A very clean place taken the environment into consideration. The entry fee is 4 EUR per person. They have a lot of small benches where you can sit and relax and one of them has a view to the tower in Pisa. Inside you have different sections for different plants. The best time to visit is late summer when most of the flowers are blossom. There are also 3 different toilets inside, all of them are free, but in extremely poor condition. You would expect at least to have a look on the toilet door where they charge you to enter. If you have some free time and want to have a relaxing day with your family. This would be a great alternative.

The Orto e Museo Botanico of Pisa prides itself as the first university botanical garden in Europe — a feat that is truly something to be proud of. The entrance fee is free for students of Tuscany but don't worry as the ticket cost is very minimal. The best thing about this place is that there are a lot of spaces where you can hangout with your friends and family while enjoying the nature. Moreover, the museum has interactive games for kids who want to know more about the plants exhibited in this garden. There's also a water refilling station and toilet so you can truly stay here the whole day! Make sure not to miss this place on your way to the Leaning Tower!

The Botanical Gardens on a pleasant day regardless of the time of year will certainly give those a couple of hours to lazily walk around the gardens and green houses. If you're taking a camera you can get some amazing shots especially playing with aspects of light which is cast across and through the shades of green. It's also worth noting that it's cheap to enter and for €4 (2020) is one of the more accessible tourist attractions in Pisa.

After visiting the famous tower of Pisa we went into town looking for a place to enjoy lunch. In the same street as our restaurant was situated I saw a fence with behind it what appeared to be a garden. It turned out to be the botanical garden of Pisa. You wouldn’t expect it to find something like this in the heart of the city. It’s completely surrounded with walls and buildings. But it’s a beautiful, green and lush oasis. Really nice to visit, walk around and enjoy all the diversities of plants and greenery and sit down here in this quiet environment in such a busy city.

4 euros entrance You are welcomed with a big screen showing a video of the history of a place, then an interior museum air conditioning, then the outdoor botanical garden The informative signs are really fun to read Love the place but we came at the wrong season as half the greenery was dry

This is a must see place to visit in Pisa far from tourists, Q’s and heaving masses. I should know as I visited twice a week apart and it was quiet and tranquil. If you go there expecting to be blown away by blooms you will be disappointed. This is a study garden where plants are grouped according to genus. I learned, for example, that sage and rosemary are closely related. It’s a wonderful spot to wander, rest on the many seats and have some quiet time. The cacti collection is fascinating and the South American greenhouse is a joy to behold. The kids will love the bamboo “ forest”.

The good The gardens were lovely and diverse. Lovely place to hide from the heat and bustle outside. The wax model collection they house is also quite lovely. The bad One word of warning, beware the mosquitos that hang around the lily ponds. Use repellent or walk fast. The pretty Cute gift shop with nice books, puzzles, gardening sets, seeds and such. Nice to have options for souvenirs that are not a plastic leaning tower.

This was a great find and a great place to walk around while visiting Pisa for the day. We did a self guided walking tour and decided to go in. It cost us 8.00 Euros for a family of 4. There were a lot of different plants and flowers to see as well as a lot of sign boards in English. There were a couple of school groups but it is big enough where you don’t notice them. Lots of benches and places to sit and relax if needed

The botanical gardens is a must-see if youre visiting pizza. One of the most extensive and varied collections of plants I've had the pleasure of seeing. The cactus greenhouse had such impressive specimens, the tropical plants were beautiful and the bamboo forest. The gardens were bigger than I expected I would set out at least an hour if you would like to appreciate it all.

Such a wonderful place to visit! The garden is located in the centre of the city and it's connected to the university. There are lots of plant species to see here. Luckily our dog could also tag along!

Lovely garden, very old world asthetic. Staff in the museum were happy to share info and add context to the history of botanical research that was conducted here.

Really pretty gardens, great value for money, interesting choice of plants. Mind boggling to think some had been planted in 1787! Reception staff were very uninterested otherwise well worth the 4 euro.

Very interesting museum. Despite the comparatively small size, it has a wide variety of plants, and the museum shows plants and mushrooms from inside. I wish I knew Italian to be able to read all the descriptions. It's really worse to visit!

Very nice and well-kept garden, quite large area. You can see that the garden was created a long time ago, but it is really well-kept, a nice large greenhouse with cacti. Definitely I recommend this place.

There is some old trees and some kind of pants. But hundreds of empty spots which I was wondering why they sell ticket to see those empty. It's better to open doors when it's ready!

A nice break from the busy city of Pisa. We enjoyed the shade and admired beatiful and old trees, such as over 200 years old ginkgo biloba. We were allowed to enter with our dog and even see an inside exhibition with her.

It’s not the most modern anymore or biggest botanic museum, but if you visit Pisa this is a quiet, nice place to enjoy and relax while having a look at plants from various continents. We really enjoyed it!

Really barren garden, many plants have just a sign but you can't see the plant. However, it's a nice place to have a break. The entry fee is €4 per person. We went quite late in the day (about an hour before closure) and, although we paid full price, the lady kindly allowed us to go again the next day with the same tickets. I suppose the end of summer is not really the best time to visit, especially after a drought.

The gardens cost $4. In June and July the gardens are open every day from 8.30-9pm. In June a number of plants are in flower. The gardens are beautiful. There is a pond and some greenhouses that you can visit. A great place to visit if very hot as there is some shade to escape the sun.

If interested only a little in the detailed world of botanics just visit the place too when making the dumb picture with the tower. Students only pay 2 euro for entrance. Its lovely to get educated while in nature and this offers a great solution not having to wonder off into the forest. Its in the middle of the city. Great escape of the enormous amount of visitors too. The typical tourist so to say

quite nice, but €4 is a bit expensive for just a garden

A pleasant and calm area in the centre of pisa, some of it could do with a bit of care and attention but the area to the rear of the house was established and very nice. The museum is covered in shell and coral which was quite interesting and had some interesting exhibits inside.

Nice and quiet garden combined with a small museum. I would advise to visit after the tower of Pisa to get away from the crowd. It's quite beautiful and it only costs 4 euro to enter per person and 2 euro on a discount rate (for example students, children, etc..)

Nice place if you love trees and plants. It's not too huge but offers a nice variety of local and meridian plants and trees. Some very old ghinko and magnolia are there. We went at the end of the summer, but in spring time there are probably much more flower beds. The green houses and museum are rather small and not so much added value for the regular visitor. All in all the visit will take 2-3 hours.

I'd recommend visiting the botanical museum inside the garden.
