I called North Central Saturday afternoon for a sick 18 month old puppy. They didn’t have appointments or walk ins available which was disheartening. I had already called 4 other animal hospitals and they all said the same. The difference with North Central was the empathy shown by the woman that answered the phone. She understood my concern and stayed on the phone to share a number of other places, including the vet we ended up going to, rather than just sending us to an emergency vet. The puppy is recovering after a night at the animal hospital and it’s thanks to the kindness of whomever answered the phone Saturday afternoon.

I was very impressed with the care my bird received. It's difficult to find an avian doctor and I am thrilled to have found Dr. Frank and her team. They worked so cohesively that I wasn't worried about what was happening inside as I was constantly being informed on the progress being made. Every one at this clinic is absolutely wonderful and I love each of them ❤️ ❤️!! If anyone needs a GREAT DOCTOR for their fur babies please come here...you will not be disappointed! Love you girls!! This place rocks!

I drove from Albuquerque, New Mexico to see Dr. Frank. My parrot needed an annual check up and has an existing heart murmur. I needed a vet that knew her stuff and that’s exactly what I found in Dr. Frank and the entire staff. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful. Alex even sent a text the morning of our appointment to let us know that there were road closures at their location so we could plan our route with that knowledge. Who does that? I’ll tell you who…people that care about you and your family pets! My parrot is in good hands with North Central Animal Hospital. Priceless!!!

The 2 vets at this clinic are good clinicians. However they had NO respect for my compassionate decision to allow my parakeet with a badly broken leg, to be euthanized!!!! They both refused! No RESPECT toward me was given!!!!! I went to another vet that also treated birds the same day and received compassion, knowledge and total respect for my decision!! And also did not charge me the very HIGH fees of this clinic! Be aware!

Best animal hospital in AZ and so glad I found it. The facility is very well run, reasonable rates, and genuinely care about animals. I can’t express my gratitude enough for care they provided to my little princessa. I highly recommend facility to everyone.

This animal hospital has wonderful customer service. I was nervous about the visit due to it being curbside and my Apollo going in alone (he doesn't like people and will actively avoid them), but Apollo was a trooper. The staff at this hospital made Apollo feel comfortable and made me comfortable. The doctor made sure I knew where Apollo's injection sites were, and any side effects he might have from them. They treated Apollo not like an animal, but as his own being and I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. Your pet IS your family and North Central Animal Hospital understands that. Come to this animal hospital for your fur family needs; they know how to do it right.

I have a bunny and I adopted him back in 2018. I’ve always struggled to find a vet who would actually listen to my concerns without brushing things off. Bunnies are considered exotic pets and need specialized care/treatment. I felt that, until coming to North Central, only the bare minimum was being done for my bunny when I would take him for an annual check-in or even an emergency. Everyone working at North Central was really nice and friendly. The vet who saw my bunny, Dr. Thomas, and her vet tech. were SO thorough and knowledgeable. Both seemed to genuinely care about my bunny’s health and answered all of my questions in-depth. They not only listened to my concerns, but did their own analysis and walked me through the best plan of action to get my bunny back to 100% health - this is something no other practice has done for me, seriously. I plan to continue bringing my bunny, and future pets, to this vet and anyone else who has exotics should strongly consider them too.

If I could recommend this vet more, I would! The staff is down to earth, knowledgeable, experienced, helpful, and most of all they actually care for you and your animals! I've gone here for everything from checkups to hard goodbyes and the staff has handled everything with care and compassion. If you're looking for a new vet, I highly recommend this place!

They did great with my bunny who has an eye infection and seemed to know everything needed to help her. Everyone was very nice there however it did take a couple hours total for the visit. I was able to leave for awhile and come back which helped. You wait in the car unless there is an exam room open where you have to wear a mask. They do charge more than my usual vet but maybe because it was for a bunny. I have no idea whether the all the treatments and medicines (6) they did were reasonable and necessary but hopefully they work!

The staff were really nice and worked with my budget. The emergency fee was a $212 but my budgie came back in a more stable condition than when I had brought him so I don’t mind. They sent me home with food and medications and explained how to take the measurements correctly. Overall, staff were very friendly and made sure to contact me before any procedures were done.

I am very happy with the North Central Animal Hospital. They have clear communication about scheduling appointments and services they offer. Pricing and payments are fair and prepay is easy through their online portal. The vet tech and vet were down to earth and were patient with my crazy 6 month old puppy. Would highly recommend.

We had our first vet appt yesterday at North Central Animal Hospital. They took so much time with us and I never felt rushed. Both the nurse and doctor were very attentive and took time to answer all my questions. My puppy has an ear infection and they went over all of my options. I highly recommend!

This was my first visit here with my Boston terrier, Ivan. The facility was clean and they were ready for us before we even got there! Everyone was so kind, reassuring and informative- especially Megan, Lindsay, and Dr. Thomas! We have definitely found our new home vet!

Great Experience! The building was easy to find and there was numerous parking spaces. All the staff was kind, informative and great listeners. When asked for recommendations on different things, several options were given. After the visit there was great communication as well. Maybe the only improvement could be to have in house labs to get test results even faster.

Compassionate and knowledgeable staff and vet!. Very happy I found this clinic, they gave my cockatiel a thorough exam and gave me a lot of help with not only the issue that gave rise to the our current visit, but other long term problems.

Parakeets are masters at hiding illness, sometimes until it is too late. Thankfully, Dr Thomas and her staff were there to care for our little guy. We are so encouraged by the improvement we've seen in the last couple of days. He is almost back to being the active, cheerful and talkative parakeet we love. Thanks again, to the medical team at North Central Animal Hospital, for your help and advice!

The kind staff at North Central Animal Hospital have always been very sympathetic and supportive to every need and concern. They take the time to make sure you understand all of the options best for your fur babies. What especially touched me was the follow up email and call after the appointment, a personal touch that has been sadly lost in the industry. I definitely, highly and firstly recommend NCAH. Thank you all so much for the care you've given to Khameria.

Dr. Hillary Frank is an avian specialist who even sees ramphastidae/toucans. This is very rare to find anywhere and such a godsend! The whole clinic has been very kind and attentive. I am very happy to have found them.

I didnt feel as though they cared about my pet, they were only in it for the money. I had to wait 1-2 hours before the vet would see us. They made it incredibly difficult to get prescriptions filled out. I tried multiple online stores but the vet would not approve them and they had to be approved verbally not through email. Refused to send my prescription to Costco. I finally broke down crying on the phone with them because I was so frustrated and felt helpless. I am no longer taking my dog there.

Just transferred care of my 2 year old chihuahua mix Cocoa. Moved from west side to central Phoenix a year and a half ago and I think, NO, I know I have found the place for her care. Everyone was so nice and professional. Dr Frank was great and very knowledgeable.

Honestly, they have the sweetest staff! Our fur baby is a pit mix and has always been a shy and scared pup. They have always been understanding of her needs and behaviors when coming in for checkup/nail trims. We have also brought our fancy leopard gecko to them for an emergency visit and follow up visits. They always made us feel welcomed! Highly recommend them!

Well worth the drive! They handled my puppy really well and did an amazing job at explaining treatment to me. Got my puppy scheduled for another visit very easily as well. I'm not sure how prices compare to the area but it was pretty expensive... Looking at around 80$ for the visit alone. -no military discounts-. They did have "budget friendly" options.. But it was more like selecting which tests/treatments to -not- do. I plan on shopping around for a vet, but for a first-time experience I'm very satisfied!

Cookie had her first visit and I was very happy with the staff especially Brenda the Vet tech she was patient, kind and very attentive. I was disappointed in the amount of time the Veterinarian gave us which was about 5 minutes. I understand there was an emergency going on so I am going to attribute the lack of time to that and hope our next visit she isn't rushed.

Really happy with our treatment from front staff to back. They were happy to check our sick pet chicken and even though it was bad news they were very good at laying out all our possible options and working with us to keep her comfortable. Will definitely return with my other pets

The only thing that could have made my experience better, is if there was no COVID. The whole waiting in the car "thing" (and wearing masks) is weird to me. Other than that, which is not your fault, you were very thorough, full of information, and treated Greta as if she was your own! Greta and I both appreciate you!

Everyone there is awesome. Bandaging up an 18yr old Balinese cat. He is such a good boy. I bought him a new cone, the hard plastic one was hard to eat and see. Next is teeth cleaning. Have a fantastic day.

Appointment went great. All of the staff took their time in caring for my puppy. Treatments and options were discussed in depth. Everyone from the front office staff, to the vet tech, and the vet all treated me and my puppy with kindness and respect. I highly recommend North Central for your veterinary needs.

There are a lot of positive reviews about this vet's office so statistically someone found to have a bad experience. I don't think I would say mine was horrible but I'm not going back. We rescued a wild pigeon whose wing was broken, we of course did not know it was broken but it was drooping down in the middle of summer so we figured he or she was heat exhausted brought her inside waited a few weeks till she seemed to have more energy but my wife wanted to make sure she was okay with the vet. Our usual vet doesn't see birds so she recommended North Central. If they did anything other than an office visit we had to pay up front. The first time we went we weren't even allowed inside like it was COVID times. Before this gets too long I'll just sum it up,$1,500 later we have a wild pigeon as a pet. And that's okay if that's what we have to do to save its life but we never once saw or met the vet, most of the staff, either has severe RBF which is what I choose to assume instead of assuming they are just the B part of RBF. There were a couple staff that were polar opposite and were pretty good, however based off just my wife and i's experience the ones that were good good try to find a happier place to work. I don't believe it's a bad vet office, we are just spoiled by our usual vet office I suppose. (Update 9-19-23:; To the vets office, we are not fired from your services, we quit.)

NCAH was so helpful in not only diagnosing what was going on with my beloved, but in helping me setup next steps to take care of her. Their staff were incredibly friendly, approachable, clear and compassionate… exactly what is needed when tending to our pets that we love ❤️

I needed an antibody test for a rescued healthy chicken. I was informed they required an exam to administer the test. (I neither needed or wanted) but before exposing my flock to potential latent disease, I agreed. They performed the exam and gave me a report- she is healthy (which I knew) and an estimate of over $500. I said I only wanted the blood test, but approved a vitamin B shot to boost her energy and immune system. I remitted $250 (wow, but what else could I do- they had me). 15 days later and (3 inquiries by telephone) and I finally got a text telling me the test can take 10 days. I called and spoke to Alex who agreed with my doubt that the test sample would be reliable after so much time. They refunded the test cost, but refuse to refund the needless exam I was extorted into getting on my healthy chicken. Paris was being kept separate during the overdue results- and was attacked by a predator- she is now battling recovery. I do NOT recommend this vet.

I was very nervous at first. I have always gone in to my appointment with my animals. This was the first time I did not, they came to my car and got Cody bird. Everybody was so nice and helpful. I didnt want just someone looking at my baby. I found an Avian specialist. I will definitely recommend and take Cody back to see North Central Animal hospital. Thank you very much for everything you do and recommended for our cody bird.

My cockatoo has been seen by different vets for years for prolapse issues. I researched into a board certified avian vets and found Dr. Frank. I drove from Tucson to have Duke seen and he was able to have a surgical procedure the same day and go home that afternoon. I highly recommend taking your avian pets here!

  • 5/5 Margaret H. 2 years ago on Google
On the recommendation of a friend, we brought our rescue dog here to get a second opinion on treatment options for her two skin issues. Dr. Frank took a lot of time to review her previous treatment records and assess her overall health as well as the specific skin issues I brought her in for. In the end, Dr. Frank gave me several treatment options and took the time to explain why or when I might implement each one. She gave me the ok to use some home care treatments first, before we decided whether or not to put our dog on another round of antibiotics. I was very happy with our first visit here and will soon be bringing in our cats so they can have their annual exams with Dr. Frank.

My experience with North Central Animal Hospital has been sensational. The staff is compassionate and very patient in answering questions. Their concern for my chickens is heartfelt. I will always be grateful for Alex, Charlene (sp.?) and Dr. Frank!!

Just want to thank the kind staff at North Central AH for their kindness. We unfortunately had to come in and euthanize our snake last week. Everyone was so patient and gentle with us in our time of need. They squeezed us into an emergency spot the morning after I called when 10 other hospitals couldn't see us for days if not weeks. We can't thank you guys enough for the hard work you continue to do through these unprecedented times. Thank you for being there for us when no one else was. Our little Ren is at peace now.

My cat Luna was not doing to good about two days ago. Gave North Central a call and they were able to help me same day! Now my cat is on a speedy recovery back to good health. They were amazing and very helpful with information for my cat. The employees working there were also very welcoming. Plus they seemed to care a lot for the animals coming through there doors! I give North Central Animal Hospital a 10/10 and will definitely be coming back.
