Walking around walnut looking for a brunch spot and decided to try this place. Forst off, the drinks here are delicious, my guava mojito was amazing! The service is great, everyone was kind and our waiter promptly answered our questions. The food is delicious, flavors pop here, and that's saying something. Their brunch burrito was lovely, and that house dressing on the salad was way too good. Plus, their chile arbol salsa had a great hit of smokiness and a slight kick to it. Fresh ingredients and bright flavors. Even their huevos rancheros was packed with flavor. Worth the stop on a brunchy morning, but I would return to try them for dinner. Their vibe screams intimate meal with your partner or group. The wall of candles was a nice touch.

Food was okay here. Stopped for a Sunday lunch and ordered an array of items. Location was easy to find. -Salsa and chips with medium and mild chips fried crunchy and salsas were ok. -Queso dip appetizer was good. -Pork taquito app was tasty. Was similar to spring rolls filled with pork standing on a bed of guacamole. You get about 6 minis. -Tacos meals served with 2 tacos and sides. -Steak nachos - meat flavoring lacking but was tender. -Shredded Chicken chimichanga - meat was not too dry and was flavorful but, was looking for a sauce on top. Was served with lettuce, rice no beans, sour cream and pico -Carne asada meat cooked medium as requested was tender but need a bit more seasoning / flavor -Spicy pineapple drink was sweet, tart and spicy -Sangria was sweet and flavorful. You can visibly see and taste the pieces of fruit added to the drink. -Margaritas good - as expected -Churros dessert with ice cream was delicious. Was fried and served warm; cinnamon and sugary served in a bed of ice cream. Some of the meat dishes (specifically beef) were lacking seasoning. The cook was spot with the grill of the meat however, just the flavoring could be improved in some cases. Servers were friendly and very attentive. Pricing for all was around $180 for 4 people and the items we orders. Street or nearby parking garage parking. Near a bunch of shops.

We had the shrimp and steak fajitas. The shrimp were pretty good but the steak was tough and there didn't seem to be a whole lot of it considering the price. And I don't know what it is but this is like the second different Mexican restaurant I've gone to that didn't serve a basket of chips and salsa to everybody. I understand charging them for a second one that they wanted but you have to give them the first to at least get an idea of what your salsas are like

Absolutely phenomenal food. We had Al pastor, carnitas, and the steak tacos. All were amazing especially the carnitas. Chips and salsa was great and the churros were amazing. Atmosphere 10/10

Bustling atmosphere with really good high quality food. The service can be a little slow but be patient because once they attend to you they are very kind. The cauliflower taco is absolutely special and the fish taco is even a step beyond that. Haven't had a better fish taco since San Diego. The Birria tacos are tasty but I think the others are more worth the experience here. I know it's a bit pricey here so it's not your everyday Mexican restaurant but it is a great date night or special occasion place. Really good drinks and delicious food puts this place as one of the tops in Pittsburgh to hangout. Please go see for yourself.

Everyone was friendly. We had the Barria Tacos and chicken and chorizo, and both were fantastic. We will definitely go back.

Trendy Mexican food at tocayo. We got the guac and chips, and tacos. The guac and mushroom taco was pretty salty. The Al pastor taco didn’t have much flavor and the chicken taco was dry. The ambience at todays is fun and the service is good.

Each of the things I ate at Tocayo alone were reason enough to stop by, whether you're looking for a meal, a drink, or a fun dessert. I would strongly recommend checking this place out, you will not be disappointed. My friend and I stopped by for a late lunch and were incredibly pleased with the food, service, and the drinks. The nachos were great but I have to recommend the chicaken tostada salad -- this is no ordinary salad, this is a fantastic meal. On top of this, I would strongly recommend you try the mezcal old fashioned -- it's an amazing twist on an old classic that will really surprise you. And finally, what would a meal be without a dessert? The churros and chocolate ice cream were decadent.

👍👍 Best taco place in Pittsburgh downtown. If you love spicy food and margaritas, do check out the place. Service was very quick. Never seen anyone serving so quickly at any Mexican restaurant. You do not get chips with salsa. Mexican street corn is one of their dip options and you need to order the di...
