We've always loved going here! Lots of menu choices, including several Vegan options which is unusual. This time we had the Portobello Mushroom Tacos (perfectly cooked, tender & flavorful), the Impossible Burger (also juicy and very good) and the Bubba Burger for the non-Vegan in our group. They have a great selection of beers on tap and the inside atmosphere great. Sitting outside is also fantastic here, but on this visit we just wanted to be inside for the AC! We've been here several times and never been disappointed; we'll definitely be back!

WARNING!!! DO NOT EAT HERE! To the woman who hung up on me on Aug. 20th while trying to obtain a reservation...your lack of professionalism, utter rudeness and misinformation regarding outside dining regulations (You should get your facts straight before you threaten a perspective patron with them!) cost this establishment $350! Not to mention, a hard-working server a generous tip. We dined across the street and had a fabulous time at a table for seven FAMILY MEMBERS celebrating our daughter’s 18th birthday. Thank you SEDONA TAP HOUSE for the safe and appropriate dining accommodations, superb service and exceptional food! We will be recommending to others and will definitely be back to STH again,

I have been on the pub before and had no problems, but this time amid COVID I thought it was a great idea to grab some dinner outdoors.... The service took a long time, when it happened the waitress had her nose hanging out of the mask, the silverware that came with our food was not disposable and dirty and the tables were not distanced. I saw people sitting back to back with each other... unfortunately not coming back until the end of the pandemic

ordered a beer. my favorite beer and it tasted like the keg hasnt been used in a week. Also waiter took 40 minutes to take our appetizer order at 50%capacity. They got rid of happy hour food specials. I specifically asked my waiter to hold my entree until my appetizer came. She was incompetent. She obviously does not know how to do her job or doesnt care. I would think that the 40 yr old woman would know how to do the job but no, she blamed it on the kitchen when its her fault. Ordered the 23$ new york strip with my friend. My friend asked for it as rare as possible and me rare. His was medium. and mine was rare. for 23 dollars the steak was terrible quality I couldn't even finish it. Never go here for a good meal.

My friend ordered a house salad, and they bought her a Caesar salad. The kitchen sent out wings without any ranch dipping sauce for the celery

Took my family here tonight and it was a pretty horrible experience. We got our drinks then didn’t see our waitress for 45 minutes. Whoever the manager was just fed us excuses as to why our experience the way that it was and basically said other people were their priority over us. I hope your experience is a lot better than what ours was! They do have great food but if you don’t have great service to along with that, it means nothing. I really hope you have a better experience than we did.

Food was absolutely terrible, Chicken Tuscan, it had no flavor at all. The Chicken burrito was made with unmelted yellow American cheese.

Food is mediocre, not the most professional. Not more than pub food. One of the rudest staff I've ever experienced. Phoenixville is filled with amazing brew pubs and reastaraunts. Literally any spot is better than this place. They had thier staff leave garbage bags in the corner of the bar while sitting there. I'm a server at reastaraunts and I've never experienced such horrid service.

Debbie that works at this establishment wasnt wear a mask and physically threthaned a minor/My daughter, while being asked for her pay check, it doesnt matter the food its the matter of staff, employees and the essential workers needed right now. As long as people like debbie work here the business will not be as efficient as it could be. Never going to this establishment again.

I'm not sure what this place used to be but it looks like an old hotel. Our table was in the corner of the bar area and it was absolutely freezing for some reason. The bar crowd was lively and they had college football on which was nice for my hubby. The chopped Cobb salad was good but it was not what someone from Chicago knows as a chopped salad. My husband had the burger 🍔 and it looked delicious, though he said it was hard to eat. I love a messy burger, so I'm sure I would have loved it.

Such a good night out, even with COVID-19 restrictions. Wide variety of food on the menu and some tasty drink specials along with a full bar. Fried pickles are recommended and, if you get a sandwich with pickles on side, know they are delicious as well, with a little jalapeño spice. Homemade chips are delicious as well, so don't worry about not upgrading to have fries with your sandwich. I recommend the reuben as well, with a healthy portion of meat and sauerkraut. No skimping here!

Beautiful and charming old hotel! The food was excellent - the grilled chicken cobb salad was a 10/10. Waitress was great and loved the cold air conditioning. All of it makes this place worth going out of the way for!

Great find on Bridge Street. It's pub food but very good. Dining outdoors the end of November was perfect. I had an open face brisket sandwich and my girl had blackened shrimp and salmon salad. Loved them both. Fried pickle chips are a must.

My husband, two young adult children and I were out for some family time and have wanted to go there for a while now. It was well worth the 45 min drive. The food and service were great. They made a mistake and took care of it promptly. Our waitress was very attentive we will definitely go again.

Great staff and atmosphere. Good eats. If you get the steak be careful, they didn't do a good job making it medium rare. They made me another steak and took it off the bill, awesome customer service. So just be aware. There not perfect, but clearly go getters.

Have eaten here several times. This time we went here on Labor Day...gotta have a Burger! Waitress was very attentive and accommodating! Due to heat&humidity outside, we ate inside. Burgers were good! Sweet Potato fries were delicious! Since we live nearby, will eat here again!

We visited for a family members birthday. They put us in a room where we were all able to sit together and mingle. I can't say enough about the wait staff. They were kind, patient, and quick. The food was consistently good (and we ordered a lot). We even took a small tour and learned about the history of the space. Very cool and will visit again!

This used to be our go-to place in Phoenixville, but there have been some changes recently. The largest change is there is a very limited menu now. It's a shame because the variety used to be much better. We very much enjoy eating on the gliding tables out front, but there is no lighting in them anymore, so it's really dark and you can't see each other or the menus. They also don't really glide well anymore. The positives are that despite the lack of variety, the food is still quite good. The smoked brisket platter is excellent and I was pleasantly surprised by the reuben on my last visit. My wife likes the pizzas. They keep changing the fried pickle chips and the sweet potato fries, so we stopped ordering them because they were either great, or terrible. Nothing in between. I love wings but found theirs to be just average. Not a lot goes into them before they are tossed in the fryer and hit with a very basic sauce. The service is usually average. They have a great variety of craft beers and the pours on their wine are usually generous. We'll be back.

In the heart of bustling Phoenixville. Who knew it was such a happening town? Thanks for being open on a Monday! What's up with that? It's a shame so many places aren't...I had a decent cosmo and delish pork chop from specials menu. Fried Potatoe "cake" was a miss...cool outdoor area with gliders and lights. Nice bar and indoor seating. Outdoor people watching also fun!!

Besides the unwelcoming hostess, a solid spot for some good grub and drinks. We got there around 4:30 - was asked if we had a reservation, which we did not, but before seating us she told us that we could only be there for an hour since there was some reservation at 6 PM. I've been a hostess and a waitress and would have never spoken like that to any customers coming out to eat. Our waitress was more than helpful - she provided us paper menus as it wasn't pulling up on our phones, she was apologetic for the wait for our drinks/meal, and came to check on us pretty frequently. Portions were plentiful, though a little pricey, all in all a good experience.

This is one of my favorite places to go in Phoenixville. The atmosphere is great! Wings are the best in town. The chef specials are always creative and delicious. The servers and bartenders are friendly and management does a great job creating weekly and seasonal events. The corn hole tournament is always a blast. If you're looking for a local spot in Phoenixville with great food, great drinks and great atmosphere and where everyone knows your name, it's definitely the Great American Pub!

Every town needs a place like the Great American Pub! Phoenixville is quite the little under-the-radar secret the Philly metro and this place just has such a nice vibe. Historic-looking pub with abundant bar and table space, it is friendly and inviting. AND, this is what I need to share with y’all, the “Bridge Street Burger” is one of the best burgers I have had anywhere and I have had many burgers. A half-pound burger with pepper jack cheese, capicola ham (see, literally a “ham”burger) and peppers, well, all I can say is that I was quite dazzled!

Their food came to the table LIGHTNING fast. I've never been more thrilled about extremely quick food. It was perfect, server was efficient and nice. The vibe/atmosphere is not kid oriented. Great spot to go for a quick meal and drinks. Love the size of the establishment and the different rooms for your eating experience to be different. Thank you 💖 Will definitely return.

We had two apps for lunch, cheese steak roll ups, they were delicious, and a large portion for an app. The service was excellent, our server was a most genial young lady! She was the only wait staff during our lunch time. We had drinks immediately, and our lunch was served in a short time inspite of the fact that it was made fresh, not a frozen prep. We are not residents of this area, we were working for a week in Spring City. Should we be lucky enough to return, we will definitely be back! Thank you.

Great atmosphere and even better food. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Had the spinach, crab and artichoke dip for a starter; very cream and lots of pieces of crab. My husband had the reuben and said it was supreme. I had the general fayette chicken sandwich; amazing, the special mayo made the sandwich. We then splurged, my husband got the turtle cheesecake and I had the ultimate chocolate cake. Again, both were out of this world! Will go again!

Great American Pub is always a staple. The staff is nice and quick. The food is good, but I wouldn't stay it is anything super exciting (except when they have the crispy brussel sprouts on the menu - those are great). Their outdoor space is very nice, but I have never been seated at a glider. When they have the bat open, there is usually a decent mix of music and people. But it can usually take the bat tenders a while to take your order, let alone get you your drinks. Overall, a good place to grab drinks and a bite to eat.

I must give this incredibly beautiful restaurant 5 stars...what is not to love about it? The building itself has such a history...and the great care, that the owners have done to maintain its original beauty... Plus, the staff are extremely welcoming, with outstanding service and a tantalizing menu...a true part of Phoenixvilles difficult history....rising out of the Ashes, like the Phoenix.

Sat down right away and wait staff came, took our drink order, so far so good, got drinks, passed order. Apps and dinner all one shot Appetizers came out.... No plates, disposable silverware in the plastic with one napkin each ( Buffalo wings). Need second round of drinks ( Coke). So far only we only saw waitress for initial order, bus persons brought food and second drinks. Not done appetizers but here comes dinner. Cream Mac and cheese, should be awesome .... Wait crab meat in top of Mac and cheese, not real cheesy. Can only speak for myself but alittle disappointed. Tacos, and brisket sandwich were...ok, to my understanding. I felt like I was at a picnic. Disposable plates, silverware, cups and napkins in the silverware packet. A very cheap picnic. But good wasn't cheap

I was obsessed with this place since I moved to the area in 2014. I spent a birthday here, would love their late night apps, DJ’s, bartenders etc etc It wasn’t until my wedding rehearsal dinner in January of 2018 that we booked the upstairs room that I really was turned off. The party coordinator and I planned everything as best as we could (weather permitting) with a snowstorm just a day before. Miraculously all rsvp’d guests made it. I am not sure if the restaurant thought I may have some no shows .... BECAUSE THEY UNFORTUNATELY RAN OUT OF FOOD (After pre-selected everything before hand and confirmed the number of people several times over). A memory that sticks out in my mind of that night: One of the female managers visibly doing a headcount of my guests in the middle of the room perhaps to ensure I had not gone over my 40 guest commitment? Now picture a confused biracial family checking in with my husband and I to make sure everything is ok. There were several other things that bothered me that night unfortunately regarding the relationships between my guests and the staff but I’ll leave that be for now. Choose another location for your event or make sure they are prepared for your actual size party.

Sorry folks, I just dropped some friends off at the GAP, but they said that they had a great time, first time out eating during the pandemic. They really keep to their 2 hour "window" for dinner, which is understandable considering their percentage occupancy limitations and the amount of people waiting in line to get in for the next set of reservations.

  • 4/5 Mike D. 3 years ago on Google
Food is good, prices are too high compared to portions though. I.e. fried pickles for $11 should be an enormous portion (or lower price), burger for 14 is high even for the area. If they had lunch specials that would also help, as the food is good. 4 stars - well worth a visit, but not a good enough value to frequent

Great American Pub is one of my favorite spots in Phoenixville for food and drink. During the warm weather months they are THE place to visit because of their mass of outdoor seating. During peak times and good weather just be prepared to wait for a bit. The food Chef John prepares and sends out of the kitchen is brilliant. I'm big into the culinary scene both while dining out and in my kitchen. From lunch to dinner I have never been disappointed with any of the dishes I've had at Great American Pub Phoenixville. The draft list isn't huge, but they tend to have some great beer. I love their back bar area, especially on a warm summer night when they have the large doors open. Make sure to add GAP to your list of places to try if you are in the area!
