If all the colonist were to have respected all the native people in this plain of the world and live peaceful together without creating a system, religion etc, everything would be more meaningful, creative and there would be abundance of food and water and work and love for all. No more two face people, that play the victim game all the time, that blames everyone except themselves..

Awesome hiked to the ruins of Civilian Conservation Corps camp SP8. You can even make out the out line where the barracks use to be. Also, by the trail there's a old garbage dump full of rusted cans next where the mess hall was.

Nice easy type of hike. Just incredible to try to imagine what the architecture used to look like. Highly recommend

Neat little out of the way landmark. The kids really enjoyed trying to figure out what it was.

2 fireplaces, 2 staircases, 1 decently-sized house in the middle of nowhere. Lost Ranch is the husk of a house of some sort tucked away on Lost Ranch trail just before you start climbing the mountain. I've been trying to figure out where the bathroom is and nothing looks quite right. I'm also trying to decide if the stairs led into a narrow atrium or a weird hallway. I've dig into the history of Lost Ranch and come up with essentially nothing. No matter what, it's an interesting site and a hiking stop you shouldn't miss. The mystery of the house adds to the fun of the discovery.

Fairly easy walk up to the Lost Ranch. Some of the path is small rock gravel so you have to be careful on the twists & turns of the ankle. The foundation & fireplace is all that's left of the mysterious ranch house which is nestled at the bottom of South Mountain. Mid March there was beautiful desert foliage along the path.

A mile from my home. It was doable with 2 dogs. Recommend cell phone, water, and that your whereabouts are known.

This is a great destination hike. Look around the lost ranch for signs of the old camp and in the hills for old mine shafts. Easy hike in and out. Check your maps though as there are a lot of small trails to get twisted around on.

No one is sure what this place used to be. Great destination to see early 20th building. You can get to it by a couple of trails.

Easy to find and follow the trail to get there. It's a quiet little spot with places to (informally) sit. Pretty good to use as a lunch spot (no benches or tables... it's a demolished house with just two fire places and a foundation). Great place to take the kids
