One of the best breakfast spots in Durham. Lovely staff, HUGE portions, yummy food. It is very busy on weekends, so there will be a wait, but well worth it.

Overall great experience. Parking is easy. The restaurant is clean, and well laid out. The staff are all friendly, and personable. Better service than I've had anywhere for a long time! The menu has a wide variety of options that should suit everyone. The service was quick, and the food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. It came out hot, fresh, and in a very decent portion. Prices are reasonable compared to other restaurants nearby. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!

We stopped in for brunch with the family, 5 adults and two kids. The coloring kept the big kid happy and the bowl of fruit kept our little going until everyone arrived. Excellent menu options, the food was fantastic and the portions where big, great value for the money. We will be back!

I really love this place for their breakfast options and how nice the servers are. I always order the meat lovers omelette, pancakes. The home fries are very good too. I for sure recommend this place for a great breakfast.

Absolutely loved this place! The Blue Rooster doesn’t get enough credit especially being so close to Angelique’s. I prefer the Blue Rooster because there are no frills, fair prices, and the service is exceptional. I don’t remember the name of my server but she was a sweetheart The eggs Benedict and home fries were some of the best I’ve had recently. The amount of food I got was the right amount. I actually took a little box to go.

Decided to go out for breakfast with my family for the first time in a long time over the weekend. Immediately when we started searching for places, our minds went to the big franchise breakfast joints. We decided to do something different and try a place we’ve never been before. We decided to come to The Blue Rooster and mannn we were not disappointed. The service was spectacular , the food was fresh and delicious (and they provided a ton of food) I’m not saying this lightly; I have definitely found my new go-to breakfast spot.

Yummy food and yummy waitresses, and I mean that like they were nice, not in some weird way. I mean, not to say they don't look lovely but they were really nice to me like an aunty or something. Big portions too 😏

I come here with my wife every Monday morning and afternoon and have made it a family morning thing for us to come! The service is outstanding the two female waitresses are outstanding!!! funny,friendly and welcoming. The food is really good and the portions are AMAZING for the price you pay you can’t complain. Overall it’s an excellent experience that you can’t miss out on 10/10 👏🏼

Great breakfast this morning served by two amazing ladies Amber and Dawn. Great customer service from the moment we walked in. Coffee was hot! Food plate was large! Water proactively brought with my meal! Amber was such a pleasure to have as our waitress. I hope these ladies have as much of a great day as I did my breakfast. Till next time ladies. Thanks again.

Have been quite a few times. Best breakfast spot ! The food is amazing , not greasy at all ,top quality and the portion sizes leave you full. The restaurant seating is placed well so even when busy it's not cramped. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Our waitress Dawn (I hope I got that right? 10/18 ) was OUTSTANDING in every way - to include getting our meal to us in a blackout!!! (THAT'S HOW GOOD 😎!) FOOD:5/5. We all had breakfast and the portions were big and prices were reasonable. If you're a hot sauce person - ask for the house specialty (watch out though, it'll get ya! 🔥)

The food is healthy, non-greasy and loaded!! It's exactly what you expect - good breakfast diner with very reasonable prices. Decor is homey, service is relaxed. Pretty standard, nothing fancy or imagination, but good if that's what you are looking for. Definitely our default go-to breakfast spot, although I do think they serve lunch and dinner as well. I think they have a morning breakfast special till 10am on weekdays for 8$.

Staffs are friendly, attentive. Small traditional store, nice menu with lots of choices. Love the egg benedict, meals are in big portion, reasonable price. My son had a kids meal and it’s almost same size as mine

We usually visit The Blue Rooster for a great breakfast, now they are open for dinner! The food was delicious 🤤 I got the 7 Cheese Tortellini, husband had Chicken Parm and the kids shared the fish and chips. Food was excellent and we finished everything.

The food was really delicious and a great price! The staff were super friendly and we were seated quickly. The table was clean and the sandwich my server recommended was great. And the extra hot hot sauce was very good! My very picky niece finished her French toast and asked for more. The portions were big so we all had leftovers for lunch later. It’s quite busy though, there was a line out the door when we were leaving.

My new favourite breakfast place in, Ajax. Super friendly staff. Dawn, Anna and Sasha are all amazing. The cooks are always smiling and saying hello as well! They were able to accommodate my order for a gluten allergy reason. The portion sizes were fantastic and everything was cooked the way it’s suppose to be. Great atmosphere inside as well. It’s a very nice place. Looking forward to making this a regular breakfast spot a couple times a week! Mark

It was an interesting brunch. It was only our server's second day on the job. She took our order and wrote everything down and double checked with everything. We managed to get the wrong items. We wanted the Steak and Eggs and the Sausage Benedict. We ended up getting the Steak dinner and Sausage Omelette and an order for Three Eggs and Home Fries. They took the Omelette back and left the rest even though we said they can take the Three Eggs and Home Fries away. The Steak was ok, Home Fries was good. The Poached Eggs and Sausage Benedict was also good. When the bill came we just paid and left without looking at the bill. After getting home I looked at the bill and noticed that we were charged for the Three Eggs and Fries, something we didn't order. Overall I don't care about paying for it since they left it at our table but at least mention something about it since we didn't order it and the mess up happened when the order was put in by the server. We still tipped the server 20% only because it was her second day and she was not having a good day. No one came to check up on how our meal was either. Definitely an interesting experience. I wanted to try a new place for my birthday hence how we found this place.

I came here shortly before closing and was told the kitchen had closed. Shortly after a gentleman came to my car and apologized for me being turned down. He offered to have my meal cooked for me. I was taken back by this because at the time I was really hungry and upset that I was turned down. Immediately I was in a better mood (being hangry isn't fun) , I ordered eggs Benedict and I have to be honest it's probably the best I've ever had. Eggs Benedict is my go to breakfast meal so I've had it hundreds of times and I can tell you this takes to place. A big thanks again to the gentleman that came back and offered to take my order. I don't have any photos of the Benedict because I devoured it without pause lol

Small diner style spot. The service is great. Very busy, but polite and on top of their tables needs. The food was GREAT! So much so that ¾ of our party over ate. The reviews of this place are spot on and I would absolutely return and recommend this place!

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast this morning. The portions were generous and despite how busy the place was it was all served promptly, including the coffee refills, condiments etc. The waitress deserves some kind of award for keeping it all together considering she was the only server for this bustling restaurant!!! We wondered how she could handle all that and still keep her sense of humour!
