We absolutely love it here at Gandy Beach, just wish others would take care of it as much as we do. Clean up your trash! And understand privacy and how the mangroves work. We are out here at least 3 days a weeks sometimes 4.

This place would actually be perfect if people would pick up their trash. When we plan to go, I go early to get 'a good spot' and so I spend half an hour picking up other people's trash. Oh.. a restroom would be awesome.

Great spot to fish and swim. Water stays low in the afternoon until sunset then rises fast. I started fishing here Nov 1, 2022 and became very fond of it. Using a cast nets catches you crabs, mullet, shad and other small shore fish for bait. There are spots with concrete blocks and underwater grass for crabs and fish to hide. The dirt road is rough when coming in. There are lots of large water ponds on the beach and parking area.

So far one of my favorite places to go with the little ones, the only 2 negative things I think-1 missing is restrooms, 2 unleash big dogs..arm water, very shallow, you can fish from inside the water,

One of my favorite places to go in Florida! I love that you can pull your car up so close to you don’t have to unload everything and lug it down to the beach from a parking lot. It’s nice too that you get your own little area with trees for shade. The natural beautiful is all around! The kids will have fun trying to catch the crabs in the trees! Lol yes in the trees! The water is pretty much always warm even on days you wish it was cold lol so just keep that in mind. Also please clean up your trash when you leave. We are always cleaning up extra trash every time we go. There are huge trash cans close by pretty much everywhere so there is no excuse in my opinion.

If you look 2000 feet south you'll see a power plant. And then you'll see that there's waste water discharge pointing exactly north... enjoy the water 😊

Fishing was slow but if you have children be careful because we saw a lot of broke glass all over in the sand, the wearing of beach shoes that can be both for water and sand is a must have to prevent your feet from being sliced up. Other than that it was very relaxing except for the huge speed boats flying by without a care for people fishing and swimming creating huge waves which was in a no wake zone.

Awesome place too just relax don't drink out there not aloud not even on the down low lots of under cover fish and wild life officers.

Dog friendly. Cook out (charcoal) friendly. NO BATHROOMS in sight. No divider from highway to beach— keep this in mind if your dogs are crazy. Sand is a little mushy like a lake but overall good, water is clear. Beach is very clean. Got here at 11am on Labor Day Saturday and it’s not busy at all. If you’re from Miami (i am) please don’t come and ruin it haha, no but seriously. Water is shallow so a lot of people launch their jet skis from the shore

Not sure how to start.... when I was here it was SUPER busy but it wasnt where the wide open beach part is. It wasn't as dirty and 'garbagey' as I read inorger reviews. The beach had a little litter but not much. We walked our dogs and they loved it. The water seems like it goes very shallow for a long ways in. There were some kids swimming. The highway is very busy behind the beach. We were only on one side so far. I think it may be more of a 'locals' beach. Overall though, I did like it.

Was at a local jeep meet. Was nice being able to drive right up to the beach. Plenty of room for the kids to play while i chilled near the jeep. Having food trucks near by was nice too.

FDOT ruined this area with the installing old shabby light poles along the entire shoreline. It looks hideous, and I'm appalled honestly. They aren't in a straight line, they aren't the same size or height. Looks extremely ametuer. They claim it was to deter trash on beach?! It literally looks like permanent trash installed in ground now, and far from natural.

This is a very nice and relaxing place to come and just have fun or relax in the sun. It has a wide open sandy beach or if you're lucky you can find a spot between the mangroves and have your own little piece of paradise. I have come here many times to fish or to curl my toes in the sand. Great place to bring a paddle board or kayak. Be aware that if there is a pool of water in the parking lot, do not think that you can still park there. Check to see how deep the water is.

Love this beach. Don’t cost money to park, & you can back in between the trees & you got your own little private beach. Just wear your boots unless in the water, because there’s a lot of trash in the sand.

It's a very nice place, personal beach areas where you can back your truck/car to the shore. Water was warm and knee deep wading water . Bring food, tents, floats and relax.

Nice plan to see birds dolphins and Manatee and saw several people fishing. The beach was a bit dirty and no showers of bathroom so I don't think I'd spend the day swimming there

One of the coolest spots around. Bring the whole family, grill, music, fishing gear and stay all day. If you see big blue stop by, say HI, and have a beer. You need to get here early to get a shaded mangrove spot and check the tide schedule so your car doesn’t end up in the water.

This beach does not face the ocean, it's from the Tampa Bay. It's great to kayak but I wouldn't swim in it. A lot of local people from Pinellas County/Hillsborough County areas come here but if you want an actual beach with not a lot of tourists, I suggest Redington, Fort De Soto, or Honeymoon Island.

Great beach if people started cleaning up after themselves. It's disappointing because you have such beautiful mangroves within the alcoves which provide shade and a perfect place to relax only for a handful of people to mess it up by leaving their trash and debris behind (for other people and animals to contend with). I've picked up over twenty five (55 gallon) trash bags of garbage in just a couple of weeks - I've never seen anything like it before (I actually broke my snake grabbers I've picked up so much trash). I'm taking 2 stars off for this alone; otherwise, this beach would be an easy 5 stars without all of the trash and debris.

Super cute beach, very shallow no waves ( because it’s the bay). There’s a long stretch of sand and mini beaches with trails in between the bushes. Parking right off the side of the road in sandy side road. Went to kill time before our flight home, highly recommend.

I enjoy going to this beach however, I wish the city would do a better job with the trash removal.

We were there yesterday. It is a beautiful place. An officer stopped to talk to us. We got a warning. Charcoal grills are NOT allowed and DOGS are no longer allowed. Was told the no tolerance is about to go into effect and will get ticketed. Our dog was in his lead and we were in a very private area with no one around.

We go out to watch the sun rise over tampa every once in awhile. That's really the only time we go out that way. All the other times it's just really to busy.

Love it perfect for kids

Haven't been there in 10 years but it was and sounds as if still is, a great place to go chill with family and friends and meeting new ones. Great place to bring your pets but keep them leashed as Gandy is on a main road!! Great place to be for the locals definitely not like Clearwater or Gulfport or St Pete but Gandy is terrific. I'll be there again one day!!

Great place early morning to run your dog or drop a line... I wouldn’t SWIM.. it’s dirty and folks drive in the water.. and it’s right across from the power plant...easy in and out but access road is UNPAVED and UNMAINTAINED.
