A wonderful and richly appointed museum. You can easily spend several hours gazing at artwork or learning a out our natural history. If you tastes run to modern art or stuffed animals this museum has what you are looking for. I found my favorites, impressionists and dinosaurs

This Museum is outstanding! A wonderful place to take your family during Summer break or on a weekend outing. I visited during Winter Break earlier in the year. There is so much to explore here. From world renowned paintings to prehistoric, Dinosaur bones. If you visit this Museum, you will need a pair of comfortable shoes. I would recommend that you start early so that you will have, enough time to cover the whole museum and explore the breathtaking exhibits. Believe me, this place is HUGE and you will be doing plenty of walking when you visit. Unlike other museums, this Museum makes you feel as if you are all alone with the Artwork and the Dinosaurs. Picture taking is allowed and there is no one to run behind you to remind you to put away your camera. There is also a gift shop where you can purchase many handmade items as well as manufactured souvenirs. Spending my day here was absolutely amazing I loved the way the museum was laid out and I also enjoyed the exhibits ! Great place to take children.

Walking in the lobby was beautiful. There’s a really nice cafe area that sells teas , coffees and food items. The service was great and everyone was super nice. There is so much art to look at it will definitely take you all day. Highly recommend coming here. They have tons of work and some by famous artists such as Claude Monet. The hall of statues was one of my favorites. Lovely atmosphere and it’s connected to the history museum. We went when Bank of America offered free tickets so keep a look out for that.

Fantastic museum(s); for a very reasonable price, you get access to multiple museums which are connected. We visited the Carnegie Art Museum which was stunning. We went for their nativity and Christmas trees, totally worth the trip. The trees are in the Hall of Architecture which is stunning. We also did a quick walk through of the dinosaur exhibit, can't wait to take the kids. Definitely worth a visit and support.

Dinosaurs, Art, & gift shops.. oh my!! 🦖🎨🛍 Most importantly: you need to dedicate at least 4 hours if you want to see everything in the museum! This museum is gigantic. If you really want to see all the exhibits, it’s a big place, multi-floor, multi-building museum. 🙌 The gifts are all wonderful. Anyone can find something special to take home! Museum staff that we encountered were all very knowledgeable about the museum and exhibits! 😌 Definitely a “must-see” while in Pittsburgh!!! Don’t miss out 👏😍

I really liked the combination of history and art. This allows everyone to find something they like. The minerals and gems section was my favorite, and it was also a huge collection of what seems like every mineral and gem. There was really great history of dinosaurs and guides that talked about dinosaur history. The art portion of the museum was very thorough and there were interesting collections beyond the average art museum.

Highly recommended! Great architecture design and exhibition, lots of famous artwork, only need 1 ticket for both art and natural history parts. Very spacious and not many people inside, quiet and perfect for enjoying arts and taking your own time. Relaxing and calming. Entry after 3pm is cheaper - $12 per person.

I grew up in Pittsburgh and my parents used to take us here. I forgot how big this art museum was and visiting it again after almost 13 years was such a treat! I highly recommend to anyone who loves art and natural history. It is one of my favorite things to do when I visit Pittsburgh. They always have great exhibitions that showcase so many great artists and collections. Definitely plan at least 4 hours to be able to see everything and enjoy it. I took lots of photos, but none do it justice and I didn’t want to spoil too much. You really have to see it in person.

I love everything about the museum. Every time I get a chance to come to Pittsburgh I visit the museum. The art museum has collection of many different types of art, including painting, sculpture, modern art display. Then you can go through the section and go to Natural History museum too. It may be a little bit overwhelming at first but once you figure out the route you won't get lost! The dinosaurs section is the most unique one. As an artist myself, I enjoyed the art museum and it gave me some good inspiration.

Good place to visit. Especially in December. It’s cold and wet outside. It’s warm and bright inside the museum. I enjoyed the the art works. Classic paintings and modern installations. They mix together nicely. Admission cost for non-member visitor is 20$. All day parking costs $10.

I can’t say enough good things about the Carnegie Museum of Art. There is so much to see and do and they have a lovely collection of paintings. The courtyard behind the museum is a nice hidden gem where they have music on Thursday nights and food trucks too. This is a great place to come and sketch and hear some music while getting a bite to eat. I can’t wait to come back for the next event.

Had an amazing time at the museum. There was greek architecture on display with amazing intricate designs of busts and columns and more. There was a gallery of miniature rooms which was super cool (see the attached pics). My toddler really enjoyed the animals and dinosaurs. The displays were informative and attractive. We spent around 3 hours here without getting bored. We didn't buy anything from the cafe but could see lots of reasonably priced options. Would love to visit again in future.

Great museum! I was impressed by the layout, lots of museums twist and turn too much, but here the galleries and long and wide and easy to navigate. I didn’t find much I liked in the modern collection, but there were plenty of earlier works that were fabulous. I’d go back.

The finest art museum that I have visited in this country! (And I have visited many) artists featured here are the artists that have contributed many masterpieces throughout the generations. Many centuries of art are on display. Do NOT miss the cast galleries. You will see cast reproductions from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, just to name a few!!

This a nice and clean museum with a lot of art, but it's too heavily focused on modern art. They have a wing with some impressionist paintings which is really nice. Admission gets you into both this museum and the natural history one, but I wouldn't spend all my time at the art museum. Would still recommend going though. They have lockers for keeping your bag and jacket but they cost 50¢

We came for the Elizabeth Murray and Jessi Reaves exhibit in the Heinz Galleries which did not disappoint. I had forgotten how extensive and diverse the Scaife Galleries actually are. But whatever you do, don't miss the Ailsa Mellon Bruce Gallery of Decorative Arts and Design. It's so pleasingly curated, I felt like I could just camp out there for a week. Really fascinating stuff.

It's absolutely fabulous. A Must-See! Contains Natural History and Art. Amazing Dinosaur Exhibit, ancient architecture, Egyptian section, Gemstones, Taxidermy. Art exhibit has some very modern, woke-heavy art but also some original Monets, Degas, Cezanne, Giacometti, etc. Interesting furniture displays. Wonderful experience.

Great place to spend an afternoon walking around. Nice atmosphere and staff. Plenty to see and it’s one admission for this and the Natural History museum.

Lovely museum. Nice mix of impressionist, contemporary, medieval … plus an impressive architecture room with life sized casts from Notre Dame Cathedral and other grand European facades. And dinosaurs!! Good stuff. Also honoring veterans with 1/2 off admission 👍

This museum is large ! The map is very helpful. There is the natural history part as well as the fine arts sections. I’m partial to the art but my friend loved the dinosaurs and rocks. Bring your student if for a discount!! Location is right on Pitts campus so parking is on the street, be prepared to pay for a meter. This is a great day date!!

a great museum to spend the day at. the natural history and art museum are included in the same ticket for $25 so it's a great deal. they had a great variety of different artworks from a diverse range of people. I recommend having an entire afternoon free to get the chance to get the most out of the ticket as there is a lot to see.

The expansive museum offers a captivating blend of art, photography, and dynamic exhibits like the mesmerizing dinosaur and geological displays. Its sheer size is both awe-inspiring and slightly overwhelming, ensuring there's something for everyone. The inclusion of student discounts makes it an enriching experience accessible to a broader audience.

Unique art museum combined with Natural History museum. Science section is pretty expansive. We took almost 3 hours only in that part of the museum. The geology collection is incredible and really informative. Map was confusing and signage was not great so we felt a little lost at times and didn’t see all of the exhibits due to lack of way finding. Art section was good but not as impressive. Collections felt a bit all over the place and not really showcasing each period of art as well as other museums I’ve been to. The decorative arts section was cool and really captured the Zeitgeist of different decades in the last century.

Best museum in Pittsburgh! Love this spot, always something new going on and everything is always changing! Huge dinosaur exhibit and digging space for kids. They have an outdoor exhibit/playground for kids to run and play in and many more cool things! 100% recommend to any tourist visiting Pittsburgh.

Very big & beautiful. I could’ve spent hours here. At first I was concerned about the price per ticket & parking, but after experiencing it I would say the price is fair. We spent 2 hours there & still didn’t see everything they had to offer. While we were there, outside the museum was an art performance put on by the museum I assume. It was very interesting. There is so much to see & learn as well as different types of art to experience. Highly recommended.

I enjoy the spacious layout of the museum. Every year, we get some updates throughout. The crystals and gems are a breathtaking exhibit that I hope always remains. It's very stroller friendly.

This museum is amazing. I did have an issue with my tripod i still don't understand the rule but i don't go anywhere without it so there's that. I still got some great photos and had a good time once i adjusted my attitude.

After visiting the Museum of Natural History my girlfriend and I made our way to the museum of art. Quite a collection. We wondered around enjoying all of the art. The staff was pleasant and readily available for questions. So much to look at.

We went today on a free day and it was nice to revisit. Many of the exhibits were however gone. I rather pay next time to have less noise and hopefully more to see. It is a pretty decent museum.

Has the best minerals and gem display I've seen yet. The dinosaur and history componet is expansive. I also really enjoyed the hall of architecture. Definitely takes a while to get through everything

I had the best time! It was free visit day for BOFA customers. So many cool art pieces really so much to see. Only thing I guess you're not allowed to wear small backpack purses or carry water bottles inside. I was on a day trip so this is what I carry with me. Staff just told me put my bottle in my bag and carry bag on my shoulder. Overall though I'm very happy I was able to visit. I absolutely recommend.

My favorite place to visit when I visit Pittsburgh! I recommend starting on the Arts side then making your way across the 3rd floor and back down to the dinosaurs. One of the best Dinosaur exhibits i've ever seen.

One of the pittsburgh highlights. My favorite is the all white art. You know how serious they are about collecting. Oh they also have some Reniors and monets. Art museum is attached to natural history museum. Get your fill of dinosaurs and rocks at the same time.
