Overpriced and Horrible! Just ordered food from Shanghai Terrace and it became the worst experience ever. We ordered the food at about 5.45pm asking them to deliver the food exactly at 7pm. After several reminders they delivered the food at 7.50pm mentioning that driver came late to pick the food. That chicken fried rice was the most horrible fried rice I’ve ever tasted. Rice was over cooked and it tasted like smashed flour and the prawn tasted like nothing but water. Hot butter cuttlefish had more fried batter than cuttlefish. When I called they mentioned that my bill will be Rs. 16700 but when I received the food the driver charged Rs. 17, 872. No one should order food from this place. Worst customer service and extremely over priced.

Worst customer service ever. It took 15 minitues for someone to come and take our order. We had to wait a little over one hour to get our food served even in a less busy time. And the food quality is below par. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone and definitely won't go there ever again.

This is our go to place for get togethers. They have private rooms that can seat about 10 people so you don't have to worry about bothering other customers by going there as a big group. I recommend the rooftop tables. The view will add a nice touch. Food is prepared really well. The menu is really big so there's something for everyone.

Terrible packaging on delivery orders, small portions, slow service and terrible customer service. Pre-Covid this restaurant had the tastiest food for years and they still do but every other aspect has dropped in terms of their delivery. I placed an order and it took almost 2hrs to be prepared when the PickMe driver was at the location they were still not handing over the food, I called the restaurant and they said their out of chicken (on a Sunday during lunch hour their out of ingredients) and need another 15mts to prep. By the time the food arrived, it’s leaked out of the packaging and didn’t have the food safety seal and it was extremely cold. Not to mention the portion size. Called the restaurant to complain and the person who attended to my enquiry (captain) blamed it on the courier service and stated it’s quite a common complaint and there is nothing he can do about it but after further explaining said he will talk to the driver and call back but never did.

Out of all the places that serves Lamb in kotte this is the best. The lamb chop with black bean sauce was out of this world. Although I wasn’t a fan of their sea food as they haven’t cleaned up the prawn properly (the vein and the shell). Parking might be a hassle on a busy day so look out. Other than than lovely place I’d be visiting in future for sure.

Didn't like the service much. Found hair in food yet we politely informed the staff without making a big fuss. Manager just slipped it off saying they dont have anyone with long hair. Food was too salty. Didn't like the service.

Really tasty food. Reasonable prices. Might need to make a reservation (dinner). Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a good restaurant for you to have a good bite with your family or business partners. But the service was now very good where the waiters did not attend to the tables frequently... Where we had to go look for them to get our things done. There are two private rooms where they lend it to groups if needed and corkage will be allowed if a certain amount it reached in the bill. There is sufficient parking and a roof top.

One of the worst experiences ever. We had ordered through Pick Me. We ordered Chicken Pineapple and a Vegetable Fried Rice. BUT, instead we got BEEF. We have never tried BEEF nor wanted to. IN our culture we don't try a lot of meat. But, Shanghai Terrace had instead mixed up the order through Pick Me and given us BEEF which I considered ABSOLUTLEY DISUGUSTING. We placed a complaint through their contact number. BUT, they had behaved ARROGANTLY and IMMATURELY by telling us that WE HAD PROBABLY ENTERED THE WRONG ORDER and that THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. HEARD THAT A BILLION TIMES FROM POOR RESTAURANTS AS THESE. They had the audacity to do that. BUT, we got hold of the owner's contact through a source which ended up in us getting an EVEN worse type of ARROGANCE and DENIAL. What if someone had a protein allergy? What if it was someone who has a condition for meat that they cannot control? THESE are serious consequences. The Owner had repeatedly stated that "What can I do for you?" (Sometimes the owner would ask this question from PHI and Consumer Authority people when they visit his establishment and question the food handling). This shows us that the owner had not taken any responsibility for the situation. It seems to be that he's solving the problem or issue in an DISHONEST and UNTRUTHFUL way. We were extremely disappointed and we won't be TAKING AWAY or ORDERING from here AGAIN. And we sure as ever won't recommend the place. Shanghai Terrace has a MAJOR ARROGANCE and DENIAL problem. Other restaurants accept their customer criticisms' and complaints' seriously but, not Shanghai Terrace. 100%Terrible Customer Service. - Indika

Value for money you spend and really delicious!.

We celebrated a birthday of 30 pax on 18th OCT 2023, while appreciating the taste of food who ever plans to have a banquet at Shanghai terrace, it's better make sure to have service staff arranged prior to the event. We had only one staff allocated and literary we had to serve our selves. It was a nightmare infront of our guests.

One of the nicest places to enjoy good Chinese cuisine. Cozy ambience and excellent service match the tasty foods. Private dining spaces available. On crowded days parking may be a little issue.

The food was delicious and the portions were quite big. The service was great as well with very nice atmosphere for a family outing or even a dinner date.

We had a great experience with this restaurant. Our group was about 20 people and ground floor was reserved for us. The quality of food and the food choices were excellent. The staff worked very hard to serve us on time. We found no issues with the parking. Great place and great food.

Bit crowded on that day. Chop suey rice was over fried with aroma. Garlic chicken , Spicy mushroom soup and beverages were upto high standard. Do check with there portion before you order as Small portion is more than enough for two persons. They give good portions than any restaurant. End of the day we asked to pack some remaining dishes to take away. Friendly staff as always. Highly recommended.

Seriously the best bang for buck! Even during these inflation times the best price for all the food we ordered cost only 12K. This is for 8 people (2 large rice, 1 small fish, 1 large chicken, 1 large hot butter cuttlefish and 1 small kankung). Will surely be visiting again!

The food is really good! Friendly and helpful staff too. Not very crowded. Good for a family outing or friends gathering.

Was there the other day and had to wait over 90 minutes 😑 Had to ask a couple of time but still the food was not even being prepared. When we cane down to the cashier to pay for the drinks and leave, not even one dish was ready. Ruined a perfectly good night. Will never go back!

Yesterday had a booked gathering on the ground floor. It was good food & great service. The manager there was very friendly & did his best to give the best service. I would recommend this place without a doubt for such gatherings.

Good option for Chinese Food In Kotte Area. A bit pricey.

Amazing food.. great value for money! We especially enjoy their Chinese and dishes. Also their indonisain chicken is simply amazing , it's brought to the table in its own little dish with a flame to keep it cooking at the table a definite must try!!
