Serenity mental health has exceeded my expectations. After moving to Arizona, I had no connections to a psychiatrist and trying to find one was extremely difficult. I had two absolutely horrible experiences at my last psychiatric offices out here, so I didn’t have high hopes for serenity. Instead, I was greeted with Dr. Sethi. Words can’t even describe how caring, compassionate, and truly invested in your well-being she is. She is seriously a godsend to me after never having a psychiatrist that would take me seriously or treat me more than a dollar sign. The entire office at the desert ridge location is full of cheerful, kind people. After hopping around mental health facilities and psychiatrists for the past 10 years, I’m finally settled at a great one that I plan on going to for as long as I need it. They have helped me start to turn my life around and I hope you choose to let them do the same for you.

My initial visit to Serenity Mental Health want great. My first physician was a bit arrogant and careless. I was in an extreme vulnerable state, I felt worst after I see that physician. I decided to give it another shot with Dr. Ruiloba, I’m so glad I did. He listen, he care, he suggest treatment, and I’m better because of Dr. Ruiloba. I would recommend him for anyone who seek to get and feel better. Not that I have seen that many psychiatrists, but if you find the best, why keep looking?

The staff and quality of care at the Desert Ridge location is top notch. Since I have started going there for treatment everyone has been kind and of top of assisting me with necessary paperwork. Meka and Chloe bee so great with following through with forms and has promptly submitted and continue to follow up to see if I have questions or need more assistance. Candice at the front desk always has a smile and very friendly. Dr. Ruiloba is excellent with helping me get on the right path and is very understanding and kind. Kiersten is phenomenal and makes me feel at ease. If I could give more stars I would. Highly recommend this office!

I've been receiving treatment since 2020 at Serenity. What I like about their customer services is the priority of importance on one's medical needs. From on scheduling appointments, after care plan, medications, other one on one treatment procedures, and most important their sense of urgency on one's documentation which is needed to employer's third party insurance claims. It made me have a peace of mind knowing all documents is submitted in a timely manner, not having to worry. I've heard horror stories with other mental institutions taking excessively time frames and filled out improper or lack of. At Serenity you won't get inconsistency, you will receive the highest of professionalism. Now I can only speak on behalf of my doctor, which is Dr Winona Belmonte MD. I really appreciate her for you know she's listening to what you have to say is important and she validates one's concerns or issues with her feedback. It's more of a relationship you build and it's a two way communication and not one way conversation. I give Serenity, the Staff, and my Dr Belmonte a thumbs up. And recommend their services to the public and anyone who needs help. Remember you're not alone, its a choice to get help or be alone. It's easier to receive help with other's then alone.

The person who received me on the phone for intake stayed on the phone and gave me patience to get myself together before we proceeded. She really made me feel like Serenity cares about it's patients well being in such a kind and compassionate way. It really helped me get through the rest of my day and made me look forward to getting the help I need. She got me an appointment as soon as available and I appreciate that very much. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted by the front desk and the person who took my weight and blood pressure was also very kind and compassionate. All the people I listed above deserve 5 stars. When I walked into the room with Dr. Prussing I immediately did not feel welcome. Her demeanor was not kind or caring. She did acknowledge me other than asking for my pronouns which I had already specified on my arrival paperwork. I felt like she pushed her views onto me rather than listening to how I'm struggling and what I was hoping to get out of this consultation. She was quite condescending and rude at times. Smiling at me only when she felt like what she was saying was the best way to go about things. I was very emotional from beginning to end of the appointment and she did not offer me the tissues next to her once while I cried. She did not stop to let me catch my breath. She just kept going and when I told her I felt like she didn't have a good read on me, she just kept repeating "This is how I practice." I did not appreciate that at all in fact, I almost walked out twice. The whole appointment did not make me feel any better, it made me feel worse. When I asked about the medication she prescribed me and how it would truly affect me with such a low dose she didn't help me understand. She was not what I hoped for from Serenity since I was referred to by someone I love whom has received stellar experiences with this company. I was disappointed and that left me feeling even more lost. Hopefully I have a better interaction with the Doctor I'll be meeting in Chandler.

Found Serenity Mental Health Center in my panicked search for a new, regular psychiatrist. I have to say, I am 100% so glad I scheduled an appointment. From the very nice woman in Utah who scheduled me, the staff, and the doc, James O'Hara, it's all been great. They have it figured out. James was super professional, actively listened, and it felt like speaking with a human being. I find psychiatrists can be a little too professional, at times. Like speaking to a robot. I am confident I will be happy here for many years to come. They actually care!!

This office was incredible from the second I first called. Every person that I dealt with was thorough, SO kind, and offered education every step of the way. The flexibility of the office as a whole is so great, being open as late as they are (7pm) and being open on Saturdays. The large amount of providers is helpful as well. Dr Prussing was amazing - so trustworthy, she explained anything she could, made sure I felt comfortable with the plan, and really made me feel like I was being heard.

From the comfortable office setting, the courteous and kind receptionists, and intelligent and compassionate doctor, I couldn’t ask for more. Thank you. Also-my prescription was sent to the pharmacy and ready to pick up within 5 hours of my appointment, seems pretty reasonable to me.

The office staff and Dr. Lee have been attentive and very helpful to me. Serenity has a central call service that never picks up, transfers messages or returns calls. I have to drive to the office to speak to humans. Although this is very inconvenient to patients, I personally am quite happy with my care.

Amazing service each time. Dr. Sethi always listens to my concerns and hears me out and even had my kids with me the most recent visit and didn’t make me feel anxious or anything talking to her with them with me. Helped kept them occupied and happy. Very pleased with the whole kind staff. I’m always in and out and that’s so nice to know I can be seen quick and get back home but still be heard on concerns

I became violently ill right after taking a new med that Doctor Hubert gave me. I called the office and waited on hold for 30 minutes for their call center in Utah to answer. Note: All calls are sent to Utah during normal business hours, even for scheduling. They then transferred to someone else who advised someone will call me back in 72 business hours. That call never came. How someone can be so sick and be completely ignored is beyond me. This office operates like a IT help desk, if you ever need local help, even for medical emergency, you will be waiting an hour on phone and promised return calls that never come. Avoid this practice.

Very lovely office! Calming and right when you enter the doors, they make you feel comfortable and listened to. Dr. Elias Ruiloba was the psychiatrist I saw and he was amazing; he listens intently, has no judgement, and makes you feel comfortable during the evaluation. Additionally, he is open to patient opinion and feedback, and as a woman I felt listened to and validated in my mental health issues. Will be sticking to Serenity for a long time!

Nothing but positive things to say about Serenity and provider James O’Hara! Everytime I go in, all the staff is so friendly and kind! James is an amazing NP- he is thorough, knowledgeable, and even goes above and beyond to discuss other supplements to improve my focus and mental health. 10/10 recommend them!

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr.Jerzy Hubert and Serenity mental health center. They're so supportive and I feel like I have a true support system there. I never feel judged or unimportant for any issue I might need to address. They always want to make sure I am feeling my best self and if I'm not, working toward solutions to help me get there. Going to Serenity has been life changing and I can't say enough good things about Dr.Hubert and his staff.

This was my first time meeting with a psychiatrist. The woman who assisted me on the phone was super helpful and got me scheduled for an appointment quickly. I saw Dr. Hubert who was great. He did not rush through the assessment and explained everything in detail. I left the office with reassurance he would find the best course of action to treat/manage my issue.

I have no complaints. Dr. O’Hara is fantastic and treats me with the utmost respect. You can tell he cares about his patients and wants to see them succeed. He discusses anything and everything about my care openly and honestly with me and doesn’t rush through the appointment. He also celebrates victories big and small. He is timely and professional. Highly recommend.

The whole team at Serenity (and Dr. Prussing specifically) have been so amazing since the beginning. As a first time patient at a mental health office, I was nervous and wasn’t sure what to expect. Everyone cares for the patients, they know them, and it is always a positive experience, even the way the techs and assistants speak to each other! Happy, confident, and ready to help each other. I’ve been privileged to see Dr. Prussing as she is personable and deeply helpful. You won’t go wrong.

Just began this journey to improve my mental health and this was a great place to get started. The environment as well as the staff felt both very welcoming and comforting for a, “First timer.” Dr. Hubert gave me the time and attention I needed to address my problems as well as the next steps to take towards improvement. Thank you again to not only Dr. Hubert, but to all of the staff at Serenity.

Serenity has the best staff, doctors. They actually care for you as a person, not just another number. Dr. Ruiloba takes the time to know you before prescribing any medication and is so comfortable to talk to. I attibute my ongoing recovery to them.

I appreciate Dr. Ruiloba for his listening skills and interpretation of my medical history. He is easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. He is really caring and does not push for unnecessary medicines. The whole staff is friendly and polite. I want to thank Pooh and Meka for their amazing customer service. They have treat me with compassion and empathy.

I am a combat veteran with two tours of duty and a current student at ASU. I I as sent to serenity through the Veteran Affairs Community Care System. I was told that under the Community Care’s four point system, subsection 2 covers my blood work and procedures directly for treatment authorized. Serenity did it properly advise their lab partner and now they want to stick me with a 250 dollar bill. Be careful if you go here, their mistake with your insurance can be your pain-easily!

Everyone there was super welcoming and nice. I really felt like I had gone to the right place, and was sitting across from a highly educated very knowledgeable psychiatrist. I'd also like to compliment the staff, they were very helpful and kind. Cracking jokes, making you laugh. Those things are greatly appreciated. I've never found a place as nice as this. Looking forward to seeing you guys!

My psychiatrist was attentive to my concerns and was kind and patient with me. He explained the medication that he believes will help with what I’m experiencing and helped me to feel more comfortable about seeking help. Everyone I interacted with was kind and courteous so I’d absolutely recommend this location.

I can’t say enough good about this place. Everyone here is so kind and helpful, from the receptionists to the back office assistants, to the people doing prior authorizations, and especially the physicians. I never had any issues with my prescriptions, my insurance was handled seemlessly, and the back office staff went above and beyond when I needed paperwork such as FMLA. It was always easy for me to contact their office for appointments, medical records etc… I just want to say great job and let them know how appreciated they are for helping people during difficult times in their lives. I am very thankful to have found them!

The whole experience at Serenity was awesome. The front desk, the nurses, and the doctor himself; all were nice, polite, and caring. A wonderful experience even more when you don’t feel so great mentally.

Right from the start, Dr. Kara Prussing put me at immediate ease. She wanted a thorough understanding of how she could best help me. She took the time to talk with me, did not make me feel uncomfortable or rushed. We discussed a plan for me going forward, which I was very happy with, and I am looking forward too my next appointment. I would highly recommend Dr. Prussing.

Whenever I need a refill on my prescription I have to beg them to get it in and it can take over a week to get them to finally send it in. Once they do, they send it to the wrong location and this has happened 3-4 times including today. I feel like the only thing I got out of serenity is a diagnosis and medication that I can’t obtain without having to make 14 phone calls in the last three days. For example I am leaving for the next week and now won’t have my meds, I finally am making the decision to leave to a different psychiatrist office.

I am very thankful to have found such a professional and courteous staff. From the greeting to the check in the procedure was as efficient as can be. 10 stars to the MD that met with me and the girls taking vitals! The only complaint is that I think there scale was off. I got on the scale and it read one at a time please. That’s a bad attempt at joke. Great job to the entire staff. Ty James L

I just moved across the country from Florida and was having a mental breakdown. They saw me a couple hours after I called them!! Jeezy Hubert, MD was incredibly nice and understanding! He listened and gave me the best experience in the medical field I've ever had. I've seen many doctors for my mental health throughout my life and he is by far my favorite!!! I am so happy that I get to be treated by him!!

Dr. Belmonte was truly been a blessing in my life. She not only listens, she is empathetic and almost like a motivational cheerleader. We take life in the present and I feel like my treatment is customized. I wish it was easier to get a hold of the desert ridge clinic via phone.

I'm only a couple weeks into treatment (TMS combined with Ketamine), and the staff here is absolutely amazing. The TMS tech I work with ensures that every session I am well taken care of. I had a bad experience with a Ketamine treatment a couple days ago (not the fault of Serenity at all) and today, the nurse sat with me through the whole treatment to make sure I had a positive experience. These people truly seem to care about what they do. It's a breath of fresh air in an often difficult industry.

I am new to this office, and though I liked the provider I saw, dealing with the office has been a very frustrating experience. Even though they had my insurance information long before I had my first appointment, they never bothered to get a prior authorization for the medication they prescribed. The doctor put me on a starter dose and wrote a script for the higher dose to follow. I paid for the 7 day ramp up dose out of pocket and called them to ask them to please take care of the prior authorization on the higher dose so the pharmacy could run it through my insurance. They simply would not do it. I called numerous times, and even expressed my concern that I was going to be out of the first dose and was running the risk of not being able to pick up the rest until they sorted out my insurance. On Saturday, 5 days after I started calling to basically beg them to do what they needed to do, they finally made the simple call for a prior auth. Unfortunately, now I am out of medicine and will have a gap between when I last took the meds and when the pharmacy will be able to get it in stock. Exactly what I was worried would happen, and I’m SOL. After a $350 intake visit, I’m upset this office didn’t care enough to get it right. Finally got it all figured out, so let's hope it was a one off and things will go smoothly from here. Update: I was kept waiting more than 20 minutes for one of my initial appointments. I assumed another appointment was running late, but the provider ended up walking through the lobby with her lunch. Cut to: My last appointment, when they kept me waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time. Today, I was 15 minutes late (called as soon as I realized I could not make the start time) and they wouldn’t see me. Paid the appointment fee and left. I was reminded about the policy, which I can’t refute. But I can argue about it, because they can make you wait as long as they want and it’s TS for you. My time is just as valuable as theirs. Believe the reviews. After all the crap I had to deal with in the beginning and now this? As much as I love feeling treated like an ATM, I don’t see myself returning.

Just walking into the office I felt attended to, all my questions answered and then the additional supportive staff helped set expectations for my visit with the psychiatrist. Speaking with Dr. Dekyser was great, she was thorough and I felt like she genuinely showed interest. She didn't rush me into any medication (I'm new to medication) and walked me through the options. I felt so seen by her, it helped me to hear from a professional that I was showing initiative and am strong. Everything after that was a breeze!

  • 5/5 Chris G. 2 years ago on Google
I know it seems common to say when praising such a place, but the people really were genuinely nice. And they seemed to care -- usually, it's one or the other that either the staff or the doctors seem less interested, but here it felt like they all actually cared. It was pretty amazing for a first visit. Note that this was for the Desert Ridge location.
