Wonderful medieval castle with a fascinating history. The winter gardens are especially beautiful. Several cafes and restaurants on site. Plenty of free parking at the bottom and only a short walk up hill to the Castle. Would definitely recommend a visit to anyone touring in the area.

Very beautiful castle. We did not go inside but you don't really have to. The castle is stunning and the gardens look good as well. The castle seems to be well looked after. It's worth a visit!

Really interesting museum. Includes descriptions of the family that has lived there and many uses of old accomodation or furniture. Lots of rooms and a lot of entertaining games like an air cannon, laser crossbow, a virtual knight horse fight, etc. It suits the younger and older audience very nicely. A beatiful garden, restaurants and caffee's. 5 stars

Well, I have to admitt that this castle was a nice surprise. I thought that after two corridors of rooms which entrace was sealed by glass, the tour would end, but it turned out that it barely started. There are many rooms on a few floors to explore including the attic which I have not seen in any other castles before. And believe me, I have seen many of them 😃 It is definitely worth visiting, especially when the garden is green so you could enjoy a walk after the tour.

The Castle itself is a very big building, the good part is the internal court and the garden. It is not what people expect when talking about a But at least is free to visit (except for the museum).

Quite dark inside, so sometimes it's hard to see exhibition. Tickets 7.5 eur while in previous two castles it was 6 eur.

Nice palace with nice gardens. Good to decompress. Not much to do in terms of food, though, at least in Sundays.

The castle is amazing, with gorgeous garden and interactive museum. Worth to visit, especially that it is only 20 minutes by car from Dresden. You may also do some hike in the neighborhood 👍🏻 Highly recommend!

Very interesting. The entry fee for the interior is worth the money. However, some of the exhibits at clearly "very modern" and addressed at kids. One should plan about three hours to see everything, read the signs and see the garden (entry to the garden itself is free of charge).

We went there on a Friday early-afternoon and there was almost no one there! You don’t need a museum ticket to walk around the outside area and visit the cafe or restaurant/brewery. The museum ticket was worth it, I think, because the main portions of the exhibits are in English, and it was really cool to enter the newer portion, then go up the stairs to the old basement, etc. it’s not totally clear when you can/can’t go through doors that lead to stairs.. but for the most part they’re open and are meant for people to go up. We were a little bummed we couldn’t go to the top of the tower, but I think the Monks Attic (?) was as high as we could go. There’s gravel parking at the base of the castle with some stairs or a sloping path that goes up. You prepay with cash, and it’s pretty affordable.
