It is a nice building, but they are not fine dining. Service is attentive, if overly familiar. Many people seemed happy to be there. Not terrible, just not competitive with some of the restaurants we have in Pittsburgh.

When I was staying at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, I got to experience a part of their historical part, their restaurant called the Terrace Room. This hotel screamed history from the moment I waked in, which was awesome. There were plenty of seating, and the architecture was really amazing, They have original molded plaster ceiling with mahogany arches. Beautiful chandeliers and elegant atmosphere. This restaurant was opened in 1916, and I got to peek into the history even just a little but by being in this space. The variety of the buffet was pretty nice, I was liking what I was seeing. They had eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, and so much more. What I enjoyed the most was their smoked salmon. Very fresh and tasty! Unfortunately, I was not super hungry, so I didn’t get as much as I wanted to try. I did get some eggs, breakfast potatoes, smoked salmon, blueberry maple sausage patty, mini muffin and fresh fruits. They were all pretty tasty and I had no complaints. Their special sausage patty was juicy and packed with flavor, and smoked salmon was meaty and fresh. They were not amazing, but I was happy with their offerings. The server was very nice and friendly. Food was better than I expected, especially the selections. I wish if I was hungry enough to have more… Regardless, I had a nice breakfast here, surrounded by rich history. Read my full review of the restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

Delicious food and great service. The flavors of each dish, especially the lamb chops, were outstanding! The service is friendly, professional, and efficient. This is one awesome place that I give two thumbs up. The ambiance, excellent food and service! Top notch. We tried Octopus and Persimmon salad. Top notch.

The terrace room is located in the Omni Hotel at William Penn place in downtown Pittsburgh. This historic building is beautifully maintained, and when I walked into the lobby I was struck by how lovely it is. The restaurant is no less impressive then the lobby. The wait staff was polite, friendly and extremely attentive. I had the breakfast buffet which was excellent with a wide variety of items including a super friendly cook who will make your omelet to order all as part of the buffet. Very highly recommended.

The restaurant is pretty but it needs some updating. The wait staff is lovely, kjnd accurate and quick. But the food. I got the prime rib. I've had better prime rib from a dive bar. It was cold, and a touch past raw. I'm totally okay with medium rare to rare but this was raw, the inside was cold. I never send back food but I had to. However, the mashed potatoes were awesome. Some of the best I ever had and my date had a burger and he said it was incredible. I also got a specialty mixed drink from the bar and it was fantastic.

The overall experience was everything I would expect from a high 4-5 star dinner. Quality service, food, and atmosphere! Our server Nick was polite and patient, and the food came out timely and properly cooked. The mural on the wall of the main terrace room was phenomenal. See attached photo. Dinner for 2 with drinks & tip was $90. Would return!!!

I went for sit down breakfast while staying at the hotel. They also have a buffet option but didn't look too special. Service was quick and friendly. They have free refills of orange juice (~$4). I got the Baltimore Benedict ($19) and the flavor was delicious but it was overall pretty gooey as there was no English muffin or bread base

I almost think they made a mistake today. Mother’s Day brunch for four people (one teenager) was $310 with tip. Not a drop of alcohol. Won’t make this mistake again. Really ruined my long held good opinion of this beautiful place. Staff was friendly and the spread was very nice but …

I booked a reservation a week in advance using Open Table for a 1:15 afternoon tea. This was a special occasion to celebrate my mother's birthday and she was driving in from out of town. I received a call less than an hour before. They told me that they weren't open past 1 pm and we'd have to either come earlier or cancel the reservation (this is after we had confirmed the reservation the day before). The employee was not apologetic and were rude. We tried to make this work but it wasn't possible due to my mother's travel arrangements. I received an email this evening from Open Table saying that I was a 'no show'. How could that be if they were closed according to the employee!? This was a huge disappointment and ruined a special day we had been planning on.

What a marvelous, elegant high tea we enjoyed at The Omni! We were treated like royalty - cannot say enough about our spectacular, attentive service. Every staff member we encountered made us feel like they were happy to see us. Our kids were thrilled by the Mad Hatter tea, featuring a pitcher of hot chocolate and a tower of beautiful sandwiches and treats. Each child got their own, so everyone could enjoy their food and drink at their own pace. Such a special way to celebrate my mom’s birthday. Our tea was delicious and our sandwiches, cookies and scones were glorious and beautifully presented. The fabulous chef came to our table to introduce himself. Our server Robert invited our boys to come see and learn about the stunning French Indian War mural inside the restaurant - painted in 1950 on the wall of this historic hotel which opened in 1915. What a gorgeous atmosphere inside the lobby! I highly recommend this place to celebrate a special occasion. Five stars!

The staff were very friendly. The room was very grand. But the brunch buffet spread was so-so for $26. Not much better than free continental breakfast at a Marriott. Another issue is, to use the restroom, you needed to use a personal fob from one of the staff, since someone had lost the public one. There were 3 of us who had to use it, and the poor waitress had others asking for it, so it was quite a hassle. Why must the restroom have such strict security anyway?

Mother’s Day Brunch 2023. The food is somewhat hit or miss: good beef loin, fresh lox, charcuterie was a bit skimpy, desserts were 50:50 (soggy cheesecake but outstanding layer cakes), beautiful breads, fresh fruit was very basic, crème brûlée French toast delicious, eggs/bacon/sausage. Our waiter interrupted too much, showed us pictures on his phone and was generally over-present at our table; otherwise he took good care of us. The Room is lovely, but was 70% empty at 12:30-1:30. When making reservations, price for MD brunch was $55, but upon arrival the price was $65. The total after tax/tip for 3 people and 3 drinks (not included) was $370.
