Consistency is key I’ve been to the Prescott location several times and they are always worth the trip. I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when they announced a new location in the heart of phoenix. I can’t say enough good things about this venue. Always always order the flight. They have so many options and different pairings you’ll want to have a sip of everything. Never never shy away from one of their amazing boards. The quality that the food is served with has never disappointed me. My girls and I snuggled up to the bar. Shoutout to whomever picked out the bar stools they were so comfy. We ordered their brunch board and I don’t think there was a single item we didn’t eat. My only desire if anyone with any power is reading this please message me when you get your Strawberry mead back. I always miss the opportunity to purchase a bottle. Matter fact just place 3 to the side for me and I’ll come pick them up

I've wanted to eat here for months, and it was everything I hoped it'd be! First of all, to access the restaurant: note that it's on a divided street, so you need to drive westbound to access the driveway to the parking lot. Parking is limited, too. Service was spectacular. We shared a mead flight; we had definite favorites (strawberry sunrise and Tahitian honeymoon) but everything was tasty. We then extensively sampled the tapas menu. EVERYTHING was delicious. The cooks here know their stuff! We capped off the meal with a mead-poached pear, which was light, sweet, and oh-so-good.

Amazing! This is a super cool space, very natural with a live edge bar, wood accents and exposed brick. Very friendly staff who are also informative. The mead is the best of the best. They do have a food but when we got in it was just in time for last call and the kitchen was already closed. It smells amazing though, we will be back to try the fare.

I've been to their location in Prescott and I was excited when I saw they were opening a location in Phoenix. Just got a chance to pop in today and WOW. THIS. PLACE. IS. BEAUTIFUL. Seriously the decor here is next level. It is upscale and classy without being stuffy. It's got an open and inviting atmosphere and everything from the art to fixtures are just breathtaking. I only have time to grab one little glass of mead but it was absolutely to die for. My bartender was amazingly helpful and provided good conversation. I will definitely be coming back soon.

Originally discovered this place on Groupon where I purchased a tasting of 12 mead samples. This sampling was an amazing assortment of flavors I have never tasted before. Bartender was very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. We ordered the charcuterie board and the poblano steak sandwich, again I was not disappointed! The chief knows how to cook! I will definitely come here again.

Atmosphere, decor, and service were great We came for brunch, we were greeted seated immediately. We ordered 3 sets of the mead flight, some were good and other not so much. The food needs a little work. Everything was just okay. We got the baos, which were not nearly as good as you would get it from other places, yet they were more expensive here. We tried to order the burgers, but we were told they were out and not available that day. The 2 tables that came in after us were able to order the burgers (not sure if our waiter had the most updated info).

Stellar mead, but lackluster food. DRINKS: I cannot emphasize how delightful the mead is. The flights are a great way to expose yourself to different meads and refine your preferences. I’ve been here on several occasions, and there’s always something new to try. Each mead is truly its own unique flavor experience. MAINS: With that being said, the food is lacking. I’ve tried 3 main courses on 3 different occasions: the bao trio, hangover arepas, and beeline cheeseburger. Out of the three, the cheeseburger was the best tasting, but that’s not saying much. The buns were crumbly and dry, which detracted from the overall taste. For the cost, I would’ve expected better. In fact, I’d bet on a fast food joint’s burger winning over Superstition’s any day. And as someone who is both Asian and Latina, the bao and arepas were not only inauthentic, but just not good. Personally, in the future I would rather grab food elsewhere than eat here. APPETIZERS: You can’t go wrong with their more classic sides, like fries and onion rings. They won’t blow your socks off, but the do the trick. However, I’d stray away from their bruschetta boards or mac n cheese. The bruschetta was composed of thick slices of bread, with very little spread, making each bite a dry, unflavorful, and unsatisfying filling experience. On another note, the mac n cheese was soupy. And any hint of cheese flavor was overpowered by other ingredients. Overall, I’d stick to the sides over appetizers. SERVICE: Out of the three times I’ve visited, I’ve had a range of experiences. Two were extremely positive, but one was particularly bad. In that instance, the waitress inattentive (despite the meadery being largely empty) and made sarcastic and condescending remarks. I’d say the service is mostly good but can be a hit-or-miss.

Met friends for some day drinking. We ate a few different tapas, lots of samples of mead and amazing desserts. So much to like including our amazing server, Marcos. Can't wait to go back. Quick note when buying in the shop...it auto adds a tip, which is easily missed after a few drinks. Lol. Not a big deal, in the end. Can't wait to go back.

This is THE place to go for an amazing mead experience. I’ve never seen so many varieties on a menu. We shared the 24 mead flight and still just scratched the surface of the options. It was amazing how much variety there was and how strong the different flavors were. The food was delicious but slightly overpriced for what it is. The desserts were fantastic. I’d recommend visiting for the mead and desserts but get dinner at another great eatery nearby. Keep up the great work on the amazing mead!

Beyond wow 👌 this place is beautiful. Staff were exceptional and friendly! Kauner was my server today and he is amazing. I tried out the preset flight of 12, 5-Spice-Tofu entree and maize and pepita tofu. This is a good place for date night 🌙. The food was perfectly delicious. The mead worthy of high praise. I'll be coming back 💯!!

We got the charcuterie board, Ahi tartare, rubbed skirt steak and the roasted beet nigiri and it was all absolutely amazing. Only one picture since we ate all the rest right away. Amanda was an awesome waitress too, very sweet and knowledgeable. We will 10000% be back! The superstition flight was also really good and also gets you to try a bunch of meads you might not have thought to try. Definitely check this place out! Beautiful inside as well!

Been here twice with my wife in less than a week. Brought a friend with us the second time. It's great food, excellent mead, and the service is phenomenal. The flight of twelve is great to get a sense of what you like.

I took my significant other out for a Birthday celebration .. for 2 lol. The food was amazing! How ever the gazpacho soup was served on a shallow saucer! Either this is a genius move to make you buy more or maybe trying to be too fancy? I had to scrape my spoon along the plate to fill the spoon. The Gazpacho is very delicious I just wish it was served in a dish fit for a spoon. The veggie Boa buns are soooo yummy! Our server was wonderful and very attentive. The flight was great! We got the 12 sample one, I don't drink (was the DD too) I do like a sip of mead from time to time( manly at Renfest) there are some wonderful flavors we got to experience . The Peacher feature was sooooo good! Peanut butter Jelly crime is always a winner. They offer a wide selection of hops infused meads as well, ciders and Honey wines. All the other food we ordered was very tasty and we'll thought out. I love love that we are supporting a AZ business too! Over all great experience. It was like a slightly Booshie , Urban, farm to table vibe. You can dress up or go casual and not feel out of place. Keep up the awesomeness!

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit, Sat at the bar and ordered their 12 taste flight of Meads. While it didn't turn me into a 'mead guy' the Staff was extremely helpful and educated me on their many offerings. Their food was also fabulous, and actually the main reason I will return. Everything was fresh and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere is also very cool and makes for a great location to enjoy a night out in Phoenix with friends.

  • 4/5 Miranda “Mira” L. 2 years ago on Google
Great atmosphere for a small gathering. The wait time was extremely long for a table. This was my first time trying mead...some where better than others, not something I'd personally drink, however the options for flights to try many flavors was a plus. Food was pretty damn delicious, med-rare steak & lamb was damn near close to temp (steak closer to raw and lamb closer to med).. Overall great place if you enjoy mead.

Made a trip to Phoenix while visiting Tucson to see some of the local sights downtown. This place has been on my list to try for awhile and what an amazing place! Meads are usually to sweet for me but they have an amazing variety! The bartender was great and offered options on different selections. The food was delicious. I got the pecan salad and steak sandwich. There was so much flavor in every bite. All the staff were attentive and very welcoming. Anyone you came in contact with said hello. I will absolutely come back to visit this place again!

Although I’ve enjoyed their mead for years, this was my first visit to the Phoenix location. Pros: Incredible mead selection, the restaurant is gorgeous, food was delicious and staff were friendly. Cons: None of the staff wore masks (primary reason for 3 stars) and no other drink options. Mead is great but it was too sweet for one member of our party. It would be nice to have a couple local beers and/or wines so all members of a party can have a beverage that suits them, even if in cans instead of tap.

First of all, let's talk about Mesha. This waitress, which doesn't feel like a good enough title for her, was amazing. She was sweet, knowledgeable and endearing. I will forever be calling ahead to make sure she is working before I come back. And I will be back a lot. I have been to the meadery in Prescott and the service, knowledge and atmosphere was exceptional. But being from Phoenix I anxiously awaited the downtown Phoenix opening and I'm in love. So in love I bought 6 bottles. I love this place. Add a location in North Phoenix and you'll have a permanent resident in your establishment.

This place was gorgeous! Amazing mead, fancy dishes, and courteous staff. Definitely expensive, but nice for a night out or a date. We tried the flight of 12 (through Groupon) and the charcuterie board. Both were delightful. Great decor, too, and you can buy bottles of Mead and cider to take home or gift! If you're in the area, check it out.

Our dining experience here was amazing!! The vibe was right and the drinks were delicious. Our server went above and beyond explaining and suggesting mead and food choices. She was honestly one of the best servers I've had in a long time!! I will definitely be back.

A friend recommended this place to me. My wife and I went and loved it. Great selection of mead and the food is very tasty. Since the first visit, we have been back for more. Good place to take a date.

Fun space, totally quiet during lunch, parking in the back. Food was fun, though a little pricy. 3 mead flights were purchased but only one person enjoyed some of it. Baos were fun, tacos were good but fell apart so be prepared for messy. Bison meat was a little tougher so didn't go well with the taco as you were forced to tear the meat vs eating it during a bite. Cookies were served at the end...fun honey sugar cookie and right out of oven.

This place is awesome. You walk in and the vibe hits you as relaxed, cool and comfortable. The Meadery flight of 16 was great with such different flavors. The food was awesome. Great Bruchetta , skirt steak crustinis and cheese and meat board. Service was excellent!! Go here and experience it!

I stumbled across this place via google on the way to the airport at 2 pm. Ive never heard of mead and the great bartender was so polite, friendly, and suggested a flight. It sounded like alot but perfect for me trying everything. Although I didn't try the food (ate elsewhere prior to finding this place), the menu looked great. Highly recommend this place!.... after my initial post I had to edit my post. The bartender Megan was awesome. I ended up eating Pulpo Gallego and Crab cake... and one more drink ... what an awesome place.

  • 5/5 Dean W. 1 year ago on Google
Very cool environment, awesome, passionate staff. Two sided drink menu consisting of every kind of mead imaginable. I had the taco trio that was delicious.

  • 5/5 Sally G. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome extension of the Superstition Meadery in Prescott. The menu has very few vegetarian/vegan choices, but the kitchen team was able to adapt and accommodate the vegetarian in our group. A must try for thr meat eaters - the bison tacos and pork bao. Excellent selection of beverages - from dry to sweet you're sure to find something you will like.

Carson was my server, he was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and gave me and my wife wonderful recommendations for food and drinks. He was professional and had a great personality. Now down to the food and drink, we had the Butter Bison board, it was super good just wished there was more meat! Also ordered the fries, honestly some of the best fries we’ve had from a restaurant ever. Check the pics guys. I even bought a bottle of their silver medal winner mead.

Incredible dining experience!!! The space definitely gives an air of excellence fit for your mead drinking pleasures. Oh the food!! I was lucky enough to taste the lamb ribs and the sea bass. Delicious to a state of inner peace. Then they busted out the Pineapple upside down cake! So happy to have them in Phoenix. Incredible staff, shout outs to the cooks and our server Misha! Can't wait to be back.

This place is excellent! We had never had mead before but the bartender, Sarah, educated us on the the whole process. We did the flight which came with 10 types of mead. She walked us through the tastes of each one. They were great. We did half a charcuterie board which was still very large. My husband and I split it and it was more than enough for two people. We then split the rack of lamb which was very delicious. We were going to order several items off the tapas menu and do a little picnic dinner but learned they have half off their tapas items during happy hour, 3-6 Monday - Friday. We’re definitely going back for that! Highly recommended for a fun date night!!

  • 5/5 Mark H. 3 years ago on Google
First time visit but not the last. Great food and mead is AMAZING!

  • 5/5 Andrew W. 3 years ago on Google
Superstition Downtown is absolutely a very high level dining experience. Both the food and drink are top tier. The meads and ciders themselves are absolutely delicious and intriguing. Unless you know what you like already, definitely get a flight (there is a happy hour flight available as well) to try a variety. Some strong, some sweet, but all unique and delicious. The food is also amazing. The tapas are half priced for happy hour, so you can really get some nice deals if not stopping for a full meal. This is a fantastic and unique dining experience in Phoenix, and if you’re curious about checking it out, take this is a sign to do so!

This was my first stop, during my first time in Phoenix Arizona. Let me just say if I had to make my decision moving here after leaving here, (Superstition) I am packing my bags and heading to AZ from New York immediately. This was such a great first impression. John the manager was an excellent host, great conversation and made you feel so welcomed. The food was full of flavor, compliments to the chef! Now, MEAD! First time having it, but man let me tell you, this is one of the BEST TASTING DRINKING I ever had. Our waitress was wonderful and so helpful. Everything about this place was AMAZING. Take all your dates, wives to this place. Thank you to the staff and everyone at Superstition. You will definitely be seeing us again.

Amazing addition to the Downtown PHX food & drink scene. Start with a flight and some tapas (Pork Belly Bao Buns are a must!) and branch out from there as you figure what you like.

Food was great except I found a HAIR in my food and when I address it to the waitress they did not seem to care about it. The manager was too busy on her cellphone and didn’t even bother to do anything about the situation! Disgusting!

  • 5/5 Britt H. 3 years ago on Google
Outstanding! Good was amazing, the mead and cider I tried was delicious and my server, Sara C., was beyond friendly and accommodating with letting me change my flight order and fighting with an outdoor heater. The price was really reasonable for the amount and quality. Cannot wait to come back!

  • 5/5 Justin F. 3 years ago on Google
Incredible food, service, and mead. The food was phenomenal. I ordered one of the "Boards from the fire" and everything was perfect! Sara and Amanda were two of the best servers I think I've ever had. They were so nice and such a pleasure to talk with, and they knew the mead and had some amazing recommendations! And last but not least the mead was amazing. I'm a craft beer person who also loves wine and whiskey... Well, they had some mead brewed with hops that were awesome, as well as a couple bourbon barrel aged and wine barrel aged meads that we loved. This place alone makes me want to plan a trip back to Phoenix!

So happy there is a location in Phoenix. Beautiful place, the wait staff is super friendly and with spot on service. There is a mead selection for sale. The food is very good. We had tapas, and everything was delicious. The squid was really good and the Ukrainian cabbage rolls were great. They even let us bring our puppy to the outdoor patio. Give them a visit!

As a non-Arizonan, I heard about Superstition from a random YouTube video that came up a few weeks before a family trip to Phoenix for the holidays. I had drank mead a few times before, but was just excited to support a local business while traveling and the story seemed pretty cool. This location and the inside are pretty amazing. The space has a super hip vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food menu looked great, but we had a late lunch so we skipped out on eating here. We came midday and it was not super busy so sitting at the bar gave us a chance to talk to the staff and learn more about mead. The tasting menu is a great way to try a variety of meads, ciders, and wines that Superstition either makes themselves or partners with other brewers and distillers. It’s a great value as well with 12 pours running 24 bucks for 1oz pours. There are also individual pours for 2-4 dollars, which is a fantastic value to try a diverse part of their large menu. I will be honest that I didn’t love the vast majority of the meads because they were suppppppper sweet. Understand that mead is made from honey, but there is so much residual sugar after the fermenting process. The fruit flavors were really delicious and smelled amazing, but I couldn’t see myself drinking more than a few ounces. We did walk out with a few bottles and tried to buy some merch, but the merch was a bit limited in style and sizes. I wish that the art on the wall was available on their shirts. Check it out. Learn about mead. Maybe it’s for you.

By far one of the best Restaurants and mead bar I have ever been to! Every Mead I had was excellent and unique in their own ways. Nothing too over the top and everything was exceptional! The food could also hold its own. The entire experience was great and I would definitely make a trip to Phoenix just for this again. The staff was incredible, in particular Sara and Amanda were awesome. They were both extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They honestly made the trip!

A nice addition to dtphx. Mead by name, but quite the cider selection! Food is phenomenal, recommend the beef tartar and pulpo gallego! Both super tender.

I'm honestly can't recommend this place enough to enough people. My partner and I have been big fans of Superstition Mead for a good few years now, and would be frequenting this place, even if it was just for the mead. The mead is incredible. It really truly is. Beyond that, though, the food is also insanely good. Above and beyond expectations, it's genuinely one of the better restaurants I've been to for it's entirely reasonable price point. The food didn't need to be this good, given how much the mead could carry the experience, but it's wonderful that it is. This place is the whole package, and you need to check it out, whether you're looking for a good meal, or to experiment with some fascinating alcohol. You will not be disappointed.
