😠 If I could give a zero I would but I cannot so a one star it is. I have been to several hospitals and this one is by far the worst. The staff is terrible and rude. The bathrooms are not clean I felt like I was in a high school bathroom. And whoever runs the reception in the ER should get some manner... People often mention room, hours, patients, pain, waiting, staff, people, nurse, care, time,

If I could give a zero I would but I cannot so a one star it is. I have been to several hospitals and this one is by far the worst. The staff is terrible and rude. The bathrooms are not clean I felt like I was in a high school bathroom. And whoever runs the reception in the ER should get some manners. I was here with my dad waited 4 hours for someone to ask what he was in for.. mind you we were already on the back in a room , spoke to a nurse took vitals and all. Then 4 hours later they ask like we have not already told them. So basically they forgot about us. Then after finally 8 hours of being in the room with no end in sight, I ask if I can get some fresh air. As I was headed back inside the man at the front said I was not allowed back in. That my dad only gets on visitor and once I leave I can’t come back. I informed him I had no idea there are no signs and the previous nurse said I was fine as well as I am here with my dad, his one visitor. He said oh well. “Oh well” now does that sound like a proper response from someone who is supposed to be helpful in any shape or form I do not think so. I felt angry and disrespected.

How much staff is on duty? I've been in the emergency room for 5+ hours and have only seen 8 people called back. To add onto the extremely long wait more people are coming in and have to stand because they are out of chairs!! This is wild and someone needs to start reading these reviews and start making changes. My suggestions would be to get more staff on duty ASAP. Secondly, try to get the staff some motivation, I'm walking faster than them even while I'm ill.

WORST ER NATIONWIDE!!! After being called back, I was put in the “results waiting room” in the ER for 8 hours waiting for my medical results. (Another guy came in with the same problem and got an actual room where his spouse was able to go with him and he was discharged hours before me.) The “Result Waiting Room” (see pictures) was a small ER patient room they converted by putting 7 horrible seats that were falling apart in. There are multiple sick patients coming in and out. At one point 4 of us were in the room, but they put up to 7 in the small room. I felt inmates and animals are both treated better than this. I have a weakened immune system and this was not a safe setting for me. The seats were unconstitutionally uncomfortable (the chairs in the waiting room were better). Staff DID NOT come in once in the 8 hours to check on me or other patients. The room/chairs were not disinfected as patients left the entire 8 hours I was there. My spouse was not allowed into the room so I had absolutely no support. The seating caused external back pain to the point my back was twitching and my legs were going numb. I will never come back or recommend this ER! Seriously considering leaving the Banner Network all together. Staff was kind and agreed they did not like the “Result Waiting Room” process in the ER and did not agree with the process. It is set up just to make more money for the hospital and show they don’t care about patients health. I have great insurance, so that had nothing to do with why I was out in this room and I am sure they will bill my insurance for a ER room. (No one regardless of insurance should be treated this way!) Note: Due to privacy I did not include pictures of other patients. I did email the Banner Customer Care email they provided.

Operator Samantha gave me voice louder she misunderstood my sentences, if she doesn't get temper right away, she could understand well. I couldn't reach nurse station one time, so second time I called again, she gave me unprofessional treatment. just I wanted know about my husband is doing He got Emergency Room last night. She is not professional at all. I am so devastating there are no family this country only got my husband. But I got Operators temper, cause I am bothering her valuable time.

I used to love this hospital because it’s so close to our house. We went today and after almost 6 hours waiting we have to leave without been seen since they were still 8 people ahead of us. Service sucks even when my wife told them we were checking out a guy really rude said you have to sign here because you decide to leave without been seen. This is an emergency room and I can’t believe the wait is that long the most we waited before it was like 3 hours and that was from start to finish and with x-rays and all the exams.

I fully understand that patients need to be seen based on the severity of their condition so long wait times can’t be helped sometimes but what i can’t understand is why the staff is so curt and rude to the patients. You go into this field to help people and you go into it knowing how hectic it can get, the staff needs to learn compassion and patience. The last thing someone in pain/discomfort needs is an uncaring and rude health professional.

I came in as I have long COVID. The urgent care will no longer see me, and my doctor can not get me in. I’ve waited well over five hours and I’m still waiting. I’ve seen many other patients come and go while I’ve been sitting here.

This hospital breaks HIPAA laws and I would be surprised if they don’t have a lot of falls. I was given morphine standing up and left unattended on morphine and toradol in a small waiting room in the ER that probably had a patient bed previously. I was in the room with 5 other patients. The hospital lobby was not full. When I arrived there were like 4 patients in the lobby of the ER. My thought is they create the atmosphere that they are not too busy! It was packed in the uncomfortable little rooms. I would have preferred to stay outside in the lobby! I was in more pain when I left then when I came in due to a kidney stone! I found what is worst than a kidney stone! What is the worst pain than a kidney stone? Dealing with being on pain meds for kidney stones at Banner Estrella!

Very disappointed in staff in the Banner Estrella Emergency entry staff. Been a longtime user and staunch supporter of this hospital. Took an elderly man in with a G I bleed. Used their sign -in machine. Had parked in drop off lane because of wheel chair. Waited a 15 minutes to be called to registration. Not called so went and moved car. No parking spaces at all so parked in covered garage. When I got back they had called him he said. Has dementia so didn’t answer. Went up to lady and she asked guy doing registry if he was on list he said yes. He said sign in again. I did already. Waited 15 min and no call. I went up again and he said not on list. Reregister and start over………..I told him it was wrong of him and shame on him. A lady came out and said he had called 3 times each at 15 min. Really. Outside 15 minutes tops. Went to St Joes which was busier. Checked in and in room w/in 35 min. The attitude of this man sucked.

I literally Prefer my heart pain than to spend another 5 hours waiting for the slowest doctors and stuff in the world, like where did they get their degree. No lie I think they are learning as they go.

Terribly long ER wait of three and a half hours. The ED triage nurse was friendly and professional as was the PA who saw me. Unfortunately I spent a total of 6 hours in this hospital with no diagnosis. However, the PA did order thorough, appropriate labs and imaging. I'm an RN and work for Banner although I rarely tell healthcare professionals this. The poor professionalism I received by my discharge nurse, Victoria, was disheartening. She basically lied to me 3 different times saying they cannot fax a prescription order to the BEMC pharmacy, the Physician can't send the script electronically to BEMC and claimed not to know if the pharmacy was still open. When I asked her to ask the physician, second time, she huffed and said she would see. She came back within minutes to inform me the PA did in fact send it electronically and begrudginlgy wheeled me to the pharmacy (l came in with bilateral extremity pain and edema). I have never treated a patient poorly even on my worst day of codes, getting cussed out by patients, working over 12 hour shift. People are in the ED because they need Healthcare assistance, not attitudes for no apparent reason.

I recently had to go, I was taken by ambulance, I passed out at a store, don't believe it was heat, could because I've been having blood sugar issues, super low like in the 40's could have been something else, but how would they know, short story, they took blood, urine and a ct scan, those viles of blood and that cup of urine stated on the table the whole time, they did not take it for testing, and after the ct they said they could find anything wrong, and released me, does anyone else see the problem with that? Yeah that should be negligence, js!!

Worst experience ever this time at Banner. I got horrible care and had to sit in rooms, never given a private. Sat in chairs out in lobby for 5.5 hours, then in a room for 20 minutes, then another room for blood work, then put in another room, then taken for ct scan, and put back in room again and one kore time to a different room to be discharged with no diagnosis, no instructions, and meds I didn't even know what to do with. Over all, between waiting room until discharge I was there for 9 hours, sitting. No beds, blankets, privacy, nothing. Would not recommend going there anytime soon.

First off I didn't want to believe the reviews were that bad and I have been to the hospital before. After waiting eight hours last night and still had over six people in front of me time was and more ahead of ahead of me for other reasons, I left. The staff was polite when dealing with and people I interacted with behind the doors were nice. This was the first time in ten years needing to use the emergency room near Avondale AZ, do your research beforehand and look around now for your options.

Worst emergency room i have ever been in. Horrible service. And after i paid 700 just so my wife could be seen and ignored. Was charged another 400 for no reason. They literally did nothing but just bandage up a small cut. Horrible. Nurses literally left us in the room for hours while they sat around and gossip while the place was empty. Avoid this place at all cost. Waiting room was full and exam rooms empty. I would rather get treatment in a third world country. Which i have and it was way better. This place needs to be shutdown.

I unfortunately have to leave a star in order to leave a review.. so they get one star.. I went into the ER the other night because I was having issues breathing and my chest was tight.. we did a CT, turns out I have a few enlarged organs, such as my heart and spleen... THEY SENT ME HOME!!! Bare in mind, I am still having difficulty breathing. I waited 5 1/2 hours to get into a room.. only for the doc to walk in and go "you're perfectly fine.." 😭🤦 never again will I go here

You start in a room to move to another series of rooms full of people and you have no freaking clue what they’re suffering from or contagious with, they do your labs and other stuff throughout the building to go back to that room full of random people. They say it’s faster but it was just uncomfortable, invasive, and weird. Oh, and they refused to let me keep my newborn there knowing I mentioned she was EXCLUSIVELY breastfed. Kicked her out.

I was sent by my PCP , due to high blood sugar. Consider high risk. I been waiting in the waiting room for 3 hours. And they won't let u drink water to flush the BG,.so why have to wait three hours to help me lower my sugar count.

Horrible!! Without going into all the details I will say this.. The facility is disgusting! Fluid smear marks and blood visibly all over the walls and chairs. The rooms had a good 1 inch of dust on wall mounts, glove boxes and tvs. The nurse who removed my iv just threw my iv on the floor by our feet so she could wrap my arm and then picked it up, left the room and never came back to clean up the floor or sanatize. I walked in to an empty emergency room, had about a night total of 12 other patients that were seen in the unit I was in and it took 5 hrs to get a CT scan and another 2 hrs to get my results. After a 7 hr visit with my 8 yr old in tow I was released with a list of medications prescribed. It took another 7 hours for the rx to be filled! Thankfully I reviewed my rx before paying because I was prescribed medication NOT meant for women! Huge HIPPA issues as the doctor and PA was speaking with patients giving test results, lab Information and diagnosing in the room with other patients listening. My discharge paperwork states I was seen for abdominal pain when my reason for visist was back/kidney pain. In signing the discharge tablet I realized the staff had me signing documents for another patients chart! This was the worst medical "professional" ED I have ever expierenced. I will be filing ethical, sanitary, and HIPPA complaints!

This was a very unpleasant experience for me. I’m not one to rush to the ER but I was encouraged to. The new format of seeing patients is terrible!! At first it seems nice, yes, I got called back quickly. But then it was a hurry up and wait. I was separated from my husband. He was not allowed to stay with me. No one was allowed to have anyone with them. The nice nurse at the beginning was just going to give me my IV and draw my blood in the hallway but luckily a room opened up for that. Then I was placed in a room with 4 other people waiting. I was not seen as a patient but just a $$ sign. I was not checked on, no one was checked on until it was time to be walked to have a test done. Patients with IV polls had to push their own around for all to see. The part that really made me upset was when a doctor came to deliver a diagnosis for the sick girl that was sitting across from me in a room full of 4 other people!!! 😳 I was at least pulled out into the hallway where a nurses assistant told me what my diagnosis was in front of everyone in the hallway… Not even a dr!! When it was time to get discharged (after sitting in a hard chair for 10 hours and had 4 different tests ran) the discharge nurse was going to walk in to send me on my way without the dr ever seeing me to explain what was going on and what came of the test results. I asked to speak with a dr and one walked in, she was a different one than who I saw at the beginning. She was very rude and gave me information as if she had just rehearsed for a school play. She did not care that I was a human being feeling way worse than when I first arrived. The nurses seem run down and beat up by this new format of seeing patients.

Worst ER experience of my life… Facility is unsanitary and understaffed. Go to Honor Health 15 minutes away. Too many details but 9 hours later I was discharged after: being stabbed by IVs, being peed on by another patient(!!), standing in the hallway for 30+ minutes until they cleaned the urine off the floor so I could sit, and dealing with the worst bedside manner. I will never come back here and I will tell everyone I care about to steer clear.

  • 1/5 AnnMarie D. 3 months ago on Google New
Staff was rude and did not care. Was in the waiting room for 3.5 hours, then it took another 4 hours before treatment. Was shuffled from chair to chair and never got to lay down. I was in pain and sitting just made it worse. I will never return to that ER again.

  • 1/5 Taco J. 7 months ago on Google
This is probably one of the worst ERs I’ve been too. So disorganized. I’ve never seen an er with no beds in the rooms and they often move you to holding rooms which you sit in for hours with no update. Only when I asked to leave because I am still having chest pain did I get an update. Nothing to actively treat you or show any concern. Bring in the medical field myself I’m always skeptical if hospitals and other facilities care and this ER has solidified why I don’t trust them. I will not be seeking care here again

I had a kidney stone! You can’t even lay down at Banner Estrella! The Dr told me that yes I probably passed one stone there is another one there! It is so high up there is no way I could feel it!!! I waited from 3pm and was sent home at 2am!! They were NOT busy!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE BANNER ESTRELLA TO NOBODY EVER!!

  • 1/5 Christina R. 7 months ago on Google
Don’t come here this place is ridiculous. They will have you waiting almost 24 hours before you see a doctor. They do not care about there patients you are just another number to them. I came because I had a strangled hernia I watched about 13 people go in front of me. I sat in the lobby in pain until it was empty then I received service.

  • 1/5 Melissa A. 3 months ago on Google New
"They beg and cry to come in for pain but then demand to go home," said the ER provider in the corridor loud enough for me and several other patient's to hear. I don't expect super quick service at an ER. It's meant for triage and assessment. I hate going to the ER. Even if I'm in pain because I know that they are understaffed or don't have enough beds. To hear that after forcing myself to go and being left alone for over an hour was incredibly disappointing and infuriating. If you need ER services done don't go here. My IV cap wasn't screwed on properly which had my arm leaking blood and saline which now has a nasty bruise. At one point we saw no one for two hours. My wife had asked a nurse for pain medication for me which the nurse said "ok I'll ask the provider". An hour later the nurse is going home and there was no follow up. We asked twice to please let us go home if the situation wasn't life threatening. We also werent the only ones asking to go home after being told we were fine per ER results. The imaging came back with everything normal per the provider. Ok. I need to follow up with my primary. I know it's not life threatening and hospitalization isn't necessary. Why in the world would one of the providers say something so heartless as if people willingly want to be in pain? Yes, I absolutely want to spend 8 hours in an ER on a Sunday. That sounds like so much fun. I absolutely love spending $1,000's to be told results came back good but wait they did find several cysts and fibroids per the scan I read at home.... which I was told nothing about.

The entire staff we interacted with were extremely friendly. The registration staff, the nurses, and Physician Assistant were all wonderful. Made my trip to the ER a pleasant experience considering no one wants to end up at the ER.

I had a great experience Sunday night May 2 2021 in the ER. Staff recognized my condition and expedited my entry (greatly appreciated!). John (EMT) checked my vitals and was very personable and calming. My doc was exceptional as well as my nurse and Sonia from registration. excellent experience overall, everyone was very attentive and kept a good eye on me. Everyone was also very friendly and empathetic. Kudos to your hospital and staff!

If I could give negative stars, I would. I'm currently in the waiting room for the ER because my boyfriend is having extreme pain in his neck and he has informed me that he has been in another waiting room in the back for over an hour with no help. They have him in a hard, plastic wheel chair when he has stated he cannot sit upright at the moment. Not a single person here cares, they all have attitude when you're concerned nobody has checked in. When we first arrived, I was impressed with how "fast" they were getting people back but it's just a facade because the patients just get put into another waiting room where they're family is not allowed to be. Do not go here if you have the choice. On top of that the first room that we were both let into only had a recliner but no bed and the room was dirty with scuff marks all over the wall and the white board in the room looked old and was old because it had the date Sunday October 15th, today is Saturday November 18th. I know healthcare is rough and they're probably short staffed but if you cannot/do not want to help people then do not go into the medical field. Again, if you have the choice do not go here.

Staff were friendly and efficient and the wait times were decent. Once I was taken back, the care was really good and my illness was addressed by a very knowledgeable provider. Its a little far from me, but will go here instead of the hospital right down the street.

  • 1/5 Marilu T. 7 months ago on Google
The ER department needs to improve on the way they conduct their assessments. A patient has to go to 3 different rooms; 1st vitals and questions about visit, 2nd room for IV and bloodwork. The 3rd one is the worst. Room 15, patients sit with other patients on hard chairs, very cold and no one checks on you. From that room I went to the last room where I sat and waited for the doctor. I was very dissatisfied with her assessment. She did not give anything for my dizziness or for my ear. I visited my primary 2 days later and received the medication that I needed. I had to go to the ER because my symptoms manifested on a holiday.

How do you call yourself an emergency room when you can’t handle emergencies?! Jesus, just look at all the reviews and we are not the first to experience the excruciatingly slow treatment at this ER. My wife is literally still waiting (going on 10 hours) with 7 people still ahead of her. This is not unique to this ER. Please, I urge you all, read this and find another ER like your life depends on it…cause it just might.

I was very surprised how dirty the waiting room was. The floor was dirty and there were dust bunnies under the chairs. Masks were not required. Patients were coughing. I was seen in a timely manner . Tests were completed in a ti.mely manner. Then I sat and waited five hours before talking to a dr. aadoctor about the results.

Waited 6+ hours for appendicitis symptoms, sat in the chair in the most pain I have ever felt in my life. I asked the front desk, said my symptoms were not severe enough so I was placed on the bottom of the list. Meanwhile I spoke with a doctor through video call and suggested I go to the ER and they would see me immediately. I also went to urgent care and she mentioned the moment I feel pain that I should go to the ER ASAP. I followed both their advice and all I was left with is being in pain sitting in a chair for 6+hrs with no one caring. Update it’s been 9hrs till we saw a doctor. Doctor is very nice and the nurse staff that treated me in the morning. So changing my ratings from one to 2 stars.

The service provide was not the issue with this location. The issue I have with them is with billing the insurance. They have sent three bills of $900, while failing to bill the insurance. I have gone back and forth with them about this. They claimed the claim was denied, yet the insurance says they never received a claim. When I said this to them the girl on the phone said, "Yes the claim was never sent. I am sending it now." So that is why I cannot recommend this location.

My husband was a patient at banner estrella for 14 days due to covid. He never received a shower or sponge bath. They changed his sheets only 1 time. He was able to move to a chair but they did nothing. It was like they stuck him in a room and just kept him fed and medicated. That's just plain mistreatment. They had full ppe. If I could do no stars I would.
