing our own trail was fun. I am from AZ, so knowing what to expect helps in navigating, so does having a great partner to go with!

I love this mountain trail. I come here often. I enjoy the beautiful mountainveiw. The trails are intermediate. I do recommend you wear good supporting shoes. The trail is very rocky.. but it's a great place to escape from the city. I recommend you take a stop at the ladies' room before you go for a hike. A few bike riders every now and then do share the trail, but everyone has been friendly for the most part.

Did a three mile hike with my daughter on Thanksgiving morning to the top to give Thanks. There are several trails of different levels of difficulty. Bikes & dogs on the trail as well. Beautiful views

Outstanding hike/trek, although very rocky/gravel(ly)? trails. And, of course, the views are spectacular, all the way to downtown Phoenix, the airport, Tempe , Mesa and beyond to Apache Junction. Also southward to South Mountain and west to State Stadium. Great place for many trail runners and bikers (bicycling, not motorized ) Also horses frequent the trails. And lastly, but absolutely magnificently, is the awesome wildlife; As for myself, first time seen a fox, extremely quick and nimble scurrying up the edges of the rocks, with its extremely long bushy tail. And most certainly agree with other reviewers, people are extremely friendly. Hey, Happy Trails

The views are worth every step. This is a special mountain to me. At the behind last year (2021) my girlfriend and I went here and this year to seal the year of our relationship we went the other way. Let me tell you it was tougher the other way

We loved this hike! 👌 A little challenging for the not so experienced hiker (although my 6 yr old handled it like a champ), well worth the climb once you get to the top and get to check out what's left of the old restaurant. Great workout for the legs and beautiful views of Phx all around!

Amazing views and can be easy or hard depending on the trail. Just like most mountains no designated parking just streets

Gorgeous hike. Did the 306, stated accurately moderate to difficult. Mainly moderate though. The desert is very green with all the rain we've had. Really enjoyed the day.

Trail 306 is one of my favorites. It's free, a nice workout & beautiful views. I like connecting from North Mountain's visitor center & taking the trail, starts flat but then you get great inclines. I love it!
